On the power of makeup: “I never felt beautiful, and I still have days that I don’t feel beautiful,” she had told me a few weeks earlier during a phone conversation. “All of the insecurities that I’ve dealt with my whole life from being bullied when I was younger, they come right back up to bite me. Then I put makeup on, and before I know it I feel this superhero within. It gives me those wings to fly.”
On her new makeup line: “I don’t want people to have a feeling of control actually at all,” she says. “I want people to feel completely liberated by this line, to do whatever they want with it. Whether they wear a ton of it, buy it — or don’t. I just want them to love the message. It’s like just being excited that there’s a party going on down the street where everybody’s invited.”

#RHOA: Eva Marcille Celebrates Her ‘Flower’ Baby Shower With ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ Cast!
Pregnant Eva Marcille enjoyed a flower-themed baby shower with her Real Housewives of Atlanta costars on Saturday, September 14
“The entire cast of RHOA was there – Nene [Leakes], Shamea [Morton], Kandi [Burruss], Porsha [Williams], Marlo [Hampton], Cynthia [Bailey],” the model’s rep told Us Weekly on Monday, September 16. “Cynthia cohosted the shower, [which was] held at Natasha and Drew Maloney’s house. Eva wanted a flower child-themed shower. Love and Light was the theme.”
The pregnant star, 34, gave Bailey, 52, a sweet social media shoutout on Saturday. “My love, My Ace, My Girl @cynthiabailey10 words can’t express my appreciation for our friendship,” Marcille wrote. “I adore you on so many levels and I’m so happy to call you my FRIEND. Love you to the moon and back. #MaverickSterling #FlowerShower.”
She went on to post more pics from the baby bash on Instagram, writing, “My shower was so bomb!!! So much love, so much support!!! Just a few pics but so many more memories.”
The America’s Next Top Model season 3 winner announced in March that she and her husband, Michael Sterling, are expecting their second child together. “She is pregnant and due in the fall,” a source told Us at the time.
The Bravo personality and Sterling welcomed their son, Michael, now 17 months, in April 2018. Marcille also shares 5-year-old daughter, Marley, with her ex-boyfriend Kevin McCall.
“Eva Marcille and fiancé Michael Sterling are happy to announce the birth of their baby boy, Michael Todd Sterling Jr.,” her rep told Us when the baby boy arrived. “Marley Rae’s little brother made his debut at 5:59 p.m. on April 13, 2018, weighing 7.3 pounds and measuring 19.5 inches. Mom and Michael Jr. are doing amazing and thank everyone for their light and love.”
The pair wed in October 2018 in Atlanta, following a December 2017 engagement.
#Empire: Taraji P. Henson Shares Uplifting Words Ahead Of 'Empire's Final Season
"She gave me a second life in this industry and made me a pop star in my 40s." Before the final season of Empire returns to Fox on Tuesday (Sept. 24), Taraji P. Henson has shared her thoughts on her character Cookie Lyon and the impact the series has made on her career.
"Cookie has meant so much to me," the 49-year-old said to Entertainment Weekly. "She gave me a second life in this industry and made me a pop star in my 40s. Cookie was a movement. Long after I'm gone, people will be talking about Cookie."
As the television drama enters season six following five seasons of intense storylines and character developments, viewers were left with Cookie not willing to be by Lucious' (played by Terrence Howard) side as he decided to go on the run.
"[A] lot of drama is coming your way, just like Empire is known to do," the actress said.
She spoke briefly about her television son Jussie Smollett (who plays Jamal) not returning for season six. "We miss him immensely," the award-winning actress said. Jamal's absence is to be explained that he is moving to London as a newlywed.
Entertainment Weekly also reports that the Empire creative team has worked on unveiling an eye-popping final series.
"This is the end of a great legacy," the new co-host of the daytime talk show The Tea Talk said. "Everybody is putting their best foot forward to bring it down with a bang."

It's confirmed. Fans will have their hands on a new Kanye West album before the month is over.
Following his Sunday Service to Atlanta on Sunday (Sept. 15) with over 600 attendees in the building that included T.I. and Tiny, 2 Chainz, Chris Tucker and more, Yeezy popped up in the small town of Batesville, Ind. to attend a free concert to help raise money for Infinity's Song and singer Victory Boyd–signees of Roc Nation. While addressing the crowd at one point, a fan-captured video shows 'Ye confirming his new album, Jesus Is King, will be out on Sept. 27.
"Jesus Is King is out Sept. 27, so let's continue this..." Kanye says in the clip.
Prior to Jesus Is King, Kanye had been working on his Yandhi album that he'd announced in 2018. It seems as though he may have scrapped the project in its entirety, and it's possible that recent leaks led to that decision. In a Twitter Q&A last month, G.O.O.D. Music president Pusha-T noted the leaks were ruining what the camp had planned.
"I hate it, luckily we are talented beyond measure and can always cook up more,” Push wrote to a fan asking about the leaks. “But I honestly hate it for the sake of making an event of a song or project, it ruins all that we have in store for u guys.”
With a new Yeezy album on the way, it likely means a new tour is on the horizon as well, so his fans definitely have a lot to look forward to.

Alright, alright. I know that literally everyone and their mother is waiting with bated breath to see who Bradley Cooper is gonna end up dating following his split from his ex-girlfriend, Irina Shayk. And we’re family,” Laura told Us Weekly on Saturday. “I mean, everybody’s always gonna comment about whatever seems intriguing, and he’s the greatest human and one of my best friends in the world. So I don’t blame anyone for having deep curiosity about his life cause he’s spectacular."

Kevin Hart Is Sued For $60 Million By Woman Featured In Sex Tape With Him
Kevin Hart is reportedly being sued by Montia Sabbag, the woman he was featured with in a sex tape made back in 2017. According to reports, she’s suing for $60 million for intentional infliction of emotional distress and invasion of privacy.
In the suit, Montia claims the 40-year-old comedian conspired with his friend (JT Jackson) to secretly record their encounter.
In 2017, Kevin made headlines when he cheated on his then pregnant wife Eniko Hart.
Kevin and Montia were said to have hooked up in a Las Vegas hotel room and the incident was filmed allegedly by JT, who was later charged with 2 counts of extortion relating to alleged efforts to get money out of Hart to keep the tape under wraps. JT denied ever extorting the comedian.

In Montia’s suit, she claims that the incident was planned by Kevin and JT, claiming that Kevin needed publicity and that’s why he and JT allegedly hid the camera.

Kevin has repeatedly denied having any knowledge of the recording. He also apologized for his infidelity.
Kevin is currently recovering from a serious car accident.
Faith Evans Teases Joint Tour With Lil’ Kim
We love to see it. Faith Evans and Lil’ Kim could be headlining a joint tour in the coming months.
The R&B veteran shared the exciting news while celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Notorious B.I.G.’s Ready to Die album at a mural unveiling in New York on Friday night.
“We about to tour together y’all,” said Evans to the packed crowd. “We’re going to do a first ladies tour.”
At this time, no dates have been announced for the upcoming trek.
Back in 2016, Evans and the Queen Bee put their long-standing differences aside ahead of the Bad Boy Reunion Tour. Evans presented the legendary rapper with a special award at the VH1 Hip-Hop Honors the same year.

They divorced after he stepped out on their marriage and had a baby with another woman.
While the reality TV star is willing and ready to reunite with her ex-husband, she does admit it is confusing for their children.

Pop Star Rihanna Signs With Sony/ATV Music Publishing
Music superstar and business mogul Rihanna has signed with Sony/ATV Music Publishing, according to a rep that has confirmed the news with Variety. This new business venture reunites the singer with her longtime publisher Jon Platt, who became the chairman and CEO at #Sony Music company earlier this year.
Rihanna, along with Jay-Z and Beyoncé, have known and worked closely together with Platt for quite some time. Back in 2015, the “Needed Me” singer joined Platt during his reign with Warner/Chappell as their CEO. But now, he’s eager to be reunited with her at Sony. ”I’m proud to have known Rihanna since the beginning of her career,” he said, adding, “Music, fashion, philanthropy and a heart of gold have solidified Rihanna’s position as one of the biggest icons in the world. It is an honor to be reunited with her at Sony/ATV.”
This means that the Navy’s long wait for new music may possibly be coming to an end very soon. Rihanna has reportedly been working on two different albums for the last few years and one or both could drop at any time now that she’s signed with Sony/ATV Music. Reports say she’s been working on a highly anticipated dancehall album as well as a pop/R&B album, and although she recently revealed that the album still not finished, maybe we can get a single? ….one can only hope.
The Barbadian star is the world’s richest female musician, and her last seven album releases have reported gone a combined 22-times platinum in the U.S.
NFL Star Chris Smith Pays Tribute To Girlfriend After Her Sudden Death “She’s In A Better Place Now”!
Cleveland Browns defensive end Chris Smith paid tribute to his girlfriend, Petara Cordero, who died in a car accident Wednesday. Via Instagram, Smith shared a statement saying, “God has a plan for all of us we can’t understand.”
“But she is in a better place now and she can rest easy. My wifey my best friend and the mother of my beautiful daughter. Love you baby #StayStrong #RIPMyLove”, Smith’s message continued; along with images and video of Cordero. The couple just celebrated the birth of their daughter, Haven Harris Smith, last month
Cordero was killed after being struck by a car while the two were pulled over with a blown tire. The woman driving the vehicle that hit Cordero admitted to drinking before driving, however, a toxicology report is still pending and no charges have been filed. Smith was not impaired, according to police.
Browns owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam said in a statement, “Words cannot describe the sorrow we feel for Chris following the loss of his girlfriend, Petara. Our entire organization mourns with Chris, his family, and the Cordero family. We will do everything possible to offer them our support, comfort and any resources in this most difficult time.”
Wendy Williams Talk Show Renewed For Two More Seasons After Season 11 Debut!
Well y’all She’s back!
After her long Hot Girl Summer, Wendy Williams returned to her daytime talk show today to kick off Season 11 following a month-and-a-half hiatus. After wrapping up her season opener show, the talk show queen announced the “Wendy Williams Show” has been renewed for two more seasons on FOX Television stations through 2021-22. Season 10 of her show wrapped up on August 1st.
“I want to tell Fox and all of our stations today how much their support and confidence means to me,” Wendy said. “They should know we will never stop working very hard to bring our dedicated Wendy Watchers and audience ‘co-hosts’ the freshest national daytime television! I love you for watching!”
“Wendy is family to us, and post-AM news, her program jump starts the day in our markets,” said Frank Cicha, EVP Programming at Fox Television Stations. “Plus, she’s got enough wigs to make sure the show never gets stale.”
No divorce is going to stop Wendy from staying on her game, obviously.

Congrats! Colin Kaepernick’s Nike ‘Dream Crazy’ Commercial Wins Emmy Award
Colin Kaepernick‘s 2018 Nike ad titled “Dream Crazy” won for outstanding commercial at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Sunday.
Kaepernick narrated and starred in the ad, which surrounds the idea of overcoming challenges and others’ belief that your dream is unrealistic.
“If you’re a girl from Compton, don’t just become a tennis player. Become the greatest athlete ever,” he said in the ad, mentioning Serena Williams, who learned to play tennis with her sister Venus Williams on the courts of Compton, California, where they grew up.
Kaepernick mentions LeBron James too and encourages others to not just be “the best basketball player on the planet,” but to be bigger than your sport. The ad then shows James at his I Promise School that he started in 2017 in his hometown of Akron, Ohio, for at-risk students.
But the part of the ad that seemed to get the most attention is Kaepernick acknowledging that he hasn’t played in the NFL since the 2016 season.
The 31-year-old began kneeling for the national anthem before games back then to protest systematic racism. And after he opted out of his contract with the San Francisco 49ers, he wasn’t picked up by another squad.
“Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything,” said Kaepernick in the spot. “So don’t ask if your dreams are crazy, ask if they’re crazy enough.”
After it ran, major backlash ensued, and many were angry at Nike for working with the quarterback. College of the Ozarks, for example, in Point Lookout, Missouri, said its teams would no longer wear uniforms with the Nike logo.
And then mayor of Kenner, Louisiana, Ben Zahn, ordered the town’s recreation department and booster clubs not to wear or buy any more Nike products due to the ad. Some burned their Nike products as well.
But despite the backlash, Nike’s stock price reached an all-time high after the ad aired, and many looked at Kaepernick as even more of a hero for protesting. Nike was praised for the spot as well.
According to TMZ, Kaepernick is extremely proud of the award because he was hands-on in the ad’s creative process.
New ‘Saturday Night Live’ Cast Member Shane Gillis Fired Over Racial Slur Use
Embattled stand-up comic Shane Gillis will not be joining Saturday Night Live this fall over the controversy surrounding his past racial slur use. The NBC comedy program just made the announcement, apologizing for any deficiencies in their vetting system that allowed for Gills to be hired in the first place.
“After talking with Shane Gillls, we have decided that he will not be joining SNL,” an SNL spokesperson said on behalf of Lorne Michaels. “We want SNL to have a variety of voices and points of view within the show, and we hired Shane on the strength of his talent as comedian and his impressive audition for SNL. We were not aware of his prior remarks that have surfaced over the past few days. The language he used is offensive, hurtful and unacceptable. We are sorry that we did not see these clips earlier, and that our vetting process was not up to our standard.”
Several hours after Gillis was announced as a new featured player for the coming season on Thursday, a 2018 YouTube video surfaced in which he uses a racial slur against Asians.
After several days of continuous outcry, Gillls has been let go by NBC. Gillis’ offensive comments on the now-deleted video from a podcast, Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast, were even more jarring since SNL that same day cast its first Asian-American cast member, Bowen Yang. Additionally, some questionable comments made by Gillis on other editions of the podcast were unearthed, which made him continuing on SNL even more controversial.
After his firing by NBC was announced, Gillis slapped back on Twitter, saying “I was always a Mad TV guy anyway,” referring to SNL’s one-time Fox rival. (Read his full statement below).
Gillis, Yang and Chloe Fineman were announced as new featured players for the upcoming season of SNL earlier today.
As backlash against Gillls’ remarks grew and even involved Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang, he issued a tepid apology on Instagram Thursday night, in which he wrote, “I’m happy to apologize to anyone who’s actually offended by anything I’ve said,” adding “My intention is never to hurt anyone but I am trying to be the best comedian I can be and sometimes that requires risks.”
Landing SNL was the big break for Gillis, whose résumé includes Comedy Central radio show The Bonfire. He has performed stand-up at various New York clubs and was featured as a New Face at the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal.
John Legend Criticizes Felicity Huffman’s 14-Day Sentence: “Prisons And Jails Are Not The Answer”
John Legend, who is an advocate for criminal justice reform, weighed in Saturday on Felicity Huffman’s 14-day prison sentence for her part in the college admissions bribery scandal.
A federal judge sentenced the Desperate Housewives actress Friday, and ordered her to pay a fine of $30,000 as well as perform 250 hours of community service.
The two-week sentence caused a stir on social media, making Huffman a trending topic throughout the day. While some said the Emmy-winning star didn’t deserve to go to prison, many others insisted she should have been given more jail time.
Critics cited examples of low-income individuals and people of color receiving years in jail for such minor offenses as stealing a loaf of bread. Others mentioned Connecticut mom Tanya McDowell, who in 2012 was sentenced to five years in prison for enrolling her son in a school district where he didn’t live. According to the Connecticut Post, McDowell told the court she was seeking a “better education” for the little boy.
Huffman offered a similar explanation for paying a fixer $15,000 to have someone correct her oldest daughter’s answers on an SAT exam.
Social media users pointed out the disparities between the sentences, with some saying Huffman’s 14-day sentence is a result of celebrity privilege and or white privilege.
Legend addressed the issue in a series of tweets. Without saying Huffman’s name, the Grammy-winning singer/songwriter suggested Americans have become “desensitized” to the U.S. prison system.
“I get why everyone gets mad when rich person X gets a short sentence and poor person of color Y gets a long one,” he began. “The answer isn’t for X to get more; it’s for both of them to get less (or even none!!!) We should level down not up.”
“Americans have become desensitized to how much we lock people up. Prisons and jails are not the answer to every bad thing everyone does, but we’ve come to use them to address nearly every societal ill,” he continued.
Legend then mentioned some of the cases people cited as examples of inequities in sentencing.
“It’s insane we locked a woman up for 5 years for sending her kid to the wrong school district. Literally everyone involved in that decision should be ashamed of themselves,” he tweeted.

The musician went on to argue that nothing is gained by locking up Huffman for 14 days, writing: “No one in our nation will benefit from the 14 days an actress will serve for cheating in college admissions.”
