The Daily Buzz For March 15 ☕📰☕

Lisa Bonet for Net-a-Porter’s Porter Edit - March 2018 She praises Jason Momoa's masculinity!
The 50-year-old actress has been dating the 'Justice League' star - with whom she has daughter Lola, 10, and son Nakoa-Wolf, nine - since 2005 before marrying him in secret last year, and has now gushed over her hubby's ability to be both an "alpha male" and still value "love and family".

She said: "What's cool about Jason is that he's an alpha male who stands for love and family. And to circle back to my own wounds, having an absent father, then to be fully met by a man of that stature, is really incredible.
"Jason embodies a rare form of masculinity in this day and age - he's a leader, he's generous. Just in terms of charisma, physique, the right use of power, responsibility, work ethic, you can go down the line."
The 'Angel Heart' actress - who is also mother to 29-year-old actress Zoe Kravitz, whom she has with her ex-husband and musician Lenny Kravitz - has also praised the "big" love that she and Jason, 38, felt for one another almost as soon as they met.

Speaking to Net-a-Porter's The Edit magazine, she added: "I can't say it was full-on from the moment we saw each other, but we have been together from the day that we met. In that moment, love came and it came big, and he did not run as I think a lot of men do. He basically picked me up and threw me over his shoulder, caveman style!"
It comes after the former 'Game of Thrones' actor previously admitted he had been harbouring a crush on Lisa since he was eight years old, when he saw her play Denise Huxtable on 'The Cosby Show' in the 1980s.
He said: "I was eight-years-old and I saw her on the TV and I was like, 'Mommy, I want that one.' I was like, 'I'm going to stalk you for the rest of my life, and I'm going to get you.' I'm a full-fledged stalker.
"I didn't tell her that until we had two babies otherwise it would have been creepy and weird. I've always wanted to meet her. She was the queen always."

#RHoA: Cynthia Bailey Calls Out Shereé Whitfield for Playing Favorites With Kim Zolciak
"If Shereé is gonna be the bone collector, she should give everybody their bones," Says Cynthia.

Shereé Whitfield has often been referred to as the "bone collector" on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," but co-star Cynthia Bailey feels she doesn't always deliver them.
On last week's episode of the Bravo series, NeNe Leakes was upset that Shereé didn't tell her that she knew about the video that began the biggest beef of Season 10 -- RoachGate -- and Cynthia told TooFab in an interview on Tuesday that she agreed with NeNe.
"I absolutely think she should have given NeNe the bone about Kim's daughter videoing a water bug in her house," Cynthia said. "I know that she would have given that information to Kim."

Cynthia added Shereé "absolutely" plays favorites with Kim because "Kim is her girl," and "Shereé just kinda goes with whatever Kim says."
"If I'm friends with someone and that person's right, they're right," Cynthia said. "But if they're wrong, I don't have a problem saying it."

Another bone Cynthia felt Shereé should have given was to Kandi Burruss. During the same exchange in which Kim showed Shereé the video daughter Brielle Biermann took of bugs in NeNe's bathroom, she also told her that Kandi once tried to "lick her box" -- a claim Kandi vehemently denied.
"Kandi was hurt that Shereé knew that Kim told her that Kandi tried to lick her box," Cynthia said. "Shereé has a great relationship with Kandi, and she didn't carry that bone to Kandi. Kandi had to watch it on the show. That's how she found out. That bone wasn't carried. So if Shereé is gonna be the bone collector, she should give everybody their bones."

Regarding her relationship with Will Jones -- another one of this season's leading storylines -- Cynthia said the two are currently just "friends."

"We kind of slowed down. We kind of took a break," she said. "It was very overwhelming for him to watch the show and see how everything played out, which is expected. I wanted to give him a little bit of space to take it all in because it's not easy to go from not being on TV to being on TV and seeing yourself portrayed in a way that you would not want to be portrayed."
Numerous times throughout the season, Cynthia's castmates made comments about how Will was an "opportunist." He was also accused of cheating on Cynthia.

"I can't take responsibility for how the cast felt," Cynthia said. "I feel bad for Will, to be honest. He was hurt. Whether or not we end up together, Will is a very nice man."

"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on Bravo.

#EMPIRE Director Inks Overall Deal With 20th TV
Sanaa Hamri will also board Ilene Chaiken's Fox drama pilot starring Katie Holmes.
20th Century Fox Television is locking up Sanaa Hamri.

The studio has signed the Empire exec producer and frequent director to a new overall deal, keeping her at the studio for at least another two years.

Under the pact, Hamri will remain on Empire and join Fox's untitled Ilene Chaiken and Melissa Scrivner drama pilot as an exec producer and director. She will reunite with outgoing Empire showrunner Chaiken on the pilot starring Katie Holmes. She will also create and develop new projects for the studio.
“Sanaa’s an extraordinarily talented director with a deep and unique understanding of pop culture, earned from years of establishing herself in the music video scene as both an editor and director," 20th TV president of creative affairs Jonnie Davis said. "She’s a creative force of nature, able to translate bold material seamlessly to the screen, and is simply one of the most current and relevant directors working in television today. We’re thrilled to expand our relationship with her, continuing her role as executive producer and director on Empire, while ensuring that she’ll be able to bring her talent and vision to a variety of other studio projects.”

Hamri's directing credits include Shameless, Rectify, Glee and features Something New, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 and Just Wright. She's repped by CAA, Larry Kennar and Patti Felker.
Hamri becomes the latest overall deal at 20th TV, joining Kurt Sutter, Rich Appel, Tim Minear and Danielle Sanchez-Witzel at the studio that, should regulators approve the $52.4 billion deal, could become a Disney property.

#HIPHOPNEWS: Diddy Thanks Craig Mack For Contributions To Hip Hop
While the Hip Hop community still reels from the death of Bad Boy star Craig Mack, who passed away on Monday (March 12), Sean “Diddy” Combs has gathered his thoughts. On Tuesday (March 13), the Bad Boy founder penned a tribute to the fallen MC on social media, thanking him for his contributions to Hip Hop.
“Craig Mack, you were the first artist to release music on Bad Boy and gave us our first hit,” Diddy wrote. “You always followed your heart and you had an energy that was out of this world. You believed in me and you believed in Bad Boy. I will never forget what you did for hip-hop.”
But the Hip Hop mogul wasn’t done there. Diddy also posted several photos and a video of Mack on Instagram and reiterated his integral role at Bad Boy Records. Mack’s 1994 smash hit, “Flava In Ya Ear,” was the iconic imprint’s first major single.
“Craig was very important to the Bad Boy legacy,” he wrote. “Such a kind, loving and special individual.”

Diddy joins countless members of the Hip Hop community who have expressed their condolences.

#DEVELOPING: Donald Trump Jr. and wife headed for divorce!
WOW…..According to Page Six Donald Trump Jr. and his wife, Vanessa Trump, are struggling through marital problems and friends say they are heading for divorce.
Vanessa and the eldest son of President Donald Trump married in November 2005 and have five children. But while they have not legally separated, friends say they have been living separate lives.

Divorce proceedings have not yet been initiated, but friends say they expect the couple to file soon. A spokesperson for Don Jr., Vanessa and the Trump Organization declined to comment, despite numerous requests to do so over two days.
One source told us, “The problems have been there for a long time, the couple had hoped to stay together during the president’s time in office, but it is getting harder to resolve their issues. He’s never there.”

Don Jr., 40, has been traveling a lot. In February he was in India, and he has continued to take his hunting trips. Don Jr. is an avid hunter and there are many pictures of him online posing with the carcasses of elephants, leopards and other animals.
Don Jr. and his brother Eric, 34, are running the Trump Organization while their father is in office. Another of the sources told us, “Don Jr. has been busy traveling, which has contributed to their problems. Vanessa is a devoted mother, but she is increasingly lonely and alone in the house with the children.”
An issue, two of the sources say, is that Don Jr. “appears to have changed recently, and friends are concerned about him.” Their concerns were increased by Don Jr.’s tweeting, including when he liked a tweet linking antidepressants to mass murder, and another liking a tweet attacking a teen survivor of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting. The Daily Beast also reported that following the school shooting, Don Jr. urged his dad to stay strong on gun rights and hold firm against any assault weapons ban.

Previously at Halloween, Don tweeted that he would take away half of his 3-year-old daughter’s Halloween candy because he wrote, “it’s never to [sic] early to teach her about socialism.” Then after his recent trip to India, he was heavily criticized for his tone-deaf remark praising the country’s poor because “There’s still a smile on a face.”

Last year, Don Jr. asked to have his 24-hour Secret Service detail removed, saying he wanted more privacy. The Washington Post quoted a former member of the Trump administration saying that the Secret Service had been sending a rotating set of temporary agents to protect their young children and “There are all these new people coming and going. The kids don’t like that. They can’t get comfortable with someone they don’t know.” But the 24-hour protection for his family was restored later the same month.

The sources add that psychology graduate Vanessa is uncomfortable with the intense focus on the Trump family. One told us, “Vanessa is by nature is a very low-key person, and she is uncomfortable with the attention her family is getting now the Trumps are on the world stage. She is also worried for her kids, particularly after she received the threatening letter containing the white powder.”

In February, Vanessa was taken to a hospital as a precaution after she opened a letter addressed to Don Jr., mailed to their Manhattan home, which contained an explicit threat along with the white powder. The NYPD later said the powder in the envelope was non-hazardous, but the sources said of the experience, “It was terrifying for Vanessa, who is naturally worried for the safety of her children.”

Is Harry Styles Addressing His Bi-Sexuality in a New song?
Harry Styles surprised fans with two new songs recently, and has sent listeners straight to Twitter with questions about his sexuality.
The singer and former One Direction member, 24, performed in Paris on Tuesday night at the AccorHotels Arena as part of his current European solo tour when he debuted the previously unreleased tracks “Anna” and “Medicine,” the latter of which caught the attention of many due its lyrics.

“The boys and the girls are here I mess around with them / And I’m okay with it / I’m coming down/ I figured out I kinda like it / And when I sleep I’m gonna dream of how you tasted,” Styles can be heard belting out in a fan-recorded video from the concert.

Though the singer has yet to confirm the inspiration behind the song, many on social media have dubbed “Medicine” a “bisexual anthem.”

New Couple Alert: Mindy Kaling & Cuba Gooding Jr.
Actors Cuba Gooding Jr., left, and Mindy Kaling are apparently off the market. A BACKGRID photographer snapped the couple checking out of the Corinthia Hotel at the same time in London, England early Wednesday.
The photos sparked online rumors of a romantic rendezvous between the A-listers. Mindy is in London promoting her new film ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ with co-stars Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon.

Kaling, 38, dressed casually in a blue Montlcer bubble coat, blue jeans, blue Chanel quilted tote bag and blue Balenciaga runners.
Gooding Jr. dressed conservatively in a blue Montcler bubble vest and plaid button down shirt.

Kaling remains secretive about who fathered her only child, daughter Katherine Swati. Kaling left the father’s name off the baby’s birth certificate in January.
Kaling is best known for creating, writing, producing and starring in the Fox/Hulu sitcom The Mindy Project.

In January 2017, Gooding Jr. filed for divorce from his wife Sara Kapfer after 22 years of marriage. The 50-year-old actor has three children.

U.S Students demand action on gun violence with nationwide walkout!
Exactly one month after 17 people were killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, survivors of the massacre joined tens of thousands of students across the U.S. by walking out of school on Wednesday morning.
An estimated 185,000 people in 50 states were expected to join the walkout, with around 3,100 schools planning to participate, an organizer with the Women's March told NBC News.

The marches ranged in size. At Terre Haute North Vigo High School in Terre Haute, Indiana, organizer Elisabeth Downing said over 60 students stood in silence, many wearing orange — the color representing support for tighter gun laws.
"No matter what you decide the action to be, we just want action," said Downing, a senior. "We’re tired of thoughts and prayers, and we’re ready to finally do something."

In Rhode Island, where a nor'easter on Tuesday dumped up to a foot of snow in some places, students weren't able to march outside. About 250 students at Pilgrim High School in Warwick instead walked from their classrooms to the auditorium.
"That could have been us. We were the same age as the Parkland kids," said a co-organizer, Karly Evans, a senior. "It was a very emotionally moving experience to be part of."
Emily Lower, a senior from Central High School in St. Joseph, Missouri, said a few hundred students showed up to the walkout — "way better than we expected."

“I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face," she said. "To see that many kids engaged and what their voices could accomplish and seeing the masses, it was an incredible feeling."
At Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, the walkout lasted 30 minutes — 17 minutes for the Parkland victims, and 13 for each victim of the massacre at the high school in 1999. During the half-hour of silence, students released red, white or blue balloons, one at a time, in memory of those killed.

In New York, some protesters gathered outside Trump Tower, including Cinthia Sierra, a 16-year-old from the Leadership and Public Service High School in downtown Manhattan.

"It literally can happen to any school, anywhere in the country. School should be a place that's safe. It felt like we're all using the voices that we have," she said.
Not every school was supportive of people leaving class. In Clayton, Missouri, students were warned they would be given detentions for walking out — but they came out in the hundreds anyway.
In Washington, a crowd in the thousands gathered, holding signs toward the White House reading "Books Not Bullets" and "Fire Politicians, Not Guns."

At the stroke of 10 a.m., the crowd sat down en masse, their backs to the White House, and then stayed silent for 17 minutes. Afterward, some marched to Capitol Hill to meet with legislators.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts was among a handful of Democratic lawmakers to greet student speakers.

"The NRA has held Congress hostage for so many years now," Warren told MSNBC. "These young people are here to set us free."
In Parkland, the crowd cheered as students exited the high school and gathered in the center of the football field. Some onlookers yelled "We love you!" to the students.
Harrison Sanclemente, 42, of Parkland, held up a white sign with black letters saying "Support our kids."
"All they’re asking for is safety. It should be a no-brainer,” he said.

After the walkout, a 17-minute prayer service was held at a local park.
Anahelena Natera brought her 9-year-old daughter, Ella, who knows Stoneman Douglas students from her drama camp, where many are counselors.
Natera said she sees the student-counselors "as friends and I see them as role models — and what role models to have. They're amazing."
Heather Taylor, 15, a freshman at Stoneman Douglas who was in the building during the shooting, said Wednesday that she was glad the community had been galvanized by the tragedy.

"I just hope we can get better gun control. I hope that happens," she said. "I hope people see we’re really trying and we’re not going to stop."

#LGBTQ 2 High School coaches were suspended after LGBTQ charity basketball game!
Two high school coaches were suspended after appearing at a charity basketball game that raised money for the LGBTQ community.

Saunders High School varsity basketball coach Anthony Nicodemo allowed his team to participate in a January charity game against rival Somers to raise money for GLSEN, a nonprofit organization for LGBTQ youth. The game was not sanctioned by the state.

The one-game suspension for Nicodemo and Somers head coach Chris Dicintio boils down to paperwork, according to Section 1. But Nicodemo, who is openly gay, says past charity games have never been a problem.
"To not be there to lead my student athletes onto the court, it's heartbreaking, and it's wrong," Nicodemo says. "You have an event that embraces inclusion, that embraces diversity, that's what you choose to go after? People are going to question it."

The New York State United Teachers union has come to the coaches' defense, saying it suspects discrimination in the disciplinary actions and that it urges the state to overturn its decision. GLSEN and former NBA player Jason Collins have tweeted their support.
Also among the supporters is Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano.
"I completely support the coach," Spano says. "I think what he has done here in Yonkers has been remarkable."
Section 1 tells News 12 in a statement that it "fully supports the 'Pride on the Court' message and is proud that two of our schools stepped up to be involved. Hopefully, next year, authorization will be sought, and will be gladly granted, to any teams seeking to play in the same event."

Still, Nicodemo says he's not convinced that discrimination played no role in the suspension.

"You want to say, let's hope it's not homophobia, but the bottom line is, I know the world we live in," he says.
