#NewMusic: José James & Aloe Blacc Want You To Hear Their Soul On ‘Turn Me Up’!
'Tis the season for Christmas music blaring out of every speaker imaginable. While we can't begrudge anyone for wanting to be in the holiday spirit, we also understand the need for alternative programming. Thankfully, it's also the season to set up upcoming releases for 2020's first quarter. That's why José James is revealing "Turn Me Up," his new collaboration with Aloe Blacc off his forthcoming new project No Beginning No End 2.The collaboration is a soulful-yet-funky cut that evokes a '70s aesthetic in the vein of Bill Withers (perhaps because José spent two years living and breathing the icon's classic material). An arrangement filled with guitar, organ, drums, bass and horns gets the party going as the funk soul brothers invite us to pump up the volume.

José leads things off on the first verse as he lets the people know that if they want more of what he's giving, they simply need to turn the dial all the way up. Aloe follows on the second verse to echo José's sentiments and reminds us that life's party is BYOE (bring your own everything) and it's all in good fun. The fellas then break it all the way down as they sing along with the bass line, singing, "Turn me up right now / Baby, let me funk it down with you.

Make sure you move your volume all the way up before you press play on José James and Aloe Blacc's new joint HERE.

#HipHopNews: The Roots Feat Tish Hyman ‘Feel It’!
The Roots has apparently felt their absence as well and are remedying it with the release of their new joint "Feel It (You Got It).""Feel It" returns the band back to form. They weave an uplifting and soulful musical arrangement around a hard-hitting boom-bap beat that both sounds and feels good. It sets the stage for battle-tested MC Black Thought to rip rhymes as per usual. He squeezes off a few boastful rhymes about his skills and how they brought him to his current level of come-up.

Take a listen to the latest from The Roots HERE

He also offers some advice to those wanting to advance, preaching the value of a hard work ethic and perseverance. The chorus of the track keeps it simple, with the fellas and featured vocalist Tish Hyman singing about going hard and reminding that "you've got to feel it" if you want to make things happen.According to word on the street, "Feel It (You Got It)" might be the first listen of the group's upcoming project, tentatively titled End Game.

Whoopi Goldberg Cuts Off Meghan McCain on The View: ‘Girl, Please Stop Talking!’
Hot topics got extra hot on Monday’s episode of The View when Whoopi Goldberg and Meghan McCain got into a heated exchange.

The women on the popular ABC daytime talk show — including co-hosts Joy Behar, Abby Huntsman, and Sunny Hostin — were discussing the ongoing impeachment hearings against President Donald Trump when Goldberg chastised McCain for talking over her fellow panelists.
“Girl, please stop talking!” said Goldberg, 64, as McCain’s jaw dropped wide open. “Please stop talking now!”

“No problem, I won’t talk the rest of the show,” responded McCain, 35.
“I’m okay with that. I’m okay with that.” Goldberg replied, with audible gasps heard coming from the audience. “If you are going to behave like this …”
“You are talking over [people]” said Goldberg, before giving up and tossing to a commercial break.
The two women didn’t address the spat for the rest of the show.
The hosts had been discussing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham’s comments on impeachment, which suggested that they had made up their minds about Trump’s innocence without hearing all the facts.

McCain urged both Republicans and Democrats to “stop being so partisan on both sides,” but she downplayed the seriousness of McConnell and Graham’s comments by pointing out that innocence in politics was lost when President Bill Clinton “perjured himself” in the 1990s, leading to his own impeachment.
Hostin noted how some Republican senators supporting Trump had voted to convict Clinton.
“Many of those same people are still in the Senate,” argued Hostin, 51. “I cannot believe that they would vote to impeach and convict a sitting president for perjuring himself and they would not vote to convict and remove a president who clearly wanted to use a foreign government for his own personal benefit to impede our very democracy. That is the height of hypocrisy for this Republican-led senate!”

Seconds later, McCain — who, alongside Huntsman, represents a conservative voice on The View — spoke up.
“My job here is not to litigate the ethics of it. I’m an ABC political analyst, as well as being a View co-host. My job is to analyze the politics of it,” she said, as Hostin pointed out, “I’m not talking about you, I’m talking about the senators.”
“Just let me finish,” McCain said. “I let you talk, let me finish. Do you want to hear a conservative on the show ever?”

That’s when Goldberg stepped in.This isn’t the first time Goldberg and McCain have butted-heads on The View.
In October, Goldberg — who serves as the show’s moderator — tried to calm a cluttered conversation by telling the co-hosts, “Everybody has something to say at the table, we really do want to hear from everybody, but we’re starting to do that thing.”
“I don’t know what that means, ‘that thing,’” McCain said. “It means you’re talking over each other,” Goldberg explained.“Well, it’s The View,” McCain argued.
“It is The View. You know what, let me tell you something about The View,” Goldberg said. “This show has always had the ability to have different points of view, which we respect around the table. And when we talk to each other, we also exhibit respect. So when I’m saying to you, ‘Hold up, because we’re not hearing each other,’ I’m not trying to cut you off — I’m trying to get you heard.”
Another notable spat between Goldberg and McCain happened in September, culminating in Goldberg telling McCain, “don’t be so dismissive when you’re talking.”
McCain, who joined The View as a permanent co-host in October 2017, has been open about the challenges of being the most politically conservative person on the panel.

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in September, she addressed her often-combative stance on the show, admitting that she does feel insecure in her gig.
“I go in assuming I’m going to be fired every day,” she said. “Every single day. Yes, every day.”
Asked by Cohen if she ever thought she actually came close to getting fired, McCain said no.

“It’s more the tone we are [at] culturally — people get canceled so easily,” she explained. “And by the way, Joy has this same thing, because we are the most honest and raw. And we’re always going to say something that is going to be too far one way. So I say it sort of jokingly, but sort of not.”
As tough as it can be, McCain said she gets along with all of her co-hosts, even Behar.

“I think everyone in America is having a really hard time expressing their view. But vibe-wise, I’m actually more comfortable with the main five hosts that I work with every day than I was with last year,” she said.

The View airs weekdays (11 a.m. ET) on ABC.

Jay-Z Grabs Man's Phone for Seemingly Filming Beyonce at Diddy's 50th Birthday Party!
Jay-Z did not appear happy when a man seemingly tried to use his phone to film Beyonce at Diddy‘s 50th birthday bash.
The 50-year-old “The Story of O.J.” rapper and his wife, 38, both stepped out for the star-studded event held on Saturday (December 14) in Los Angeles.

In videos taken by a guest and posted to social media, Jay-Z can be seen snatching the phone out of the man’s hand on the dance floor.
Jay-Z appears frustrated while voicing something as Beyonce dances with her former Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland and rapper Saweetie.
The video’s caption says, “Jay snatching someone’s phone cause he was filming Beyoncé dancing with @saweetie & @kellyrowland 😭 He loves his wife.”

Comedian Mark Curry Calls Out Steve Harvey For Stealing His Jokes!
Comedian Mark Curry is best known for his role as the ex-basketball player-turned-teacher on the ABC show “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper” airing from 1992 to 1997.
Recently, Curry’s name is now known for checking talk show host and comedian Steve Harvey for stealing his jokes.
The 58-year-old appeared on an episode of Fox Soul’s “The Mike & Donny Show.” When host Mike Hill asked Curry, “What’s up with you and Steve, man?” Curry responded by saying, “Steve stole my material on his show, so I had a beef on that.”
Hill then followed with another question asking Curry, “On what show?”
“When he was on his bullsh– talk show that he had, he did all of my Halloween material one Halloween,” Curry responded. Curry was referring to Harvey’s NBC talk show “Steve.”

“Somebody called me and said, ‘Homeboy doing your material.’ He did my whole Halloween run, and I know he didn’t think of it. This was true stuff that really happened to me,” Curry said.

“And my thing was, you didn’t have to do that homeboy. Mother–, you made enough money, b– a–,” he added.
The audience chuckled at Curry’s rebuttal. Curry wanted to know why Harvey was on “his material.” People were defending Harvey to Curry, saying, “He didn’t know, he didn’t steal your material,” to which Curry replied, “Yes, he did!”
Hill said that he believes stealing jokes is “the most lewd thing a comic can do.”

Curry then went on to say, “I’ll step to you.” Curry admitted to approaching Harvey about the issue at Def Comedy Jam 25. When Hill asked, “What did you say to him?” Curry responded,” Ask him.”
Curry admitted that someone stealing his jokes had happened before, but Harvey’s actions irritated him the most because “he made it.”
Hill pressed on wanting to know what Curry said to Harvey, but Curry still responded with, “Ask him!” Curry noted that Harvey did not apologize to him about the incident.
Fans on The Neighborhood Talk 2 Instagram account believed Curry’s accusations against Harvey.

Mac and Harvey were a part of “The Orginal Kings of Comedy,” which became a successful tour and film.
Beef stewed between the two when Mac did a 2003 GQ interview claiming Harvey was jealous of his success and tried to steal gigs from him.
On a 2010 episode of BET’s “Conversations with Ed Gordon,” Harvey admitted to his anger about the article.
“I was upset at first because it just wasn’t true,” Harvey said. “Me and Bernie had a lot of good times together, and then this article in GQ came out and put all this vicious stuff in there.”

Harvey said he spoke to Mac about the interview before his passing in 2008. “‘B’ said he never said it. I had to take him at his word for it.”

The Gay Sergeant told to tone down 'gayness' will lead new diversity unit!
CLAYTON, Mo. — A gay St. Louis County police sergeant who was awarded nearly $20 million in a discrimination lawsuit has been promoted to lieutenant and picked as the leader of a newly created diversity and inclusion unit.

Police Chief Jon Belmar said in a news release Thursday night announcing the unit that the department “must demonstrate to our officers and to our community that we prioritize diversity and inclusion."
The announcement comes after a jury ruled in October in favor of Keith Wildhaber, who says he was passed over for promotion 23 times and was told to “tone down” his “gayness.”
Attorneys for both sides have agreed to mediation in hopes of reaching a settlement that would avoid a lengthy appeals process. But Wildhaber’s attorney, Russ Riggan, and County Executive Sam Page's spokesman, Doug Moore, agreed that the promotion was not part of potential settlement.

Riggan described it as “hopefully a crucial first step for the county in making necessary changes to its culture in order to better serve the citizens." He said he hoped mediation would “achieve a fair resolution that allows the parties to put an end to this difficult and long-running litigation battle.”
Ed Smart, dad of kidnapping survivor Elizabeth Smart, says there's no gay 'cure'
Wildhaber will report to Belmar, leading a unit tasked with strengthening current diversity programs and implementing new measures that “will provide confidence to the community we serve, and those within our department who provide such service and protection,” the department said.

Since the verdict, Page has remade the county’s Board of Police Commissioners, naming replacements to four of the five posts. He said in a tweet that the board transformation started the change and that creating the new unit is the next step.

“Appointment of a well-qualified leader whose perspective is informed by life experiences demonstrates the county’s commitment to progress," Page said.

Chance The Rapper Cancels 2020 'Big Tour'!
Chance the Rapper’s “The Big Tour” is now a no-go. The Chicago-born rapper broke the unfortunate news last night (December 15) on Instagram, where he revealed the important reason that led him to calling off his trek all together. “Hey guys I’ve decided to cancel the Big Tour. I know it sucks and its been a lot of back and forth with reschedules and rerouting, but it’s for the best,” Chance wrote.

“I’m gonna take this time to be with family, make some new music and develop my best show to date,” he continued. “I’m deeply sorry to anyone with a ticket who has supported me this past decade by coming to a show and rocking out with me and I feel even worse for anyone who was planning on making this their first Chance concert. … I promise to come back much stronger and better in 2020 and hope to see some of you guys there. I truly love you and God bless.”

Albeit unfortunate, the cancellation news should come as no surprise. Three months ago, the “No Problem” emcee pushed back his jaunt in September in order to spend time with his family after he and his wife Kirsten welcomed their second child, daughter Marli. The “Big Tour” was planned to promote Chance’s collab-heavy debut album, The Big Day, which dropped July 26. The effort included features from stars like Shawn Mendes ("Ballin Flossin") to Gucci Mane ("Big Fish"), MadeinTYO to Megan Thee Stallion ("Handsome") and more.

Michelle Williams Was Almost Electrocuted While On ‘The Masked Singer’!
Michelle Williams recently opened up about a technical difficulty that could’ve caused serious injury while filming The Masked Singer. During a sitdown on Entertainment Tonight, the former Destiny’s Child singer said she was once almost electrocuted during a dress rehearsal.
Williams said while she was rehearsing for week four’s episode,   there was supposed to be an elaborate burst of smoke when she hit a high note. But something went wrong.

“During dress rehearsal, I’m standing on the platform, and they’re trying to have CO2 smoke come out,” Williams said.
Turns out something had a short circuit and mixed with the smoke and shocked her costume. The shock was so strong that it split the boot of her costume open.
“All I know is I looked down at my shoe, and the thing could talk,” she said.

Williams was later unmasked during week eight’s episode.
She may not be on The Masked Singer but she will still be hitting the stage. She is currently starring in the production A Snow White Christmas at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium as the Evil Queen until December 22nd.

Usher Wraps His Final Herpes Lawsuit, Case Officially Closed!
Usher can breathe a sigh of relief — his herpes court case is now officially a thing of the past.
“Love in da club” can be a dangerous thing, and in 2017, Usher was accused of having infected at least three different women with the sexually transmitted disease. It was alleged that the “Don’t Waste My Time” singer had contracted the STD around 2009 or 2010. This followed his divorce from stylist Tameka Foster, with whom he has two sons. A couple years later, Usher had a fling with an unidentified woman and engaged in sexual relations without a condom, passing on the disease.
According to a 2012 lawsuit filed at the Superior Court in Los Angeles, Usher had reportedly told his partner that he was fine, but she developed an infection and legions three weeks later. She then confronted him, and he paid her more than $2,700 medical bill.

The lawsuit was ultimately settled for $1.1 million, but three more women and one man all came forth accusing Usher of also giving them herpes after having sex without informing them that he was infected. They all claim he risked their health by not telling him about his alleged diagnosis and were seeking unspecified damages.
Although one of the cases was settled quietly for $20 million, and the other three plaintiffs also received payment, the Grammy Award winner still had an on-going legal battle with his insurance company.

New York Marine and General Insurance had refused to pay any damages that Usher was ordered to pay, claiming that STD legal actions are not covered in their policies and that the 41-year-old did not inform them of the 2012 lawsuit when he signed up with them in 2016, The Blast reported.

Following a year-long battle, the insurance company has now decided to drop their lawsuit against the singer!

Nipsey Hussle’s Bodyguard Attacks Wack 100!
J. Roc, the late rapper’s personal security guard and close friend, allegedly attacked The Game’s manager Wack 100 following Wack’s recent comments about Nipsey.
J. Roc reportedly punched Wack several times in the face before taking off during Game’s set at Rolling Loud in L.A. on Sunday night. Video of the aftermath, obtained by TMZ, shows venue security having to restrain Wack from going after J. Roc backstage at the festival.

Wack later responded in a video on Instagram, claiming he was unscathed during the incident. “Try again,” he said. “Next time you send a motherfu**er, don’t send a motherfu**er that know how to run. Send a motherfu**er that wanna fight.”

He added, “Wack still living. Wack ain’t take no Ls. Close but no cigar.”
Earlier this month, Wack, who also manages Blueface and Ray J, stirred controversy when he said that Nipsey was not worthy of being called a “legend.”
“How many albums did Nipsey drop? One album. This not no personal shit I’m talking about. It’s just real shit,” he told TMZ. “The man died with a million followers, no radio hits, no platinum hits, right? No world tours, right? After he died, he went platinum, sold a bunch of records, followers went up 9-10 million. We gotta define what a legend is and what a legend ain’t.”

Nipsey’s friends including Meek Mill, Mustard, and T.I. took to social media in his defense. “Record sales and #1 hits ain’t the only barometer for legendary status,” wrote Tip.”IMPACT is what’s important. Although his notoriety DID grow exponentially more after his demise… his impact is undeniable.”

In the wake of Nipsey’s death in March, J. Roc announced his retirement. “I got the Babies and L forever I’m done with all this Shit I retire from being a bodyguard I love you HUSSLE THA GREAT,” he wrote in his heartfelt tribute.

North Carolina School Resource Officer Fired After Video Shows Child Being Slammed To The Ground And Dragged!
A Vance County School Resource Officer has been fired days after a video emerged of him slamming a middle school child to the ground twice
On Monday, Vance County Sheriff Curtis Brame confirmed to ABC11 that the unnamed deputy was terminated “effective immediately.” The deputy was previously on paid administrative leave.
The termination stems from a video that was posted online on Thursday, that showed the officer throwing the 6th-grade student at Vance County Middle School to the ground before dragging the student down the hall.

After reviewing the video, Brame said he was “stunned” and requested North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation to look into what happened. Vance County Middle School officials issued a statement Friday saying:
“We are aware of the incident that occurred at Vance County Middle School, involving a school resource officer. We are deeply concerned by the actions that took place. School and district officials are working closely and in full cooperation with the local authorities to address this matter consistent with school board policy and state laws. The safety of our students has been and continues to be of the utmost importance to our district. Should you have further questions, please direct those to the Vance County Sheriff’s Office.”

In the meantime, the student’s family says he’s recovering at home, but he’ll be OK. But, as for the officer, Vance County District Attorney Mike Waters said the extent of the child’s injuries could impact any potential charges, CBS News reports.

‘FOREVER & EVER’
Personally I think “only the good die young” is a more eloquent way of putting it, but I suppose you get to the same endpoint.
