#RHoA: Cynthia Bailey and Eva Marcille Shows NeNe Hubby Gregg Leakes Love and Treats Amid His Cancer Battle!
"This Father’s Day will probably be one of the most memorable ones we’ve ever had together!" NeNe Leakes said.
NeNe Leakes' husband, Gregg Leakes, is staying strong during his cancer battle — with a little help from his friends. Some of The Real Housewives of Atlanta performer's closest pals came out to support her and her husband during this difficult time on Sunday.
NeNe hosted a special gathering on Father's Day in celebration of Gregg. "This Father’s Day will probably be one of the most memorable ones we’ve ever had together!" NeNe gushed on Instagram in a post that featured a lovely photo of her and Gregg. "We are usually doing something all fancy but today we chose to just enjoy each other, have some company over and take tons of pics right here in the kitchen no really, I love you more today than ever Gregg. Happy Father’s Day hunni."
Some of the company the RHOA couple welcomed to Casa Leakes on Sunday included Cynthia Bailey and Eva Marcille and they both came bearing "goodies" as they paid Gregg a visit. Eva confirmed that NeNe and Gregg were "all smiles" when she stopped by to see the couple. "Woke up grateful to see @greggleakes smiling & full of love & positivity," Cynthia shared on Instagram. "I came over to put a smile on your face, and it was you that ended up putting a big one on mine. Love always."
Both NeNe and Gregg seemed to be in good spirits as they posed for some pretty pics during the celebration. "[You're] gonna be just fine hunni!" NeNe shared on Instagram.
NeNe later confirmed on Instagram that the cancer had been removed and the couple was deciding whether or not Gregg should undergo chemotherapy. In the same post, she thanked all of her fans and friends who have shown their support to Gregg amid his cancer battle. "We have been so overwhelmed with the outpouring of love, support, thoughtfulness & prayers," NeNe shared on Instagram. "So far, Gregg is doing great! He feels good with the exception of not being able to eat a lot."
#Empire: The Best All-Time Anika Moments on “Empire” Part #4
When Empire first came out back in 2015, it became an instant hit mainly because of the characters at play. The top billers, Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard, are the epitome of what power couples should be. Not only are their characters successful and charismatic; they’re also equally insane in the most dramatic sense of the word. Of course, for Taraji’s character Cookie to be fully recognized, there has to be an opposing force that’s just equal in power and pull. That opposing force for the past four seasons of the show is Anika Calhoun, played by the amazing Grace Byers. Anika was a force to be reckoned with on the show, and she still managed to shock us all her time on the show. So in her honor all this week on The Chronicles we will show you the five best Anika moments on Empire.
4. My Naked Villainy – Season 3 Episode 13
By the end of season 2, any thought of Anika having some good in her was completely gone in our minds. She was flat out villain in every sense of the word, and she showed us in so many ways. She wasn’t easily intimidated as was evident in this episode. Even when Lucious was sick as ever, he still managed to employ some scare tactics to intimidate those around him. Anika couldn’t be fooled, however, as she made sure that Lucious knew she had the upper hand in their situation.

#NewHipHop from Mobb Deep Drops ‘Hamilton’-Inspired ‘Boom Goes The Cannon…’
Nearly one year after Prodigy’s death, Lin-Manuel Miranda pays tribute to the late rapper with an unreleased Mobb Deep track “Boom Goes the Cannon…” Released as part of June’s “Hamildrop,” the track serves as one of Prodigy’s final recordings with Havoc, and the first posthumous release since his passing.
Prior to Prodigy’s death, Miranda invited The Infamous duo to see “Hamilton,” leading to their collaboration on “Boom Goes the Cannon…,” which incorporates a sample of “Right Hand Man” from the acclaimed Broadway show. Prodigy delivers his verse as George Washington, one of the characters from “Hamilton.”
“I paid homage to Mobb Deep in Hamilton by having Alexander Hamilton quote one of Prodigy’s most immortal lyrics: ‘I’m only 19 but my mind is old…’ They are New York hip-hop legends,” said Miranda.
“I feel so humbled and grateful that Havoc and Prodigy not only came to see us at the Rodgers in 2016, but were inspired to create this track before Prodigy’s untimely passing last year. Their lyrics, as ever, paint a vivid picture of friendship and solidarity in the face of overwhelming odds. I’m unbelievably proud to present new Mobb Deep music in 2018. This one’s for Queensbridge.”

June 20 marks the one-year anniversary of Prodigy’s passing. The rapper was 42 when he died after an accidental choking in the hospital while getting treatment for sickle cell anemia.
#LookyLooky: Idris Elba Tests the Waters Near Fiancée’s ‘Pacific Rim’ in Ibiza
Idris Elba is having an awesome time on vacation with his hot fiancée, no butts about it.
The movie star spent the weekend sunning himself on a yacht in Ibiza with Sabrina Dhowre, who you may remember as the 2014 Miss Vancouver.
Elba and Dhowre have been romantically linked since 2017, and he popped the question in February during a screening of his directorial debut, “Yardie.”
The 45-year-old “Pacific Rim” star has been married twice before and has two children, however, this will be the first marriage for 29-year-old Dhowre.
17 Year Old Unarmed Teenager Antwon Rose Shot 3 Times In the Back While Fleeing East Pittsburgh Police!
A 17-year-old boy in East Pittsburgh is dead after being shot three times in the back by an officer who had been sworn into the police department just hours earlier.
Antwon Rose was killed Tuesday night while fleeing from a car that had been pulled over in connection with an earlier shooting in North Braddock, Pennsylvania, according to WTAE TV.
A post on the Allegheny County Police Department’s Facebook page described what happened:
An East Pittsburgh police officer saw a vehicle matching the description on Grandview Avenue which also had ballistics damage to the rear window. The officer stopped the vehicle near Grandview and Howard Street in East Pittsburgh.
The officer took the driver into custody. While he was putting the driver into handcuffs, two other occupants ran from the car.
One individual ― a 17-year-old male ― was shot by police. He was transported to McKeesport Hospital where he was declared deceased.
Rose was not armed, Allegheny County police Superintendent Coleman McDonough said at a press conference Wednesday afternoon, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
Antwon Rose was shot and killed by a police officer in East Pittsburgh.
A bystander posted a 17-second video of the incident on Facebook. It shows two people running away from two police cars. After three gunshots, both of those people dive or fall to the ground.
Although the officer involved in the shooting was placed on leave by the East Pittsburgh Police Department, he has not been publicly named, McDonough told the Post-Gazette.
On Wednesday, East Pittsburgh Mayor Louis Payne told local station WPXI TV that the officer had been sworn into the department only a few hours before the shooting. However, he isn’t a rookie, having been an officer with other area police departments for the past seven years.
McDonough declined to say whether the officer is white, telling the Post-Gazette that he didn’t see what that had to do with the shooting.
People who live near where Rose was killed are outraged.
“Why did they have to shoot him when he is running away?” Selena Brooklin said to the Post-Gazette. “What is the justification for that? There is no justification. There is no answer. You shot a man in the back while he was running away.”
The 20-year-old driver of the vehicle that Rose allegedly fled was taken into custody. He was later released because officers did not feel they had cause to charge him in the North Braddock shooting, according to USA Today.
The North Braddock incident had happened less than 15 minutes earlier. Shots were fired from a car and a 22-year-old man was hit in the abdomen. The man, who was treated at a hospital and later released, told police that he fired back and struck the car.
Although McDonough said he was confident the car carrying Rose was involved in the North Braddock incident, more investigation was needed to determine whether Rose had fired a weapon in the earlier shooting, according to USA Today.
Rose’s death is being mourned by students and faculty at Woodland Hills High School. “He was an excellent student,” school superintendent Al Johnson told The New York Times, adding that Rose was taking Advanced Placement classes.
With Rose’s death, Johnson said the school has lost four students to gun violence over the past academic year.
Kim Ransom, who employed Rose at the Pittsburgh Gymnastics Club for about a year, told the Times that the teenager would be missed.
“Everybody loved him here. He was very mature,” Ransom said.
“I feel like it’s important for people to know that he was Antwon,” she said. “He’s not a statistic, he’s Antwon.”
Rachel Maddow Breaks Down in Tears on Live TV While Describing ‘Tender Age’ Shelters
Rachel Maddow became emotional on air while describing how President Donald Trump’s administration is operating shelters for babies and toddlers who are separated from their parents at the U.S.–Mexico border.
“Trump administration officials have been sending babies and other young children forcibly separated from their parents at the U.S.–Mexico border to at least three ‘tender age’ shelters in South Texas,” the MSNBC host, 45, said toward the end of The Rachel Maddow Show on Tuesday, June 19, while reading a breaking news report published by the Associated Press just minutes earlier.
Maddow immediately choked up and abruptly ended the segment. “I think I’m going to have to hand this off. Sorry,” she said before turning her body away from the camera and waving goodbye. The show then cut to the next program, Last Word With Lawrence O’Donnell.Just 16 minutes later, the political commentator took to Twitter to apologize for breaking down in tears during a live broadcast. “Ugh, I’m sorry,” she wrote in a series of tweets. “If nothing else, it is my job to actually be able to speak while I’m on TV. … I suddenly couldn’t say/do anything. … Again, I apologize for losing it there for a moment. Not the way I intended to go, not by a mile.”
Many of Maddow’s viewers came to her defense and told her that she didn’t need to apologize. Chrissy Teigen tweeted that she and her husband, John Legend, “have watched this show for a long, long time now” and even record it every night on their DVR. She added, “I’ve never ever seen [Maddow] cry.”

The emotional moment on Maddow’s show was a sharp contrast to a Fox News segment that aired earlier in the night. Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said “womp womp” on The Story With Martha MacCallum when fellow guest Zac Petkanas spoke about a 10-year-old girl with Down syndrome who was separated from her mother. The Democratic strategist angrily replied, “How absolutely dare you.”

#POLITICS: GOP Strategist Steve Schmidt Quits ‘Corrupt’ Party Of ‘Feckless Cowards,’ Will Vote For Democrats
Steve Schmidt, a veteran of the George W. Bush White House, tweeted that the Republican Party “has become a danger to our democracy and values.”

Veteran GOP strategist Steve Schmidt renounced his Republican Party membership on Wednesday and pledged to vote for Democrats in an effort to preserve “what is right and decent” in the United States.
In a series of scathing tweets, Schmidt blasted the GOP as “corrupt, indecent and immoral” and “fully the party of Trump.”
“It is filled with feckless cowards who disgrace and dishonor the legacies of the party’s greatest leaders,” tweeted Schmidt, an MSNBC political analyst who has been an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump. “Today the GOP has become a danger to our democracy and our values.”
Schmidt, who served as an adviser in the George W. Bush White House, strongly condemned the Trump administration’s policy of separating families caught illegally crossing the border into the U.S.
“This child separation policy is connected to the worst abuses of humanity in our history,” he tweeted. “It is connected by the same evil that separated families during slavery and dislocated tribes and broke up Native American families. It is immoral and must be repudiated.”
Schmidt, who said in July that Trump had the “impulse control of a little child,” joins a growing chorus of political pundits and lawmakers to rebuke the administration’s practice of separating children from parents facing prosecution for illegally crossing the border.
“All Americans are rightly horrified by the images we are seeing on the news, children in tears pulled away from their mothers and fathers,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said. “This must stop. Now.”
Folks Slam Actor Laz Alonso for ‘Black on Black Crime’ Take on XXXTentacion’s Death
XXXTentacion’s fatal shooting death Monday remains a topic of conversation as many have weighed in on the matter. For actor Laz Alonso, that meant giving a reason for why the rising rap star was gunned down.
“I grew up in DC when it was the murder capital. Black on black crime was normal to us. But never in my lifetime has killing each other is more destructive than now when black me r hunted like animals & imprisoned 4 life. Don’t help the genocide. #RIPXXXTentacion #weallwegot”
While the “Avatar” actor had some support for his message, others blasted him for his line of thinking.
“Right! Don’t help the genocide of our people!”
“🙏🏽 thank you. Finally! Someone speaking to one of the darkest tragedies of our time. Breaks my heart what so many voiceless Moms are feeling right now… the loss of their little boy…. we are losing us😥.”
“Thank you for speaking on this. Same growing up in 757.”
“I agree. It’s us killing us after we worked and continue to work so hard to save our people from racist killing and imprisonment. But here we are, letting our jealousy and greed turn us into monsters. We can’t stand strong by lifting each other because we are too busy breaking our people down. It’s so sad. As a parent this is scary. As a human this is unthinkable. As a Black/Native American, this is unbelievable. I often wonder what life would be like if love and caring for ourselves and all others was our reality. It doesn’t seem hard to do but it seems impossible to do with the humans currently inhabiting this earth.”
“I’m so confused. Have they even released the suspects’ names/photos? If not, how the hell do we know they were Black and why does everyone keep assuming they are and chastising the Black community??? And X was a violent, sadistic being while alive.”
“Uhh @lazofficial why do you automatically assume the killer was Black, sir? He hasn’t been identified.”
No motive or arrests have been determined or made in XXXTentacion’s death, however, talk about Black on Black crime in regards to the rapper’s death remained.
“People kill those they are in close proximity to. White people kill white people too. It’s just not prominent in the media. Let’s not subscribe to the ‘Black on Black’ crime term. People need to stop killing, period.”
In response to the above commenter, Alonso directed the conversation back to his point: Black people are being hunted.
“@ivasmith what u say is correct but that is not my point. My point is they are not being hunted like animals. We are. It means more right now that we stop the madness cuz that’s all it is, madness. What the media chooses to show or not is not the point right now. Right now the point is u are either on our side or against us. If ur killing each other u are against us.”
Lil Kim’s Bankruptcy in Danger of Being Dismissed!
But $4 Million Debt May Not Being Wiped Clean
Lil Kim bankruptcy case is in danger of being dismissed and her debt NOT being wiped clean, due to the trustee objecting to her proposed repayment plan.
Last month, the 41-year-old rapper filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy. This month, the United States Bankruptcy Court District of New Jersey submitted an objection to her request for loss mitigation. The doc explains,
The Chapter 13 Standing Trustee objects to Kimberly Jones’s Request for Loss Mitigation. Based upon Ms. Jones’s own schedules, she is clearly ineligible to be a Chapter 13 Debtor under 11 USC 109(e) with secured and unsecured debt each exceeding $2 million. Since Ms. Jones is not eligible to be a Chapter 13 Debtor, she should not be afforded the benefit of the Court’s Loss Mitigation Program in connection with this Chapter 13 Case. Once Ms. Jones coverts this case to a proper Chapter of the Bankruptcy Code, then she can renew her application for loss mitigation at that time if appropriate.
Based on the bankruptcy docs, Kim owes close to $2 million in back taxes alone ($1,845,451). Her larger creditors include unpaid federal taxes (from 2004 – 2017) and a loan company for close to $1.5 million. She proposed a plan that would allow her to pay $5,550 per month for 60 months.
Lets hope for the best!
African Americans are suing Washington DC for GENTRIFICATION Damage!
A Black lawyer is suing the District of Columbia for a colossal $1 billion, accusing the city of blatantly promoting gentrification and driving out longtime Black homeowners by the herds in favor of younger, White millennial renters.
Attorney Aristotle Theresa is filing the lawsuit on behalf of three native Washingtonians and CARE, a community organization with more than 20 members, The Washington Post reports. They claim District officials are deliberately trying to “lighten” the city and have put policies in place that are pushing out longtime low-income and middle-income residents who are Black as a result of the skyrocketing property values due to the tremendous influx of younger White workers who can pay the astronomical rental fees.
“The city is intentionally trying to lighten Black neighborhoods, and the way they have primarily been doing it is through construction of high-density, luxury buildings, that primarily only offer studios and one bedrooms,” Theresa’s suit reads.
Theresa has set big targets in his sights. He is a civil rights attorney with expertise in zoning and administrative Law. He is suing the Office of Planning, the Zoning Commission, the Deputy Mayor for Economic Development, Mayor Muriel Bowser and former Mayor Adrian Fenty.
Theresa is a man to be reckoned with — and not only because of his unforgettable first name. The Howard University Law School graduate is a principal partner of “Stoop Law,” a community justice project located in the historic Anacostia neighborhood of southeast Washington, D.C. That area has been predominantly Black for many decades, and residents are fearful of being driven out with callous disregard. Stoop Law specializes in gentrification law and is fighting to slow down the metamorphosis of its historic and beloved streets.
Theresa successfully sued the D.C. Housing Authority on behalf of residents of the public housing complex for the way the District was handling redevelopment. The area is being bulldozed completely and rebuilt with much more expensive apartment complexes and condos, which Theresa says are meant to economically integrate the area. Residents say they fear they will end up being evicted from their complex and driven to places like Prince George’s County in Maryland, a prosperous Black suburb straddling the outer edge of the District.
“D.C. residents’ access to rental property [is] predicated at least in part on membership in an invented discrete class which directly discriminates on source of income,” Theresa writes in the complaint.
District officials have yet to respond to Theresa’s lawsuit, but they are required to do so by June 25. The mayor, Attorney General’s Office and Zoning Commission declined to offer comments or responses about pending litigation, according to told The Washington Post and DCist.com.
Gentrification has been talked about and fought against for nearly two decades now in the nation’s capital. Theresa, who was raised in Washington, said he believes the District is actively trying to get rid of its African American residents.
“I think [gentrification] is problematic because it strips away the heart and soul of the city,” Theresa told the newspaper. “D.C. is unrecognizable. It’s a staging ground for people at a certain point in their career. It’s a pit stop, and they come and they go, and they don’t offer much.”
Is Tyler Perry leaving OWN for Viacom?
In summer 2017, Tyler Perry signed a mega-deal with Viacom that covers film, TV and short-form video. As his exlusive arrangement with OWN nears its conclusion next year, Perry talked about the Viacom play today at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity and revealed discussions for a Tyler Perry OTT service as part of the deal while also touching on diversity and plugging his Atlanta-based Tyler Perry Studios.
A key factor in Perry’s decision to leave OWN and go to Viacom was a need for more options. “OWN is one channel and I have this huge machine that can churn out so much content. Viacom has many channels and outlets where I can place the content,” the prolific writer, director, producer and actor said.
With a traditional cable group, where is the streaming opportunity? Said Perry, “In that deal, we are talking about a Tyler Perry OTT which we’re really excited about, streaming to consumers as well. However, if you look at the stats on my audience, we’re still there. We’re still in that cable world. That’s why my shows are able to do so well in cable. As time goes on, we’ll make the progression. But being with a company like Viacom, they’re already ahead of it, already thinking about it.”
Also, he said, “I’m really excited to get to work with BET and get in side-by-side with those guys and bring something fresh.” The deal will see Perry produce approximately 90 episodes annually of original drama and comedy series for BET, which caters primarily to African-American audiences, and other Viacom networks.
Turning the discussion to diversity, Perry said he “took a lot of heat” during the #OscarsSoWhite campaign. “I didnt want to get into it. I respect all the people who were fighting for a seat at the table, but I was building my own table” via Tyler Perry Studios.
Perry continued, “By having a group of people who haven’t had their shot in Hollywood see that I’ve been able to do this has been such a beacon for so many people which is so important and so powerful to me. What I know for sure is that when people start to reflect the problems that we have, when those people rise to power, those problems go away. So it’s great to fight for a seat at the table, but at the same time I think more of us need to build our own tables, have our own share of IP so we can use what we have to elevate us all. Once you get in, then you open the door and let someone else in.”
Eva Longoria Gives Birth To Her Baby Boy!
Eva Longoria just had her baby. The actress and her husband, Jose Baston, gave birth to their baby boy on the 19th of June. According to HOLA!, Eva and Baston welcomed their son, Santiago Enrique Baston into the world.
Eva and Baston shared a photograph of their child with the outlet. They told them they were tremendously “grateful for this beautiful blessing.”
As you may know, Eva has been candid about pregnancy in the last year, as she has made several red carpet walks while pregnant as well as a celebrity-filled baby shower.
Moreover, the Hollywood Walk Of Fame committee granted her a star on the infamous Hollywood street. The Desperate Housewives star confirmed the news of her upcoming baby back in December and showed off her baby bump on the beaches of Miami.
Back in April, just two months before the arrival of their child, several of the star’s friends and Hollywood peers came to her celebration for her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Ricky Martin, Felicity Huffman, and Anna Faris were all their for the ceremony. And her baby shower was a celebrity-studded bash.
A source told us previously, “everyone had a lot of fun there including in the photo booth and when they handed out toys and stuff. There was a bar there and a lot of wine was passed around.”
According to the insider, there were even massage chairs, hair, and makeup booths, and all of the women there were all about getting “glammed up.”
As it was previously reported, Longoria has been trying to become a mother for a long time. At the premiere of Overboard, Eva said she couldn’t “wait to meet him.” The small-screen star explained she was looking forward to the day when she knew what his hair looked like, the sound of his laugh, and his personality.
