There are many reasons why we love Niecy Nash: she’s beautiful, talented and always keeps it real. All reasons why we are thrilled to see her gracing the cover of ESSENCE’s 2017 September issue. While many may pick up the magazine just to see her in that yellow dress alone, personally, we want to know what kind of #BlackGirlMagic the 47-year-old actress will be sharing in her profile story.
“I define success as happiness because you can have all the worldly trappings but if you have not figured out how to be happy in those things, how to have peace in those things, then you gain so much but in the end have so little.” Niecy shared on the ESSENCE "Behind the Cover" video.
Neicy knew she wanted to be “Black, fabulous, and on TV!” since being five years old and seeing the beautifully talented Lola Falana on the small screen. Niecy is surely following in Ms. Falana's footsteps. Amazing!

“If you look at my track record, ‘She saw her mother get shot. She buried her only brother. She went through a horrible divorce. She lost her church.’ And to look at [my life], in many ways that does feel like a Cinderella story,” Nash told ESSENCE.
...To sharing how she overcame being typecasted:
“For a long time, the industry was polite, but they were like, ‘Dear, you have a lane. You do broad comedy. Stay over there,'" she said. "I had to be a lady in waiting and bide my time until they started to recognize. My first time doing dramatic work garnered me back-to-back Emmy nominations...You've got to figure out how to get your do-over."

Nene Leakes is killing it in a bright pink babydoll that has many applauding her stunning figure.
This week, the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star made her two million Instagram followers extremely happy with a handful of pictures.
In the photos, Leakes looks like she was about to make her loving husband and best friend, Gregg Leakes, very happy.
The former “Glee” actress dazzled in a loose-fitting nightgown that featured a bra-like top which revealed a lot of cleavage.
The business mogul had her long honey gold hair in a simple yet chic ponytail.
Leakes had on perfect makeup and completed the look with a pair of backless high heels.
The television host used her captions to say there is something special on the way.
She said: #lifeoftheleakes #nitesattheleakes #somethingspeacialisontheway.”
The fashion designer added: “It’s getting late #nitesattheleakes #somethingspecialiscoming.”
The photos received thousands of likes and hundreds of comments from her supporters.
A few of them wanted to know if the nightwear was part of her fashion line and many others complimented her physique.

#EMPIRE: MAC's Latest Taraji P. Henson Collection Is Gold, Glittery, and Glamorous
We literally gasped when we saw Taraji P. Henson's latest campaign for MAC. That hair! Those cheekbones! She absolutely nails the '70s, Diana Ross-esque aesthetic. While we can't exactly replicate her god-given glow, we can soon copy the makeup she's wearing thanks to her latest MAC collection.
On Sept. 7, her second collaboration with MAC Viva Glam launches: a copper-pearl lipstick and golden-bronze, glittery lipglass. It's the metallic lip dreams are made of when worn together. As with all Viva Glam goods, 100 percent of the proceeds are donated toward helping women, men, and children affected by HIV/AIDs. Her first collection, launched alongside her Empire co-star Jussie Smollett, debuted last February and included a pink lipstick and pink glitter lipglass.

#HIPHOPNEWS: Gucci Mane Announces New Album ‘Mr. Davis’
Guwop don’t stop. Just four months after releasing DropTopWop, Gucci Mane is set to drop Mr. Davis, his fourth project in the past year.
The 17-track set is loaded with superstar guests including The Weeknd (“Curve”), Big Sean (“Changed”), Monica (“We Ride”), ScHoolboy Q (“Lil Story”), and A$AP Rocky (“Jumped Out the Whip”). Chris Brown also guests on the previously-released “Tone It Down,” while Nicki Minaj lends a hand on “Make Love.”
Along with the album announcement, the prolific Guwop has unveiled the silhouetted cover art and unleashed his Migos collaboration “I Get the Bag,” which finds him boasting about his supreme status.
“I won’t even come out the house for free / I pay a ni**a to drive for me / JAY-Z couldn’t even co-sign for me,” raps Gucci. “I do what I want ’cause I’m signed to me.”

What’s even more special is the baby is due on March 1, which is Alan Thicke‘s birthday.

Blac Chyna and Mechie Call it Quits After Less Than Two Months
After nearly two months, Blac Chyna has officially kicked Mechie to the curb.
According to TMZ, the two got into a huge argument on Monday over Mechie’s behavior on social media. Sources close to the reality star say that she is sick and tired of Mechie’s constant flirting with other women, so she gave him the boot.
Lucky for Chyna, a fresh break up makes for good music. Sources say Chyna went straight to the booth after the couples big blow up to let off some steam.
Although the two have called it quits for now, TMZ says Mechie is still trying to win Chyna back.

ABC has ordered a live-action adaption of the classic cartoon series.
via EW: Based on the Hanna-Barbera characters, this updated multi-camera sitcom is set 100 years in the future and looks at America’s favorite future family through a modern filter.
The network has given a put pilot order — meaning it’ll likely go to series or there will be penalties attached — for the project from writer Gary Janetti, who will executive produce with Robert Zebecks, Jack Rapke, and co-executive producer Jackie Levine. Nickleby, Inc. and Compari Entertainment are attached in association with Warner Bros. Television.
The sci-fi cartoon originally debuted on ABC in 1962, was revived in 1984, and also aired in syndication.

The Movie “Girls Trip” has passed The $100 Million At Box Office!
Universal’s hit summer comedy – Girls Trip – is crossing $100M at the domestic box office today (August 17th), according to a report. The Malcolm D. Lee directed film starred Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Tiffany Haddish and Jada Pinkett Smith and followed four old college friends who travel to Essence Fest in order to reconnect. It is producer Will Packer’s third title to cross $100M after Ride Along and Straight Outta Compton.
As of August 15, 2017, Girls Trip has grossed $98.8 million in the United States and Canada and $8.4 million in other territories for a total gross of $107.2 million, against a net production budget of $19 million.
Girls Trip opened on July 21, 2017, alongside Dunkirk and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, and was projected to gross around $20 million from 2,583 theaters, with industry experts saying it could debut as high as $30 million. It made $11.7 million on its first day, including $1.7 million from Thursday night previews at 2,195 theaters. The film grossed $31.2 million in its opening weekend, finishing second at the box office behind Dunkirk and marked the largest opening of director Malcolm D. Lee’s career. In its second week the film dropped just 37% and grossed $19.6 million, finishing 3rd at the box office behind Dunkirk and newcomer The Emoji Movie,[21] and in its third week the film made $11.4 million, finishing 4th.
Ezekiel Elliott’s Accuser Admitted to Discussing Extortion Plot With Friend
Just one day after #EzekielElliott officially appealed his six-game suspension for his offseason behavior, a new report has surfaced claiming Elliott’s accuser admitted to trying to extort the baller.
According to reports back in 2016, Elliott’s ex and accuser, Tiffany Thompson, reportedly sent text messages to a friend about selling sex tapes of Elliott and herself. The friend then encouraged Thompson, saying that explicit tapes could be used as blackmail, which prompted Thompson to respond, “I want to bro.”
The text messages were collected as part of the year-long NFL investigation into the alleged incident, where Thompson accused Elliott of abusing her multiple times.
In the 160-page report prepared by NFL investigators, Thompson reportedly admitted registering an email address called “ezekielelliott sex vids” in August, one month after the text exchange. But, she denied creating it to blackmail the baller. However, photo evidence of bruises that appeared during the week Thompson was rooming with Elliott were reportedly enough for the league to conclude that Elliott committed domestic violence.
In any case, the NFLPA has used the evidence to question the accusers motive and credibility.
