Michelle Obama on the January 2019 Cover of Good Housekeeping Magazine
Michelle Obama is currently on the promo trail to for her new book 'Becoming' and she is another magazine cover for January 2019, Good Housekeeping. On the cover which was shot by Miller Mobley, Michelle is wearing a grey off-the-shoulder piece. In the issue in which she was interviewed by Oprah, she talks 'Becoming', her new life after the White House and so much more.

On why she named her book 'Becoming':
We actually had a blooper list of titles that we won’t go into. But Becoming just summed it all up. A question that adults ask kids — I think it’s the worst question in the world — is “What do you want to be when you grow up?” As if growing is finite. As if you become something and that is all there is.

On what age she felt grown up:
And I don’t know what the next step will be. I tell young people that all the time. You know, all young women probably have some magic number of what age you’ll be when you feel like a grown-up. Generally, when you think your mother will stop telling you what to do. [Laughs]. But the truth is, for me, each decade has offered something amazing that I would have never imagined. And if I had stopped looking, I would have missed out on so much. So I’m still becoming, and this is the story of my journey. Hopefully, it will spark conversations, especially among young people, about their journeys.
On if writing about her private life scary:
Actually no, because here’s the thing that I realized: People always ask me, 'Why is it that you’re so authentic?' 'How is it that people connect to you?' — and I think it starts because I like me. [Laughs]. I like my story and all the bumps and bruises. I think that’s what makes me uniquely me. So I’ve always been open with my staff, with young people, with my friends. And the other thing, Oprah: I know that whether we like it or not, Barack and I are role models.

#RHoA: Porsha Williams Doesn't Care If Her Fiancé Has Tattoos of Other Women's Names: She said 'It's the Past!' Get Over It!
Porsha Williams is looking forward to the future with fiancé Dennis McKinley, and not backward at his past.

The mom-to-be, who is pregnant with her first child with McKinley, has been the subject of gossip this season on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, as fellow Housewife Kandi Burruss spread rumors suggesting McKinley might be a bit of a player. Fueling Burruss’ claims? News that McKinley had gifted Williams a Rolex watch and gotten her named tattooed on his body — two things Burruss learned he allegedly had done with previous women.

Actually, Burruss thinks McKinely went further with one of his exes. On the Bravo franchise, she claimed he had gotten a picture of a previous girlfriend’s face inked on him.
So how does Williams feel about it all? “I don’t care at all”. “Everybody has a past. I’m 37 years old. Are you kidding? Who hasn’t dated other people before? Of course he’s going to have exes. But that’s just who they are, exes! It’s the past. Whatever happened before Porsha doesn’t matter to me at all.”

“Dennis has millions of tattoos. And know, I haven’t seen any names or faces of any other women on his body besides his grandmother and his mother,” she adds. “But if he had one across his face, as long as he had it covered by the time we got together, I don’t care. And if he gave 100 watches to people, good for him. It doesn’t make mine less special. He’s a generous man. You should want to be with someone who is generous!”

While Williams isn’t bothered by McKinely’s behavior, she does have some issues with the way Burruss brought things up.
“Normally when I see stuff on the show, it doesn’t bother me – I’m pretty unfazed. But I’m pregnant so it kind of was like, ‘Damn, let me live,’ ” Williams says. “I haven’t always had the best luck at relationships. And when you haven’t always had the best luck at relationships, you then pray for a better relationship. You pray for someone who is going to treat you as you deserve. I finally got someone who treats me the way I need to be treated. Even though he’s not perfect, I’m not perfect, he’s the best thing for me. So for me, it’s just difficult for me to see someone talking s—. I just thought it was petty.”

Williams had a chance to address things with Burruss directly on Sunday’s RHOA.
“Dennis doesn’t like anything messy and Dennis doesn’t know you. So when someone is talking about something as private as a tattoo and whatever he does with his exes, am I supposed to take it as a good thing?” she asked her friend. “The way it went around in a circle before it got to us is what looks messy about it to him.”

“I didn’t even think it was conversation worthy, really. I’m happy about him. I was excited he got the tattoo [of my name]. If there is anything about him before I met him, I could care less,’ Williams continued. “He has been single for all the time. He falls hard, he may get a tattoo. I joke about it. He’s got so many damn tattoos, there may be a name I’m looking at every day.”
She added: “You think it’s so serious, but I’m really secure where we are. We’re in a committed relationship. Let me be happy.”
In fact, she decided to get a matching tattoo with her man.

The ink is a picture of a cross, a heart and a dollar sign, which Williams described on RHOA as symbols for “spirituality, family, and prosperity.”
“He loves me. He got his name tattooed. And then I in turn got his name tattooed,” she said. “I matched his tattoo behind his ear. He was laying in sleep one day and I was just boiling over with love. I was like, ‘I love you!’ And I was like, “I want to do something and show you I love you.” And I said I want to get some groceries from the grocery store and came out with a matching tattoo. Some things, you just can’t help yourself.”

“I’m glowing,” she continued. “We’re all the way out there… When I was married to my ex-husband, I was in a controlling situation. But with Dennis, I am Porsha 2.0. He loves every bit of who I am.”
Williams and McKinley got engaged in October and are expecting a daughter. “My heart is SO full!” she wrote on Instagram in late October, after her sex reveal party.

While nothing is settled yet, Williams said that she and McKinley had already been talking about names before learning the baby’s sex.
“One of the names that we got rid of that he liked was Napoleon. [I was like], ‘I don’t know about that one for a boy!’ ” she said. “One of the names that he has absolutely settled on — I’m not settled on it yet — is PJ. PJ stands for Porsha Jr. He wants to name our daughter Porsha Jr.”

The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs Sundays (8 p.m. ET) on Bravo.

#Empire: Fall Finale Sneak Peek: Will Jamal and Kai Split Over?
Kai’s pesky journalistic ethics is putting a crimp in his personal life. As revealed in Wednesday’s Empire fall finale (8/7c, Fox), Jamal’s fiancé — in the course of investigating Empire’s dirty dealings for a big expose — uncovers an avalanche of dirt on Lucious. The discovery, naturally, puts the soon-to-be-wedded duo at a bit of a crisis point, with Jamal essentially asking his betrothed to kill the story.

“My family certainly doesn’t need the noise right now,” Jamal points out to Kai in the above clip, before adding, pointedly, “It’s not like you can run it.” Oh, but he can. And he probably will. “So you’re asking me to choose between what’s right and… what’s right for your family?” Kai zings back.

WATCH HERE as the couple navigate this latest, potentially relationship-ending rough patch, and then hit the comments with answers to these two questions: Are you digging Jamal/Kai? And who do you think is in the coffin? (Psst: Wednesday’s episode will allegedly shed additional light on the latter

Harvey Weinstein Is Working on Settlement of Rape Lawsuit
Harvey Weinstein is in private talks to settle a lawsuit filed by a woman who claims she was raped at Cannes in 2006, despite his claims her allegations were false.
On December 4, court documents were filed by Weinstein and a woman — who sued using the pseudonym Emma Loman — revealing the two are in talks to settle her lawsuit against the disgraced movie producer.

Weinstein is requesting “an adjournment of proceedings in this action due to ongoing settlement discussions” and says it “is in the interest of the parties to this litigation and their undersigned counsel.”

They explain they will return to court if they fail to resolve the matter privately.
As first reported, Loman claimed she met Weinstein in 2004 and they exchanged contact information. She claimed they didn’t speak again until 2006, when he reached out to say he was “impressed” with her as an actress and invited her to Cannes.
Loman claimed she was hesitant to accept his invitation but claims “Weinstein had his assistant call her repeatedly, up to 30 times a day, and told her that it would be important for him and TWC that she attend the Festival as his guest so that they could discuss her acting career.”

Once at the festival, Loman claimed Weinstein provided her “with professional advice and support, gradually gaining her trust.” She says she then agreed to a meeting at Weinstein’s “office,” which turned out to be his hotel suite.
Loman claims, “Upon arriving at Weinstein’s suite, however, Weinstein quickly dropped his professional demeanor. He instead overpowered Loman and raped her.”
In her lawsuit, Loman claimed that during the alleged rape, “Weinstein bragged that he had recently received a negative result from an HIV test.”

According to Loman, after the alleged rape, Harvey Weinstein “told her that he would follow up with a call, and although Loman wanted to make clear to Weinstein again that he had just severely violated her, he quickly made her leave his suite, citing his busy schedule.”
Loman claimed she later met with Weinstein a second time (it’s unclear where and when) at his hotel suite. She says Weinstein promised they would not be alone and she “wanted an explanation and an apology from Weinstein.”
“She also believed that, knowing the risks, she would be able to escape the situation if Weinstein attempted to rape her a second time,” the lawsuit reads.
Once she got there, Loman claimed another woman was in the room and Weinstein “indicated that he wanted a threesome with Loman and the other woman.” She says she tried to leave but Weinstein said “that his security guards would not allow her to leave, and that even if they did, she could not enter his elevator without its key.”

“Loman, fearing another rape, began to shout and cry,” the lawsuit claimed.

In an effort to claim her down, Loman claims Harvey Weinstein “began crying himself. He begged her to calm down, told her (for the first time) that he was engaged, and said that journalists were waiting downstairs who would ruin his marriage and career if they saw a distraught woman who had come from his suite.”
Eventually, Loman says she was allowed to leave.
Loman claims she remained silent for years because she thought “no one would believe her” and she feared “potential retaliation from such a powerful figure.” The deluge of claims against Weinstein prompted her to come forward now, she says.

She sued suing for assault, battery, false imprisonment and violation of human trafficking laws.
Loman is seeking damages in excess of $75,000.
Phyllis Kupferstein, an attorney for Harvey Weinstein, told The Blast when the lawsuit was filed, “This lawsuit is an attempt to continue the legal barrage and public attention on Mr. Weinstein. The allegations are untrue and the claims are barred by the statute of limitations. We intend to immediately move to dismiss the complaint.”

#STOCKMARKET The Dow falls 800 pts. as stock rally fizzles amid growth worries, skepticism over trade truce
The Dow fell nearly 800 points Tuesday as investors worried about a bond-market phenomenon signaling a possible economic slowdown. Lingering worries around U.S.-China trade also sent jitters down Wall Street.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined closed down 799.36 points, or 3.1 percent, to 25,027, led by losses in Apple. Shares of Apple dropped 4.4 percent after HSBC downgraded the company's stock to hold from buy as it faces "the reality of market saturation." The S&P 500 declined 3.2 percent as the financials sector lagged. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 3.8 percent.

The yield on both the two-year and the three-year Treasury notes surpassed its five-year counterpart on Monday. When a so-called yield curve inversion happens — short-term yields trading above longer-term rates — a recession could follow, though it is often years away after the signal triggers.
Jeffrey Gundlach, CEO of Doubleline Capital, told Reuters this inversion signals that the economy "is poised to weaken."

"No good deed goes unpunished," said Art Hogan, chief market strategist at B. Riley FBR. "As we get headwinds from trade worries fading, you get an inverted yield curve and another brick added to the market's wall of worry."
Further fears of an economic slowdown were stoked by weaker-than-expected quarterly guidance from homebuilder Toll Brothers. The company issued its forecast for the first quarter. Toll Brothers also pointed to negative reports about the housing market as the cause for the slowdown. New home sales have fallen for 11 straight months.

Doubt about a permanent deal between the U.S. and China crept into investors' minds following a stellar rally in the previous session.
The U.S. and China agreed over the weekend to hold off on any additional tariffs on each other's goods on January 1, in order to allow trade talks to continue. Leaders from the two countries met over dinner at the G-20 summit in Argentina. The news sent stocks surging on Monday, with the Dow rallying more than 300 points.

But discrepancies over when that truce would begin has led to confusion. While President Donald Trump's economic advisor, Larry Kudlow, told reporters Monday that the cease-fire would start from January 1, the White House later issued a corrected statement saying that the 90-day truce period would start on December 1.
"Bottom line, yesterday's price action further confirmed that while clearly there has been some important macro clarity provided, we need to see more before we can expect the S&P 500 to make a serious challenge to the old highs," said Tom Essaye, founder of The Sevens Report.
China and the U.S. have been engaged in a tense sparring match over trade, with both countries hitting each other's economies with levies on imported goods. Trump's administration has so far slapped tariffs on $250 billion worth of Chinese imports, while Chinese President Xi Jinping's government has imposed tariffs on $110 billion in U.S. goods.

Trump said in a series of tweets Tuesday that a deal between the two countries would get done if possible. "But if [it's] not possible remember ... I am a Tariff man."

Did Madonna Shade Lady Gaga For Copying Her Catchphrase?
Are the two divas feuding once again? It certainly seems so after Madonna seemingly shaded Lady Gaga on social media, accusing her of having copied one of her catchphrases from back in the ‘80s!
It all started with Gaga’s press tours for her potentially Oscar-winning movie, A Star Is Born, and during her meetings with the press, she used one expression repeatedly.
A visibly emotional Gaga told the media about her unexpected success as an actress, using the following quote several times during her tour.

‘There can be a hundred people in a room, and 99 of them do not believe in you, but all it takes is just one, and it just changes your whole life,’ she has been saying about her co-star and the film’s director, Bradley Cooper.
Obviously, the message is very powerful and touching, but some fans pointed out that it was not Gaga who coined it and that maybe she should credit Madonna for it!

That being said, one clip of Madonna saying almost the same thing decades prior has surfaced online.
The video was apparently first posted by Giovanni Bianco, the creative director of Vogue Italia, with the caption: ‘My girl does and says everything always first.’
You may be asking where Madonna’s reaction comes into place! Well, the star did not exactly bash Lady Gaga, but she did repost the original video without a caption and added an enlarged eyes emoji!

The shade is real with this one! Especially, since she also shared a pic of herself captioned: ‘Don’t F**k with Me Monday,’ which started an entire fan war between Madonna and Gaga’s supporters in the comment section.
