Jennifer Lopez for W Magazine - Best Performances Issue 2020!
Jennifer Lopez‘s career trajectory could have looked very different had she taken another path.
The Hustlers actress, 50, graces one of the covers of W. Magazine’s “Best Performances 2020” issue in which reveals she once considered trying out stripping early on in her career.
“There was a moment in my life when my friends, who were also dancers, told me about making thousands of dollars at clubs in New Jersey,” Lopez said.
She continued, “They said, ‘You won’t need to be topless.’ It sounded awfully good when I was broke and eating pizza every day, but I never did it.”
Instead, her career took a different turn. Now a two-time Golden Globe nominee — for 1998’s Selena and last year’s Hustlers — Lopez’s star has risen and she’s cemented herself as one of Hollywood’s power players.

In Hustlers, Lopez plays Ramona, a tough dancer-turned-stripper who finds herself creating a scheme to earn big money all the while stealing thousands of dollars from her Wall Street clients.
“I was a little nervous about doing this movie because I had never played someone this dark or complicated,” Lopez tells W. “I liked that Ramona, the character I play, and the other strippers were looked at as equals to their patrons, the guys on Wall Street.”
She adds, “Ramona reminded me of that girlfriend we all have who is exciting but can also get you into trouble. You always miss that friend when she’s gone, but when you get together, you worry you might find yourself in some crazy situation. That’s Ramona.”
The singer and actress was named one of PEOPLE’s People of the Year after whirlwind 2019 that saw her experience some of her career’s biggest highs from her “It’s My Party” tour to Oscar buzz for her performance as a stripper in Hustlers.

“It just shows you that dreams come true,” Lopez told PEOPLE in December. “But you have to work at it and not give up. The key is the not giving up part. For me, it’s not a choice. You can’t stop.”
“I feel more confident and at peace with who I am and more aware of what I bring to the table, but that was a huge journey,” says Lopez, who calls being mom to her 11-year-old twins, Emme and Max, her “number 1 job.”

“When you find you, really find you, that’s when everything starts falling into place.”

The Issue is on news stands now!

#RHOA: Kenya, Porsha and Kandi Hatch Plan to Ambush Potential RHOA 'Snake'!
As relationship woes continue to plague Season 12 of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," so does the group "snake" who allegedly recorded Cynthia Bailey talking smack about NeNe Leakes.
In new episode, Kenya Moore, Porsha Williams and Kandi Burruss gear up to confront Yovanna again about being the reptile in question.

We first met Yovanna last season. She came on a little strong, identifying herself as "that bitch...from Clark" who was best friends with one of Eva Marcille's bridesmaids. Eva had no memory of her. Yovanna returned this season as NeNe's confidant, ready to take down whoever was at odds with the OG.
"It's really weird sitting in a group of girls that you don't know, and one of those girls is really the snake," Kenya said to Porsha and Kandi at an event where Yovanna was also present.
"That's what I was thinking. Now I'm gonna be honest..." Porsha began to say, before Kenya interrupted her. "You think it's true?" the latter asked.

"Oh, I definitely think it's true," said Porsha. "Out of all the things that NeNe is, why would she come out with a story about, 'Oh, somebody recorded Cynthia talking trash?' Why would you make that up? For what? Sometimes, when the truth is bad enough, why add to it?"
"[Cynthia] is not gonna deny that she said something because she was in her right to say it," Kenya added. "The issue is who is the bitch that recorded it? Who is the snake?"
That's when Porsha brought up Yovanna, who's been up NeNe's you-know-what all season. "Have we canceled out Yovanna? Are we canceling her out?" Porsha asked the ladies. Kenya said no. "I'm not canceling her," she maintained. "I don't know her like that."

"You think she would lie? Because I've asked her multiple times," Kandi noted.
"Why don't we ask her," Porsha suggested. "You know, snakes get bothered when you mess with 'em, right? If you the snake. If you not a snake, you gonna lay there and be cool. So if we ask you, you shouldn't get all bothered."

"Then maybe that would push her to want to tell who it is," Kandi thought. "Exactly," Porsha replied, "To get her ass out the fire."
Kenya pointed at Porsha and said it was her turn to be the bad cop, but Porsha was scared. "I don't want her to be nasty with me!" she said, as Kenya shot back, "But I want her to be nasty with me?"
In a later confessional, Porsha told the camera that "Kenya is the bad cop, I am kind of the nice cop/bad cop, Kandi is mainly gonna play quiet, and we're gonna be the ones to drill this girl."

As they got ready to approach the suspect, Kandi told her co-stars she thought Yovanna was "ready to crack 'cause she's been feeling the pressure."
It's important to note that the other suspect, Marlo Hampton -- who's also willing to bat for NeNe any time, anywhere -- also denied being the culprit. In fact, when confronted by Cynthia about the group's suspicions, she actually cried!
NeNe also denied that Marlo was responsible during a recent appearance on "Strahan, Sara and Keke," assuring fans that "Marlo is not that girl... Marlo is pretty much like me. We gon' just go and bite ya, baby. You ain't even have to worry about it."
"I'm telling you, you can kind of look at the show and tell who is going to be the one that's really in your face, and they will do it not behind your back," she added. "So the person that did this was more behind the back."

This game of Clue will continue on Sunday at 8 p.m. on Bravo.

#Empire: Gabourey Sidibe gushes over Her New Boyfriend Brandon Frankel!
Gabourey Sidibe rang in the new year with her boyfriend, Brandon Frankel, whose lengthy Instagram dedication to the actress prompted her to praise him as “the cherry on top of this last decade and the foundation of the next.”
Frankel — whose Instagram bio says he works in “entertainment + marketing + branding” — shared photos Wednesday of the couple keeping it low-key on New Year’s Eve, rocking coordinating “King” and “Queen” sweatshirts while hanging out with Frankel’s pet cats.
“I’m truly thankful for my close family, friends, associates past and present…and most of all, for THIS Queen right here,” Frankel wrote of the “Empire” actress. “You’re a ball of sunshine, so generous and giving of your time, resources, and love- and your excitement and passion for life and people/things you love truly lights up my heart.”
“I love you more and more every single day- which seems impossible, but continually amazes me,” he continued. “Here’s to 2020- and thank you for loving me so unconditionally. I love being your forever-Dork. ❤️❤️❤️.”

While Brandon has shared photos of his famous boo since May 2019, Sidibe, 36, has only subtly hinted at being in a relationship — until now.
“You’re my favorite Love Song,” she responded Thursday within his comment section. “You’re the cherry on top of this last decade and the foundation of the next. I’m excited for all the matching hoodies, Mickey/Minnie outfits to DisneyLand, and your favorite shirts that somehow become MY favorite shirts.”
“You make me happier than I’ve ever been,” she gushed. “I’m so glad we found each other and I’m gonna point and yell “DOG!” for you, when I see one in public forever.”

RuPaul’s Daytime Talk Show Not Moving Forward In Syndication After Three-Week Trial!
RuPaul’s new syndicated daytime talk show won’t be moving ahead on Fox stations this fall. Ru’s eponymous program ran for a three-week trial over the summer, which was on seven Fox stations.

Fox stations have used the summer broadcast period as a time to test various series concepts in recent years. Fox has had success with quite a few trial runs of daytime shows in the past. This format has helped with launching both “The Wendy Williams Show” and “The Real” into syndication. On RuPaul’s show, he interviewed both newsmakers, and celebrities with the main focus being on empowerment and aspiration.

The News of RuPaul not continuing came after Fox Television Stations picked up a talk show that will be hosted by Nick Cannon set up for launch in fall 2020. Fans of RuPaul Charles are definitely upset, but can look forward to the 12th season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” which was renewed at VH1, and can also watch RuPaul as the star of the scripted Netflix series “AJ & the Queen” which he co-created alongside mastermind Michael Patrick King of “Sex and the City.”

New Law Will Reportedly Allow Wade Robson and James Safechuck To Sue Michael Jackson For Sexual Abuse; Again!
After being featured in “Leaving Neverland,” a documentary that attempted to put a light on reoccurring allegations that the late Michael Jackson sexually abused two boys when they were kids, the two men now have been given the right to sue for sexual abuse, TMZ reports.
When James Safechuck and Wade Robson initially set out to sue, it didn’t turn out well for them as they waited too long.
California’s statute of limitations required them to have filed their lawsuits before they turned 26.
When they filed, Robson was 30, and Safechuck was 36.
However, in a new turn of events, a new law went into effect on Jan. 1 that would allow sexual abuse victims to sue until the age of 40.

According to TMZ, a California appeals court has ruled that the new law will indeed allow Robinson and Safechuck to have their cases tried — possibly before a jury.
While up until this point, Jackson’s companies have been able to ignore and fend off these claims because of the statute of limitations, things have changed.
With this new law in effect, Robson and Safechuck are eligible to go to trial against MJJ Productions as well as MJJ ventures.
The law also states that they could win if they prove the allegations and show that the people who ran the company either knew or should have known that the young boys at the time were in serious trouble.

When it comes to the MJ Estate, different factors play a part in the case, and both Safechuck and Robson are barred by the statute of limitations, TMZ reveals. Though it’s being reported that Robson and Safechuck now have the right to sue again, Jackson’s Estate, however, claims otherwise and that the two men do not have the right to sue in a statement given to TMZ stating, “The Court of Appeal did NOT revive the lawsuits by Mr. Robson and Mr. Safechuck against the Estate of Michael Jackson. Both of those lawsuits were dismissed in 2016.”
The Estate also says that the two men “absurdly claim that Michael’s employees are somehow responsible for sexual abuse that never happened.”
The Estate went on to note that the appeals court has not addressed the merits of the claims as that’s for a jury to decide only.

Both Safechuck and Robson are accusing Jackson of sexual abuse. Safechuck alleges Jackson abused him hundreds of times when he was a child, including inappropriate acts such as penetrating him with his finger, and rubbing and sucking Jackson’s nipples while the singer self pleasured himself.
Robson, on the other hand, says the abuse consisted of fondling, kissing, giving and receiving oral sex and claims Jackson even attempted to engage in anal sex once.
However, management over at Jackson’s Estate have remained pretty confident that these claims are false since the beginning and that Robson and Safechuck are angry former Jackson fans who are barred by the statute of limitations.

Howard Weitzman, the lawyer for the Estate, revealed in the past, that he believes the claims will be dismissed.

Mega Preacher John Gray’s Church Files To Evict Him Amid Dispute Over Lease!
The drama between Relentless Church and Redemption Church has gotten deeper.
The pastors of Redemption Church, Ron and Hope Carpenter, handed over the Grenville, N.C. church to Pastor John Gray and his wife Aventer Gray in 2018, who transformed it to Relentless Church.

But now, Redemption Church has filed for eviction against Relentless Church, according to Greenville Online. The filing reportedly took place Thursday (Jan. 2) and requests an application of ejectment, claiming that Relentless failed to keep up with the lease agreement. Specifically, the filing alleges Relentless has not kept up with payments to cover funds for the sanctuary, The Imagine Center, and the church’s sports and fitness center.
Still, the new filing comes roughly a month after Redemption ended its lease with Relentless, reportedly telling Relentless pastor and former OWN reality star John Gray, that the church had until the end of the year to vacate the property, which is still owned by Redemption. Back then, the Grays maintained that they were not behind on payments.

John Gray released a new statement on the matter Thursday (Jan. 2):
“We stand behind our original statement and are confident that the payment amounts required under the leases referenced in the complaint have and will continue to be paid. Our efforts at mediation and with wise counsel to present every detail absent of legal have proven fruitless on their end multiple times.”

He also had a message for Relentless Church members:
“To the Relentless Church family, please note, we have dealt honorably and have utilized every possible measure to resolve these differences to date. We will continue to serve the Lord, reach the lost, and serve the community. This unfortunate issue will not hinder the vision, work, functionality, or heart of this church.”
He went on to request the media do their “due diligence” when reporting on the story
“as we allow our legal team to proceed accordingly.”

Meanwhile, the attorney for Redemption Church, Katari Buck, said in a statement Thursday (Jan. 2),
“Redemption is unable to continue to absorb the mounting debts and past due accounts associated with the Greenville property during Relentless’ tenancy and therefore has no other option but to seek to regain possession of the property sooner rather than later.”

What do you think about the new filing?

Da Baby’s Alleged Assault Victim Plans To Sue!
A concert promoter was allegedly attacked Thursday night by Da Baby and his crew after failing to pay the rapper an additional $10k.
Kenneth, a promoter who was hired to plan a party for Stunna 4 Vegas at a Florida nightclub, locked in DaBaby to host the event at a discounted rate of $30k.

Kenneth only showed up with $20k and the altercation soon turned violent when the additional money wasn’t accounted for.
According to TMZ, the promoter was not only beaten but also robbed of an iPhone 7, a credit card and $80.
The promoter states that after the altercation, he had to get checked out by a doctor because of his injuries.
Da Baby has been arrested for battery, and it is very likely a robbery charge could also surface.

The North Carolina rapper also has a warrant out of Dallas for a fight that happened last month, he is currently being held without bail.

Lori Loughlin Hires Prison Expert To Help Her Survive Behind Bars!
Lori Loughlin seems to be planning for the worst possible outcome. According to PEOPLE, the Fuller House actress has reportedly hired “someone who is advising her what to do in case she loses her case and goes to prison” as she goes through her ongoing legal battle in the now-infamous college admissions scandal. While the advisor is there to “help her learn the ropes,” a source told the outlet, “That’s not to be construed that she thinks she’s going to lose her case. Lori is a planner, and she is doing what she needs to do for all contingencies."

"The whole point is to have someone tell her how to keep herself safe. She needs to keep a low profile if she’s incarcerated," the insider added. "Obviously, she’s going to stand out, because of all the publicity and because she’s a star. She can’t do anything about that. But she doesn’t want to stand out because she’s so green that she does the wrong things.”
While remaining nonspecific, the source revealed Loughlin has been learning more about prison culture in hopes of keeping her safe and under the radar. Among the etiquette advice she’s receiving involves “table manners, social interactions” and “eye contact,” which although considered a “good thing” in the outside world, is frowned upon behind bars. "Prison is a very different world than Hollywood, and Lori is just trying to be prepared. She’s preparing for the worst, but hoping for the best,” the source concluded.
If preparation Loughlin has considered have included conducting mock trials as she and her team prepare her defense after being accused to have paid $500k in bribes to get their daughters falsely-registered as athletes to better their chances of enrollment at the University of Southern California.

As yet, Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli face up to 45 years behind bars if convicted on a myriad of charges including conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, money laundering conspiracy, and federal programs bribery.

Rod Stewart & Son Sean Facing Criminal Battery Charges After NYE Fight!
Rod Stewart and his son Sean reportedly assaulted a security guard at a Palm Beach, Florida, resort on New Year’s Eve — and now the alleged victim is pressing charges.
A security guard who was working in the children’s section of The Breakers Resort for a private party on Tuesday (December 31) claims that, when denied entry, Stewart and Sean’s entourage “began to get loud and cause a scene and refused to follow his instructions and leave,” per a probable cause affidavit obtained by NBC News.

Things escalated when the musician’s 39-year-old son allegedly came face-to-face with the guard, which prompted him to physically obstructed him by placing his hand on Sean’s chest, to which Shawn reacted by allegedly pushing the guard as his 74-year-old father punched the man in his ribcage area.
According to NBC reports, two female employees were eyewitnesses to the assault, in which both bystanders submitted sworn witness statements suggesting Sean and Rod were the instigators. What’s more, video evidence of the altercation depicts the father-son duo as “the primary aggressors,” and shows Rod “intentionally” striking the victim.

However, the “Maggie May” crooner recalled these events differently to the police. Per the outlet, Rod told cops he and his family were trying to get the children of their group into the private area when the guard supposedly “became argumentative” after turning them away, which incited the altercation. Even so, the affidavit does indicate Rod apologized for his behavior.

As yet, both Rod and Sean are expected to appear at the Palm Beach County Criminal Justice Complex on simple battery charges on February 5.

James Charles Accused of Being Transphobic After Tweet About Being Drafted!
James Charles has found himself in the middle of another controversy. After the death of Iranian military general Qasem Soleimani was announced, many people took to Twitter to joke about a possible World War 3 and being drafted into the military.
The 20-year-old YouTuber tried to join in on the fun, but his joke missed the mark.
“Me when the government comes knocking on my door for the draft,” James tweeted along with several photos of himself wearing wigs and dresses.
After the tweet, many people slammed James for dressing up as a woman and joking about the draft, especially since Trump banned trans individuals from serving in the military.
“Trans women get killed for purely existing and ur out here being all πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜I am going to dress as a woman to avoid being drafted even though I am a cis white gay πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ cut the s–t james,” one person tweeted back.

James then clarified his tweet, writing, “Just to clarify, this tweet has nothing to do with the trans military ban, which I obviously do not support. it’s a lighthearted joke regarding the fact that I had to register for the draft when I turned 18, just like every other boy, & i don’t wanna fight in a war. that’s all.”

Trump threatens attacks on 52 sites if Iran retaliates for Soleimani killing!
Trump tweeted the targets "WILL BE HIT VERY FAST AND VERY HARD" if Iran retaliates for the killing of Qassem Soleimani.
Trump's new warning to Iran as administration under pressure over airstrike decision!
President Donald Trump on Saturday warned Iran that if it retaliates for the killing of one of its top leaders, Gen. Qassem Soleimani, it will face U.S. attacks on 52 targets, a number he said was symbolic.
The president tweeted that the number of targets matched the number of hostages held by Iran in 1979, when 52 American diplomats and citizens were held for 444 days.
"Let this serve as a WARNING that if Iran strikes any Americans, or American assets, we have.........targeted 52 Iranian sites (representing the 52 American hostages taken by Iran many years ago), some at a very high level & important to Iran & the Iranian culture, and those targets, and Iran itself, WILL BE HIT VERY FAST AND VERY HARD," he said. "The USA wants no more threats!"

Trump's tweet was vaguely worded, but the United Nations Security Council appears to suggest the targeting of cultural heritage sites is prohibited.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif responded early Sunday, accusing Trump of threatening a "war crime" and breaching the norms of international law. "That is, a big(ly) "no no"," he said.

Thousands gathered in Baghdad Saturday to mourn the death of Soleimani and others killed in the U.S. airstrike, which has sent tensions soaring throughout the Middle East.
Also on Saturday, the U.S. Central Command said in a statement that there were two early evening attacks, including rocketfire, near Iraqi bases that host American and coalition forces.
No injuries to coalition service members were reported.

“We have increased security and defensive measures at the Iraqi bases that host anti-ISIS Coalition troops,” Col. Myles B. Caggins III, a coalition spokesman, said in a statement.
Soleimani, the influential commander of Iran's secretive Quds Force, was killed by drone strikes Friday at the Baghdad airport. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani later tweeted: "The great nation of Iran will take revenge for this heinous crime."

Trump said Friday the attack was undertaken to prevent war and further bloodshed for Americans who had been targeted by Soleimani in future operations.=
"We took action last night to stop a war," he said in a televised address to the nation. "We did not take action to start a war."
But the White House has yet to offer the public proof that the general's plans were significantly out of line with his history of directing Iran's proxy wars and covert operations, which have indeed cost American lives.
The White House blamed violent protests earlier this week at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad on the general.

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts tweeted that Trump was "threatening to commit war crimes."
"We are not a war with Iran," she wrote. "The American People do not want a war with Iran. This is a democracy. You do not get to start a war with Iran, and your threats put our troops and diplomats at greater risk. Stop."
Some congressional leaders, including U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff, D-California, have said Americans deserve to see the evidence behind the targeting of Soleimani.
Two senior Capitol sources told NBC News that Congress on Saturday received formal White House notification of the attack.
Such documentation, which the sources said was classified, is required by law.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California, said in a statement Saturday night that the notification was insufficient.
“This classified War Powers Act notification delivered to Congress raises more questions than it answers," she said. "This document prompts serious and urgent questions about the timing, manner and justification of the Administration’s decision to engage in hostilities against Iran."
She said the White House's lack of transparency in the Soleimani attack is concerning.
"The highly unusual decision to classify this document in its entirety compounds our many concerns, and suggests that the Congress and the American people are being left in the dark about our national security," Pelosi said.
The speaker called on the Trump administration to brief Congress on its plans for Iran.

Trump's tweet came after a senior Iranian Revolutionary Guards commander, General Gholamali Abuhamzeh, was quoted by Tasnim news agency as saying late on Friday that Iran will punish Americans wherever they are within reach of the Islamic Republic, and raised the prospect of attacks on ships in the Gulf.
"The Strait of Hormuz is a vital point for the West and a large number of American destroyers and warships cross there. ... Vital American targets in the region have been identified by Iran since long time ago. ... Some 35 U.S. targets in the region as well as Tel Aviv are within our reach," he was quoted as saying.
A spokesman for the U.S. Government Publishing Office said the website of its Federal Depository Library Program was hacked Saturday night, and that authorities were investigating.

Although officials have not said who is responsible for the hack, a group purporting to be Iranian hackers claimed responsibility.
"An intrusion was detected on GPO’s FDLP website, which has been taken down," GPO spokesman Gary Somerset said in a statement. "GPO’s other sites are fully operational. We are coordinating with the appropriate authorities to investigate further."

The White House and the FBI declined to comment on the hacking.
