#RHOA: Porsha Williams’ Ex-Fiance Dennis McKinley Says He Was Racially profiled Handcuffed, Accused of Stealing Sandwich
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams’ ex-fiancé Dennis McKinley says he was handcuffed by police on Friday, July 26, and accused of stealing a sandwich. The incident happened at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, where the entrepreneur went for a routine doctor’s appointment.

In an Instagram post showing him sitting in a restaurant with his arms cuffed behind his back as he talks to a female police officer, McKinley, 38, wrote that he was “accosted by a super aggressive” cop “who racially profiled me and falsely accused me of stealing a $4 sandwich. I had a receipt which could have easily ended her inquiry. There was a cashier that could have easily verified that I paid for everything I had. There were a number of easy resolutions that could have deescalated the unnecessary racial profiling and my detention by this officer.”

The video, shot by an onlooker, shows the pair in a heated discussion as the officer tells him that he “escalated” the situation, while photos reveal the marks on McKinley’s arms and his receipt from the cafe.
McKinley, who is the father of Williams’ daughter Pilar, 4 months, claims that the officer “chose aggression over common sense. She put her hands on her weapon, she put her hands on me, she publicly humiliated me, falsely and wrongfully accused me of stealing a sandwich and placed me in handcuffs so tight that she caused injuries to both of my wrists.”

Yesterday I was accosted by a super aggressive Emory police officer #BethWalsh badge #215 who racially profiled me and falsely accused me of stealing a $4 sandwich. I had a receipt which could have easily ended her inquiry. There was a cashier that could have easily verified that I paid for everything I had. There were a number of easy resolutions that could have deescalated the unnecessary racial profiling and my detention by this officer. Instead, this Emory police officer chose to abuse her power. She chose aggression over common sense. She put her hands on her weapon, she put her hands on me, she publicly humiliated me, falsely and wrongfully accused me of stealing a sandwich and placed me in handcuffs so tight that she caused injuries to both of my wrists. I was profiled. She was wrong. No apology. Just more vitriol - she blamed me for the entire situation. It was disgusting. I could have been the next hashtag because she was that aggressive. I went to see my doctor for a routine dr visit at @emoryhealthcare Emory hospital. Stopped to grab a sandwich. And this is what happened. It happens to us everywhere, at any time, for any reason. I can’t let this go. This is not ok. I’ve retained counsel @miketsterling and @dreyer_sterling_llc. Now, we can add going to the doctor or buying a sandwhich while black to the list of things we cannot do. @emoryuniversity @emoryhealthcare @emorypolice #goingtothedoctorwhileblack #buyingasandwhichwhileblack #racialprofiling #sallysandwich

Writing that he was racially “profiled,” the Detroit native said that the officer didn’t offer an apology, “just more vitriol — she blamed me for the entire situation. It was disgusting. I could have been the next hashtag because she was that aggressive.” The businessman, who split with Williams, 38, in June after one year together, added, “It happens to us everywhere, at any time, for any reason. I can’t let this go…. Now, we can add going to the doctor or buying a sandwich while black to the list of things we cannot do.”

He has hired lawyer Mike Sterling, who is married to RHOA’s Eva Marcille, to represent him. Sterling commented on McKinley’s post, writing, “If no one objects or fights back, the wrongs will last forever.”
The Emory Police Department said in a statement that “an Emory Police Department officer detained an individual suspected of not paying for an item. Once the officer learned the individual had purchased it, he was released.”

McKinley’s rep gave the following statement: “Emory’s response is clearly the response of privilege. The privilege of someone completely out of touch with the reality of what that harrowing experience was like for Dennis. It is a response that does not recognize the pain and anguish of being profiled, despite your personal accomplishments and standing in society; they don’t understand what it’s like to be viewed as a criminal for no reason at all, except how you look; they don’t understand what it’s like to falsely accused of something you did not do; publicly humiliated for no reason at all; handcuffed like a criminal; detained without provocation; and completely frightened to death that you could be shot by an overly aggressive police officer over a $4 sandwich. Are you kidding me, Emory. This type of indifference by Emory just made the experience all the more painful. This is shameful.”

#Empire: This Woman is accused of stealing the identity of Taraji P. Henson
A pregnant mother of six trembled throughout a court hearing Sunday as prosecutors accused her of stealing the identities of several people, including a star of the Fox television show “Empire,” and collecting thousands of dollars in merchandise mailed to dummy addresses.

Alicia Newby quietly sobbed next to her court-appointed attorney at the Leighton Criminal Court Building, charged with a single felony count of continuing a financial crime enterprise. Newby, 29, was ordered released on a $10,000 signature bail and electronic monitoring, but was forbidden from contacting victims or witnesses.
During the hearing before Judge Charles S. Beach II, prosecutors didn’t name either of Newby’s alleged victims, but police and court records list actress Taraji P. Henson, 48, as one of them. A representative for the Oscar- and Emmy-nominated actress who stars in the hip-hop drama that films in Chicago couldn’t be reached for comment Sunday afternoon.

An investigation by police and the Cook County state’s attorney’s financial crime unit found “multiple other victims” but only mentioned two during Sunday’s hearing. Prosecutors calculated that Newby’s scheme totaled more than $12,000 in fraudulent transactions, though more than $4,000 was canceled after Henson’s manager discovered the fraud last August.

Authorities did not say how Newby and Henson knew one another, but a police source said investigators were also looking into whether any other cast members of “Empire” may have been victims.
A key to Newby’s success was compromising Henson’s email, prosecutors said.
“Once this was done, the defendant then raided the account for a variety of information," including phone numbers, addresses, financial accounts and telephone numbers that she could then use to purchase items online, Assistant State’s Attorney James Costello told the court.

In addition to defrauding Henson, Newby also defrauded JP Morgan Chase, American Express and PayPal and multiple other merchants in her scheme, according to charging documents.
Newby was arrested early Saturday as police served a search warrant at her Galewood neighborhood apartment in the 6200 block of West Wabansia Avenue following a nearly yearlong investigation. During the search, authorities recovered items they believe were purchased in the scheme and were awaiting the results of a forensic analysis of several electronic devices that were seized.

In court, prosecutors told the judge how Henson’s team contacted Chicago police after the actress’ manager noticed fraudulent charges appearing on several of her accounts. The manager also noticed the items were being shipped to two South Side addresses under names they didn’t recognize, prosecutors said. Investigators learned that Newby had utilities in her name mailed to both addresses and that she obtained a lease at one of the addresses allegedly using a second victim’s identity, Costello said.

Last September, a U.S. Postal Service letter carrier refused to deliver packages to one of the addresses, believing it was being used in an ID theft scam, but was allegedly “assaulted” by Newby, demanding that she deliver the packages, prosecutors said. Police officers called to the scene captured the woman’s demands on body-worn camera. But Newby later received the packages after she caused a scene at the local post office, Costello said.

Authorities lost track of Newby in December after she cleared out of an apartment, leaving behind thousands of dollars in damages and about $4,000 in unpaid rent. She resurfaced earlier this year when she pawned a designer purse using her real state identification card, Costello said. The pawnbroker and three postal employees identified Newby by photo.

Prior to Newby’s arrest, authorities obtained records from social media and email accounts, phone companies and financial institutions that allegedly point to Newby as the person behind the fraudulent purchases.
Newby’s attorney asked for a reasonable bond, noting that the crime didn’t involve violence, she is the mother of six children and is two months pregnant and has bipolar disorder. Two young men who attended the hearing on Newby’s behalf declined to speak after the hearing.

The judge approved a prosecution request to bar Newby from using the internet while the case is pending.

She is expected to return to court next week.

#HipHopNews: Nicki Minaj Gives Megan Thee Stallion Game On Crafting Debut Album
Megan Thee Stallion got some advice while chopping it up with Nicki Minaj on Instagram Live. After Megan revealed she just began working on her debut album, Nicki shared her insight to help with the creative process.

“Don’t overthink it and don’t beat yourself up,” she told the rising star. “Because let me tell you something — all the times when I be working on albums, I be stressing myself the fuck out. And then when I don’t, when I just kinda let my hair down, so to speak, with freestyles and stuff, that’s what they love.”
Megan related to this, confirming she also receives lots of positive feedback for her freestyles. Nicki then gave the Hot Girl Summer leader a few things to consider.

“It’s because we’re schoolgirls in our brain and we write, so automatically we treat it like work,” the Black Barbie stated. “And I find that when I treat it like fun and playtime, I get better results. So, it’s just weird. So, I would give you that as a suggestion. Just feed off of that energy. All that good energy that you’re getting, put it into that ’cause it’s almost like the world can dictate it for you. They’ll dictate your album or your songs for you.”

Megan is coming off the release of her Fever mixtape, which dropped in May via 300 Entertainment. Nicki has teased her fifth studio LP this year but hasn’t announced any details about the album.

Ariana Grande issues statement on photographer Marcus Hyde’s alleged misconduct
Marcus Hyde, a celebrity photographer who has worked with Ariana Grande, was accused of misconduct this week by a Los Angeles-based model named Sunnaya. In DM screenshots posted to her Instagram account (the platform has since deleted her posts), Sunnaya and Hyde discuss the terms of a photoshoot — Hyde says he will shoot for free if Sunnaya provides him with nude photos and does a nude photoshoot. Otherwise, Hyde says, he charges $2,000 for a clothed photography session.

On Monday, Grande shared her reaction to the accusations in her Instagram Story. "Dear models/artists in LA/anywhere," she writes, "please do not shoot with photographers who make you uncomfortable or make you feel like you need to take off our clothing off if you don’t want to. If you want to, sick. But if you don’t, please don’t. If they tell you you have to pay more money if you’re clothed that’s fucked and I’m sorry that has happened to you."

New 'American Horror Story: 1984' Promos Highlight Slasher Season's Masked Murderer
Everyone's favorite anthology series is headed to summer camp -- and, if these new promos are any indication, these counselors are doomed!
Taking a few cues from "Friday the 13th," the upcoming season of "American Horror Story: 1984" heads to Camp Redwood. Unfortunately for its employees, a knife-wielding psychopath will also be joining them in the woods and he's not there to sing "Kumbaya."

"Welcome to Camp Redwood. Good luck leaving alive," FX wrote alongside a new pair of promos for the series on Monday. Though the footage does not appear to be from the show itself, it still gives us a pretty good feel for the vibe of the new '80s-set season.
In the first clip, a truck full of teens make their way to their summer home, passing a sign that says "Beware" written in red on the back. As they get closer to the campgrounds, the masked murderer pops out from under the moving vehicle, ready for his kill.

In the second clip (which plays right after the first), a bathing beauty in a canoe gets the shock of her life as the killer leaps out of the water, knife in hand.
Among the potential victims for the slasher-inspired season: Returning stars Emma Roberts, Leslie Grossman, Cody Fern, John Carol Lynch and Billie Lourd -- as well as Olympian Gus Kenworthy, "Glee" star Matthew Morrison, "Pose" alum Angelica Ross, DeRon Horton and Zach Villa.

Neither Sarah Paulson or Evan Peters appear in an earlier video announcing the cast. Peters previously noted he'd "sit a season out," while it's been reported Paulson won't be returning as well.

"American Horror Story: 1984" will premiere September 18, 2019.

Lil Nas X’s ‘Old Town Road’ Breaks Billboard Record For The Longest No.1 In History
Lil Nas X is riding his horse right into the history books with “Old Town Road,” breaking the record for the longest-running streak at the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The genre-defying summer smash has dominated the Hot 100 chart for its 17th consecutive week, surpassing previous record-holders “Despacito” by Daddy Yankee, Luis Fonsi, and Justin Bieber, and 1995’s “One Sweet Day” by Boyz II Men and Mariah Carey, which both topped out at 16 weeks.
The 20-year-old rapper, who’s blocked competition like Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish from securing the top spot in recent months, seemed all but certain that he’d reign once again, writing on Twitter last week, “what we doing to celebrate the billboard record when we break it y’all.” He also thanked anyone who streamed the song since its release.
The rapper expanded on his feelings in a heartfelt and emoji-laden Twitter post about just how far he’s come since making the song as a “struggling artist” living in his sister’s house.
“This song has changed my life and the way I see the world around me in less than a year,” he wrote. “Thank you to every single person who has been a part of this journey. As I said before, it’s just the beginning.”
Remixes have been integral to the country-trap single’s success, as Billboard calculates remixes and the original versions of the track together in a single listing on the chart, as long as they meet specific guidelines.

First launching on the social video-sharing app TikTok in 2018, “Old Town Road” has since been officially remixed four separate times with artists like Billy Ray Cyrus, Diplo, Young Thug and Mason Ramsey and most recently the Korean pop group BTS putting their own spin on the single.
The Atlanta-based rapper’s victory is all the more noteworthy given he was banished from the Hot Country Songs chart in late March for not embracing “enough elements of today’s country music.” The song’s removal jumpstarted conversations about gatekeeping in the country music industry and the erasure of black artists’ contributions to the genre.

“I had this idea in mind at first, but then as I went on to think about it, I was like, Maybe because [the] country [music industry] is guarded,” the rapper told Teen Vogue about the controversy. “You can have your country song with trap elements, but if it’s by known country artists, then it’s allowed. A black guy who raps comes along, and he’s on top of the country chart, it’s like, ‘What the fuck?’”

As for what he’ll do to mark the occasion, the rapper joked that he’s already got some big plans.
“Instead of doing my usual crying in the bathtub for five hours, I’ll cut it down to three,” he joked to TMZ, adding that he also “may buy Mariah Carey some roses and send them to her, cause I love her.”

Wendy Williams says she was date raped by A very popular musician
Wendy Williams will reportedly reveal unknown details about her life in an upcoming biopic set to premiere on Lifetime.

Although her career was taking off in that period, she developed a cocaine habit that she has battled for decades. The film will also provide details of a never-before-told story about a rape.

Apparently, Williams was on a date with a chart-topping musician and was raped. The musician will be revealed in the film.
It will also show her recent issues with marriage and divorce from longtime husband and business manager Kevin Hunter.

Tentatively titled “Just Wendy,” the movie will be directed by Will Packer and premiere on Lifetime in 2020.

Neil de Grasse Tyson Will Remain Hayden Planetarium Director After Sex Misconduct Investigation Ends
Neil deGrasse Tyson will stay as director of New York’s Hayden Planetarium after the organization’s investigation into two womens’ sexual misconduct claims ended.
Tyson “remains an employee and director of the Hayden Planetarium,” said a statement from the American Museum of Natural History. The planetarium is part of the American Museum of Natural History.

The apparent exoneration of Tyson follows other misconduct accusations against the famous astrophysicist/TV personality last November. Those complaints prompted Fox, Nat Geo and the series producers to launch a probe.
While it was ongoing, Fox and Nat Geo put on hold the Season 2 premiere of science docuseries Cosmos, originally slated for March 3, 2019. Meanwhile, Nat Geo pulled its Tyson-hosted StarTalk off the air after the new allegations surfaced.

In the Hayden Planetarium case, two women accused Tyson of sexual misconduct in an article that appeared last November. One, a Bucknell University professor, alleged Tyson examined her solar system tattoo and then “followed the tattoo into” her dress. In a separate incident, a former assistant on his Cosmos show claimed he made uncomfortable sexual advances.

Cosmos and StarTalk returned to Fox and National Geographic’s lineups after their investigations.

Tituss Burgess Calls Andy Cohen a 'Messy Queen' After Appearing on 'WWHL'
Tituss Burgess appeared on the latest episode of Andy Cohen‘s talk show Watch What Happens Live and he’s making it clear that he’s not a fan.
The 40-year-old Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt actor seemed uncomfortable with a question that Andy asked about working with Eddie Murphy.

“Did you get to chat with him at all?” Andy asked. “I just wonder if you got close at all because he was very problematic for the gays, at one point, when I was coming out.”
“Ah, I see. He wasn’t problematic for Tituss,” the actor replied. “We had a wonderful time. We talked about Dreamgirls — he should have won the Oscar, I believe. So, he was great. Any troubles he had with gay people, I guess are gone because he loved me.”

In a comment on his Instagram page the next day, Tituss ripped Andy and called him a “messy queen” who should “learn how to do his job.”
“She can be a messy queen! Yes I said it! Don’t care he knows either! He should remember his talk show isn’t an episode of the real housewives of Atlanta! It’s a place where artists come to talk about art and have a little fun. NOT a place to rehash old rumors or bring a star negative press,” Tituss said.
“Sunday was a display of ratchet behavior by a well connected man having blatant disregard for one of his guests,” he continued. “If only time were taken to know who I am and not assuming that I am the character I play on tv he would know how to conduct a proper interview with at all! I received 4 Emmy nominations for acting! NOT for being my self. He was lucky I had my wits and Christian values THAT day. Always keep it classy. Being friends with other talented celebrities doesn’t make you talented it makes you friends with other famous celebrities! He should rip a page from Anderson Cooper and learn how to do his job.”
“Ah, I see. He wasn’t problematic for Tituss,” the actor replied. “We had a wonderful time. We talked about Dreamgirls — he should have won the Oscar, I believe. So, he was great. Any troubles he had with gay people, I guess are gone because he loved me.”

Tragic 3 killed in garlic festival shooting, including 6-year-old. Authorities named Santino William Legan the killer!
GILROY, Calif. (AP) — A 6-year-old boy described by his grandmother as always kind and happy was one of three people killed and at least 15 others injured when a gunman heard to be “really angry” opened fire during the closing moments of a popular weekend garlic festival in Northern California.

Gilroy Police Chief Scot Smithee said the gunman was armed with a rifle and sneaked in through a fence that borders a parking lot next to a creek. He appeared to randomly target people when he opened fire just after 5:30 p.m. Sunday, the conclusion of the three-day festival that attracts more than 100,000 people to the city known as the “Garlic Capital of the World.”
Police responded within a minute and killed the suspect, Smithee said.

Some witnesses reported a second suspect, Smithee said, but it was unclear whether that person was armed or simply provided assistance. A manhunt continued late into the night.
A 6-year-old boy was one among those killed, his father said. “My son had his whole life to live and he was only 6,” Alberto Romero, the father of Stephen Romero told NBC Bay Area. “That’s all I can say.”

The boy’s grandmother, Maribel Romero, told ABC7 News she searched several hospitals before learning he had died. She said he was “always kind, happy and, you know, playful.”
A gunman cut through a fence to avoid security and opened fire at Northern California's popular Gilroy Garlic Festival, killing three and wounding at least 15 before police fatally shot him as terrified people and performers ran, officials said. (July 29)
The wounded were taken to multiple hospitals, and their conditions ranged from fair to critical, with some in surgery Sunday night. At least five were treated and released.
The Gilroy Garlic Festival features food, cooking contests and music. It’s a decades-old staple in the agricultural city of 50,000 about 80 miles (176 kilometers) southeast of San Francisco. Security is tight — festival-goers pass through metal detectors and their bags are searched.

On Sunday, the band TinMan was starting an encore when the shooting started. Singer Jack van Breen said he saw a man wearing a green shirt and grayish handkerchief around his neck fire into the food area with what looked like an assault rifle. He and other members of the band dove under the stage.

Van Breen, from nearby Santa Clara, said he heard someone shout: “Why are you doing this?” and the reply: “Because I’m really angry.”
The audience began screaming and running, and the five members of the band and others dove under the stage.

Authorities say Santino William Legan was the killer. He used a rifle he legally purchased three weeks ago in Nevada.
What officials say about the shooter
The shooter had an assault-style rifle and appeared to shoot at random, Smithee said. The SKS, an "AK-47-type" rifle, was purchased legally in Nevada on July 9, he said, adding that his understanding is that Legan purchased the weapon himself.
It is believed that Legan, though originally from Gilroy, had been living with family members in Nevada, Smithee said, adding that he does not know how long Legan had been back in California.
The FBI searched a residence in Walker Lake, located in Mineral County, Nevada, "believed to have been used by" Legan in the days prior to the incident, according to Mineral County District Attorney Sean Rowe.

Police believe the suspect cut through a fence near the creek with a tool to enter onto the event grounds in Gilroy, which is about 30 miles south of San Jose. There were no security cameras at the festival, according to Smithee.
The FBI Evidence Response Team from San Francisco has arrived and is currently processing the scene at the festival, according to the official source. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is also there, along with various state and local police and fire departments, though no further information is available.

Instagram posts hours before attack
An Instagram account, which was created four days ago under the suspect's name, posted two messages shortly before the attack began.
One included a photograph of people walking around the Garlic Festival with the words "Ayyy garlic festival time Come get wasted on overpriced sh**."
The other, which included a photo of Smokey the Bear and a sign saying "Fire Danger High Today," stated: "Read Might is Right by Ragnar Redbeard. Why overcrowd towns and pave more open space to make room for hordes of mestizos and Silicon Valley white tw**s?"
A mestizo is a person of mixed descent, commonly white and Hispanic or white and American Indian.
"Might is Right," first published in the late 1800s, has been described as a white supremacist text that promotes anarchy while vilifying Christianity. The book calls Jesus the "true Prince of Evil" and says that the natural order is a world at war in which the strong must vanquish the weak and white men must rule over those of color.

Boston Red Sox Player David Ortiz Released From Hospital After Being  Shot In Back

“David Ortiz was released from the hospital yesterday, a source close to the family.”
