#FashionNews: Burberry Announces 'Phygital' Spring 17, 2021 Fashion Show Outdoors in London!
Burberry has announced plans for its co-ed spring 2021 collection presentation as a digital event scheduled for September 17, 2020. The fashion show promises to merge the real and virtual worlds with a “live physical presentation that’s open for all to experience digitally.”
Acknowledging Burberry’s long heritage around nature, chief creative officer Riccardo Tisci shared that the show will appear outdoors. Burberry’s fusion of the physical and digital experiences makes is the rare “phygital” show on the schedule so far.

“As humans, we have always had a deep affinity to nature. We have had to respect and rely upon its power for our very existence, whilst marveling and reveling in its extraordinary beauty. Especially recently, we have all yearned to reconnect again and for this show, I wanted to celebrate these feelings by bringing our community together in a creative experience that takes place within the beautiful, natural landscape of Britain,” writes chief creative officer Riccardo Tisci in a release. As with all of Tisci’s Burberry runway events, The statement explains, this one will be carbon neutral (though it’s important to note that the metric is the subject of debate), writes Vogue.com. Burberry will rely on an offset through Burberry’s Regeneration Fund
There will be no star-studded front row at this year’s event. Burberry’s decision to avoid the challenges of social distancing, crowd control and international travel may be an indicator of how other brands will handle these challenging topics.

London Fashion Week is not only under pressure from COVID-19.
Environmentalists have made the London presentation the one most aggressively challenged by environmental activists criticizing the climate unfriendly waste of long haul flights, chauffeured cars galore and endless street style shoots designed to create in-the-moment street style, digital content.

#MusicNews: Terry Ellis explains her timely new single "Angry Black Woman"!
On Juneteenth, En Vogue's Terry Ellis released her solo single, "Angry Black Woman," which captures the emotion of racial injustice and police brutality.
She co-wrote the song four years ago after the 2016 death of Eric Garner, during which he cried out, "I can't breathe" while in a chokehold. In addition to COVID-19, she acknowledges the Black community's other present-day pandemic: racism.

"I wanted to give a voice to the hurt, the pain, the frustration, and the anger that we as Black people are feeling right now," she tells ABC Audio. "And I know I can't speak for all black people, but there's quite a bit of us feeling like this right now, and I wanted to release that."

LISTEN
Ellis said putting out the song was "cathartic," even though she was hesitant about its title and its negative connotation, considering the phrase's origin.
"It's a stereotypical term given to us by other people that are not Black," she explains. "Anger is a natural emotion. I'd rather be angry because I know I'm reaching for my power as opposed to being paralyzed from feeling heartbroken."

Ellis added that it bothers her when people use the term freely, without asking why.
"Because they don't want to face the reasons and understand the explanation as to why because they want to continue to keep sweeping it under the rug," she said. "So now I felt like it's time to speak about it. I wanted to keep it real."

#HipHopNews: Joe Budden Responds To Leaked Eminem Diss Track!
Eminem and Joe Budden’s feud is back in the headlines.
Over the weekend, an alternate version of Conway the Machine and Eminem’s collaboration “Bang” leaked on which Em can be heard dissing the former Slaughterhouse MC along with Diddy’s network

“Yeah, shout to Puffy Combs, but f**k REVOLT / Y’all are like a fu**ed up remote, now I get it why our button’s [Budden’s] broke,” he raps.
Slim Shady also references Budden’s infamous altercation with Migos: “Tell this journalist to stick to the stuff he knows / Like always running from Migos.”
After hearing his diss, Budden addressed the leaked track on the latest episode of his “Joe Budden Podcast.” But instead of clapping back, he chose to keep the peace and offer a “mature” response.

“Listen, I was 100 percent prepared to come on here and scream on [Eminem’s manager] Paul [Rosenberg] cause I thought Paul leaked this,” he said, according to HotNewHipHop. “I was prepared to come on here and tell Paul and Em to read the room. Now’s not the time for all of that. But this is an old verse. Mal is right, you don’t get offended by old verses. And two, I don’t think anybody’s on that right now. I don’t think Em is on that, I don’t think my Slaughterhouse brothers is on that. I don’t think anybody is on that side right this second. I feel safe speaking on that, I won’t tell you why I feel safe speaking on that but I do.”

Budden didn’t feel it was an appropriate time to give his energy to something so trivial given the current state of the world. “That’s not really where the focus is right now,” he continued. “That’s not where our concern is, or where it should be. It’s way too much important shit going on right now. Even if I was going to come in here and start screaming, I’m not rapping so that’s not fun. Nothing about this is fun.”

He went on to call for unity while applauding Em’s verse. “It’s more power in the unity. I’m going to assume we were taking some baby steps to try to reach unity with some of the behind-the-scenes conversations that were taking place. So, nah, this is not 35-year-old Joe that’s going to come and f**k everything up ’cause I’m mad about some old shit. I’m going to be mature–I’m 40. Great verse!”

The two have had their issues in the past. Earlier this year, Eminem dissed Budden on “Lock It Up” off his latest album Music To Be Murdered By. But Joe said he was done with the beef. “We had our exchange and it’s over. In 2020, I can’t harbor negativity toward not only one of the best rappers but somebody who I’m not angry at. That’s what we gotta stop doing,” he said.

Regina King Says it’s “Insulting”  When Celebrities Ask People To Stay Home Amid Coronavirus Pandemic!
During a recent interview, Regina King admitted that she feels that it is a bit “insulting” when celebrities ask people to stay at home during the coronavirus pandemic.
Adding that she tries to “be very careful” about what she says to people in regards to how they should handle their personal lives, she says that she understands not every one has the same financial situation that would allow them to be able to take time off work.
She explains: “At the end of the day, the reality is the reality. There’s not going to be a vaccine anytime soon. We have to understand that while we’re telling people, ‘Stay home, stay home,’ there are people out there who are not in financial situations that – to say that to them is almost insulting, coming from certain messengers.”

“So I try to be very careful about saying that too much, because I do understand that some people don’t know where their next meal is going to be right now in this moment.”

Three suspects indicted on murder charges in death of Ahmaud Arbery in Georgia!
The three suspects in the killing of Ahmaud Arbery were officially indicted by a Georgia grand jury on murder charges, the district attorney in Cobb County announced Wednesday.
Gregory McMichael, 64, his son Travis McMichael, 34, and their neighbor William "Roddie" Bryan, 50, all face allegations of malice and felony murder in the Feb. 23 death of Arbery.
Bryan is accused of using his pickup truck in an attempt to box Arbery in.
The indictment accuses the three men of collectively causing Arbery's death "by unlawfully chasing him through the public roadways of the Satilla Shores neighborhood in pickup trucks and shooting him with a shotgun."

The indictment includes four counts of felony murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and one count each of false imprisonment and criminal attempt to commit false imprisonment.
Lawyers for the suspects have said what they did was not criminal.

Bob Rubin, who represents Travis McMichael, said in a statement Wednesday that his client planned to plead not guilty. "We look forward to presenting all of the facts regarding this tragic death in a court of law," he said.
Gregory McMichael's lawyers have said he's a "good person" and that his arrest and prosecution represents a "rush to judgement."

Kevin Gough, a lawyer for Bryan, has said his client was just a witness. In court this month Gough described Bryan's actions as "what any patriotic American citizen would have done under the same circumstances."
In a hearing this month, Richard Dial, an agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, testified that Bryan said during an interview in May that he had heard Travis McMichael say, "f---ing N-word," after Arbery was shot.
Wanda Cooper-Jones, Arbery's mother, told NBC News on Wednesday she was "very pleased" with the indictment.
'At this point, " she said, "I do believe the case is moving in the right direction."

Her lawyer, Lee Merritt, said, "We still obviously have to see this through to a conviction and appropriate sentencing, but as Miss Cooper said, I believe we're on the right track."
"This is another step forward in seeking justice for Ahmaud," said Cobb County District Attorney Joyette M. Holmes. "We will continue to be intentional in the pursuit of justice for this family and the community at large as the prosecution of this case continues."
The McMichaels were taken into custody on May 7. Bryan was arrested two weeks later.

Arbery's death inspired Georgia's legislature to pass a hate crime bill that would impose additional penalties for crimes motivated by race, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender or disability.
Holmes indicated at a news conference on Wednesday that the bill was unlikely to affect the case as it would not be retroactive if Gov. Brian Kemp does sign it.

Cooper-Jones said, "Maybe if the McMichaels and Mr. Bryan would have known that this deal was in place, they would have probably thought more than twice before they took the law into their own hands and took Ahmaud's life.

Actor Chadwick Boseman Rushed to Emergency Room in a Wheelchair With Noticeable Weight Loss!
Nationwide — Photos of Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman being rushed to the hospital obviously much skinnier than before have surfaced on the Internet and his fans are getting worried.
Even more concerning, over the weekend, the 42-year old actor was taken to the Santa Monica Medical Center by his fiancée, Taylor Simone. Chadwick was wearing a black face mask and hoodie covered in a white blanket as he was in a wheelchair pushed inside the hospital by a nurse.

Prior to that, he was last seen in public on April 30. Since then, rumors about his health problems have been spreading as he has reportedly lost nearly 50 pounds.

Chadwick became popular for his portrayal of the superhero Black Panther in several Marvel films including the hit movie Black Panther itself. He also played the role of a number of real-life historical figures such as Jackie Robinson in the movies 42, James Brown in Get on Up, and Thurgood Marshall in Marshall.

NASA names headquarters after Mary Jackson, the agency’s first Black female engineer!

NASA has announced it will name its headquarters in Washington DC after the agency’s first Black female engineer, Mary Jackson.

Jackson started work at NASA’s predecessor, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA), in 1951 at the then-segregated West Area Computing Unit. She took night classes in mathematic and physics to qualify as an engineer in 1958, before rising to achieve the most senior title within the engineering department in 1979. Her work at the agency, along with that of fellow Black female engineers and mathematicians, Katherine Johnson and Dorothy Vaughan, was told in the 2016 film Hidden Figures.
“SHE WAS A SCIENTIST, HUMANITARIAN, WIFE, MOTHER, AND TRAILBLAZER”
“Mary W. Jackson was part of a group of very important women who helped NASA succeed in getting American astronauts into space,” said NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine in a press statement. “Mary never accepted the status quo, she helped break barriers and open opportunities for African Americans and women in the field of engineering and technology.”

Jackson’s daughter, Carolyn Lewis, said she felt honored that NASA continued to celebrate her mother’s legacy. “She was a scientist, humanitarian, wife, mother, and trailblazer who paved the way for thousands of others to succeed, not only at NASA, but throughout this nation,” said Lewis in a press statement
The decision to name the headquarters comes during an ongoing reckoning with the physical legacies of racial injustice in the US and around the world. NASA has been implicated in this movement, as one of its main campuses, the Stennis Space Center, is named after senator John C. Stennis, a vocal advocate for racial segregation in the 1950s and 1960s — the same laws that made Mary Jackson’s life and work so difficult.

In response to a campaign to rename the Stennis building launched this week, NASA said it was “aware of conversations about renaming facilities” and is having “ongoing discussions with the NASA workforce on the topic.”
Jackson’s work at the agency included studying aerodynamics in the Supersonic Pressure Tunnel, a 4-foot by 4-foot wind tunnel that generated gusts of wind almost twice the speed of sound. In order to undertake her training to be an engineer, Jackson had to petition the local government to study alongside her white peers at the then-segregated Hampton High School. She then became an aerospace engineer specializing in aerodynamics in 1958, co-authoring her first report that same year: “Effects of Nose Angle and Mach Number on Transition on Cones at Supersonic Speeds.”

After attaining the highest engineering title at NASA by 1979, Jackson took a demotion to become Langley’s Federal Women’s Program Manager. In that role she was able to help guide and encourage the next generation of NASA’s female mathematicians, engineers, and scientists. She retired from the agency in 1985 and died in 2005 at the age of 83.
The story of Jackson and the other groundbreaking Black female mathematicians working at NASA in the 1960s, during the height of both the Space Race and the civil rights movement, was told in the 2016 film Hidden Figures, based on the nonfiction book of the same name by Margot Lee Shetterly. Jackson was played in the film by Janelle Monáe.

“Today, we proudly announce the Mary W. Jackson NASA Headquarters building,” said NASA”s Bridenstine in a statement. “It appropriately sits on ‘Hidden Figures Way,’ a reminder that Mary is one of many incredible and talented professionals in NASA’s history who contributed to this agency’s success.”

Netflix's Big Mouth to Recast Missy With Black Voice Actor!
Plans have been revealed to cast a Black actor for the voice of biracial Big Mouth character, Missy Foreman-Greenwald, who was voiced in all three seasons of the series by Parks and Recreation's Jenny Slate.
As reported by THR, the idea recasting of Missy was first brought up by Slate herself, who said in a recent Instagram post, "At the start of the show, I reasoned with myself that it was permissible for me to play Missy because her mom is Jewish and White — as am I. But Missy is also Black, and Black characters on an animated show should be played by Black people." Big Mouth series creators and producers were in agreement with Slate and decided to work towards recasting the character.

Premiering on Netflix in 2017, Big Mouth has been lauded for its depiction of prepubescence and the journey into adulthood. The series was created by Nick Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin and Jennifer Flackett, with Kroll also voicing the character Nick Birch.

The series has already been renewed through Season 6 and a spin-off series called Human Resources, which stars the monsters of Big Mouth, is currently in the works. There is currently no official word on when Season 4 of Big Mouth will be hitting Netflix.

Will Smith & Warner Bros. Hit With Lawsuit Over The Rights To “King Richard” Movie!
Will Smith and Warner Bros. have been hit with a new lawsuit over the upcoming film, “King Richard,” which is directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green and is based on the life of Venus and Serena Williams’ father Richard Williams.
In court docs filed in LA Superior Court this week, TW3 Entertainment and Power Move MultiMedia allege that they purchased rights to Williams’ 2014 memoir, “Black and White: The Way I See It,” for $10,000 from Williams’ son and business partner Chavoita Lesane in 2017. The parties are now seeking unspecified damages from the movie and an injunction that would require “all profits” for any project using the rights to be put into a trust for their benefit. Smith’s production company Overbrook Entertainment, Warner Bros., Richard Williams, Lesane, production company Star Thrower Entertainment, and several others are listed as defendants.
“King Richard” is currently scheduled to be released in late 2021. However, considering that the film has already been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, it could very well be pushed back again.

“Defendant Warner Bros. used Plaintiffs’ ideas and materials in King Richard, and such ideas and materials provide substantial value to Defendant,” the lawsuit states. The plaintiffs also point to their assessment of this case as representing a “cold and calculating misappropriation and interference” with their intellectual property.
The lawsuit also claims that Lesane had been granted power of attorney by his father for “purposes of dealing with film and media rights for his book.” Lesane was involved in the initial draft of the script detailing Williams’ life raising his two tennis star daughters, Venus and Serena. Shortly after, the elder Williams landed a deal to sell the rights to his life to the “King Richard” filmmakers for $1 million. The lawsuit claims that the defendants knew that studios founded by TW3 Founder Tom Walsh, and Knox, who founded Power Move, owned the rights to Williams’ book at the time they struck their new deal with filmmakers. However, the defendants never reached out to compensate nor credit them.

Overbrook nor Warner Bros. has commented on the lawsuit.

Over 30 Managers Of A-List Stars Unite To Launch Black Music Action Coalition Advocating For Change In The Music Industry!
Some of the music industry’s top music managers are hoping the industry will “put a plan for chance in place… within the next 30 days,” with the newly launched Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC).
According to Billboard, the BMAC is in alliance with advocacy organization #TheShowMustBePaused and pledges to see an advance in racial justice in the music industry but in society as well, including the mission for the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
On board for the call to change are over 30 artist managers, attorneys, business managers, agents as well as other industry professionals.

“We are encouraged by recent efforts by Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, Sony Music, Apple, YouTube, BMG and other industry participants,” the BMAC wrote in a statement geared towards the music industry. “However, we know that more needs to be done, and we must do it together.”
Moving forward, the coalition’s goal is to meet with each company’s CEO, senior management, and their head of newly formed task forces in order to “mutually develop a plan to address the deeply rooted systemic racism in our industry,” when it comes to Black artists and executives.

Furthermore, BMAC is requesting a say so in how funding supports the black community “because so few companies in the music industry are run by Black people. It is essential that the funds are used to benefit the Black community that the music industry has relied upon for so much of its success.”
The advisory board for BMAC consists of Clarence Avant, Quincy Jones, Azoff Company chairman/CEO Irving Azoff and entertainment attorney Ron Sweeney, the outlet reports.

“Many have come together in the past to address rampant racism in our business and society,” Avant said in a statement. “Never before, though, have I seen a moment when a cross-generational group of powerful Black artists, songwriters, producers, managers, agents, and lawyers have come together in this way, working as one, with a common, unified voice to root out racism. There is power in that union, promise in their vision, and hope that we can move meaningfully toward a more equal and just business and country. I’m inspired and glad to be part of it.”

Artists who have signed on and endorsed the coalition include artists who are represented by many of BMAC’s founding members including #NickiMinaj, #LadyGaga, #BillieEilish, #Offset, #LilNasX, #Khalid, #CardiB, #TravisScott, #PostMalone, #MissyElliott, #MaryJBlige, and #PDiddy.
“The industry that has profited the most off of Black culture must lead by example,” BMAC’s written letter added. “BMAC intends to hold you accountable and will keep track of the music industry’s efforts to clean up its own house.”

Jameela Jamil Calls Out 'Deluded' Kim Kardashian's 'Damaging & Disappointing' Corset Post!
Jameela Jamil is addressing Kim Kardashian‘s recent post wearing a corset.
In the original post, the 39-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians star showed off her smaller-than-ever waist in a Mr. Pearl corset.
“I’ve received over 1000 DMs asking me to address this. The reason I didn’t jump on it immediately isn’t because I don’t think the post was damaging and disappointing. I do. It’s because the fact that you’re all messaging me about it, shows my work is done. I havent been trying to cancel Kim K. I was always trying to arm YOU with the knowledge to recognize for YOURSELVES that this is a bulls–t expectation of women, developed by the patriarchy. If YOU know that it’s problematic, reductive and irresponsible for her to perpetuate such a heavily impossible beauty standard to her impressionable fans… then you’re empowered and conscious and don’t need me,” she wrote.

“Kim, like many of us, has had decades of body image issues and obsession. This has been HEAVILY perpetuated by how much the media scrutinized her and her sisters over their appearances. She isn’t actively trying to harm you. She’s just so harmed and deluded into thinking this is what SHE needs to look like to be special and beautiful and she’s spilling it out onto her following. Is this wrong? YES. But I’m not sure she realizes that she’s doing to others what her idols did to her, in making her think a tiny waist is the key to femininity and sex appeal. We grew up in the era of Heroin Chic, where we were told you HAD to look like an addict starving to death, so to go from that..to being bullied about your body by the world? This toxicity from someone who is smart and knows better, is a sign that this is harm she can’t stop doing,” she continued.

So there’s no point in screaming at her. The smart thing to do is to protect YOURSELF. YOU have the power. YOU control every Market. YOU choose what and who is trendy. Unfollow the people who tell you things that hurt your self esteem. Don’t let the debris of their damage spill out onto you. Unfollow people/brands that don’t make you feel powerful and happy and grateful for what you have. You’re the boss and none of them are s–t without you. THE PATRIARCHY WANTS US TO FOCUS ON OUR WEIGHT INSTEAD OF POWER, EQUALITY AND PSYCHOLOGICAL FREEDOM. FUCK ANYONE WHO ENCOURAGES THIS. BLOCK. MUTE. DELETE. REPEAT. Follow activists, writers, artists and comedians instead❤️

Netflix Renews Kenya Barris’ ‘#blackAF’ For Season 2!
Kenya Barris’ #blackAF is returning for a second season at Netflix.
The Black-ish creator will once again play an exaggerated version of himself, with Rashida Jones as his wife Joya, in the comedy.

Barris is a busy fella; the renewal comes days after Deadline revealed that he was teaming up with Happy singer Pharrell Williams to develop a Juneteenth musical feature for the streaming service.
He said, “I won’t really, really, really get into it until we’re in the room because I want it to be fresh, but I definitely know I want to talk about real shit. We want it to be really special.”
Inspired by Barris’ irreverent, highly flawed, unbelievably honest approach to parenting, relationships, race, and culture, #blackAF flips the traditional sitcom family on its head. Pulling back the curtain, the series uncovers and explores the messy, unapologetic and often hilarious world of what it means to be a ‘new money’ Black family trying to get it right in a modern world where ‘right’ is no longer a fixed concept.

Genneya Walton plays Chloe Barris, the effortlessly popular, under appreciative college student with an astounding level of entitlement. Iman Benson plays Drea Barris, the moral center and narrator of the show. Scarlet Spencer is Izzy Barris, who’s difficult for difficulty’s sake, a pain-in-the-ass contrarian whose lack of caring only makes people want to mess with her more. Justin Claiborne plays Pops Barris, as lovable as he is gullible. Ravi Cabot-Conyers is Cam Barris, a miscreant trouble maker and a pathological liar with the best laugh you’ve ever heard and a grin that lets him get away with anything. Richard Gardenhire Jr. recurs as Brooklyn Barris, who’s jarringly smart and well-spoken for a toddler.

Barris, Jones and Hale Rothstein exec produce the single-camera comedy through Barris’ production company, Khalabo Ink Society.

AND FINALLY FROM “THE CRAZY PEOPLE SHOPPING AT WALMART” FILES
‘THE BREAD MAN’
If the crazy pigeon lady from Home Alone 2 is looking for a spouse I think I might have the perfect match.
