#RHOA: Is Cynthia Bailey’s Fiance Mike Hill Sending The Wrong Message with the cover of his new book?
Mike Hill revealed on a recent episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta that he was coming out with a book. The read that has been titled ‘Open Book’ finally has a cover — and it may not be what you’d expect.
Mike did a cover reveal to his followers which include some RHOA fans. The first thing you see on the front of the memoir is a shirtless Mike.

He captioned the Instagram photo: ‘**Please read the caption to understand** Tonight, with the help of my beautiful fiancé,@cynthiabailey10 I unveiled the cover of my soon to be released book “Open Mike”. There’s meaning to why I wanted “this” cover. I’m stripped down because I’m unveiling my truths. I want to symbolize vulnerability and express to everyone that I no longer have anything to hide, after so many years of doing just that. My head is slightly bowed because I’m not proud of many of the things I’ve done but I’m also coming out of the shadows, no longer running away from the traumas and pains that’s caused me to hurt others, including myself. The back is to show how far I’ve come and an expression of how thankful I have someone who has my back and along with God has me covered. My body itself signifies I’ve come along way but I still have work to do!In broadcasting one of the first rules is to be careful what you say around an “Open Mic”. I’ve decided to go against that rule in hopes of helping others, even if it’s at my detriment. I pray it does.’
Although the sports commentator explained why he was literally stripped down, there were some who thought that it was inappropriate.
One commentator said: ‘To be honest to me the cover looks like that of a perfume ad or something that needs sex to sell. I would have preferred a picture of you wearing a t-shirt or suit because you’re an interesting, educated and professional man who doesn’t need to strip down. But it’s your decision and I’d really like to listen to open Mike as an audiobook, if you think of doing one!’
Another added: ‘Blessed beyond measure! Wrong cover… too sexy.. folks won’t take u serious!!! You & ur fiancé are gorgeous but WRONG MESSAGE! Go back in n prayer on that! Love u guys!!!! I’m a fan!!’

While this follower pointed out: ‘And you wanted everyone to see how your body looks. And that’s okay.’
What do you think about Mike’s book cover?

Today, Motown Records released “Lie To Me,” the new single from three-time GRAMMY®-nominee KEM. “Lie To Me” is from KEM’s forthcoming album – the follow-up to 2014’s Promise To Love, which debuted at No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-hop Albums chart and entered the Billboard 200 at No. 3. The album contained the hit singles “Nobody” and “It’s You,” which each spent multiple weeks atop the Urban AC radio chart. “Nobody” earned KEM his third GRAMMY nomination. In 2015, Mediabase named “Nobody” as the Urban Adult Contemporary Song of the Year and KEM as the Urban Adult Contemporary Artist of the Year. Snoop Dogg and Ronald Isley were featured artists on Promise To Love. Since the release of Promise To Love, KEM has married and welcomed two children, inspiring a deeper devotion to family, faith and music.

The Houston Chronicle said, “‘Promise To Love’ is packed with the type of candlelit R&B serenades that the Nashville-born, Detroit-bred singer has built his career on….The music feels timeless…but it still pulses with urgency.” SoulTracks.com noted, “Sensuality, spirituality and homespun wisdom…delivered atop elegant ballads and meticulous, mid-tempo grooves: KEM’s signature style has…endeared him to fans of ‘grown and sexy’ R&B.”

#HipHopNews: DaBaby's 'Blame It On Baby' Debuts At No. 1 On Billboard 200!
DaBaby got another one. Billboard reports the North Carolina rapper’s third album, Blame It On Baby, landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The album, featuring the likes of Megan Thee Stallion, Quavo, Ashanti and others, sold 124,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
It’s the “BOP” rapper’s second consecutive No. 1 album following 2019’s Kirk, which debuted with 146,000 units.

Blame It On Baby was a streaming monster upon its release, racking up 158 million on-demand streams and continued a trend of R&B and Hip Hop albums dominating the Billboard chart. The Weeknd, who previously held the No. 1 album for five weeks with After Hours, landed at No. 2 this week, followed by Lil Uzi Vert’s Eternal Atake, which was No. 1 for one week back in March.

Jussie Smollett Donates Over $30K To Supply Masks, Care Packets And Emergency Relief Housing!
Well that’s a good thing! Jussie Smollett is giving back — to the tune of upwards of $30K, his efforts are supplying PPE in hospitals and emergency housing for women and children affected by domestic violence during the COVID19 pandemic.
Sources say Smollet’s donation has served to supply over 10,000 masks and care packets to such facilities as Harlem Hospital in New York City, Cook County Hospital in Chicago, the Clinic for Us in Lemeirt Park through the Black AIDS Institute as well as supplying emergency relief housing for women and children affected by domestic violence through the Jenesse Center during the time of COVID19.

“He has no idea how much this has helped us,” a nurse at Harlem Hospital said of Smollett. “He’s helping to protect the lives of people who are saving lives. And he called us personally and did it quietly without posturing.”

It’s great to see people stepping up and helping other during these difficult times.

Rihanna is the best lingerie salesperson in the history of the business, and her sales pitch is simple...just posted yourself wearing it every once and a while and send the internet into meltdown mode!!

#AHS Ryan Murphy Teases Return Of ‘American Horror Story’s Rubber Man!
There’s a familiar face returning to the 10th season of American Horror Story — so it seems. Ryan Murphy took to Instagram on Sunday and posted a picture of the iconic Rubber Man, who has appeared in multiple seasons of the FX anthology since the first installment, Murder House.
Murphy posted a picture of the Rubber Man with the caption, “Coming soon.” In the past seasons multiple characters have donned this latex suit including Dylan McDermott, Zachary Quinto, Cody Fern and Evan Peters — who returns for the 10th season after sitting out AHS: 1984. Feel free to tell us your theories.
The new season has been veiled in secrecy, but what we do know that Macaulay Culkin is joining the cast the includes AHS mainstays Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Adina Porter, Lily Rabe, Angelica Ross, Finn Wittrock and Peters.

Last month, Murphy gave us another tease last month with a poster that featured a pair of creepy hands that seem to be clawing up a bluff with the ocean in the background. The caption cryptically said “Things are beginning to wash up on shore…”

Kevin Hart is Joking about Regina Hall’s Makeup-Free, Messy-Hair Look!
Regina Hall warned Kevin Hart that under the eyeglasses and mask that covered her head and face was zero makeup and unruly hair, but he insisted that fans wanted to see her beautiful quarantined self, no matter what.

But then the glasses and mask came off… and the expression on Hart’s face said it all.
The comedians teamed up for an appearance on BET’s “Saving Our Selves” COVID-19 fundraiser earlier this week, and when Hall answered her Facetime call from Hart, her face, head and neck were all covered in protective gear, making her totally incognito.
“What are you doing?” a shocked Hart asked her. “People don’t want to see you host a show with their mask on!”

“I’m not ready, I couldn’t do my hair — I didn’t have no wig glue because they said it’s not essential,” she answered. Hart encouraged her to take the mask off because, he said, “People love you. People want to see Miss Hall! Go ahead, take it off.”
And so she did, revealing her makeup-free face and messy hair pulled back into a ponytail. A stunned Hart stared at her with an “ew” look on his face, a reaction no woman wants to ever be on the receiving end of.
“What is it? What is it?” she asked, horrified at his reaction.
“Regina, you know what — who’s the pretty girl? Where she at?” he said reassuringly.
“Here she is! Here she is!” Hall said, half-heartedly.

The “Saving Ourselves: BET COVID-19 Relief Effort” Show in partnership with United Way Worldwide supports African Americans who have been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ex-‘Hardball’ host Chris Matthews admits to ‘inappropriate’ behavior at MSNBC!
Former MSNBC “Hardball” host Chris Matthews has spoken out publicly for the first time since retiring amid sexual-harassment allegations nearly two months ago — and admits he was “inappropriate” and even found his accuser’s story “very credible.”

“I didn’t argue about it, I didn’t deny it,” Matthews told Vanity Fair magazine of journalist Laura Bassett’s claim that she was harassed by the cable TV star.
Bassett wrote in a column for GQ magazine in late February that during one uncomfortable encounter with the married Matthews in 2016, as she was getting ready for an appearance on his show, he “looked over at me in the makeup chair next to him and said, ‘Why haven’t I fallen in love with you yet?’ ”
Matthews abruptly resigned from “Hardball” — after a 20-year run that had recently included other controversial comments — three days later.
At the time, Matthews said of the #MeToo movement, “A lot of it has to do with how we talk to each other, compliments on a woman’s appearance, that some men, including me, might have once incorrectly thought were OK, were never OK. … I’m sorry.”

The former TV host told Vanity Fair, “I accepted the credibility of the complaint in [Bassett’s] article.
“I didn’t want to challenge the person that made the complaint and wrote the article. I thought it was very credible and certainly within the person’s rights to write that article, of course. That was highly justified.
“Basically, as I said, to repeat myself, it’s inappropriate in the workplace to compliment somebody on their appearance, this is in the makeup chair, and I did it.”
As for politics, his speciality as a commentator and show host, Matthews couldn’t resist talking about President Trump’s chances against his Democratic foe, Joe Biden.

“I’d be more surprised [with] a Trump victory than a Biden victory,” Matthews said. Still, Biden must “prove himself,” the former host said.
“For a while in the primary, I thought all the people wanted was a designated driver, somebody to get us home safely,” he said.
“Now, I think people want a little better than the designated driver. They want to have someone who can command the helm and make the big decisions in the interest of the country.

“It’s going to take a leader. We got to see if Biden’s up to it.”

Billy Porter's New Video 'For What It's Worth' Will Make You Wanna Shout!
If there’s one thing Pose star Billy Porter knows it’s that music has the ability to move and inspire. It’s what he’s hoping will happen with his latest lyric music video, which just so happens to be a soul-infused cover of Canadian rock band Buffalo Springfield’s “For What It’s Worth.” The Emmy, Grammy and Tony Award winner wants to push people to the polls in November.
“I’ve always been a political person. I come from the generation where the music reflected what was going on in the world, in the day,” Porter said in a statement.

“I decided to record ‘For What It’s Worth’ because I wanted to have my art and my music matter, make a difference,” he explained. “The song was written and performed sort of during the Civil Rights Era, the Vietnam War, it was protest music and I wanted to have a hand in bringing that back and speaking truth directly to power.”
One person who is already singing the cover’s praises is the song’s writer, Stephen Stills, who said he was “proud and delighted” when he heard the rendition.

“For many years no one tried to ‘make it theirs’ as covers are supposed to do. That an artist of Billy’s caliber has chosen to add his flourish to my song from so many years ago is totally in keeping with what I intended,” the guitar player added.
While the novel coronavirus may distract people from voting in November, Porter hopes that his music will resharpen everyone’s focus on the task at hand.

“While we’re all stuck at home, now is a great time to make sure you’re registered to vote,” Porter said. “The election is comin,’ y’all. Let’s get ready and stay ready.”
“I hope people are inspired to not give up, to continue to have hope, and to understand that the only way change comes is for the people to come together and demand it,” he concluded.

‘God Friended Me’ Canceled After Two Seasons On CBS!
CBS has opted to end drama God Friended Me after two seasons. I hear the decision was made early enough so the series’ creative team had time to craft the Season 2 finale as a series finale and give the show, from Warner Bros. TV and Berlanti Prods., a proper ending.

“We’re extremely proud of the unique concept and uplifting stories God Friended Me has told over the past two seasons,” CBS and WBTV said in a joint statement. “We thank the brilliant cast, writers, production team and crew for a show that stirred thoughtful conversation about faith, life and happiness, and made viewers feel good at the end of each episode. The creative team behind the show has one last “friend suggestion” in mind, as well as an ending we hope brings a satisfying conclusion to Miles’ journey in search of the God Account.”

While never a strong demo draw, the supernaturally themed God Friended Me had attracted sizable audiences. It was a breakout, ranking as one of the top three most watched new series last season with 10 million viewers and improving its Sunday time period significantly to earn a Season 2 renewal.

Like a slew of other series suffering a sophomore slump, God Friended Me‘s numbers have gone down. However, the current Hollywood shutdown, which has thrown all broadcast pilots in limbo, had been expected to give a boost to the renewal chances of bubble shows like God Friended Me.
God Friended Me is a humor-tinged uplifting drama about Miles Finer (Hall), an outspoken atheist whose life is turned upside down when he receives a friend request on social media from “God” and unwittingly becomes an agent of change in the lives and destinies of others around him.

The series also stars Violett Beane, Suraj Sharma, Javicia Leslie, Joe Morton and Erica Gimpel. It is produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios. The series was created by Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt. Greg Berlanti, Steven Lilien, Bryan Wynbrandt, Sarah Schechter and Marcos Siega are the executive producers for Warner Bros. Television.

Texas Mayor Apologizes For Violating Stay At Home Order To Go To The Nail Salon!
Beaumont Mayor Becky Ames has apologized after a photo of her going to a closed salon made its rounds on social media.
Ames violated her own stay at home order, and the violation has sparked an investigation by the district attorney.
According to NBC News, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott issued a stay-at-home order and closed all nonessential businesses, including nail salons. But, on April 2, Beaumont Mayor Ames had already issued a similar order for her city a week earlier than the Governor on March 27th.
But someone caught the mayor in a photo taken at “The Nail Bar” in Beaumont last Tuesday, wearing a face mask as she’s seated at a table with her hands soaking in a bowl.
The now infamous photo has brought about heavy criticism of Mayor Ames for disobeying her order in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.
Mayor Ames issued an apology on Thursday calling her salon visit, a “lapse in judgement.”

“I promise there was no malice intended,” she wrote in a statement. “I should never have entered the salon last Tuesday. I did not intend to take personal privilege while asking others to sacrifice, and for that, I am truly remorseful.

NBA to open practice facilities in cities where stay-at-home restrictions are loosening!
Could this be the start to some sort of normalcy around the NBA? The league will allow teams to open their practice facilities to players in cities and states in which the local government has eased stay-at-home orders on Friday, ESPN is reporting. The report said this doesn’t mean it’s imminent that the season will resume. Teams will still be prohibited from organizing team activities and having group workouts.
On April 17, commissioner Adam Silver said he was unsure if teams will play again this season due to the coronavirus pandemic. While Silver won’t give a timeline, there’s a sense that the league could know by June if and how many games will be canceled.

The 76ers practice in Camden, and New Jersey’s stay-at-home order has no specific end date. The Inquirer reported Saturday night the state isn’t close to opening. However, the state’s relax estimate is May 27. New Jersey has been under a stay-at-home order since March 21.
“Public health must come before we can begin to restart our economy,” New Jersey governor Phil Murphy said on Saturday. “We cannot let up, we cannot let a beautiful spring day like this prevent our social distancing. There will be many other spring days to come, and we can enjoy them together. But not now.”
Despite warnings of health experts, several states have either started or announced plans to allow previously shuttered businesses to operate again. Those states are Georgia, Alaska, Colorado, Montana, Minnesota, North Dakota, Mississippi, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and parts of Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania governor Tom Wolf hopes to re-open the north-central and northwest regions of the state on May 8. Philadelphia is expected to be one of the last regions to re-open due to it being a hot spot.
Globally, there have been around 2,868,600 COVID-19 cases and 201,500 deaths. There have been approximately 956,000 confirmed cases and 53,700 deaths in the United States.
In New Jersey, 3,457 residents tested positive Saturday, bringing the state’s total to 105,523. Of those, 5,863 have died. Hospitalization in South Jersey has been slightly on the rise since April 14.

The new expectation is the NBA might not resume until July, if at all. Silver told TNT on April 7 that the league won’t have enough information to make a decision until May at the earliest. But last week, he said there’s no cutoff date in regards to canceling the season and returning on preparing for the 2020-21 campaign.

The league’s practice facilities have been closed since March 20

Jason Mitchell Explains Away His Latest Arrest!
Last week Straight Outta Compton star Jason Mitchell was arrested on felony drugs and gun charges after he was pulled over in Mississippi

Jason denies responsibility...
According to reports Jason Mitchell claims the car he was driving was a borrowed rental and its contents, 2 guns, 2 pounds of marijuana and 1,300 doses of MDMA, did not belong to him.
Jason was pulled over for driving erratically and told officers he was headed to his mother's house because where he had been sheltering in place for the COVID19 quarantine had become unsafe.

Jason's passenger, a woman and her child, was allowed to leave without being charged.

The case is ongoing.

Pastor Tony Spell Holds Crowded Church Service While Under House Arrest
Pastor Tony Spell is completely immune to the law. The Louisiana pastor defied authorities by holding another crowded church service- despite being on “house arrest.”
According to TMZ, Spell blatantly displayed his ankle bracelet to his congregation during Sunday’s service, telling his followers that it was a shame that people have to “hide.” He proudly told all those in attendance, “I’m not hiding anymore.”

Pastor Spell was fitted with an ankle bracelet after he failed to ensure to the court that he’d follow social distancing protocol that is currently in effect.

Central Police announced six misdemeanor charges against Spell in late March– one for each church service he allegedly held against governor’s orders amid the coronavirus lockdowns.
Last week,  he was booked again – this time for allegedly backing up a church bus towards a protester.
Spell told congregants who’ve attended services to refrain from touching each other and to stay home if they’re sick.

“God gave you an immune system to kill the virus,” Spell told his flock Sunday morning. “I’m not going to bind the virus,” he said.
