Gal Gadot for Vogue US - May 2020!
when Vogue magazine revealed that its May cover star was Gal Gadot, the general reaction online seemed to be this: oops.
Before the coronavirus pandemic, the Israeli actress was perhaps best known for her role as Wonder Woman. But we live in a very different world now — one in which Gadot’s name and face are unfortunately tied to a train-wreck viral video in which she and a handful of other celebrities sing John Lennon’s “Imagine.” It was bad, and an easy target for people looking to displace all their pent-up frustrations. The Times likened Gadot’s opening performance to that of “a joyfully sadistic nurse about to administer a gruesome shot.”
Unfortunately, Vogue never imagined that the world would be turned upside down by a global pandemic. (Our own government didn’t, so we can hardly blame the magazine for not seeing this coming.) It also never imagined that its cover star would be the face of how not to deal with this crisis. A new introduction to Gadot’s profile, which reads almost like an apology, helps explain that magazines are planned months in advance, with most publications now scrambling to produce remotely. “This story, reported before COVID-19 began to take hold in the U.S., went to press as profound changes to daily life were being seen across the country,” it reads.
Also unfortunately for Vogue — and this one is on the magazine — its profiles tend to offer only the most glowing portraits of their subjects. The opening line to the Gal Gadot piece says it all: “Spending time with Gal Gadot is an exercise in nonchalance,” writes Jonathan Van Meter, who admits by the end of the first paragraph (after describing how carefree Gadot seems while cruising in her Tesla) that “it feels wrong” to call their encounter an interview. “It’s a hang, really,” he says. Oof.
It’s hard to get through an endorsement of celebrity nonchalance right now, and the timing is especially awkward, given that one of the main criticisms of the “Imagine” video was its tone-deafness (and not just the musical kind). As Vogue explained though, Gal Gadot, “like every one of us,” has been affected by COVID-19. Her children’s school closed, and her projects are on hold, including the June release of Wonder Woman 1984.
Sometime in mid-March, Vogue reached out to Gadot for an addendum. (Gadot shared the “Imagine” video on March 18.) “Obviously the circumstances are horrible and frightening, but we’re home and we’re trying to make the best of it — to enjoy the quality time,” she said. “It’s so surreal. I’ve never been through times like these. But I’m also full of hope for when it will be behind us.”

The couple, who just celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary earlier this month, had one of their most emotional discussions ever in the April 5 episode of RHOA when Todd confronted Kandi about her professional commitments and the lack of time she had been spending with him and their children.
Kandi shared an update on her work-life balance during The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 12 After Show, which you can view, above. "It's still not going well," Kandi admitted.
However, Kandi said that her family knows that she's working in order to provide a good life for them all. "You know what, the way I look at it is the fans and other people don't understand, but my family understands, and that's what matters to me," she shared. "And I'm happy that my husband, he knows that I'm gonna be out of town for a long period of time, he could be there with the kids, plus our million help[ers]."
Of course, Kandi said she wishes she could be there for all of her family's special moments. "There are moments that, I'm not gonna lie, that I'm like, 'Oh my god, I cannot believe I had to miss this!'" she said. "But it happens."
Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like Kandi will be slowing down much in the near future. "Yes, I do work a lot," she said in the After Show. "Is [that] ever going to change anytime soon? Probably not."

“SexBeat” follows Usher’s Ella Mai-assisted single “Don’t Waste My Time,” for which he debuted a video last month. He is now readying a new album, his first since 2016’s Hard II Love, which may feature the recently-teased “Confessions Part III.”

ESPN’s Brian Windhorst shared that the league has a plan in place when the country starts to re-open after the coronavirus has been managed and eradicated.

“In talking to executives and trainers around the league, what they’re looking at is a 25-day return to basketball window,” Brian said on ESPN on Sunday. “An 11-day series of individual workouts. …and then hopefully, if the clearance comes that they can play five-on-five basketball, a 14-day training camp.”
He added, “So as you hope for the country to heal and the virus to get better, look for at least about a three-and-a-half to four-week return date before you’d ever get back to games.”

First Wave Of Stimulus Checks Has Been Deposited By The IRS!
The Internal Revenue Service said on Saturday that they sent out the first wave of stimulus checks to Americans.
“#IRS deposited the first Economic Impact Payments into taxpayers’ bank accounts today. We know many people are anxious to get their payments; we’ll continue issuing them as fast as we can,” the agency shared via Twitter on Saturday.
According to CNN, deposits will continue in the days ahead, starting with people who have filed their tax returns for 2018 or 2019 and authorized direct deposit. Others — including people who haven’t filed returns, authorized direct deposits, or receive Social Security — will probably have to wait weeks or months before receiving their money.
The IRS urges those who haven’t filed a return for either 2019 or 2018 to do so quickly, including those who don’t normally need to file a tax return. Even those individuals who earned less than $12,200 in 2019 and couples who earned less than $24,400.
According to a House Democratic memo, the IRS expects to begin issuing paper checks the week of May 4th.
Paper checks will be issued at a rate of about 5 million per week, the memo said and will be based on adjusted gross income, with Individuals with the lowest income set to receive their checks first.

Katy Perry Says ‘American Idol’ Will “Have To Be Really Creative” With Live Shows!
Before ABC aired Sunday night’s episode of American Idol pop singer and judge Katy Perry took to Facebook — in an appropriate Easter Bunny costume — to answer questions about this season of the reality singing competition. The one thing on everyone’s mind: how are they going to continue production with live shows while the entire world are in quarantine.
Right out of the gate, Facebook users asked this question and it seemed that ABC are still exploring options when it comes to their live shows. “We’re gonna all have to be really creative — I know we are going to be really creative,” said Perry form the comfort of a car. She adds that viewers will have to tune in to see what her and the rest of the American Idol crew — including fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie can do from their individual homes. “We’ll see how this goes.”
Since the coronavirus pandemic, ABC has shifted scheduling for American Idol. The network is spreading its Hawaii-set episodes on March 29 and April 5. The live shows were set to air on April 6 but instead was be replaced by two repeats of Celebrity Family Feud, followed by a primetime special, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Secrets & Surprises.

Gucci Mane Faces Backlash Over Insensitive Coronavirus Tweet!
While most of the country is under quarantine to stay safe during the coronavirus pandemic, rapper Gucci Mane seemed to make light of the deadly disease in a tweet on Sunday morning.
“I pray my haters die of corona virus,” he posted early on Sunday.
The post immediately caused a stir on Twitter, resulting in more than 2,000 comments on his tweet. While it’s unclear how serious he was about the message, many people sounded off in the comments, especially with its timing on Easter Sunday.
“Man you need some online church services and a hug. This is the worst timed tweet ever. There are people actually mourning the loss of loved ones now, due to the virus. Bad movie big homie,” responded American mixed martial artist Gerald Harris.
More than 112,000 people around the world have died due to coronavirus and there have been more than 1.8 million reported cases, as of Sunday. The United States has the most confirmed deaths from the virus out of any country in the world. There have been more than 21,000 deaths and nearly 555,000 confirmed cases in the U.S. as of Sunday.
Shelter-in-place rules have been enacted around the country, and many restaurants, movie theaters and other stores have been shut down for weeks, some of them permanently. Los Angeles residents have been ordered to stay at home until at least May 15
Justin Timberlake Angers Parents With '24-Hour Parenting Is Just Not Human' Complaint Amid Coronavirus Pandemic!
Under normal circumstances, singer Justin Timberlake would be busy promoting his new movie, Trolls World Tour. Instead, he and wife Jessica Biel are at home under self-quarantine during the coronavirus pandemic with their 5-year-old son, Silas, in Montana. In a radio interview Wednesday, Timberlake joked that parenting 24 hours a day is "just not human." That comment set off a conversation among parents who did not appreciate the joke.
"We're mostly commiserating over the fact that just 24-hour parenting is just not human," Timberlake joked during a stop on the SiriusXM show The Morning Mash Up. "He gets a look," Timberlake said with his eyes opening wide open. "I'm like, 'Alright, cool, let's take a 20." The hosts laughed, and Timberlake added, "Alright, I got you. You know what I mean? Just a commercial break."
Timberlake and the show hosts might have thought this was a joke, but many on Twitter were not laughing, especially since Timberlake shared a beautiful photo of the Montana property where they are self-isolating. His comments inspired many social media users to share the difficulties they face at home with their children, which is nothing compared to what the millionaire celebrities likely face.
"I had 2 kids under 4. Husband away for work, no fam for 3000miles. No car. Working. Biked to work until I had to quit bc daycare cost too much. Tell me again how 24/7 parenting is hard. Ever have to take a kid to ER on a city bus? Didnt think so," one person tweeted to Timberlake. Another told him to "Suck it up buttercup!"
Universal Pictures released Trolls World Tour digitally on Friday, skipping a theatrical release due to the coronavirus pandemic. Timberlake reprised his role as Branch from the first Trolls movie, while Anna Kendrick returned as Poppy. During a virtual stop on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Timberlake admitted it is a "surreal time for sure."
"For me and my family, our biggest concern right now is we just want to do our part, staying in, staying put, trying to stay positive," Timberlake later told Fallon, reports USA Today. "We're finding the silver lining. This is one of those times where you get to spend a lot of time with your family."
