Cardi B Opens Up About Her Career & Being a New Mom in 'W': 'My Baby
Bronx rapper Cardi B talked about her past, her successful career and her journey to motherhood in an exclusive interview with W magazine published Tuesday (Oct. 9).

Before Cardi took the world by storm with her 2017 breakthrough hit "Bodak Yellow," she was a young stripper from New York City who utilized her resilient work ethic to survive and achieve her dreams. By creating hilariously magnetic videos on Instagram in her New York Latina accent, Cardi quickly accumulated thousands of followers who would later become the biggest supporters of her music career. Her breakthrough song "Bodak Yellow" propelled her to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making her the first female solo rapper to top the chart since Lauryn Hill in 1998. The hit single later paved the way for her Invasion of Privacy album released earlier this year, along with becoming the first female rapper to score three No. 1 singles on the Hot 100.
At 25, the Bronx rapper recently gave birth to her first baby, Kulture, with Migos member Offset, an endeavor that no other female rapper has taken on at the beginning of her career.

"When I got pregnant, I was fucking freaking out,” Cardi told W. “Everybody around me was like, ‘No, this never happened before. Every artist that had a baby, they already put in years in the game. This is your first year. You’re going to mess it up. How are you going to make it?’"
Despite her crippling fears, Cardi's confidence allowed her to maneuver being a new mom, which, according to her, came with a plethora of surprises."“People don’t really talk about what you go through after pregnancy. Like, they don’t tell you that you get stitches down there or that your first two weeks you’re constipated. Or that you get contractions because of breastfeeding. I wasn’t expecting that. When Kulture was born, I felt like I was a kid again, everything was making me cry, and I needed a lot of love. I be feeling like, Do babies know who’s they mom? I feel like babies love whoever is giving them the milk, and I want to give the milk the whole time. I want her to know me.”
The rap icon has also revealed that she and husband Offset are planning to raise baby Kulture in their Atlanta home, with big plans for her future. “My baby. That’s all I give a fuck about right now,” Cardi said. “I’m thinking about how my money’s going to last so this girl is 21 and put in college. I’m thinking about investments. I’m thinking about five years from now and about the craziest shit like, How am I going to discipline this girl?”

#RHoA: NeNe Leakes Seemingly Shades Kenya Moore with Instagram Post and Fans Are Here For It
NeNe Leakes is apparently no friend of Kenya Moore’s and while it wasn’t always apparent that Leakes knew that, fans believe she’s aware of that now. They speculate that Leakes’ latest piece of IG advice is directed at the former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star.

“Public disrespect and private apologies don’t mix,” Leakes’ meme read on Friday, Oct. 5.
“Nope! Not at all🏾#smh,” Leakes added in the caption.

Fans quickly began chiming in on the post, believing Leakes was referring to Moore.

The post came after Leakes went on “Bossip on WE” last week and said she believes she’d get an invite to Moore’s baby shower. But maybe Leakes has since learned about what Moore told her fans on an Instagram Story Q&A session.
“Call/text/delete: Andy Cohen, Porsha Williams and NeNe Leakes,” a follower asked last week.

“Call Porsha, text Andy, delete NeNe,” Moore replied.
The change in the RHOA stars’ relationship is a contrast from a clarification Leakes made when she previously posted a meme on Instagram over the summer.

“I really have no freaking clue where you guys are getting anything with Kenya and I from,” Leakes said on Instagram Live in July after fans thought her street code 101 advice was aimed a Moore. “Kenya and I hadn’t had an issue in, gosh, I don’t even know how long. A couple of years? I guess? We haven’t had an issue and it’s so funny how some of the people are saying things like, ‘NeNe didn’t invite Kenya to a dinner‘ and all that.”

Leakes also made it plain that she has no say in who stays or goes on RHOA and doesn’t have a hand in others’ contract negotiations.

#Empire/#Star: Actor William Levy returns to Atlanta for 'Star' turn
He’s the guy stirring up all kinds of trouble on the FOX hit “Star” – but fans of William Levy just can’t get enough!

The actor joined the cast of the Lee Daniels-created drama this season as “Mateo,” who takes over the show’s former Midtown Sound and goes up against Queen Latifah’s Carlotta in the process.  Describing his character to Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken, Levy says, “This guy is an immigrant, comes from an immigrant family, wants to achieve the American dream.  He went to university, he went through a lot, he came from nothing…so he's a guy who wants to get to wherever he wants to get, and nothing's gonna stop him."

This isn’t Levy’s first time working in Atlanta; the actor has previously shot projects here including the 2014 films Tyler Perry’s The Single Moms Club and Addicted.  It was the latter film, in fact, that helped lead to his role on “Star” – Addicted was directed by Bille Woodruff, through whom Levy met Lee Daniels.

Kevin Hart Reportedly Sued for $1.8 Million for Allegedly Screwing Over Business
Kevin Hart is being accused of failing to pay commission on a big marketing deal and now the guy who put the contract together is suing the comedian for nearly $2 million

According to the Blast reports, According to court documents obtained by The Blast, iGo Marketing & Entertainment claims they entered into a deal with Hart to negotiate marketing and celebrity tie-in deals on his behalf. iGo has worked with Jerry Seinfeld, Jamie Foxx, John Legend and many others. .

They claim their deal with Hart called for them to get paid 15% on any deal they negotiated for Hart.

In the lawsuit, iGo claims they secured numerous deals for Hart over the years with the likes of Miller-Coors, Coke-Zero, Vitamin Water, Electronic Arts, two deals with Caesars Entertainment, the Cosmopolitan Hotel and a deal with Verizon Wireless.

In 2015, Hart then terminated the deal with iGo but they claim that didn’t allow him to stop paying the commission on deals they locked down. They claim Hart did not pay them their 15% on the third year option of the deal or for the value of the stock option.
They are suing for breach of contract and are seeking no less than $1.8 million from the comedian.

Hart responded to the lawsuit, claiming he never had a written agreement with iGo. He also claimed since the third-year option to the Rally deal kicked in after they parted ways, he didn’t owe them 15% of that money.

To add insult to injury, Hart then counter-sued iGo for allegedly using his name and likeness for marketing on their website without his permission.

#RHoP: Sexual Assault Charges Dropped Against ‘Real Housewives Of Potomac’ Star Michael Darby
“Real Housewives of Potomac” star Michael Darby returns to work after the sexual assault charges against him are dropped.
The sexual assault charges against Michael Darby have been dropped and he’s headed back to work.
The “Real Housewives of Potomac” star had been suspended from filming after one of the cameramen accused him of groping his hiney last month.
Orville Palmer claims Michael groped him and when he turned around the reality TV star gave him a “flirtatious look.” After telling Michael to stop, Orville reported the incident to his supervisor.

Michael Darby was charged with felony assault and misdemeanor improper sexual contact.
The Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s office dropped its assault in the second degree and sexual offense in the fourth-degree charges against Darby on October 4.

Michael released the following statement saying he was sought out as a target because of his high profile:

Our good name and reputation have been upheld through the abandonment of this case by the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s office.
It is unfortunate that high profile people are often sought out as targets, and in this situation, someone tried to take advantage of me.

Darby’s attorney, Mike Rowan added:
The charges were dropped. They were baseless.

There were a number of alleged witnesses who said it did not happen. The peace order request by the alleged victim was also denied. There was simply nothing that happened, and nothing here.
Quick question: If Michael never touched the cameraman and Orville made false accusations against him – shouldn’t he face charges or a defamation suit at the very least?

Cameo Former Members Sue Lead Larry Blackmon Singer for $1 Million in Fight Over Royalties
Tell your brother, your sister and your mamma too … four former members of the band Cameo are suing its lead singer claiming he bogarted the band’s royalties for himself and now they want their money. Word up!
According to court documents Nathan Leftenant, Arnett Leftenant, Jeryl Bright and Gregory Johnson have filed a complaint against Lawrence Blackmon, the band’s very recognizable lead singer.

The four former members claim that in 2010, Blackmon began collecting royalties on behalf of the band, saying he would pay the other members their share. They claim Blackmon took in $103,005.30 and never paid them a dime.
They claim they’ve tried on multiple occasions to get the money they believe they are owed but Blackmon has not paid up.

In addition, the plaintiffs claim Blackmon began a Las Vegas residency in 2015 performing Cameo’s music without their permission.
They are suing to get the money they are owed, plus they are seeking $1,000,000 in punitive damages. They are also seeking 80% of the profits from live performances and other appearances using the Cameo trademark.

Cameo was big in the 1980s and achieved brief fame with the classic funk song, “Word Up!” It was the band’s first Top 40 hit and spent three weeks at number 1 on the US R&B chart.

Fabolous Indicted On 4 Felony Charges For Domestic Violence, Assault On Emily B!
Rapper Fabolous has been indicted on four felony charges stemming from his alleged vicious assault on Emily B. Get the scoop.
Grand Jury Indicts Fabolous On 4 Felony Counts Of Domestic Violence, Assault On Emily B

Fabolous may have smoothed things over with Emily B and bought her some new fronts, but a grand jury isn’t having it.
The Brooklyn rapper has been indicted on four felony charges stemming from his alleged attack on Emily in March, where he allegedly knocked out her front teeth.

The charges:
One count of domestic violence with significant bodily injury
Two counts of threatening to kill

One count of possession of a weapon (a pair of scissors)
Each charge is in the third degree which carries a 5-year jail sentence if he’s convicted.
In June, Fab reportedly took a plea deal that would keep him from serving jail time. But, I’m not sure how this new indictment comes into play in all of that.

Meanwhile…all appears to be well back at the ranch.
Emily B went back to her alleged abuser and they were recently vacationing in Hawaii.

Tina Turner Opens Up About Physical And Sexual Abuse From Ike Turner
The physical abuse that Tina Turner has experienced at the hands of her late ex-husband, #IkeTurner, has never been a secret.

Now, in an excerpt from her upcoming memoir “My Love Story,” the singer is opening up about the sexual abuse she says she experienced. According to the 78-year-old,  she was always “too embarrassed” to speak about the extent of the abuse, which she claims began directly after their wedding.
“What kind of bridegroom takes his brand-new wife to a live pornographic sex show, right after their marriage ceremony? There I sat, in this filthy place, watching Ike out of the corner of my eye, wondering: ‘Does he really like this? How could he?’” Turner recalled.

“It was all so ugly. The male performer was unattractive and seemingly impotent, and the girl — well, let’s just say that what was on display was more gynecological than erotic,” Tina wrote. “I was miserable, on the verge of tears, but there was no escape. We couldn’t leave until Ike was ready, and he was having a fine old time.”

Next, according to Turner, Ike began to use cocaine to enhance his sexual stamina, thus creating even more hell for her.
“Sex with Ike had become an expression of hostility — a kind of rape — especially when it began or ended with a beating,” she said.⠀⠀

“What had been ugly and hateful between us before became worse with every snort of cocaine. He threw hot coffee in my face, giving me third-degree burns. He used my nose as a punching bag so many times that I could taste blood running down my throat when I sang. He broke my jaw. And I couldn’t remember what it was like not to have a black eye. The people closest to us saw what was happening, but they couldn’t stop him: any attempt to help me would make him more violent.”

George Taliaferro, First African-American Picked In NFL Draft, Dies At 91
George Taliaferro, the first African-American player to be drafted by an NFL team, passed away Monday night at the age of 91.
Taliaferro dubbed the “Jackie Robinson of Football,” was a three-time All-American at Indiana. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 13th round of the 1949 draft, but he never played for the team.

“I knew everybody who ever played with the Bears, that was my team,” Taliferro told The Undefeated last year.
He had already committed to play for the Los Angeles Dons of the All-America Football Conference. Taliaferro played for the team during the 1949 season. Though he was a Bears fan, he signed with the Dons a week before the NFL draft.
A true athlete, Taliaferro played seven positions — quarterback, running back, wide receiver, punter, kick returner, punt returner, and defensive back. He is the only player in the NFL’s history to have accomplished such a feat.

Taliaferro entered the NFL in 1950 after the AAFC folded and played six seasons, from 1950-1955. He was also selected to the Pro Bowl in three consecutive seasons from 1951 to 1953.
Colts owner Jim Irsay tweeted that Taliaferro was “a trailblazer and a true gentleman.”
“I’m the one person in the history of the NFL to play seven positions,” Taliaferro said. “When I went on the field, the game was over when I came off.”

Taliaferro started for the 1945 Hoosiers team that went 9-0-1, the only team in school history to finish undefeated. The same season he became the first African-American player to lead the Big Ten in rushing yards.
Taliaferro was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1981.

The Walt Disney Company Files Lawsuit Against Stuart Scott’s Estate Over Ex-Wife’s Claim For His Retirement Money
The Walt Disney Company has filed a lawsuit against late ESPN anchor Stuart Scott’s estate because Scott’s ex-wife sued them for $162,000 that the company claims the estate has.

After Scott’s death, his ex-wife Kimberly Scott filed a lawsuit against Disney and Fidelity claiming she was supposed to be given rights to Scott’s retirement fund from Disney. However, according to documents, after Scott passed Disney had his family trust listed as the beneficiary of his retirement accounts. Disney claims to have given the money to his trust before Kimberly filed the lawsuit.

The Walt Disney Company claims it shouldn’t be a fault for giving the money to the estate, according to the Blast. Now Disney would like to be omitted from the lawsuit because it fears that the wrong person could have taken the funds. Disney feels the only parties that need to be included in the lawsuit are the estate and Kimberly.

Back in 2007, Kimberly filed for divorce from Scott; the departure gave Kimberly $162,899.04 plus interest from Scott’s Disney Savings and Investment Plan 401k Account. Scott was never able to comply with giving Kimberly the $162,899.04 before his death on January 4, 2015. Following Scott’s death, Kimberly tried to get the money but couldn’t because it had already been given to the estate.

The case is still active.
