British Vogue Honors Frontline Workers On Cover Of July Issue!
British Vogue is honouring workers on the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic in its latest issue, featuring three key workers on the cover.
Titled “The New Front Line”, the magazine‘s July issue stars three women on its cover: Narguis Horsford, a train driver on the London Overground; Rachel Millar, a 24-year-old community midwife in east London; and Anisa Omar, a 21-year-old supermarket worker in King’s Cross.
Edward Enninful, editor-in-chief of the publication, said he could “think of no more appropriate trio of women to represent the millions of people in the UK who, at the height of the pandemic, in the face of dangers large and small, put on their uniforms and work clothes and went to help people”.
They were captured by photographer Jamie Hawkesworth as part of a 20-page portfolio for the magazine and spoke to British Vogue about their unique experiences working throughout the pandemic.
“I don’t feel anxious about going to work,” said Ms Horsford, who has been working as a train driver on the London Overground for five years.
Ms Horsford said she “felt such a sense of pride” when one day a passenger at Barking thanked her for her work.
“I am no hero, but I’m proud of being a train driver and the essential role we are playing during the coronavirus crisis. Our services are vitally important to keep London moving throughout these unprecedented times and maintaining safety, to ensure our key workers can get to where they need to be to provide the services that are required.”
Ms Millar, a community midwife, said “one of the hardest moments” for her was when her bike was stolen, expressing the “importance” of being able to cycle in east London for a midwife, “especially when we’re desperately trying to avoid public transport”.
“Having to carry on working for the rest of the week, maintain good morale, and be that reassuring voice to worried parents was made slightly more difficult,” she stated.
The midwife recalled how a friend raised £500 for her within a space of a few hours, with a local company donating a brand new electric bike in response to a tweet.
“It’s just one example of the community support and kindness that I’ve seen over the past few months, and what initially drew me to work in Homerton Hospital and the surrounding area,” she said.
“To say that I’m proud of my work family and my wider community’s response to the pandemic, is an understatement.”
Ms Millar added her hope that “after the 8pm clapping fades”, the NHS “won’t be forgotten”.
“To resume to ‘normal’ would be a step in the wrong direction.”
Ms Omar explained to British Vogue how prior to the pandemic, members of the public “would look at us as service assistants”.
“We’re there to show them where the eggs are or if they want to complain about something. But now they’re a lot more understanding,” she said.
“They understand that we’re here all the time, and they don’t have to leave their houses. People are a lot nicer, they’re warmer.”
Ms Omar described being a key worker as “nice”, remarking that her job “was not something that was that big of a deal before”.
“But now it’s like we’re important,” she stated. “We have to be here, regardless of what’s happening in the world. It’s more than just a job now.”
When conceiving the idea of “The New Front Line” issue, Enninful said he was “cognisant that the doctors, nurses and carers in the NHS were making huge sacrifices for the country in the midst of this devastating pandemic”.
“But I was also thinking about all the other people out there – the bus and Tube drivers, the postman who delivered my letters, the people I saw stacking shelves in my local supermarket – who were putting their lives on the line for us, every day,” the editor said.
Enninful wrote that there has been a “shift” in who the population “look up to and admire”, and these individuals “need to be celebrated”.
“They were always heroes, doing their jobs to keep this country on its feet – but they are also normal people,” he stated.
“There is such a beauty in normality, but it’s taken an international crisis for us to see it.”

#RHOA: Kenya Moore Says Real Housewives Of Atlanta Cast Needs A Shakeup; Comments On Possibility Of Yovanna Momplaisir Joining The Cast!
Every cast needs a good overhaul every now and then. In my humble opinion, unless we have a golden cast full of storylines, these shake-ups should be on the semi-regular. But I’ve said it before and I will say it again, Real Housewives of Atlanta is my favorite franchise. Season after season, they deliver. Even when their storylines are meh, the cast is strong enough to entertain their audience.
But as much as I love my RHOA, I could always do without Miss Nene Leakes. I can’t even hide it, guys. I’m sorry if you don’t agree with me but I must speak my truth! Despite being an OG and central cast member, NeNe brings nothing to the table. She hasn’t since her glory days of Kim Zolciak and Sheree Whitfield feuds. On top of that, she can’t stand to see any of her castmates succeed. For someone always talking about her own success, you would think she would be happy that there is enough to go around. Finally, she regularly refuses to film and storms off when things don’t go her way. See this past season’s reunion.
Another person who I’m sure wouldn’t be upset if NeNe didn’t make the cut would be nemesis Kenya Moore. While she didn’t outright name her, Kenya started spilling some tea about the idea of a new cast. In an exclusive interview with Hollywood Life, Kenya said the show would benefit from a “cast shake-up”.
Kenya elaborates, “Listen, I’m not a network, I’m not the production company. I won’t speak to who should be back and who shouldn’t be back, but I definitely think we need a cast shake-up. I think that we need fresh faces. I think [with] all of the franchises, what keeps them interesting is that you have new people, so I think that we definitely need some new people.”
The only person Kenya would talk about is Friend of the Housewives and newfound enemy of NeNe, Yovanna Momplaisir. While Yovanna was only known for limited appearances on season 11 and 12, we recently talked about how she might be a full-time cast member for season 13. Kenya isn’t so sure.
Kenya explained, “[TMZ] didn’t say that she would be a peach holder, but I don’t think she would be anything full-time other than full-time of BS. I’m kind of over her and the situation and to see that she was plotting to dig up. Why would you want to do that? Just so you could be a part of the show? I’ve never done anything to her personally to have her plotting against me and trying to embarrass me and my family, so it’s a no for me.”

Ice Cube says N.W.A was a “weapon of protest against” the struggles present in their neighborhood.
At a time when the city of Compton, California was dealt numerous blows due to Reaganomics, police brutality, and other social and economic issues, Ice Cube revealed that N.W.A served as their “weapon of protest.”
Ice Cube detailed the formation of N.W.A, during an appearance on “Larry King Now.” He also revealed that not only did his neighborhood influence N.W.A, “N.W.A influenced the neighborhood.”
“It was really our only weapon of protest against what we saw,” Ice Cube said. “What was happening to our neighborhood. Coming in in the era of gangbanging and crack and police brutality and Reaganomics, this whole mixture of things forged N.W.A. And the neighborhood that we come from made N.W.A. And then N.W.A influenced the neighborhood.”
The rapper/actor, who lent his assistance during the filming of the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton, also provided some insight into the gradual end of N.W.A. He confirmed that he did leave over “money reasons,” and added that N.W.A only lasted one album.
“And the group really only lasted one strong album. They went on to do a second album, but it was never the original members…It was money reasons,” Ice Cube said when asked why he left the group. “I found out that we wasn’t really getting paid what we was supposed to get paid. And nobody wanted to correct the situation with me. So, I had to leave.”
Second Autopsy Rules George Floyd's Death A Homicide By Asphyxia!
The results from George Floyd’s second autopsy are in. According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, attorneys for the Floyd family revealed the 46-year-old man died of asphyxia from neck and back compression.
“George died because he needed a breath,” civil rights attorney Ben Crump said during a press conference on Monday afternoon (June 1). “I implore all of us to take a breath for justice, to take a breath for peace, to take a breath for our country and to take a breath for George.”
The independent autopsy was performed by renowned forensic medical examiner Dr. Michael Baden who — along with colleague Dr. Allecia Wilson — found the manner of Floyd’s death to be a homicide.
“[They found] Mr. Floyd’s death was homicide caused by asphyxia caused by neck and back compression that led to a lack of blood flow to the brain,” the report reads in part. “Sustained pressure on the right side of Mr. Floyd’s carotid artery impeded blood flow to the brain, and weight on his back impeded his ability to breathe.
“The independent examiners found that weight on the back, handcuffs and positioning were contributory factors because they impaired the ability of Mr. Floyd’s diaphragm to function. From all the evidence, the doctor said it now appears Mr. Floyd died at the scene.”
The initial autopsy performed by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner Offices stated there was nothing “to support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation.” That autopsy included the effects of being restrained, along with underlying health issues and “potential” intoxicants in Floyd’s system.
There were no other details about intoxicants, and toxicology results are pending. In the original 911 call that prompted officers to confront Floyd, the caller describes the man suspected of paying with counterfeit money as “awfully drunk and he’s not in control of himself.”
Dr. Baden performed autopsies on black 18-year-old Michael Brown who was killed by Ferguson, Missouri police in 2014 as well as Eric Garner who was killed the same year at the hands of a NYPD police officer.
Floyd died on May 25 after fired Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin placed his knee on Floyd’s neck for over nine minutes. He was arrested and charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter. The other three officers involved remain free. Attorney General Keith Ellison has taken over the case.
Floyd Mayweather Offers To Handle George Floyd’s Funeral Expenses!
Floyd Mayweather has reportedly offered to pay for all of George Floyd’s funeral expenses. According to Hollywood Unlocked, the famed boxer committed to paying for the three funeral services in Floyd’s hometown of Houston, Minnesota and Charlotte, North Carolina.
The family is also looking to have a fourth service in another location and Mayweather has offered to handle those expenses as well. Although he made the gesture in a private conversation with Hollywood Unlocked CEO Jason Lee, he did issue a public statement explaining why he made the generous offer.
“I felt it was important to share this because his voice has a global impact that needs to be heard, especially during these times,” he said.

Facebook Employees Lash Out At Mark Zuckerberg For Failing To Remove a Threatening Trump Post!
Facebook employees are speaking out with the company’s handling of Donald Trump’s post about the Minneapolis police brutality protests.
Director of product design at Facebook, Ryan Freitas, tweeted, “Mark is wrong, and I will endeavor in the loudest possible way to change his mind. I apologize if you were waiting for me to have some sort of external opinion. I focused on organizing 50+ like-minded folks into something that looks like internal change.”
The social media giant has faced intense scrutiny from users and staff since last Friday after it left up a post by Donald Trump which threatened the use of military enforcement against protestors in Minneapolis. He even very boldly used the 1960 segregationist phrase, “when the looting starts, the shooting starts.”
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg addressed the company’s decision to leave Trump’s post untouched, explaining that although he personally had “a visceral negative reaction to this kind of divisive and inflammatory rhetoric,” Facebook’s “position is that we should enable as much expression as possible unless it will cause imminent risk of specific harms or dangers spelled out in clear policies.”
However, several Facebook employees felt differently and voiced their disdain for the company’s lack of removing Trump’s hateful posts.
“Inaction is not the answer. Facebook leadership is wrong. I have voiced my concerns internally, and I will continue to do it. I believe in our mission. I believe in my teammates. I hope we will do and be better,” Diego Mendes, a product design manager at Facebook ARVR, proclaimed.
Jason Toff, director of product management at Facebook, also voiced his opposition saying, “I work at Facebook, and I am not proud of how we’re showing up. The majority of coworkers I’ve spoken to feel the same way. We are making our voice heard.”
Facebook’s lack of action comes as Twitter is engulfed in a battle with Trump after fact-checking several of his tweets that spread misinformation about mail-in voting.
“Censoring information that might help people see the complete picture *is* wrong. But giving a platform to incite violence and spread disinformation is unacceptable, regardless who you are or if it’s newsworthy. I disagree with Mark’s position and will work to make change happen,” Andrew Crow, head of design at Facebook Portal declared.
David Gillis, a director of product design at Facebook, tweeted, “I believe Trump’s “when the looting starts, the shooting starts” tweet (cross-posted to FB), encourages extra-judicial violence and stokes racism. Respect to @Twitter’s integrity team for making the enforcement call. While I understand why we chose to stay squarely within the four corners of our violence and incitement policy, I think it would have been right for us to make a “spirit of the policy” exception that took more context into account.”
“I don’t know what to do, but I know doing nothing is not acceptable. I’m a FB employee that completely disagrees with Mark’s decision to do nothing about Trump’s recent posts, which clearly incite violence. I’m not alone inside of FB. There isn’t a neutral position on racism,” wrote Jason Stirman, a design manager at Facebook.
On Sunday, possibly in an effort to combat some of the backlash that he was receiving, Zuckerberg announced that the company would be donating $10 million to fight racial injustice.
Update: Many of the employees, who stated that they refused to work in order to show their support for demonstrators across the country, added an automated message to their digital profiles and email responses saying that they were out of the office in a show of protest.
The Tony Awards No Longer Airing This Weekend – Standing In Solidarity With The ‘Black Lives Matter’ Movement!
After initially choosing to hold the event in a virtual form due to the coronavirus, COVID-19 pandemic, it turns out that the Tony Awards have been postponed amid the ‘ongoing racism and injustices’ that have been in the forefront of everyone’s minds since the senseless murder of George Floyd. Check out the details!
Earlier , it was announced by Broadway on Demand CEO/President Sean Cercone that the new streaming platform meant for all lovers of theater to enjoy will no longer broadcast the Tony Awards next week on Sunday when it was originally scheduled to take place.
That being said, it looks like this decision had a lot to do with the Black Lives Matter protests.
‘We are collectively equally saddened and angered by the senseless murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Tony McDade, Breonna Taylor and also disheartened by the ongoing racism and injustice that continue to permeate society. We at Broadway On Demand don’t tolerate hate, racism, injustice or bigotry of any kind. The continuous violence against Black-Americans is inexcusable. We all stand in solidarity with Black Lives Matter.’
The statement went on to read: ‘This is a pivotal moment in this nation’s history and so, our priorities at this time are to listen, engage in meaningful dialogue and do our best to enact real change in this industry and in this nation. We truly believe that theater has the power to educate, inspire, to develop empathy, bridge cultural divides and unite under the banner of humanity.’
In other words, the platform wants to stand for what is right and feels like this is not the best time for a celebration like the Tonys.
Instead of the theater awards show, a ‘sing-along’ version of the 1978 film adaptation of Grease will be airing.

Barack Obama Stands By Protests, Slams Violent Behavior: You’re Putting Innocent People At Risk!
Former United States President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama have spoken out on their feelings on the death of George Floyd. Over the weekend, Michelle Obama shared an emotional post on her Instagram listing other black lives that were lost in the hands of police officers.
Barack Obama released an official statement, filled with conversations he’s had had with friends of his since the passing of George Floyd,
He then followed up his statement with a blog post, with action items on how to take this moment and make it a turning point to create real change. He first says that a new wave of activists are needed to create the change needed for our current times,
“Ultimately, it’s going to be up to a new generation of activists to shape strategies that best fit the times. But I believe there are some basic lessons to draw from past efforts that are worth remembering.”
Barack Obama addressed the protests that took place over the weekend, blaming the anger portrayed on “decade long failures to reform police practices” in the US,
“First, the waves of protests across the country represent a genuine and legitimate frustration over a decades-long failure to reform police practices and the broader criminal justice system in the United States. The overwhelming majority of participants have been peaceful, courageous, responsible, and inspiring. They deserve our respect and support, not condemnation — something that police in cities like Camden and Flint have commendably understood.”
He then advises those who took place in violent acts of destroying neighbors to “operate at a higher ethical code:”
“On the other hand, the small minority of folks who’ve resorted to violence in various forms, whether out of genuine anger or mere opportunism, are putting innocent people at risk, compounding the destruction of neighborhoods that are often already short on services and investment and detracting from the larger cause. I saw an elderly black woman being interviewed today in tears because the only grocery store in her neighborhood had been trashed. If history is any guide, that store may take years to come back. So let’s not excuse violence, or rationalize it, or participate in it. If we want our criminal justice system, and American society at large, to operate on a higher ethical code, then we have to model that code ourselves.”
The former President then highlighted what the point of a protest is meant to do,
“The point of protest is to raise public awareness, to put a spotlight on injustice, and to make the powers that be uncomfortable; in fact, throughout American history, it’s often only been in response to protests and civil disobedience that the political system has even paid attention to marginalized communities.”
In Michelle Obama’s Netflix documentary Becoming, she expressed her frustration with people not getting to the polls to vote. Barack Obama then stressed how important is it to elect the right people into office, even on the local level, as it is the “district attorneys and state’s attorneys that decide whether or not to investigate and ultimately charge,”
“It’s mayors and county executives that appoint most police chiefs and negotiate collective bargaining agreements with police unions. It’s district attorneys and state’s attorneys that decide whether or not to investigate and ultimately charge those involved in police misconduct. Those are all elected positions. In some places, police review boards with the power to monitor police conduct are elected as well. Unfortunately, voter turnout in these local races is usually pitifully low, especially among young people — which makes no sense given the direct impact these offices have on social justice issues, not to mention the fact that who wins and who loses those seats is often determined by just a few thousand, or even a few hundred, votes.”
Barack Obama closes out his letter with the understanding that the last few months have been “dispiriting,” filled with fear, sorrow, uncertainty, and hardship due to the pandemic. He reminds us the only way to reach a real turning point, is to channel your justifiable anger into peaceful, sustained, and effective forms of action, while encouraging both politics and protests as effective ways to bring about change,
“So the bottom line is this: if we want to bring about real change, then the choice isn’t between protest and politics. We have to do both. We have to mobilize to raise awareness, and we have to organize and cast our ballots to make sure that we elect candidates who will act on reform.”

Kim & Kanye West Threaten To Sue Ex Bodyguard For $10 Million For Breaching Confidentiality Agreement!
Reality star Kim Kardashian West and her husband Kanye West are reportedly looking to take legal action against their former bodyguard. After reportedly sending a cease-and-desist letter to Steve Stanulis, Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West have threatened to sue him for $10 million, after he revealed “confidential information”, during an interview with Hollywood Raw Podcast.
On the podcast, Steve Stanulis claimed that while employed by Kanye West, he had to abide by the ‘ridiculous rules’ given by the TV couple. He mentioned that Kim and Kanye would often call the paparazzi on themselves when they left the house. When speaking on Kanye West as an employer, Steve Stanulis said that he was ‘one of my least favorite people to work with over the course of time’.
Now, new reports revealed that Stanulis signed an agreement, which forbade him from speaking on any personal or business-related information regarding the Wests in 2016. Although it was not revealed what part of Stanulis claims Kim Kardashian West and Kayne are referring to, the couple will reportedly pursue legal action for breaching their confidentiality agreement if Stanlus speaks on their private lives again.
In response to their claims, Stanulis publicists, Zack Teperman, denied his client breaching their agreement, to TMZ. He said:
“My client went on a podcast to promote his new film, and old stories that were already out there were brought up. For Kanye and Kim’s counsel to send out a threatening letter to bully my client against his rights is unwarranted. My client has already made it clear that he respects Kanye, their time working together.If Kanye and Kim wish to continue this further, that is up to them, but I think their time and money would be better suited helping out with more pressing matters in our society than what happened many years ago.”
When Stanulis was fired by Kanye back in 2016, he spoke out about the “Good Life” rapper being rude, barely speaking to him, and not once thanking him for his services. He referred to him then as the ‘most self-absorbed person’, he had ever worked with. Stanulis said back then:
“I don’t think he ever said two words to me. I would go to a restaurant with him and watch him to make sure nobody was bothering him. Not once was I offered a glass of water or a soda. That was never in his mindset.”
In response to what caused his firing four years ago, Stanulis alleges that he asked Kim if their plans to take a sports car to the Met Gala that evening had changed. According to our reports, this reportedly made Kanye upset, who heard Stanuls as he walked past the doorway of their New York hotel suite.
9-1-1's Ryan Guzman Apologizes for Racial Slur Comments!
9-1-1 actor Ryan Guzman is apologizing for his controversial comments he made about using racially charged words.
If you missed it, among many other things, Ryan said, “I have plenty of friends — Black, white, Asian, Indian, whatever they are, Korean — and we make fun of each other’s races all the time. We call each other slurs all the time.”
Well, Ryan issued an apology for these controversial comments, saying, “I do not condone the use of the N-word by any non-Black person. That includes all Latinos. That’s not our word.”
“I came from an angry place. I couldn’t think straight, and I misspoke,” he said about his use of the word “slurs,” and apparently meant to say “stereotypes,” saying that “amongst friends, can friends make fun of each other? Yes.” But he added, “I’m not here to bring anybody down.”
“I apologize to those that I have offended and misrepresented myself by using the wrong term… I will continue to grow, and continue to help out the community,” he added.
Vanessa Bryant Thanks Los Angeles For 'Saving' Kobe & Gigi Murals During Protests!
Kobe Bryant's wife, Vanessa, is thanking the citizens of Los Angeles for sparing the beautiful murals all over the city of her husband and daughter -- even as many other buildings and areas of the city were targeted during the protests.
Vanessa Byant took to her Instagram story to share a video of a local newscast showing firefighters working to save a building in the Fairfax area of Los Angeles.
In the clip, the reporter explains a massive mural of the NBA legend and his daughter had been saved on the side of a neighboring building.
Vanessa went on to share a bunch of murals that popped up all over the city after the Los Angeles Lakers star and his daughter tragically died in a helicopter crash.
In the photos, you can see that none of the pieces of art have been touched, destroyed or even tagged on during the several days of protests."
"They know Kobe is off limits," one post read after a person posted a picture of it without a scratch.
Incredibly, despite many areas of Los Angeles being tagged to support justice for George Floyd, none of the Kobe and Gigi murals were touched.
In the past few days, Vanessa has been vocal about how Kobe felt about racism and police brutality in this country -- and even shared a photo of him wearing an 'I Can't Breathe' shirt from several years ago.
"My husband wore this shirt years ago and yet here we are again.💔#ICANTBREATHE," she captioned the photo taken in 2014.
Kobe wore the shirt during a Laker's game warm-up and on the bench to protest the death of Eric Garner, a black man who was killed in New York after a police officer grabbed him around the neck. He also cried out at the time, "I can't breathe."
Vanessa continued, "Life is so fragile. Life is so unpredictable. Life is too short. Let’s share and embrace the beautiful qualities and similarities we all share as people. Drive out hate. Teach respect and love for all at home and school. Spread LOVE. Fight for change- register to VOTE. Do not use innocent lives lost as an excuse to loot. BE AN EXAMPLE OF THE CHANGE WE WANT TO SEE. #BLACKLIVESMATTER ❤️."

Tokyo Jetz Apologizes For Mocking George Floyd’s Death!
Tokyo Jetz is issuing a tearful apology after mocking George Floyd.The rapper, who is signed to T.I.’s Grand Hustle label, was seen on camera making an insensitive joke about the death of Floyd, who was killed after a police officer kneeled on his neck for nearly nine minutes. “I’ma George Floyd your motherfu**in’ ass,” she said after appearing to choke her friend in the now-viral clip.
After facing outrage and backlash over the offensive remark, she removed all her Instagram posts and issued an emotional apology to her 1.7 million followers. In her video, she called her actions inexcusable and apologized to those protesting for justice.
“I’m not doing this video to ask for no type of sympathy ’cause what I did was wrong as hell,” she said. “First and foremost, I just want to apologize to family, to people out on the front lines, to people who actually stand up for us.”

She held back tears as she sat behind the wheel of her car. “I don’t want nobody to ever think that I don’t understand that I’m black as fuck. I can never be nothing else,” she said while also mentioning that her son is black. “At any given moment, it could be me that needs somebody to stand up for me. It could be him. It could be anybody around me.
“I made a bad decision. I made a joke out of a decision that’s serious as fuck… I’m embarrassed not so much for myself but for the people that respect me, my son, what I’m supposed to stand for.”
She ended with one more apology: “I know I was dead ass wrong and like I said, ain’t no excuse for it.”
