#RHoA: OOOPS! Kandi got READ FOR FILTH from Black Twitter following her embarrassing sing-off against Sharmari DeVoe!
In order to stay safe from the rain while on vacation in Florida, The Real Housewives of Atlanta found themselves staying indoors and organizing a friendly competition.

The housewives battled it out for who has the best fashion sense between Marlo Hampton and Tanya Sam, and the best runway walk between Eva Marcille and Cynthia Bailey. However, the most entertaining competition was the singing competition between Atlanta’s newest housewife, Shamari DeVoe and veteran housewife Kandi Burruss.

Both ladies come from a music background. DeVoe was once the lead singer of the R&B girl group Blaque in the late ’90s, while Burruss comes from the R&B vocal quartet Xscape. However, while DeVoe took the ladies to church with her soulful performance of “His Eye Is on the Sparrow,” Burruss went off on her own little riff and let’s just say the vote for DeVoe was unanimous.
However, while Burruss may be getting the heat from Twitter, it was DeVoe who was getting the heat from fellow housewife Hampton, when the truth came out at dinner later that night. “You only won because you sung a religious song. OK, sweetheart? Your voice is awful,” Hampton told DeVoe, who clapped back, “I done sold over 5 million records, honey. You can Google me back to the 19’s, honey. I was a A-list when you was alias.” Burn!

#HipHopNews: Offset Hints At Solo Album Dropping Soon
It looks like Offset's debut album could be here sooner than we thought. Using his Instagram account late yesterday (Dec. 25), the Migos rapper posted a photo with a caption that hinted at a drop in the very near future.
"C O M E O N N O W," Offset wrote. "Y O U K N O W I M B O U T T O D R O P M Y A L B U M."

Offset will be the last of the trio to release a debut solo effort. Quavo dropped off his Quavo Huncho LP in October and Takeoff unloaded his The Last Rocket album at the top of November. It was initially reported that Offset would drop his solo LP on Dec. 14, which is his birthday. After his wife Cardi B broke up with him, though, that didn't happen. It's unknown whether the break-up had anything to do with the delay of the album, though.

While 'Set has yet to drop a single from his new LP, he has given a bit of insight into the project.
"I'm talking about relevant situations that have occurred over the last 18 or 24 months, like me being in the crash, my kids, my family time and me being married," 'Set explained in an interview earlier this month. "There's different parts of my life. The ups and downs of being in music, the feeling of people doubting me and being the underdog to becoming the big dog."
In the midst of his split with wife Cardi B, some fans have accused the couple of faking the breakup "for publicity" to promote Offset's upcoming album — a rumor that was quickly dispelled by Cardi, who recently previewed a new song where she raps about getting too much attention from the media.
"Press, press, press, press, press, Cardi don't need more press," the Bronx raptress said in a preview of a new song on Instagram. "Kill em all put them hoes to rest, walk in bulletproof vest!"

Demi Lovato ‘Was Upset’ Nick Jonas Did Not Invite Her to His Wedding
They’ve been pals since their Disney Channel days, but Demi Lovato “wasn’t invited” to Nick Jonas’ December 1 wedding to Priyanka Chopra, a source reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly. “Demi was upset,” says the source. “It broke her heart.”
The couple’s lavish nuptials took place over five days in Jodhpur, India, one month after Lovato, 26, left the rehab facility where she had been recovering from her July 24 drug overdose. Jonas, also 26, voiced his support for the “Sober” singer at the time of the tragedy: “Like all of you I am reeling at the news about Demi,” he wrote on Twitter. “All of us love her and need to pray for her to get well. She is a fighter.”

Lovato currently does not follow Jonas on Instagram. Even so, the source notes, “she wishes him and Priyanka the best.

Tyra Banks is Reportedly Leaving 'America's Got Talent'
Tyra Banks is allegedly putting America's Got Talent behind her.
According to a report from Page Six, Banks will not return to the NBC variety series in 2019. A source tells the outlet that the success of the Freeform movie Life-Size 2: A Christmas Eve has led to a slew of television offers for the supermodel. She apparently wants to pursue some of them, as either an actor or producer.

“Life Size 2 went way beyond expectations. It was Freeform’s biggest premiere of the year. Executives were over the moon with the cult classic sequel,” the source said. “Tyra’s been inundated with producing and acting requests. She wants to produce and create TV. She will not be returning to AGT in the new year.”

Banks previously hinted at a departure in a November Access interview, speaking of her time on the show in the past tense.

“I think I had a really nice run with AGT," she said. "I had a lot a lot of fun."
Despite the alleged plan to departure, the source told Page Six that "she loved her time at AGT."
Banks has been with the series since season 12, serving as a presenter. Her three-season run makes her the third-longest-running presenter of the series, behind Nick Cannon and his eight-season stint. Other previous presenters have left the series after briefer runs, including Regis Philbin (one season) and Jerry Springer (two seasons).

Banks is also notably absent from the upcoming spinoff series America's Got Talent: The Champions, which premieres in Jan. 7. Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor Terry Crews will serve as presenter for that seven-episode series, as opposed to Banks.

Life-Size 2 was a considerable success, ranking as the fourth-most-watched cable program of its premiere night, Dec. 2. It outdrew college football playoff games, E!'s Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Bravo's Dirty John and Hallmark's original offering for the night, A Majestic Christmas.

Banks has not commented on the departure report, but she is still pushing Life-Size 2, sharing a festive snap in-character to mark Christmas Eve.

NBC did not respond to the outlet's request for comment as of press time.

Drake Received the Cutest Christmas Present From His Son
On Tuesday, people all over the globe celebrated Christmas with loved ones and some presents, including new dad Drake. With the help of a chef, the rapper, who became a father for the first time in October 2017, hosted dinner for the holiday and, from the looks of it, got a pretty special gift.

The Grammy-winning rapper revealed the framed artwork his 1-year-old son Adonis gave him for the holiday, featuring sweet handprints in blue, green, yellow and red paint.

"Adonis > Picasso don't @ me," the proud dad captioned the picture.
It was just over the summer that Drake confirmed he had a son on his fifth studio album, Scorpion. "Yesterday morning was crazy/I had to come to terms with the fact that it's not a maybe/That shit is in stone, sealed and signed/She not my lover like Billie Jean but the kid is mine," he rapped on his track, "March 14," dedicated to the story of his son.
While appearing on the HBO Sports show The Shop, Drake gushed about his child and showed LeBron Jamesa photo.

"I have a son, he's a beautiful boy," the rapper said. "Crazy blue eyes, baby blue eyes."

While he did not name Brussaux during his appearance on The Shop, he did explain the nature of his relationship with the mother of his baby. "I am a single father learning to communicate with a woman who, you know, we've had our moments," he said. "I do want to be able to explain to my son what happened. But, I don't have any desire for him to like not love his mother or I don't want like, I don't ever want the world to be angry at his mother. Like, we have found ourselves in a situation and we are both equally responsible and now, like, I'm just really excited to be a great father."

#POLITICS: President Trump and first lady Melania Trump make surprise visit to Iraq
President Donald Trump and the first lady quietly swept into Iraq Wednesday to pay a holiday visit to US troops, at last making good on the President's promise to travel to one of the war zones he has derided as costly blunders.

After a secret overnight flight from Washington, the President and Melania Trump touched down onto a darkened air strip at Al Asad Air Base west of Baghdad, the dicey security situation still restricting Trump to a clandestine visit more than 15 years after the American invasion.
He remained on the ground for about three hours, greeting enthusiastic selfie-taking servicemen and women in their dining hall. Photos from the ground showed Trump in a black overcoat and red tie, posing for a picture with troops in fatigues. Melania Trump stood smiling next to him, wearing a mustard-colored blouse.

Trump left behind a slate of troubles in Washington, including a partial government shutdown and an unsteady economy. He's also faced criticism for a series of foreign policy decisions that have left his national security team at odds.
Trump has sought to distance himself from the foreign entanglements he describes as foolhardy mistakes made by his predecessors, including the war in Iraq. He recently ordered a drawdown of the 14,000 US troops in Afghanistan, and a complete withdrawal of 2,000 troops from Syria.
"A lot of people are going to come around to my way of thinking," Trump said of his decision on Wednesday in remarks to a small group of reporters traveling with him.
He hasn't stated plans for the 5,000 or so American troops in Iraq who returned to the country in 2014 to battle ISIS. Trump said in the country on Wednesday he had no plans to pull troops from Iraq, suggesting the country could be used as a base for potential future missions in Syria.
A day earlier, Trump had told troops via videoconference that the era of heavy US engagement abroad was ending.

"We're, right now, the policemen of the world and we're paying for it," he said on a Christmas call with troops. "And we can be the policemen of the world, but other countries have to help us."
But regardless of whether Trump likes the wars or not, they are now his; the lives of the young men and women stationed abroad subject to his decisions, whims and orders. And as such, the commander in chief was fulfilling what is viewed as an essential duty in paying them a surprise Christmastime visit.
George W. Bush made four trips to Iraq after ordering American troops into the country in 2003. Barack Obama visited once. Both men also traveled multiple times to Afghanistan.
Trump's visit comes at a fraught moment for the President and the military. Trump's defense secretary resigned last week after the Syria troop decision, writing in a departure letter the President deserved a military chief more aligned with his worldview. His replacement, a former Boeing executive, has scant foreign policy or military experience.

Trump had faced scrutiny for putting off a visit to the troops. Privately, he wondered whether such a trip would only serve to highlight wars he does not support and wants to end. But in November, after facing criticism for canceled a visit to a military cemetery in France because of rain, Trump announced he would soon travel to a war zone.
Like presidents before him, Trump's visit was shrouded in secrecy. He departed the White House quietly on Christmas night and details of his travel were very closely held within the West Wing.
A decade-and-a-half after the start of the US war, which has cost nearly 5,000 American troops their lives, Iraq remains a dangerous place.
The American-led invasion in 2003 toppled Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, but for several years afterward US troops engaged in extended fighting across the country, battling an insurgency and later sectarian violence. At their peak, US troop levels in Iraq stood near 166,000. After the combat mission ended in 2010, some troops remained behind to help stabilize the country.
Thousands more returned four years later to battle ISIS. Iraq formally declared victory against the terror group a year ago, but US troops have remained to help stabilize regions of the country and train Iraqi soldiers.

Trump criticized his predecessor, Obama, for withdrawing troops too quickly from Iraq, claiming it allowed for ISIS' rise. Obama's administration was unable to strike a deal with the Iraqi government to allow for a residual US force to maintain stability in the country. But in bringing troops home and declaring a formal end to the Iraq War, Obama fulfilled a pledge to voters to end a war that began under Bush.
Trump now finds himself eager to make good on his own promises to wind down US involvement overseas. That's what has driven his recent decisions to take US troops out of Syria and Afghanistan.
But those decisions have been unpopular among even his own national security team, including Defense Secretary James Mattis, who resigned last week. He was followed out the exit by Brett McGurk, the US special envoy to the anti-ISIS coalition who Trump claims not to know.
They and other officials warned Trump that leaving the region now would allow for ISIS, or another terror group, to regain a foothold. But the President was insistent that the time had come for US personnel to come home.

Disney Warns Verizon FiOS Customers About Potential Blackout
‘Tis the season for cable carriage fights, with December 31 a common expiration date for major deals, and the latest tussle is between Disney and Verizon FiOS.
Disney has started airing ads aimed at the 4.5 million subscribers to FiOS. The spots carry the message “don’t lose your shows.” They say that ESPN, Freeform, the Disney Channel and local ABC stations in New York and Philadelphia could go dark by this time next week if the parties cannot reach an agreement.

Sports is a central issue in the carriage impasse, as it often is. ESPN is preparing to broadcast the two College Football Playoff semi-final games, which have been two of the highest-rated live telecasts in all of television in recent years. The network also has an NFL wild-card playoff game in early January.
In an email to FiOS customers this afternoon, Verizon said Disney “is currently proposing that Verizon pay hundreds of millions of dollars more for its programming, despite the fact that many of its key networks are experiencing declining viewership.” It added, “The rising cost of programming is the biggest factor in higher TV bills and we are standing up to networks like Disney, refusing to accept these huge increases.”

The email also said Disney is “demanding” that FiOS add the ACC Network as a condition of getting access to its other networks. Verizon also said it has given Disney “a reasonable offer to continue providing you access to its networks. Unfortunately, as of today, they have rejected our offers and there is a possibility that we won’t be able to reach an agreement with them prior to our contract expiration” at 5PM ET on December 31.

Disney, like its fellow programmers, is far from unfamiliar with blackout brinkmanship. In the fall of 2017, it negotiated beyond the contract deadline with Altice but managed to avoid a disruption of carriage. The companies reached a settlement after some acrimonious back and forth about Disney’s heavy spending on sports rights boosting fees.

In a statement this morning provided to Deadline, Disney said, “Our proven history of providing extraordinary value to consumers and distributors is unmatched. Our negotiations continue in earnest and we remain optimistic that we can reach a deal.” The company did not have any immediate response to the Verizon email to customers.

The American Television Alliance, a consumer watchdog group, said 2017 set a record for the most pay-TV blackouts, with 213. This year’s pace has been a bit slower, with 137 through early December. Even so, there is considerable strain on traditional pay-TV distributors and programmers alike as customers seek out new solutions through stand-alone streaming options and skinny bundles.

Dish Network remains at odds with two major programmers, Univision and HBO (which is enduring the first blackout in its history with the satellite operator) and a year ago Starz and Altice had a high-profile outage.
