On her first project since 2018’s K.T.S.E., the Harlem songstress calls on heavy-hitters including Ms. Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Quavo, Big Sean, Kehlani, and Davido. The 23-track set also features “Boomin” with Missy Elliott and Future, while Teyana’s 4-year-old daughter Junie appears on the Rick Ross-assisted “Come Back to Me.”“I cried that session,” she told Billboard of the emotional track. “Like honestly, there’s little pieces in each studio room that was difficult for so many reasons and not necessarily bad things, but it just emotionally really spoke to my heart.”
She decided to release the album on Juneteenth, a holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. “I’ve always been about us being celebrated and celebrating my culture and my people. For everything to happen, from my album getting delayed and it falls perfectly on Juneteenth, yes, it’s a celebration,” she said.

NASCAR says a noose was found in Bubba Wallace's team's garage at Talladega Speedway!
A noose was found in the garage stall of Darrell “Bubba” Wallace Jr. and the No. 43 Richard Petty Motorsports team Sunday at Talladega Superspeedway, NASCAR said in a statement released Sunday night.
“Late this afternoon, NASCAR was made aware that a noose was found in the garage stall of the 43 team. We are angry and outraged, and cannot state strongly enough how seriously we take this heinous act. We have launched an immediate investigation, and will do everything we can to identify the person(s) responsible and eliminate them from the sport. As we have stated unequivocally, there is no place for racism in NASCAR, and this act only strengthens our resolve to make the sport open and welcoming to all.”
Because of NASCAR’s COVID-19 regulations, only essential personnel have been permitted at the track during races, with NASCAR president Steve Phelps previously estimating that’s about 900 people, down from up to 2,500. That includes team members, NASCAR and track officials, safety crews and few media members, and access to the infield is limited.
Although NASCAR recently started allowing fans to attend, they are not allowed in the infield.
Wallace responded to Sunday night’s news with a statement on Twitter:
There were some protesters flying Confederate flags outside the central Alabama race track Sunday, however, and a plane was seen flying with a banner of the flag along with the text “Defund NASCAR.”
Additionally, Wallace ran a #BlackLivesMatter paint scheme at Martinsville Speedway the same day NASCAR banned the Confederate flag.
He also joined several other star drivers — including Earnhardt, Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, and Joey Logano — to make a video explaining their dedication to listening, learning and being an advocate for change. Denny Hamlin, who also took part in the video, will run a paint scheme dedicated to the National Civil Rights Museum, and his sponsor, FedEx, committed $500,000 to the museum.
The Cup Series race at Talladega was originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon, but it was postponed until Monday because of inclement weather.
Justin Bieber Addresses Sexual Assault Rumors In Series of Tweets: 'There Is No Truth To This Story'!
Justin Bieber is denying rumors that he was involved in a sexual assault that took place in 2014.
In a series of tweets, the 26-year-old musician shut down the rumors before they even had a chance to spread more.
“In the past 24 hours a new Twitter appeared that told a story of myself involved with sexual abuse on March 9, 2014 in Austin Texas at the Four seasons hotel,” Justin explained to fans. “I want to be clear. There is no truth to this story. In fact as I will soon show I was never present at that location.”
He continued, “As her story told I did surprise a crowd in Austin at Sxsw where I appeared on stage with my then assistant side stage and sang a few songs. What this person did not know was that I attended that show with my then gf Selena Gomez.”
Justin then backed up his statement with several news stories about him being with Selena Gomez, who he was with at the time, at the event.
This other star also denied claims he was also involved in a sexual assault a few years ago.
Tamar Braxton Responds To K. Michelle’s Affair Accusations!
K. Michelle and Tamar Braxton are back at it.
The R&B singers reignited their long-running feud this week. During an interview with social media personality TS Madison, Tamar was asked if she would be open to a Verzuz battle with K. Michelle. But instead of answering the question, she remained silent and rang a bell to avoid getting into a messy situation.
But that didn’t stop K. Michelle from interpreting her response as shade. She clapped back, calling Tamar a “bitch with no edges” and a “muppet.” She also accused her of sleeping with Jermaine Dupri’s father while he was married.
“You can’t f**king go around talking ’bout nobody when you were sleeping with a married man,” said the “Can’t Raise a Man” singer, according to The Shade Room. “You were sleeping with Jermaine Dupri’s daddy. How you sleep with Jermaine Dupri’s daddy? And get you’re ass beat by Jermaine Dupri’s momma in an elevator. But you want to talk to me? You want to talk about me? I don’t f**k married men. Hmm…but you so holy.”
Tamar’s boyfriend David Adefeso came to her defense in an emotional video. “I woke up this morning and there was one Black woman tearing another Black woman down,” he said during the couple’s YouTube show “Quarantined & Coupled.” “There is nothing we need more than to be united together right now. What I saw this morning made me sad because I saw one strong Black woman, strong good-looking Black woman, tear another strong good-looking Black woman down and it broke my heart.”
Adefeso also refuted K. Michelle’s allegations. “What makes me sad is Tamar now gotta defend herself against something which is false, against something which was concocted, against something which was meant to defame her character. As her man, it broke my heart.”
He continued by apologizing to his girlfriend. “I’m sorry for what happened. I gotta apologize. That shouldn’t have happened to you today.”
He then asked Tamar to address K. Michelle one last time, but she chose to say less and avoid any negativity. “I’m in a different place in my life. I don’t want to be a part of any negativity of any kind,” said Tamar. “So I’m going to keep ringing my bell ’cause that’s what works for me.”
However, K. Michelle wasn’t willing to let it go and responded by mocking Adefeso’s Nigerian accent in a Twitter voice note, which was later deleted.
Will Smith Says His Divorce From Sheree Zampino Was The “Ultimate Failure”!
Will Smith says his divorce from his first wife #ShereeZampino made him feel like a failure.
As #FathersDay approaches, a special #RedTableTalk aired to celebrate fatherhood. During the sit-down, Smith opened about divorce being the “worst thing” in his adult life. “Divorce was the ultimate failure for me. I’ve been hurt a lot in my adult life, but I don’t think anything touches the failure of getting divorced from my 2-year-old son’s mother.”
Smith and Zampino were married for three years and share one son together, Trey. In 1997, Smith married #JadaPinkettSmith, who he shares two children with, #WillowSmith and #JadenSmith. In a clip from the episode, which aired in full Sunday, the Smiths say they have discussed the idea that someone “might not be the best husband” but that it doesn’t mean they aren’t a “good father.” “With Sheree and with Trey, that was a really difficult time,” he admits.
Pinkett-Smith says she regrets dating Smith while he was still legally married to Zampino. “Because I did not understand marriage, I did not understand divorce, I probably should have fell back,” Pinkett-Smith said on an earlier episode of #RTT which Zampino, appeared as a guest on. In response to Pinkett-Smith, Zampino joked, “You think?”
Singer Alexandra Burke Speaks Out About How She Was Told To Bleach Her Skin After She Won 'X-Factor'!
Singer Alexandra Burke Speaks Out About How She Was Told To Bleach Her Skin After She Won 'X-Factor'
Alexandra Burke is opening up about the challenges she’s faced in the music industry as a Black person – both before and after she won X-Factor.
During an Instagram Live video, the 31-year-old singer talked about some of the biggest things she’s been told, including how she couldn’t wear her hair in braids or in an afro and more.
“This isn’t a video to bash anyone… this is simply me speaking about what I’ve been through in the past 11 years, and feeling like I’m not ashamed to speak about it,” Alexandra shared.
“The first experience that comes to my mind was when I was 16,” she recalled. “I went to the X-Factor twice, when I was 16 and when I was 19. And when I was 16 years old, I made it down to the judges’ houses and this person said to me, ‘You haven’t made it through, but give me a call in a couple of months and I’ll sign you.’”
“I remember calling this particular person and saying to him, ‘I’m in a position where I’m ready to start working, I’m eager, I’m good to go’ and the response that I got was, ‘I already have one Black artist. I don’t need another,’” Alexandra went on. “I wasn’t sure how to take that, to be honest. I still have to really take that in, even now, many years later. It really, really sucked to hear those words.”
She also recalls being told that because she was Black, “‘you are gonna have to work 10 times harder than a white artist because of the color of your skin.’”
“I got told to bleach my skin, and that was something I refused to do.,” she adds. “Because it’s just so absurd to me that somebody could even remotely say to someone, ‘Bleach your skin, so that you could look whiter. Still, ’til this moment, it breaks my heart that I was told that. I’m trying to hold back the tears, because it’s really heartbreaking, the s*** that went on.”
Alexandra added, “I was only 19 years old, there’s only so much you can understand when your life [has] completely changed overnight. That was quite hard to digest.”
This other celebrity just recently called out skin lightening advertisements.
Chris Brown Shares Adorable Vid Of Daughter Royalty Airbrushing A 'BLM' Sign!
Chris Brown and Nia Guzman are nurturing their 6-year-old daughter, Royalty Brown's artistic skills and teaching her the importance of activism.
The "No Guidance" singer shared a super cute video of the young activist on Sunday. Royalty seemed to be having a great time using the airbrush to design her own Black Lives Matter sign. Royalty's mom filmed the clip but Chris, being the proud papa that he is, shared the video so his 67 million fans can experience a little cuteness overload.
Daddy Chris has been know to get down with an airbrush and do some graffiti art from time to time but it seems like he isn't the only one in the family that caught the art bug.
"I'm making a sign that says 'Black Lives Matter.'" Roro explained when her mom asked her what she was doing.
Brown was obviously taken with the adorable video and put out some positive vibes on Sunday. "Lol, teach them young," was written on the short clip.
Royalty has had an exciting couple of weeks! Not only did she have an awesome 6th birthday party (we will get to that below), she also graduated kindergarten earlier this month!
Holding up her diploma, Royalty posed with her certificate while visiting her Los Angeles school to say goodbye to her teacher one last time. She celebrated the moment by taking several pics that featured a big smile and a chic Versace dress. As you can imagine, mommy was super proud and told her to throw up the deuces because she is a first-grader now.
As we previously mentioned, Royalty has been the focus of multiple celebrations recently. Mommy and daddy reunited for her 6th birthday party at the end of May. Having no problem co-parenting, Nia and Chris posed for pictures with their little girl and made her birthday extra special.
"#RoRoTurnsTheBigSix ... yesterday was everything but amazing. Family Over Everything," Nia captioned a series of fun pictures from the party.
Chris shared a photo of the festivities and wrote, "LOVE YOU RORO!❤️"

Jamie Foxx Calls Out Tyrese Gibson Over Bizarre White Slaves in South Africa Post!
*Tyrese Gibson is catching heat over a series of Instagram posts about reverse racism and white slaves in South Africa.
He even managed to piss off Jamie Foxx on Thursday with his bizarre messages amid rising racial tensions in the country.
It all started when Gibson advised his IG followers to watch a YouTube video about the reverse racism in South Africa.
“The flip……. Get to YouTube this is what’s going on in South Africa…….” he captioned a since-deleted four picture montage, per TooFab.
Here’s more from the outlet:
One showed a group of white men in chains with a Black slave-owner carrying a gun; one showed a white servant breastfeeding a Black baby for a wealthy Black woman; one showed a white girl choosing from rows of black dolls in a store; and one showed a group of Asian women getting pedicures from white workers.
The post caught the attention of many South Africans, including national celebs Bonang Matheba and Dineo Langa, who dragged the actor for his woefully uninformed comments.
Tyrese followed up with a video entitled “What The Left Won’t Tell You About The Plight Of Black People And The Myth Of Systemic Racism” — and he captioned the clip “Touchy touchy….. Who’s view do you agree with?”
According to the report, the 13-minute compilation video featured interviews with Black actors such as Morgan Freeman, Lil Wayne, Denzel Washington and Anthony Mackie — that was apparently edited out of context into a montage of racism denial.
The clip caught the attention of Foxx.
“Huh????” Foxx replied with a shocked emoji. “WTF is this post for??”
“I’m confused,” he added.
“Race doesn’t matter???!! Look at what we goin threw right now… what does this post mean?? Who is this for??” [sic]
“Again I say! What is this post for??? During this horrific time for us? Why are we even talking about what these guys are saying from the comfort of a press junket?? Cmon man we can’t be this comfortable. Think about the pain these families are going threw Because of the color of their skin..”
Tyrese later posted a half hour-long video explaining himself, and he captioned the clip: “Dear South Africa πΏπ¦This is my response to what has now become controversial- Love and light always! [ shout to team short attention span ] Ha!”
He has yet to respond to Foxx directly.
2020 ESPYS Award Winners: The Complete List!
The 2020 ESPYs were Sunday Night and as one would expect from sport's biggest night—it's going to be a virtual event to remember.
As the world continues to navigate a "new normal" amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, this year's ESPYs are going to look a little different. For starters, instead of host, the show will go on with three sports starts running the show: Seattle Storm point guard Sue Bird, OL Reign winger Megan Rapinoe and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.
Ahead of this weekend's ESPYs, the three hosts promised that they will acknowledge the conversations happening around race and inequality as it pertains to sports. "When it comes to issues surrounding race and inequality, we're all aligned," Bird shared during a conference call earlier last week. "This isn't something we shy away from."
Rapinoe agreed and added that the ESPYs believes in highlighting the myriad ways that sports intersects with race, culture, gender and sexuality, while also giving "people a chance to have a night where they get to smile."
During The ESPYs, the Seattle Seahawks quarterback kicked off the evening by acknowledging several trailblazing Black athletes who paved the way for many in the sports community.
"What if we didn't know their names? What if they were never a part of the conversation?" Wilson asked while wearing a Black Lives Matter t-shirt. "And there's also this conversation: 'I can't breathe. I can't breathe.' Those were George Floyd's last words…Our country's work is not anywhere close to done. We need justice."
However, because the ESPYs are happening amid the global pandemic, many awards will not be given out.
According to Jeff Smith, the vice president of entertainment at MaggieVision Productions, the company behind ESPY Awards, the only awards that will be given out this year are the "narrative awards," highlighting narratives of public services or courage.
"We can't really give out a best team award when the teams haven't finished their seasons, and you can't have a best moment when there was no Masters or Wimbledon," Smith explained. "It wouldn't be fair of us to anoint winners for things when everybody didn't exist on a level playing field."
So without further ado, scroll below for the full list of ESPYs Award winners and finalists this year!
