Jane Fonda for Elle Canada - March 2020!
Jane Fonda on Aging, Climate Change and Finally Living Life For Herself. Even while getting arrested, Jane Fonda looks sensational. Lately, she has been working an assortment of chic berets and excellent coats—in particular a bold-red trench to better focus the camera’s eye, since she knows images will travel further and faster than her voice can. The social-media-savvy 82-year-old has been putting herself on the line for climate change in Washington, D.C., since the fall with her Fire Drill Fridays along with famous pals like Sam Waterston and Ted Danson. Every week, she has been led away in (ironically, single-use) plastic zip cuffs.

It’s a good thing, then, that Fonda is double-jointed. She confides this little nugget over mescal in Toronto in early September. It’s the secret to how she wrested her hands free from cuffs in order to give the raised-fist solidarity salute in her mug shot after her first arrest, in 1970 in Cleveland. Purportedly at the behest of Richard Nixon himself, Fonda was detained as she returned from a speaking tour in Canada for carrying vitamins—assumed to be drugs—in a plastic bag. She was exonerated, but those first arrest pics—featuring the choppy mullet from Klute, the film for which Fonda won her first Oscar—live on as legend.
The other (then) secret she shares is that she negotiated a four-month leave from her hit Netflix series, Grace and Frankie, in order to carry out her front-line work in Washington. Inspired by Greta Thunberg and Canadian author and social activist Naomi Klein—her “guru”—Fonda feels compelled, she explains, to “disrupt [her] comfortable life.” As she sees it, Klein’s new book, On Fire: The Burning Case for a Green New Deal, is the manifesto, the road map forward.

“They chose me not in spite of my age but because of my age.”
Fonda is in Toronto doing appearances as a proud spokesperson for L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect. “They chose me not in spite of my age but because of my age,” Fonda writes on her personal site. “They are committed to the idea that beauty is not simply in the young and model-perfect but in all people regardless of ethnicity or age.”

When we sit down to chat for this interview, it is approaching 7 p.m.; Fonda is finally ensconced in a private dining room at the Shangri-La Hotel after shaking hands and giving speeches and interviews for almost 12 hours straight. Her remarkable posture hasn’t flagged. In this era, when slouchy is the default, Fonda’s bearing alone marks her as special, regal even. The effect is amplified by her capacity to speak in complete, beautifully constructed and carefully-thought-out sentences, her intelligence crackling as loudly as her charisma.
Fonda has been…well, the only word is “relevant” for six decades. The daughter of acting legend Henry Fonda, she entered the public consciousness as a model in 1959, appearing on the cover of Vogue in an image shot by Irving Penn. After some New York stage work and training with the ultimate method-acting coach, Lee Strasberg, Fonda emerged as the sex kitten of ’60s French cinema. At the time, she was married to Roger Vadim, who directed her in 1968’s high-camp sci-fi classic Barbarella.

#RHOA Teasips: So NeNe Reportedly Lost Big Chunk Of Her Salary On This Season’s Real Housewives of Atlanta?
It’s not hard to notice that NeNe Leakes hasn’t exactly been a feature on this season of Real Housewives of Atlanta, even though she’s billed as a full-time cast member. Despite her lack of presence, she knows how to keep her relationship with her fellow Housewives full of drama, which makes one wonder just how much screen time the ATL OG needs anyway.

It’s recently been released that NeNe has hired a high powered attorney to help her with….well, we don’t know exactly. NeNe announced on Instagram that she is working with the famed Lisa Bloom so she can “make some noise”. Whatever that means. She’s also been spilling the supposed tea to “friend” Wendy Williams, who took to the airwaves saying that NeNe text her that she quit. Wendy went on to tell her viewers, “I know something about NeNe that you all will cry, be sad, feel bad for her. She’s carrying the weight of a huge thing on her shoulders.”

It sure sounds like something is going down with NeNe and RHOA specifically because Radar Online is reporting that NeNe has been docked a whopping $240,000 thanks to her mess of a feud with Kenya Moore. Now it’s important to note that NeNe herself has not confirmed any of this speculation and good ole’ friend Wendy has been mum on the topic as well, so this is coming from an unnamed source.

The source is also spilling that NeNe feels targeted by producers and has intentionally been cut out of episodes. Apparently, the rift between NeNe and Kenya has been so heated, NeNe wasn’t even invited to the cast’s panel at Bravocon just to avoid a confrontation.
Now I don’t know if that’s true or not but watching the episodes that NeNe has been in this season, it seems like her beef extends well beyond Kenya and to her other castmates. It’s been uncomfortable to watch, to say the least, but maybe we can’t blame this all on Kenya. Despite my feelings on the matter, RHOA execs have always seemed hesitant to see NeNe go because she is so good for ratings.

NeNe knows it and doesn’t seem to take kindly to anyone stealing her thunder on the show or anywhere else so I think it’s safe to say that being cut out of episodes doesn’t sit well with her. Now we will just have to wait and find out how many more episodes we will see NeNe in this season.

Tell Us- Do You Think Nene Is Going To Leave Rhoa After This Season?

#Empire: Jussie Smollett's Lawyer Releases a Statement After His Indictment!
Jussie Smollett‘s lawyer is speaking out following his indictment earlier in the day.
“After more than five months of investigation, the Office of the Special Prosecutor has not found any evidence of wrongdoing whatsoever related to the dismissal of the charges against Mr. Smollett,” Tina Glandian shared with press this afternoon (February 11), after Jussie is facing six counts of disorderly conduct from a grand jury.
She added, “Rather, the charges were appropriately dismissed the first time because they were not supported by the evidence.”

“The attempt to re-prosecute Mr. Smollett one year later on the eve of the Cook County State’s Attorney election is clearly all about politics not justice.”
Jussie has been accused of lying to the police in Chicago after claiming that he was attacked outside of his apartment last year. Charges were dropped in exchange for the forfeiture of the $10,000 he paid in bail money.

Read the full statement from Jussie Smollett’s lawyer, Tina Glandian…
This indictment raises serious questions about the integrity of the investigation that led to the renewed charges against Mr. Smollett, not the least of which is the use of the same CPD detectives who were part of the original investigation into the attack on Mr. Smollett to conduct the current investigation, despite Mr. Smollett’s pending civil claims against the City of Chicago and CPD officers for malicious prosecution. And one of the two witnesses who testified before the grand jury is the very same detective Mr. Smollett is currently suing for his role in the initial prosecution of him.

After more than five months of investigation, the Office of the Special Prosecutor has not found any evidence of wrongdoing whatsoever related to the dismissal of the charges against Mr. Smollett. Rather, the charges were appropriately dismissed the first time because they were not supported by the evidence. The attempt to re-prosecute Mr. Smollett one year later on the eve of the Cook County State’s Attorney election is clearly all about politics not justice.

Oh Well….

#HipHopNews: Nipsey Hussle’s Family In Negotiations With Netflix For Documentary!
The family of Nipsey Hussle set the record straight about their plans to release a documentary about the late Victory Lap rapper.
On Monday night (Feb. 10), Hussle's family released a statement about their plans to put together an official documentary about the California native after reports surfaced about Netflix reportedly winning a bidding war for the film over Apple and Amazon. In their statement, the family confirms that they're negotiating with Netflix to release the documentary, but documents have been signed. They also confirmed that Ava DuVernay and her company ARRAY are co-producing the feature film.

"Nipsey's company Marathon Flims, will present his feature film documentary executive produced by RocNation and his two children Emani and Kross Asghedom," his family wrote. "No final deal has been inked. We are currently in negotiations with Netflix for this project with Ava DuVernay, and her company ARRAY to co-produce. This documentary is very important to the family and will not be fast tracked by monetary gain and/or commercial interest."

The update on the documentary comes a couple weeks after DuVernay introduced DJ Khaled, Meek Mill, Roddy Ricch and more before their ultimate tribute to Nip at the 2020 Grammy Awards. Khaled brought out his friends plus John Legend, Kirk Franklin and YG to perform his Father of Asahd banger "Higher" as well as other songs Nip appeared on before his death. They also honored the late Kobe Bryant.

#VOTE2020: Bernie Sanders pulls out narrow win over Buttigieg in the New Hampshire Democratic primary!
MANCHESTER, N.H. — Sen. Bernie Sanders narrowly won the New Hampshire Democratic primary by about 4,000 votes, or less than 2 percentage points, over Pete Buttigieg, according to an NBC News projection.
Sanders, I-Vt., had been leading in the polls, so his victory wasn't a surprise. But he and Buttigieg, the former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, were closely bunched with the third-place candidate, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., allowing all three to claim either victory or solid momentum going into the next round of voting.
At the same time, former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., were headed toward poor showings and failed to get any delegates, NBC News projected.

With 95 percent of precincts reported, Sanders had 26 percent, or 71,950 votes; Buttigieg was at 24.4 percent, or 67,577 votes; Klobuchar had 19.7 percent, or 54,609 votes; Warren had 9.3 percent, or 25,765 votes; and Biden was at 8.4 percent, or 23,205 votes, according to the NBC News tally.
Candidates must meet a threshold of 15 percent in the state's two congressional districts or statewide to win delegates. Aware of a poor showing, Biden had already left New Hampshire for South Carolina, the site of the next primary.

Addressing a raucous crowd at his election night event, Sanders pledged to win in Nevada and South Carolina, too.
"And what I can tell you, with absolute certainty, and I know I speak for every one of the Democratic candidates, is that no matter who wins — and we certainly hope it's going to be us — we're going to unite together," he said. "We are going to unite together and defeat the most dangerous president in the modern history of this country.
"The reason that we are going to win is that we are putting together an unprecedented, multigenerational, multiracial political movement," he added. "And this is a movement from coast to coast, which is demanding that we finally have an economy and a government that works for all of us, not wealthy campaign contributors."
At his election night event, Buttigieg said he "admired" Sanders and added that he respected Sanders when he was a high school student and "I respect him greatly to this day, and I congratulate him on his strong showing tonight."

But Buttigieg appeared to make some comments critical of Sanders' platform. "Americans want the freedom to make choices for themselves on health care or on any other issue, not to have Washington decide for them, and a politics of 'my way or the highway' is a road to re-electing Donald Trump," Buttigieg said. "Vulnerable Americans do not have the luxury of pursuing ideological purity over an inclusive victory."

When Buttigieg's speech began projecting at Sanders' election night event, Sanders' supporters began loudly booing and chanting "Wall Street Pete," "Bernie beats Trump" and "popular vote."
NBC News exit polls showed that 48 percent of the state's Democratic primary voters made up their minds within the past few days — a substantial increase from 25 percent who said they did in 2016 and 38 percent in 2008. The same proportion of Democratic voters, 48 percent, said Friday's debate, in which Klobuchar's performance was widely praised, was either the most important or an important factor in their choice.

At her primary night event, Klobuchar said her campaign has "beaten the odds every step of the way."
"We have done it on the merits," she said. "We have done it with ideas. And we have done it with hard work, because we are resilient and strong as the people of this great nation."
"If you want a nominee who can stand up to Donald Trump on that debate stage, which you well know I can do, I need your votes, yes," she said, adding: "I don't have that big bank account. I don't have that big name as some of the other people that are in this race. And I am not a newcomer with no political record. But what I do is get things done. What I have is your back."
Addressing supporters in Manchester, Warren said Democrats "might be headed for another one of those long primary fights that lasts for months."

"We're two states in, with 55 states and territories to go," she said. "We still have 98 percent of the delegates for our nomination up for grabs, and Americans in every part of our country are going to make their voices heard."

She added that Sanders and Buttigieg are "great people" and would be better than Trump but that "the fight between factions in our party has taken a sharp turn in recent weeks, with ads mocking other candidates and with supporters of some candidates shouting curses about other Democratic candidates."
"These harsh tactics might work if you are willing to burn down the rest of the party in order to be the last man standing," she said. "They might work if you don't worry about leaving our party and our politics worse off than how you found it, and they might work if you think only you have all the answers and only you are the solution to all our problems."

"So don't go away. You're not getting rid of us. We're coming back, and we love you," he said from South Carolina.
Speaking to supporters in South Carolina, Biden said: "We just heard from the first two of 50 states, not all the nation, not half the nation, not a quarter of the nation, not 10 percent, two, two."

"Where I come from, that's the opening bell," he added. "Not the closing bell, and the fight to end Donald Trump's presidency is just beginning, just beginning."

Macaulay Culkin Wants to Set the Record Straight About His Relationship With Michael Jackson!
If you saw HBO’s Leaving Neverland, the explosive documentary exploring allegations that Michael Jackson sexually abused children, you may have been surprised when Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin didn’t make an appearance. As a child, Culkin starred in the music video for Jackson’s “Black and White,” after which he and Jackson became lifelong friends. Throughout the years, as allegations of Jackson's behavior have exploded into the mainstream, Culkin has continuously denied that he ever had any sexual contact with Jackson.

In Esquire's March 2020 cover story, Culkin discusses at length his friendship with Jackson, going into detail about their relationship and what did and did not happen.
“Look,” Culkin said. “I’m gonna begin with the line—it’s not a line, it’s the truth: He never did anything to me. I never saw him do anything. And especially at this flash point in time, I’d have no reason to hold anything back. The guy has passed on. If anything—I’m not gonna say it would be stylish or anything like that, but right now is a good time to speak up. And if I had something to speak up about, I would totally do it. But no, I never saw anything; he never did anything.”

Culkin spoke about the special bond he and Jackson shared by virtue of their unique childhoods—or lack thereof. Both raised by fathers pushing them toward fame at a young age, Culkin and Jackson were kindred spirits, despite their 22-year age difference. The last time they encountered one another was in a men’s room at the Santa Barbara County Superior Courthouse in 2005, where Culkin testified as a character witness in People v. Michael Jackson, wherein Jackson was charged with intoxicating and molesting a 13-year-old boy who had cancer. Jackson was later acquitted.

“We better not talk,” Jackson said, according to Culkin. “I don’t want to influence your testimony.”
The two embraced before returning to court. It was the last time Culkin would see Jackson before he passed away in 2009.
Though Jackson has been dead for over a decade, Leaving Neverland has introduced new aftershocks into Culkin’s life. He spoke about a memorable celebrity encounter that occurred not long after the documentary’s release.

“Here’s a good Michael Jackson story that doesn’t involve Michael Jackson at all,” Culkin said. “I ran into James Franco on a plane. I’d bumped into him two or three times over the years. I give him a little nod as we’re putting our bags overhead. Hey, how you doing? Good, how ya doing? And it was right after the Leaving Neverland documentary came out, and he goes, ‘So, that documentary!’ And that was all he said. I was like, ‘Uh-huh.’ Silence. So then he goes, ‘So what do you think?’ And I turned to him and I go, ‘Do you wanna talk about your dead friend?’ And he sheepishly went, ‘No, I don’t.’ So I said, ‘Cool, man, it was nice to see you.’ ”

Culkin is godfather to Jackson’s daughter Paris, to whom he remains close. He has shared with her his habit of stealing spoons from restaurants, bars, and cafes as a bit of “harmless” fun. The two give one another spoons as gifts, and they have matching spoon tattoos on their forearms.

When Paris entered public life, Culkin had just one piece of advice, given by virtue of the spoons: “Don’t forget to be silly, don’t forget to take something away from this whole experience, and don’t forget to stick something up your sleeve.”

Rihanna Hosts FEИTY Pop-Up Shop At NYC‘s Bergdorf Goodman!
Singer and Fashion IconMuse Rihanna hosted a FEИTY pop-up at NYC’s Bergdorf Goodman, curated by visual artist Jed Skrzypczak in collaboration with Jahleel Weaver (Deputy Creative Director at Fenty) and Dark Matter Technologies. Fans were treated to a total digital experience where they could see themselves being projected on huge LED screens on the Bergdorf windows.

British VOGUE’s editor-in-chief Edward Enninful, model Khi-Lo, sexagenarian model JoAni Johnson (yes she’s still ripping the runway at age 67), and singer-songwriter Rina Sawayama were in the mix:
RiRi created a range of ready-to-wear apparel, accessories, sunglasses and jewelry in collaboration with LVMH. And every piece oozes Rih's edgy style. Last year’s theme was dubbed “Release 5-19." This season’s theme has been dubbed “Freedom.”
Oddly enough, that’s exactly what the Bajan beauty longs for. While the fashion icon is offering luxury threads, bomb makeup via Fenty Beauty and sexy lingerie via Savage X Fenty, all RiRi wants to do is normal things we do on a daily like grocery shopping.

”I’ll do anything if it means I can have a little bit of life that’s just for me,” Rihanna told ELLE. “Just a little bit is all I need. Like, let me go to the grocery store once. You know? Those things you minimize in your ordinary life, you don’t realize how much they mean to you when you don’t have that freedom to do that, or the flexibility to do it, in peace. And it’s difficult, you know? It’s a double-edged sword. Because I enjoy what I do, but yeah, fame makes a lot of things easier, but it does make life more difficult.

When asked when was the last time she personally shopped at Bergdorf Goodman she gave the richest answer ever:
"I don’t remember the last time I came in person. I literally have a shopper here, and I’m like, “Call me when you get some good stuff.” Her name is Sonya Benson; she’s here somewhere! And that’s normally how I have to shop: through other people. I mean, maybe they’ll let me shop tonight after the event, when nobody sees me and nobody’s here! I do miss it. But I’m also so busy these days that I almost feel guilty spending time in a store when I could be at work. So if somebody else can buy clothes for me, while I do what I have to do? That’s a win-win."

The "Diamonds" singer doesn't get to do her own shopping much, however, she was able to pick up a few luxury pieces herself recently:
"Oh shoot, that was yesterday! Oh my god, I bought this Chanel coat. They have a female creative director now, and the coat is amazing. And then I bought a Dior purse, a Dior pantsuit... it was not a small shopping trip, I'll say that."

FEИTY’s pop-up will be open to the public until March 2nd, so if you’re in the city make at trip to 5th Avenue to check it out.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Daughter, Simone Johnson, Training To Join WWE; Makes History As First Fourth-Generation WWE Wrestler!
It looks like the apple truly doesn’t fall far from the tree in the Johnson family, as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s daughter is now training to join World Wrestling Entertainment Inc.
Simone Johnson is set to make history as the first fourth-generation WWE Wrestler; on Monday, the WWE network announced Simone had started training to be a WWE Superstar at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

The proud papa, Dwayne Johnson, responded to the news on Instagram writing, “Dreams ain’t just for dreamers. “Congrats to my #1 born, Simone Johnson on officially signing her wrestling contract with WWE wwenxt and on her way to becoming the first-ever 4th generation WWE athlete. Carry our family name proudly, but your road will always be yours to create, earn & own. So proud. Live your dream. Let’s work. #humblehungry #hardestworkersintheroom #4thgeneration.”

Simone posted her own celebratory post saying, “To the little girl who fell in love with wrestling & said ‘this will be my life one day,’ this is for you. I’m humbled, grateful & ready to work. Let’s do this.”
Simone’s mother, Dany Garcia, also penned a sweet message on Instagram accompanied by a throwback photo of the two when Simone was just born.” It’s been the blessing of my life to watch you grow #simoneGJohnson & while the legacy of the family may be your platform, your future will be uniquely yours to earn. Congrats, my love on living your dream & welcome to WWENXT #wwe!! #4thGenerationSuperstar,” read the post.

This will make Simone the fourth member of the Johnson family to join the WWE family as a wrestler. According to CNN, Simone’s grandfather and Johnson’s father, WWE Hall of Famer Rocky “Soul Man,” Johnson was one of the two first African American World Tag Team Champions in WWE’s history. He passed away at 75. Simone’s great-grandfather was High Chief Maivia, who started a legacy of wrestlers. Back in 2008, The Rock inducted Maivia into the WWE Hall of Fame, according to the WWE’s website.
But it’s not just the Johnson family that is excited for Simone’s next journey; her coaches are also sharing their support.

“Simone is a wonderful girl,” WWE Assistant Head Coach Sara Amato said in a statement. “She’s like a sponge, it’s pretty amazing. She knows what it takes to succeed and all the hard work and sacrifice that goes into it. I wouldn’t have expected anything less.”

Shout out to this happy #GirlDad!

Tina Knowles-Lawson Says She Recently Lent Some of Her Art Pieces to Beyoncé for a ”New Project”?
In an interview with WSJ Magazine, Tina Knowles-Lawson may have accidentally spilled the beans on a new Beyonce project in the works.
Tina Lawson has taken up the passion of collecting art to add to her creative repertoire and design sense, and according to the businesswoman and fashion designer, her daughter, Queen Bey, may be using some of her pieces for a new project.

“My art pieces are like my children,” she told the publication. “I just lent some of my art pieces to Beyoncé for her new project that she’s doing, and I’m looking at my walls, and it just makes me sad, because I miss seeing all my babies there… Art is so important because it inspires us. It is really important to surround your children, growing up African-American, with images of positive reinforcement and not the traditional ideas of what commercials say beauty is. It really makes a difference in your life.”
Sadly that was all Ms. Tina lent on Bey’s new mystery project. But in a recent interview with the New York Times, Beyonce opened up about her mother’s passion and the importance of representation in art.⠀⠀⠀

”I think it was important to my mother to surround us with positive, powerful, strong images of African and African American art so that we could reflect and see ourselves in them,” Bey said at the Wearable Art Gala last March.
