'OITNB' Star Danielle Brooks Appearing In 'Shape' Magazine
Danielle Brooks got emotional when opening up about what appearing on the cover of Shape Magazine means to her.
The "Orange is The New Black" star broke down when describing the powerful meaning behind her cover and her journey on proving bullies wrong.

"This is a big deal because I feel like the universe, the way the world works, it has built these invisible bullets to bully us in telling us who we’re supposed to be and what we’re supposed to look like," the expectant mom said.
Getting teary-eyed, Brooks added. “I’ve always had this desire to prove people wrong. To say, this body that I’m in is enough.”
Then the actress really broke down, talking about how monumental this is now that she's expecting her first child.
"Now that I am about to be a mother, it means even more to make sure that this human being that I’m going to bring in to the world knows that they are enough when they’re hit with all these bullets coming at them," she said with tears streaming down her face
Brooks shared the photograph hours later, thanking the magazine for "making this dream become a reality."

While her Netflix hit show has come to an end after 7 seasons, the actress will be keeping busy when she welcomes her fist child.

#RHOA: Due to a Pic on Kenya’s IG page some seem to think there’s trouble in Paradise for Kenya and Marc!
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore attempted to celebrate her husband Marc Daly’s 46th birthday with some soccer tickets and an Instagram post, but it backfired when fans started speculating that the couple was headed for divorce. Did the picture in Moore’s post reveal that there is some serious trouble in her marriage?
Moore surprised Daly with tickets to a soccer game between Atlanta United FC and New York City FC at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on August 11th, and she shared a pic of her and Daly at the game. While the former beauty queen was all smiles in the photo, Daly looks solemn and detached, and fans couldn’t help but point it out.

“He looks very unhappy…blink twice Marc,” wrote one fan, with another adding, “I don’t think he really wants to be there. He has a dead eye expression which means he’d rather be somewhere else. ”
The negative comments kept coming in, with some saying that Daly never looks happy when he is with his wife and the marriage will end in divorce, and others saying some serious underlying issues are going on.

Some fans had other theories as to why Daly looked so unhappy. One blamed the hot weather, while others suspected Daly’s team lost the game.
The comments on the post were so overwhelmingly negative that Moore ended up disabling them just one day after she posted the pic.
Moore and Daly met in 2016 when their mutual friend, chef Roblé Ali, introduced them. They started dating that December, and just six months later they eloped in St. Lucia.

“I probably would have married him in 30 days — the feeling was that strong,” Moore told People Magazine. “But we wanted to wait and get to know each other and make sure it wasn’t an infatuation. We needed to make sure it was actually real.”

Nah I think its just a pic. They seem Happy!

#Empire: Exactly How Much Will Empire Milk the Alleged Jussie Smollett Attack?
Is it any surprise that the series that gave us “Drip Drop” might decide to milk the drama around Jussie Smollett for an episode (or more)?
At the least, the show is heading straight into the danger zone by, according to TMZ, filming (“getting ready to shoot something”) around the site of Smollett’s alleged attack in Chicago. The criminal charges he faced for allegedly lying about being the victim of a hate crime were later dropped. TMZ reports:

Art really does imitate life — the “Empire” crew is firing up its cameras pretty much exactly where their former star, Jussie Smollett, insists he fell victim to a racist and homophobic attack.
FOX had a bunch of crew members from the show setting up a shot Tuesday in Chicago ... literally within a stone’s throw from where Jussie says the Osundairo brothers gave him a clobbering, poured bleach on him and left a rope around his neck.
The set is literally in the shadow of Jussie’s apartment building ... it’s the high-rise with the reflective windows.

It was previously unclear to me what was even happening on Empire, as a former fan who hasn’t watched the show since Season 3 (and was then confused with the Tinashe storyline when I checked back in, circa 2017). But Jamal is still alive and trapped somewhere on a honeymoon. Smollett won’t be returning for the final sixth season, but I’m assuming some elaborate Jamal death is being planned that has a meta connection with real life. As TMZ so wisely notes about the filming in Chicago, “this can’t be a coincidence.” My only hope is that they play “Drip Drop” at Jamal’s funeral.

#HipHopNews: Trina Addresses Nicki Minaj ‘Baps’ Controversy
Trina is breaking her silence on the controversy surrounding her “BAPS” collaboration with Nicki Minaj.
Earlier this week, Reginald Saunders, an A&R executive for Trina’s Rockstarr Music Group, called Minaj a “deceiver and manipulator” after she reportedly refused to promote the track and shoot a video for it.

“This isn’t the first time @nickiminaj has pulled this stunt and trust me it’s cool. I can’t get over how fake people can be for a Lil fame , likes and followers,” said Saunders. “I can’t wait to see how all of this is about to play out because you can’t stop karmas reign, shame on you .. I mostly feel sorry for the #barbs because they have no clue of the deceiver and manipulator their leader is.”
The original post has since been deleted, but Minaj did address the drama on Queen Radio this week and called out Trina for not checking her team.

“For your team or anybody’s team to feel like I owed you anything or to go out and disrespect me because I’m showing love to another female and you’re not gonna check them, then that’s not cool,” she said. “I dropped my own song that same day and still asked you, ‘Hey, come up to Queen Radio and promote your album.’ These are things that I don’t have to do. I’m not entitled to do anything for anyone. No one does anything for me. Y’all don’t go out of your way to stop the hate and jump in front of the hate train for me and do all of that shit.”

Trina weighed in on Instagram Live Wednesday, downplaying rumors that she and Nicki have beef. “This isn’t about Nicki Minaj and a video. I had a 45-minute conversation on the phone with Nicki Minaj about business, about my record, about this song, about everything. It’s not about a video. It’s bigger than a video. The video is just a portion of what’s happening.”
During their conversation, she acknowledged that Nicki did her part and doesn’t fault her. “That wasn’t a discussion that we had. The discussion was more so about the business. I respect that. She did her part. It’s up to me and my team to do our part. That’s how I feel about it. This is my project. I worked six years for this. I don’t expect nobody—not Nick, not nobody else on the album, not my team, not nobody to do what I need to be done for my project.”
She also accepted accountability on behalf of her team. “My team speaking out, my team got so much to say, I’ma take the blame for my team ‘cause guess what, me and my team, we dropped the ball,” she added. “Bad business is what’s causing all of this havoc to happen. All of this nonsense, all of this drama, this personal, everybody got an opinion, that’s what it is, it’s bad business. It has nothing to do with any artist that’s featured on my album.”

During her IG Live session, Trina revealed that all the features on her album The One, including Nicki, were done based on her personal relationships and no money was exchanged. “However you feel, I’m not gonna sit here and allow or accept you to be disrespectful to nobody that contributed to my album. I put out a great body of work. I put out an amazing album. I worked extremely hard. There’s no major, there’s no nothing. There was just Trina, the grind, my relationship, and my name, my brand. Every feature on my album are people that believed in me, that did favors for me. I didn’t pay for these features. They were favors. Do you know what a favor is? That means I f**k with you, that’s why I did this favor.”

She also defended Nicki and chided her A&R for disrespecting her. “It’s a lot of stuff that’s going on. Everybody’s frustrated. Everybody has an opinion and you’re entitled to that, but you’re not gonna disrespect nobody, another female artist,” she said. “You’re not gonna disrespect Nicki Minaj or nobody else that’s on my album because these people did this off my face and my favor.”

In the end, Trina has decided to take the high road. “I’m not here for the blame game. I don’t do the messy publicity stunts, the public—all that shit, I don’t do that. I’m not an Internet thug or Twitter fingers. I don’t do all that. I’m not gonna play the blame game. I’ma take full responsibility from everything that came from my side. This is my project, my album. I’m a stand on 10 toes and deal with that.”

US Reps. Omar And Tlaib Barred From Visiting Israel After Trump Pushes For Ban
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has banned two Democratic U.S. congresswomen from visiting the country and the Palestinian territories this weekend, according to a government official.
Israeli radio reported that in an interview, Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely said the country would bar entry to "those who reject our right to exist in the world."
The move, which marks a reversal for Netanyahu and his government, comes after President Trump publicly urged the Israeli leader on Twitter to block Reps. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., and Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., saying it would be showing "weakness" if they were allowed to visit.

"It would show great weakness if Israel allowed Rep. Omar and Rep. Tlaib to visit. They hate Israel & all Jewish people, & there is nothing that can be said or done to change their minds. Minnesota and Michigan will have a hard time putting them back in office. They are a disgrace!" Trump tweeted.
The two representatives have been vocal critics of the Israeli government and Trump's unwavering support of Netanyahu. They also voted against a nonbinding resolution condemning a Palestinian-led movement calling for boycotts, divestment and sanctions in Israel, which they have repeatedly defended.

Tlaib has accused Israel of "racist policies." Israeli law bars visits by people who support the global boycott movement against Israel over its treatment of the Palestinians. Israel says the boycott challenges the country's legitimacy.

But as recently as last month, Israeli Ambassador Ron Dermer said Tlaib and Omar would be allowed to visit Israel "out of respect for the U.S. Congress and the great alliance between Israel and America."
MIFTAH, the group that helped organize the lawmakers' trip, called the ban "a clear case of discrimination and hostility based on political views and ethnic background, deserving of moral indignation and unequivocal condemnation in Palestine and the United States."
Rep. Stacey Plakett, D-Virgin Islands, "in order to facilitate their engagement with Palestinian civil society and to provide them with an opportunity to see the reality of occupation for themselves."
Omar tweeted Thursday afternoon that "Trump's Muslim ban is what Israel is implementing, this time against two duly elected Members of Congress."
Trump has singled out the representatives in the past as part of his accusation that Democrats are anti-Israel and anti-Semitic. The president ignited a massive controversy last month after he lashed out Tlaib and Omar, as well as freshman Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ayanna Pressley, tweeting that they should "go back" to where they came from and that he doesn't believe they are "capable" of loving the country.

Several pro-Israel groups promptly criticized Israel's decision, including J Street. President Jeremy Ben-Ami called it "dangerous, unacceptable and wrong."
"As sitting members of Congress representing hundreds of thousands of Americans in their districts, Reps. Omar and Tlaib have the same right as every one of their colleagues to visit Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory," Ben-Ami said in a statement.
Democratic Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi said in a statement she was "deeply saddened by the news" and "prays that the Government of Israel will reverse" its denial.
"Israel's denial of entry to Congresswomen Tlaib and Omar is a sign of weakness, and beneath the dignity of the great State of Israel," Pelosi wrote. "The President's statements about the Congresswomen are a sign of ignorance and disrespect, and beneath the dignity of the Office of the President."

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., said in a statement that Israel's decision "is outrageous, regardless of the itinerary or their views." He said discussions are underway that could allow Tlaib to visit relatives in the West Bank, which Israel says it would consider if she reapplied for a personal visit.

Colin Kaepernick Thanks Eric Reid, Supporters After NFL, Jay-Z Partnership
Colin Kaepernick has responded to the new music and entertainment partnership between the NFL and Jay-Z's Roc Nation, thanking former teammate Eric Reid and his supporters.
And to the people - I see you, I hear you and I love you! Thank you for having my back!!!✊🏾
At the introductory press conference for the partnership between Roc Nation and the NFL, Jay-Z fielded numerous questions about his past relationship with Kaepernick and defended his decision to work with the NFL, per Jason Reid of The Undefeated:

"We forget that Colin's whole thing was to bring attention to social injustice. In that case, this is a success. This is the next phase. There [are] two parts of protesting. You go outside and you protest, and then the company or the individual says, 'I hear you. What do we do next?'
"For me it's like action, [an] actionable item, what are we gonna do with it? Everyone heard, we hear what you're saying, and everybody knows I agree with what you're saying [in Kaepernick's underlying message]. So what are we gonna do? You know what I'm saying? [Help] millions and millions of people, or we get stuck on Colin not having a job."

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell also spoke about the partnership:
"I don't think either one of us expected that this relationship wouldn't have its critics. But you don't let the critics or the negativity overwhelm the chance to do something really positive. We talked about this [Kaepernick's situation].
"We talked about a variety of issues. When we first met, we talked about entertainment and how we do that. But the No. 1 thing we went to was impact, that we can have an impact together, and that we can do some really positive things in our communities."

But Reid wasn't alone in standing up for Kaepernick and questioning both the NFL's and Jay-Z's motives after the announcement:
Kaepernick became a figure of national controversy in the 2016 season for protesting police brutality and racial injustice by kneeling during the playing of the national anthem before NFL games. He hasn't played since that season, and many have concluded he has been blackballed by the NFL and its team owners.

Kaepernick and Reid—who was a free agent in the 2018 offseason and went unsigned until September of that year—sued the NFL for collusion, reaching a confidential settlement with the league.
Jay-Z was supportive of Kaepernick in the past, wearing his jersey during a 2017 performance on Saturday Night Live.

Per Jem Aswad of Variety, that same year he told the crowd at a Miami concert: "I want y'all to understand, when people are kneeling and putting their fists up in the air and doing what they're doing, it's not about the flag, it's about justice. It's about injustice. And that's not a black or white thing, it's a human issue."

Lil Nas X’s Historic Career is covered by TIME’ Magazine
Lil Nas X, who came out as gay just weeks before his hit track “Old Town Road” broke records as the longest-running (19 weeks and counting) #1 hit on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, is profiled in a new TIME magazine cover story.

Lil Nas X tells the magazine that he never planned on coming out because, he thought to himself,”I know the people who listen to this the most, and they’re not accepting of homosexuality.”
But, writes Andrew Chow, something happened during LGBTQ Pride month and he was emboldened. Said Lil Nas X: “I never would have done that if I wasn’t in a way pushed by the universe. In June, I’m seeing Pride flags everywhere and seeing couples holding hands–little stuff like that.”

The Hills' Whitney Port Says She Turned Down Chance to Spend a Night with Leonardo DiCaprio
The Hills‘ Whitney Port told a story in which she rejected spending a night with Leonardo DiCaprio.
It all started when she says she was out at a club with her BFF Andrea Cuttler around a decade ago.
“I have been dying to tell people this story for ages,” Whitney shared. “I feel like whenever I tell it to friends, no one believes me.”

Andrea described what happened on her podcast, and said, “Leo comes up to you [and] insinuated that, like, he had missed the week priors episode. And you’re like, is he telling me that he watches The City? This is very confusing, but also incredible…I remember dancing alone on the dance floor because you were in the corner talking to him and I didn’t want to intrude, but also like couldn’t leave.”
“I feel like I was getting drunk at that point,” Whitney said. “I don’t remember … it’s such a shame.”

Whitney then claims she and Leo entered into a “BBM relationship for like six months.” If you don’t know, BBM stands for Blackberry Messenger, which was a way for Blackberry users to instant message each other like a text.
Then, Whitney claims he invited her out on a date.
“He invited me out to Teddy’s and he invited me back over to his house, and I said no. I was too nervous. I had never had a one-night stand. I didn’t want to be with him alone,” she said.
Whitney added, “I was way too nervous to do it and then I lost my chance and it’s really one of my bigger regrets in life. If you didn’t think I was cool, now you probably do!”

Whitney Port has been married to producer Tim Rosenman since 2015 and Leonardo DiCaprio is currently dating model Camila Morrone.

Jada Pinkett Smith Says She & Will Smith Were ‘Sick Of’ Living Up To The Perfect Idea Of Marriage
Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith have been more open than usual about their marriage this year.
The pair married in 1997 and have two children: Jaden Christopher Syre Smith (born 1998). Will has a son Trey (born in 1992) from his previous marriage to Sheree Zampino.

From fighting off divorce rumors to explaining how they redefined marriage in a way that works for them, the power couple has given fans a peek into their personal lives like never before. Now, she’s explained why it was important for Will to make an appearance on her Red Table Talk show and give fans the reality about their relationship and marriage in general.
“What was really important about Will and I doing that show together — two things — first of all was to get rid of the idea that people in the public eye have perfect relationships. We were kind of sick of living up to that. We were real sick of it.”

Now that they’ve shared their story, Jada said they’re out here saving other marriages.
“And also Will being the successful guy that he is and being willing to share what his pitfalls were in the relationship and in his family, you can’t imagine how many other successful men called and said, ‘Wow, my wife has been saying the same thing for years. Because you said it, it opened my eyes and because you said it, now I’m willing to listen.'”

Jada, who has opened up about taking time for herself in her marriage, said she’s happier now than she’s ever been before.
Will appeared on a two-part special of Red Table Talk in October. While there, Will shared the true ups and downs of their marriage.

“Externally our family was winning. There was a period where mommy woke up and cried 45 days straight. I started keeping a diary. It was every morning. I think that’s the worst I’ve ever felt in our marriage. I was failing miserably… I felt that money and winning made a good relationship.”

R. Kelly No-Shows for Court After He 'Refused Transport' From Jail
R. Kelly did not feel like going to court today and the judge in his sex abuse case in Chicago and it seems the judge was not too pleased about it.
Kelly was supposed to appear in a Cook County courtroom on Thursday but Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Jennifer Gonzalez said the singer "refused transport" from the federal lockup in downtown Chicago, reports NBC News.

"The defendant was to be brought to court today. That was all worked out. The sheriffs were going to be bringing him over," Gonzalez said. "As I understand it, he refused transport and so that is why the defendant is not before your honor today."
Kelly's attorney, Steve Greenberg, said the depiction of Kelly refusing transport was "not 100-percent true" but did not go into greater detail.
"I don’t want to discuss matters that I discussed with the U.S. Marshals Service in open court,” Greenberg said. “Suffice it to say, the Marshal Service says that moving Mr. Kelly is a large undertaking."

Kelly's next hearing is on September 17 and the judge made a point to say that Kelly needed to be there.

Todd Chrisley’s Daughter Claims He Extorted Her With Sex Tape
Todd Chrisley has more than criminal and legal issues, as now his daughter has come forward alleging he and his son Chase have been extorting her in an effort to keep her mouth shut about details in the family’s current tax case.
Lindsie Chrisley filed a police report in Georgia one month before Todd and his wife, Julie, were indicted on tax fraud charges. Lindsie claims her father tried extorting her with a sex tape to get her to lie during her testimony.
Lindsie, who’s estranged from the family, alleges her brother, Chase, and her father were harassing her and threatening her with a sex tape she’s in, which she believes Chase purchased.

In the police report, obtained by TMZ, Lindsie claimed Todd and Chase threatened to release the sex tape if she didn’t lie about a certain “incident.” Sources close to Lindsie say the “incident” was related to her testimony about the tax case.
Sources close to Todd say he is outright denying the allegation, saying there’s no truth to it and Lindsie is lying. Todd also said he and Chase didn’t purchase Lindsie’s sex tape.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ Lindsie’s case in Georgia has been dismissed because the alleged threats and harassment occurred in Tennessee.

And to add to the Chrisley family drama, Chase Chrisley was slapped with a $16,886 tax lien for allegedly refusing to pay taxes on his 2014 income, according to documents obtained by The Blast. The lien reportedly warns Chase that the Internal Revenue Service may seize his property and assets if his debts are satisfied immediately.

Ed Sheeran Donates 300 Items To Charity Store, Including Signed Memorabilia
Ed Sheeran just donated 300 items to a charity store in his hometown of Framlingham, England. According to The Sun, the 28-year-old singer gave away various items — guitars, stuffed animals, a signed surfboard, a signed David Beckham football shirt, personalized ketchup, and a whole lot more — out of the goodness of his heart to the St Elizabeth Hospice charity shop.
Given his substantial donation, the store placed Ed's memorabilia in its window and even put various Ed-inspired displays outside, including a life-sized cardboard cut-out of the "South of The Border" singer.

Fans have already started to flock to the store to get their hands on some of the singer's donated items. They've also been making the most of Ed' cardboard cut-out, taking photos beside it.
Ed is currently gearing up for the last leg of his "Divide Tour," which kicks off on Friday (August 16) in Leeds, England.
Earlier this week, the "Way To Break My Heart" singer shared a photo of himself in Iceland, following his first of two shows in Reykjavík, being picked up by Hafþór Björnsson, who played The Mountain on Game of Thrones. "When in Iceland @thorbjornsson," Ed captioned the hilarious post.

Hafþór also posted a video of him lifting Ed with ease. "He asked for it," the strongman wrote. "Luckily I didn’t drop him... He has to work tonight!! 🤪 @teddysphotos."

Newly Released Video Captures Moments Leading Up to 8-hour Standoff That Wounds 6 Philly Officers
New video captures the frightening moments leading up to the standoff that left six officers injured by gunfire.
The video was captured on a neighbor’s surveillance camera. In the video, you can hear gunshots ringing out repeatedly, as people walking on the street are puzzled by what is happening.
Towards the end of the video, an officer can be seen tumbling out the front door of the house as another officer dashes to his side, to help move him away from the active gunfire.
36-year old Maurice Hill, who is accused of shooting six Philadelphia police officers in a standoff that lasted almost eight hours, surrendered to police.

Neighbors nearby said, “It was like a war – like a scene that you see in war,” according to NBC 10 #Philadelphia. Gunfire broke out Wednesday afternoon after police tried to serve an arrest warrant to a home in the Nicetown-Tioga neighborhood, according to officials.

As officers rushed upstairs, a gunman was reportedly waiting downstairs with an AK-47 and fired off several rounds through the ceiling of the home. Police returned fire while some officers escaped through windows and doors, according to NBC 10. Unfortunately, not all officers escaped, some got trapped in the house with the gunman after he barricaded himself.
Authorities had to use tear gas to get the suspect out of the house, the police chief said. Six officers were injured by the time the exchange of bullets to and from the home ended.

Authorities say that Hill was not injured in the shootout. However, he was taken to Temple University Hospital for evaluation and was later released, as officers escorted him out around 3 a.m.
In a press conference early Thursday, Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross Jr. said the suspect had prior arrests, but his office is not discussing the details of the charges at this time.

None of the officers reportedly suffered life-threatening injuries, Ross said, adding that a bullet grazed the head of one police officer. A seventh officer, who was injured in a car crash while responding to the scene, remains in the hospital and that officer’s condition is unknown at this time.
