#RHoA: Why Kandi Burruss Thinks Kim Zolciak and Kenya Moore's Latest 'RHOA' Fight Was 'Unnecessary'
Although "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Kandi Burruss was not present to witness Kenya Moore accuse Kim Zolciak of "pimping out" daughter Brielle Biermann during their latest explosive fight, she thinks the entire exchange was "very unnecessary."

During a recent interview with the website TooFab, Kandi said she watched the drama unfold on TV like the rest of us and thought Kim shouldn't have made comments about Kenya's marriage because Kenya has a tendency to "hit below the belt." Kenya's response to Kim claiming her husband, Marc Daly, "didn't exist" was: "Worry about pimping your daughter out, bitch."
"I thought it was very unnecessary," Kandi told TooFab of the feud. "I don't feel like Kim should've even been coming at Kenya because Kenya's one of those types of people that, if you come for her, she's gonna give it to you, and she can sometimes hit below the belt a little bit. At the end of the day, if you set yourself up for it, what do you expect?

Kandi added that she doesn't "ever see them being friends again any time soon."
Another storyline this season is NeNe Leakes' drama with Porsha Williams that sparked after NeNe told Andy Cohen during an interview that she didn't think Porsha should be part of the franchise.

But Kandi doesn't think either one is to blame, telling TooFab, "They both have said things about each other, and I guess they just have to decide if they're gonna keep saying things about each other. They've both taken jabs at each other at different times. Who cares about going back through every moment they said something about the other? They just have to decide if they're gonna be cool."
Kandi's been relatively of out of all the drama so far this season, and she said -- for the most part -- that that won't change.

"Praise the Lord!" she said laughing. "I'm not really as involved in the drama. I feel like I had enough drama last season to last me a good while, so I wasn't as into it this year."
During Season 9's explosive finale, Kandi confronted Phaedra Parks about her role in spreading a vicious rape rumor she had been combating all season long. The rumor was that she and her husband, Todd Tucker, said they wanted to drug Porsha to take advantage of her. Porsha revealed during the reunion that she first heard about the rumor from Phaedra, who claimed she heard it from Kandi firsthand. Phaedra was subsequently fired from the Bravo reality show.

"The Real Housewives of Atlanta" airs Sundays on Bravo.

#EMPIRE: Recap: Andre Makes A Heartbreaking Discovery About Pam
Remember how Jamal beat down Warren on last week’s episode of Empire? Now he faces assault, battery, disturbing the peace and destruction of private property. Thirsty is on the case to keep Jamal out of jail, but they have to find Warren first in order to make this work. The Lyons realize that Diana is trying to sabotage the Lyon Brothers by striking them in the heart, where it hurts the worst, and they vow to get revenge. It’s good to see them back in the game, albeit late. Anyway, Dre is the only brother who is seemingly unscathed for now so Cookie, Thirsty and Lucious ask him if there’s anything they Dubois family could use against him, like, did he meet anyone new? Dre claims there’s nothing, but they remind him that he did say he had a new girlfriend he wanted them to meet. You know, the cop. He’s trying to play it off like he can’t get caught up, but we know that Diana Dubois is a crafty one.
Here she is plotting her next move: Cookie pays Diana a visit to seemingly give her back the engagement ring she got from Angelo (it’s a Dubois family heirloom). Cookie tosses the ring in the street when Diana prepares to grab it and then runs away. Thirsty is taking photos of this and we’re all wondering what’s happening.
Later on it turns out that Cookie made the scene so that Thirsty could scout how many bodyguards Diana had to dirt on them. Hold that thought.

Dre confronts Pamela and demands to know if she’s working for Diana. This doesn’t go well at all. Remember, she confided in him that she killed someone and rigged the scene of the crime so he should trust her. She walks away from him pissed off. He’s left sitting at a table in a restaurant (al fresco) knocking glasses off a table because he’s upset that he may have ruined his chances with her. Thirsty was watching this (from afar) the entire time. He can’t hear the exchange, but obviously, he knows something is up. He calls Lucious to report the details and they head over to talk to Dre as soon as Lucious gets there. Lucious, still being semi less evil than he used to be and still speaking with that funny voice, asks Dre if everything is ok. Dre reveals that he was seeing a cop and that he’s now heartbroken. Dre storms off and Thirsty is five steps ahead of everyone because already doing his research on this Pamela PD person. Props to Thirsty for his loyalty and due diligence. Not all heroes wear capes.

Cookie figures out where Warren is holed up (because he’s still recovering from his beat down), which bodyguard is on duty (this goes back to that earlier stunt) and get him out of the way to get down to business. Cookie shows points a gun at Warren and gets the goods. Basically, Cookie tells Warren he better go to the precinct and tell them he threw the first punch. Warren says he’ll do it to clear Jamal’s name and because he loves Jamal. Cookie is side-eying that, but it doesn’t stop her from getting the drop on what Diana has planned for Dre.
It’s incredibly wicked, by the way. Diana compromised Dre’s therapist. The therapist was literally messing with his head and misprescribing medication so that it messes with Dre’s head.

They ask if he said things that might compromise the family and he claims he told him that he couldn’t perform sexually and that’s it. Hopefully, that’s it. In the meantime, he obviously gets a new therapist, but it might be too late.

Cut to the end of the episode. Pamela stops by Jamal’s place with the gun she used to kill that boy as further evidence. She’s just trying to show him that he can put her in jail if necessary as a way to prove that she has been honest and that the guilt is killing her and that never understand what that feels like to walk around with the fact that you murdered someone on your heart. Dre says he does know what that kind of guilt could and reveals…

Hold that thought because we cut to the next scene! Thirsty shows up to Cookie and Lucious he can’t find anything on Pamela because she doesn’t exist! They call Dre but he doesn’t pick up because he’s too busy snitching on himself. Yup, he tells Pamela that he tried to kill his father then she snaps. She claims she’s actually Vegas Metro PD and that she’s been after Dre for a while. She calls him an idiot and generally starts berating the crap of out him. Then she points a gun at him and tells him he’s under arrest but he’s not having it. They get into a struggle and then chokes her to death. Lucious and Cookie get to the house and find Dre distraught and hysterical. He says he didn’t mean to kill her and that she’s a cop.

But here’s the twist, Pamela never existed. Cookie and Lucious tell Dre there’s no body there. There’s nothing there, no gunshot in the window from the scuffle. Nothing. Dre starts flashing back to all the moments that he “saw” Pamela only to realize he made her up. Remember those meds he was on?

Dre was having some sort of episode. In other words, Diana won, at least for now.
Next week the tables might turn, but it all depends on the details Warren gave Cookie and how the Lyons play the game.

P.S. Dre really needs to catch a break, for once.

Beyonce surprises, presents Colin Kaepernick with Muhammad Ali Legacy Award
Once again, Colin Kaepernick was the story of the night. But this time, he had a little help from a friend.
Beyonce made a surprise appearance to honor Kaepernick with the Muhammad Ali Legacy Award during the 2017 Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year Awards.

Introduced by Daily Show host Trevor Noah as "a friend who admired Colin Kaepernick so much she asked me to sneak her in," the artist praised the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback for his courage to open what she called an important conversation about race in America.
"Thank you, Colin Kaepernick," the 22-time Grammy winner said. "Thank you for your selfless heart. And your conviction. Thank you for your personal sacrifice. Colin took action with no fear of consequences or repercussions, only hope to change the world for the better."
"I don't know I could've asked for a better introduction," Kaepernick said afterwards.
Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt and Astros second baseman José Altuve collected the SI Sportsperson of the Year Award, but it was Kaepernick who won the night.
Sports Illustrated renamed the award in 2015 as a tribute to Ali. Its mission is to "celebrate individuals whose dedication to the ideals of sportsmanship has spanned decades and whose career in athletics has directly or indirectly impacted the world."

Noah paid tribute to Ali and Kaepernick in his presentation, drawing comparisons between the two men, saying it was "what Ali did outside the ring that made him a legend."
"When Kaepernick took a knee during the national anthem to protest police brutality, no one could have predicted how that one action inspired a national conversation about race," Noah said. "He's faced consequences for his courage. He's been sidelined by the NFL, labeled un-American, and even been attacked by the president."

After accepting the award from Beyonce, Kaepernick said he was humbled to follow in the footsteps of a man whose legacy, he says, paved the way for his protest.
"I am using my platform to protest systematic oppression, racial injustice, and the dire consequences of anti-blackness in America." Kaepernick said. "America is not living up to what America professes to be."
In his speech, which spanned about five minutes and was well-received by a crowd of about 500 at the Barclays Center, Kaepernick only once mentioned the NFL, where he remains without a team after leaving the 49ers before this season.
"I accept this award not for myself, but on behalf of the people," he said. "With or without the NFL's platform, I will continue to work for the people."

Kaepernick has done just that. Last season, when he was playing for the 49ers, he became the first NFL player to kneel during the national anthem to bring attention to racial inequality and police brutality.
This year, hundreds of players followed suit, inducing the ire of President Trump.
Finally, Kaepernick praised the next generation of athletes, saying that it warms his heart to see young people taking a stand on important cultural issues.
One of those next-generation athletes, 10-year-old Maxwell "Bunchie" Young, was among those in the crowd.

The aspiring football player was awarded the SI Kids SportsKid of the Year award, and during the event, named Kaepernick as his number one idol on the red carpet ahead of the event.
"Colin Kaepernick is a big inspiration to me," Young said. "He stands up for equal rights and he won't let anybody tell him what he can't do."
Former winners of the award include: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Bill Russell, Jack Nicklaus and Jim Brown.

The show airs Friday (NBC Sports Network,8 p.m. ET.)
Kaepernick, who is a finalist for the Time person of the year, which will be announced Wednesday, also received an award from the ACLU on Sunday.

Keisha Lance Bottoms Declares Victory In Atlanta Mayoral Race As Her Opponent Demands A Recount
Atlanta has a new mayor-elect, and it's a Black woman for the second time in the city's history.
Democratic candidate Keisha Lance Bottoms emerged victorious on December 5, following a tense mayoral race that ended with a difference of just over 700 votes, according to the latest election results reported by the Associated Press. As expected, the race came down to the wire as Bottoms went head to head at the polls against 65-year-old Mary Norwood, who ran as an Independent and would have been the city's first White, female mayor had she won instead.
A proud HBCU graduate, 47-year-old Bottoms was met with cheers from her supporters as she took to the podium at her celebration rally to share a few worlds amid news of her victory.

"For all the little girls out there, who need somebody to believe that you're better than your circumstances, I want you all to remember that Black Girl Magic is real," Bottoms said. "And across this city, we got Black Girl Magic, we got Black Boy Magic, we got White Girl Magic, we got White Boy Magic, we have Brown Girl Magic, Brown boy Magic and everything in between. This is a city for all of us and I'm so honored to be your 60th mayor."

Due to Bottoms winning the race by a margin of less than 1 percent, Norwood immediately called for a recount of the vote once the results were announced, noting that absentee ballots from military members still had yet to be included in the final count. The provisional ballots will reportedly be counted and added to the final vote total on Thursday.

While the race may be far from over for Norwood, Bottoms holding the title as the second Black woman mayor of Atlanta is very much a reality for her.

Minnesota Senator Al Franken resigns Amid Sexual Misconduct ALLEGATIONS!
Facing a string of sexual misconduct allegations and mounting pressure from fellow Democrats, Sen. Al Franken announced Thursday he will leave office in the coming weeks. But Franken, a former comedian, didn't go down without taking some scathing parting shots at President Donald Trump and Republicans who have been accused of similar actions.

"I, of all people, am aware that there is some irony that I am leaving while a man who has bragged on tape about his history of sexual assault sits in the Oval Office, and a man who has preyed on underage girls is running for the Senate with the full support of his party," Franken, D-Minn., said in emotional speech on the Senate floor.

He was referring to Trump, who has also been accused of sexual misconduct, and Roy Moore, the Republican candidate for Senate in Alabama, who has faced allegations of sexual misconduct with teenage girls. Trump and Moore have both denied the claims.
"Today, I am announcing that in the coming weeks, I will be resigning as a member of the United States Senate," Franken said, the day after Democratic women led the charge of 35 Democratic senators who called on their embattled colleague to step down. It was also days after Rep. John Conyers, a Michigan Democrat who was also accused of sexual misconduct, resigned under pressure.

In his speech, Franken, a former "Saturday Night Live" comic who made an improbable journey to become a leading liberal voice in the Senate, denied "some" of the allegations against him while saying he remembered others "very differently."

Franken argued that he had "earned a reputation as someone who respects the women I work alongside every day," but that a "very different picture of me" had emerged over the last few weeks.
He explained that as women came forward recently with allegations against men in Hollywood and in the media, he "felt we had entered an important moment in the history of this country" and "were finally beginning to listen to women about the ways in which men's actions affected them."

But when "the conversation turned to" him suddenly, Franken said he was "shocked" and "upset."
Franken, a two-term senator, said that, in responding to the accusations against him, he "wanted to be respectful of that broader conversation, because all women deserve to be heard and their experiences taken seriously."
"I think that was the right thing to do. I also think it gave some people the false impression that I was admitting to doing things that, in fact, I haven't done," he added.

A spokesman for Franken said the senator had not yet determined when his last day would be.
As Franken spoke, many of the Democratic women in the Senate who said Wednesday that it was time for the lawmaker to go — including Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, Claire McCaskill of Missouri and Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin — looked on, appearing visibly upset.

Just a day earlier, it was Gillibrand's Facebook post that set off a cascade of calls for Franken's resignation, first by her female colleagues, and later, by senators, male and female, across both parties.
Leeann Tweeden, a Los Angeles radio news anchor, was the first woman to come forward with accusations against him. Last month, she claimed that during a 2006 USO tour Franken — who was not yet elected to the Senate — forcibly kissed her while they rehearsed a skit together and later groped her on a plane. An alarming photograph backed up her accusation.
After Tweeden told her story, several more women come forward to allege that Franken had groped them in public settings, prompting Franken to issue an apology as well as support a Senate Ethics Committee inquiry into his behavior.

"I’ve learned from recent stories that in some of those encounters, I crossed a line for some women — and I know that any number is too many. Some women have found my greetings or embraces for a hug or photo inappropriate, and I respect their feelings about that," he said at the time.
But a Politico report Wednesday morning was the beginning of the end for Franken's colleagues. In it, a former congressional aide to the senator said he tried to forcibly kiss her in 2006, saying, "It's my right as an entertainer." Franken denied the account, which has not been verified by NBC News, but by the end of the day, dozens of senators, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, had issued statements calling for his ouster.

Minnesota's governor, Mark Dayton, a Democrat, has the power to appoint Franken's replacement, who would serve until the next statewide general election in November 2018. Dayton said Thursday that he will announce his decision on who will replace Franken in the Senate "in the next couple of days."

Sam Smith played “Plead the Fifth” on Watch What Happens Live! on Monday (December 5), and was asked about Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift‘s feud, which may have been reignited.
“Taylor Swift, I don’t know her too well. It’s been made out that we know each other, but I don’t know her too well. We’ve only met five times briefly.”
When Andy said he went to Taylor‘s birthday party, he replied. “Yeah, but, I think a lot of people went. I got asked to go and it was great, but I didn’t get to chat one-on-one with her.”

Sam then said he knows Kim better: “I know Kim more than I know Taylor…so, yea.”
“So you’re kind of Team Kim in this?” Andy said, to which Sam responded, “Well, there’s no teams is there, really?”

“I’d love to know all the details [of the feud]!” Sam said!

Terry Crews Sues Agent Adam Venit For Sexual Assault, Celebs Voice Their Support
Terry Crews is taking his power back by taking the agent who groped him to court.
The “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” star is suing Adam Venit for sexual assault.
The news of the lawsuit comes on the heels of Adam being allowed to return to work amid the sexual misconduct allegations against him.
Via TMZ: The actor has already filed a police report claiming sexual assault and our law enforcement sources say that the investigation is ongoing.

In the lawsuit, Crews says Venit stared at him “like a rabid dog, sticking his tongue in and out of his mouth provocatively.” Crews said after the alleged assault he pushed Venit away, and turned to Adam Sandler yelling, “Adam, come get your boy! He’s grabbing my nuts.”

Crews says on his way home from the event Adam Sandler called and asked if he was ok, and Crews responded that he was surprised he got molested at age 48. He says Sandler expressed shock at Venit’s behavior.
He says the next day he called his agent at William Morris Endeavor — the same agency where Venit works — telling him of the alleged assault. A few hours later, Crews says Venit called him and apologized, claiming he was just not himself that night.

Crews says he met with WME’s chairman Ari Emanuel, who apologized for Venit’s behavior. Crews says he told Emanuel he feared retaliation, but Emanuel said Venit “did not have that level of power despite his title as head of the Motion Picture Department.”
Crews says he’s suffered psychologically and says he has never felt more emasculated and objectified. He says he worries about Venit’s power in the industry and hurting his career.

Terry Crews also shared this tidbit via Twitter:
God don’t like ugly.

RHoA’s Kandi Burruss To Star In ‘Chicago’
CONGRATS to “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kandi Burruss. The Grammy winning singer-songwriter will be making her Broadway debut in the long-running musical, “CHICAGO.”

According to Playbill, Burruss will take on the role of the vivacious Matron “Mama” Morton beginning January 15 through March 11, 2018 at the Ambassador Theatre.
“CHICAGO” is a satire on corruption in the administration of criminal justice and the concept of the “celebrity criminal.” The musical currently stars Tony nominee Charlotte d’Amboise as Roxie Hart, Olivier winner Leigh Zimmerman as Velma Kelly, Todrick Hall (through January 14) as Billy Flynn, Raymond Bokhour as Amos Hart, LaVon Fisher-Wilson as Matron “Mama” Morton, and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.

Burruss is no stranger to musical theatre. If you remember, she and her husband, Todd Tucker, presented the stage production, “A Mother’s Love.” The show was loosely based on Kandi’s rise to superstardom with the R&B group Xscape.

#MeToo Movement Is Person Of The Year, 'Time' Says
It has created a wave of awareness and brave confrontations over sexual harassment and assault, taking down powerful men in the process. And now the #MeToo movement has been named Time magazine's Person of the Year for 2017.
On its cover, Time called the people behind the movement "The Silence Breakers." Its story features women and men who have spoken out — including activist Tarana Burke, who started the hashtag 10 years ago.
Time magazine says the women who shared stories about sexual harassment and abuse through the #metoo campaign — the "silence breakers" — are its Person of the Year.
Time magazine
#MeToo rose to prominence as a social media campaign in the wake of high-profile accusations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. After actress Alyssa Milano popularized the hashtag, thousands of women began sharing their stories about the pervasive damage wrought by sexual harassment and by "open secrets" about abuse.

The movement's empowering reach could be seen in the platform on which Time announced its choice: the Today show. It was just one week ago that NBC fired the morning program's longtime and powerful co-host, Matt Lauer, over a detailed complaint of "inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace."
While the most high-profile #MeToo stories have come from women and men who work in the movies and media, the Time article also features women who work hourly jobs, some of whom want to remain anonymous. The magazine's cover portrait includes strawberry picker Isabel Pascual, lobbyist Adama Iwu and former Uber engineer Susan Fowler along with Ashley Judd and Taylor Swift.

"The reckoning appears to have sprung up overnight. But it has actually been simmering for years, decades, centuries," Time's Stephanie Zacharek, Eliana Dockterman and Haley Sweetland Edwards write. "Women have had it with bosses and coworkers who not only cross boundaries but don't even seem to know that boundaries exist."
Marking a possible cultural shift back in October, NPR's Sarah McCammon quoted associate professor Lisa Huebner saying of #MeToo, "It helps a lot of people individually, I think, and it also will help us to mark publicly that this is a widespread occurrence, and it's not OK."

The shortlist of candidates for the distinction included:

The Dreamers
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos
Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un
Protest leader Colin Kaepernick
Special counsel Robert Mueller
Chinese President Xi Jinping
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia
President Trump

Time also conducted a reader poll, which the magazine says was won by Mohammed bin Salman, with 24 percent of the votes. Second place went to the #MeToo movement, followed by a three-way tie among Kaepernick, Mueller and the Dreamers.

In the magazine's tally, Trump was the runner-up.
The final decision comes weeks after Trump — who was named Person of the Year in 2016 — said he "took a pass" on being named again in 2017. Trump, who had called it "a tremendous honor" to win last year, said the magazine had been in touch to say he would "probably" win.

The president's comment prompted Time to clarify, "The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year. TIME does not comment on our choice until publication, which is December 6."
