The Daily Buzz For June 2

Superstar Kevin Hart talks to ‘Variety’ says he wants to be the Oprah of Comedy!
Here’s an excerpt From Kevin Harts interview with ‘Variety’!
Stop trying to get Kevin Hart to eat another french fry! It was an impulse order. Hart tried to change to a kale salad, only to be sweet-talked into indulging by the waitress at the Matador Room, one of those chic Miami eateries where the walls are alabaster and the trellises adorned with climbing bougainvillea. After inhaling four or five fistfuls of golden fries, Hart insists he’s done. He hands the plate to the bodyguard sitting at a nearby table, but each time the waitress walks by, she plops more savory potatoes in front of him.
“Goddamn, don’t bring them back over here,” Hart cries in mock exasperation. Finally, he grabs a glass of water and dumps it on the fries.

“That’s how you stop yourself,” he declares. Then turning to his bodyguard, Hart points to the bowl of drowning fries and says with a cackle, ‘I watered them up, so you can go f— yourself.’”
Hart is a man of discipline. If you track his movements on social media — and with 32.7 million Twitter followers and 51.5 million Instagram fans, many do — you know he’s a physical fitness junkie. He rises every morning at 5:30 to hit the gym, and last August he ran 35 miles in a relay that took him from Mount Hood to the Oregon coast. He routinely shares pictures of himself in mid-crunch or hoisting barbells in the air.

“You can’t expect to give 100% if you’re not in a physical place to give 100%,” says Hart, 37.
Right now, the actor and comedian is arguably the hardest-working person in show business. He’s appeared in nearly a dozen movies since 2013, many of them in leading roles and most of them box office hits. That’s to say nothing of the grueling stand-up tours that put him on the road for weeks at a time. The animated film “Captain Underpants,” featuring Hart’s voice, debuts in theaters June 2, and in December he headlines “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” alongside Dwayne Johnson and Jack Black. He recently wrapped “Untouchable,” a dramatic comedy with Bryan Cranston that will open in 2018.
Working with Hart on the “Jumanji” sequel motivated Black to step up his own acting. “I raised my game a couple of notches out of the intimidation factor,” says Black. “He’s a king of the industry. I’ve done a lot of movies, but when someone is on fire, at the peak of their powers, you feel like you have to earn your spot.”
As if he didn’t have enough going on, Hart is also about to become a published author. “I Can’t Make This Up: Life Lessons,” his first book, hits stores June 6. In his stand-up act, Hart’s comedy draws from personal experiences, delving into the cheating that torpedoed his first marriage or his hardscrabble youth growing up in North Philadelphia. Onstage, stories about his alcoholic and drug-addicted father are played for laughs.

In print, Hart gets real.
“People get to see the comedic persona, but there’s more to me,” Hart says. “This is a story that can be told, and I chose to tell it. It’s funny, but there are serious components to it.”

Kevin Darnell Hart was born on July 6, 1979 to Nancy Hart, a single mother, and brought up in one of the toughest sections of the City of Brotherly Love. His father, Henry Witherspoon, missed much of Hart’s childhood. He was in and out of jail, and an addict. The drugs, and escalating parental screw-ups, such as the time Witherspoon dropped Hart off at the wrong school, caused his mom to limit his visits.

“We come from a f—ed-up situation,” says Robert Hart, Kevin’s older brother. “We come from the worst living conditions.”
When Hart performs stand-up, he treats his father as a jester, arriving coked up to cheer his son at spelling bees or giving his kids another family’s dog when they wanted a puppy. But there was a darker side to Witherspoon. In the book, Hart recounts how his father broke into his mother’s house to steal money. Another time, he robbed Robert Hart’s barbershop and crashed his car.

“He didn’t escape any of it — jail, drugs, addictions, ruining your family to a point where my mom didn’t want me and my brother to be around him,” Hart says. “Seeing the stuff firsthand. Seeing the reality behind drugs and addiction, and what it can really do to a person, that’s why I don’t do drugs. I learned what I shouldn’t be doing from what my dad did.”

Hart says his father is now sober and the two have reconciled. At some point, Hart decided it was important for his two young children, Heaven and Hendrix, to know their grandfather.

#RHoA: Apollo Nida Wants the Prenup With Phaedra Parks Updated To Reflect her ‘RHOA’ Earnings
A divorce do-over is in the works for “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Phaeda Parks and her estranged husband Apollo Nida.
In April, there were reports that the Southern Belle is seriously concerned about enforcing the prenup Apollo signed a few days before they got married in 2009 in the new divorce filing. Phaedra wants the prenup enforced; however Apollo is singing a different tune.

Apollo, who’s currently serving an eight-year prison sentence, has filed documents asking the court to throw out the previous prenup. Why? Well, the prenup he signed doesn’t reflect Phaedra’s “RHOA” earnings since he signed before she started getting the reality show checks and he gunning for what he believes he’s rightfully owed.
According to TMZ, the newly engaged Apollo says Phaedra’s coinage has drastically changed and he wants that taken into consideration when it’s time to split up everything in the divorce. We can’t say we didn’t see this coming.
Of course he’s going to try and get everything he can, especially considering his current situation, being locked up and all.

Now, they're just playing the waiting game to see how the judge will rule. We'll keep you posted.

#EMPIRE: Here’s a little Tea on Demi Moore’s role on Next season on EMPIRE!
This season that just ended Demi Moore's character had been kept under wraps. But everyone’s trying to see how she will fair next season. Well Ilene Chaiken one of the bosses behind the show spoke to The Hollywood Reporter and said this, First and foremost, we wanted somebody alluring and mysterious who felt like a match for Lucious and Cookie, and I'm not saying this as a love triangle, but this certainly is a triangular relationship that she would challenge each of them in a way that neither of them has ever been challenged before. What we know and what we can say is that she is going to be an integral part of the family dynamics, as Lucious will be heavily dependent upon her and entwined in some kind of a relationship with her that already promises to be a little twisted.

Sounds good doesn’t it?

#NEWMUSIC FROM August Alsina – Don’t Matter
A day after revealing to the world that he is suffering from liver disease, August Alsina returns with his brand new single, “Don’t Matter.”
The acoustic guitar led track carries a carefree, brighter vibe than the three previous tracks he released earlier this year. Coming in under three minutes, Alsina sings out to a love interest who has him addicted like drugs, which fittingly is the title of his forthcoming third studio album.
“I be knocking down the walls every time you make that call / You be changing all your plans / Plus you calling me your man,” he sings. “You got something I can feel baby / Yea, it’s been so long, I’ve been having withdraws.”

While the R&B singer is expected to release his new album this year, August recently sat down for a personal interview with his friend, Jada Pinkett-Smith. During their conversation he surprised fans by revealing that he suffers from a serious liver illness. “I have a liver disease, where my auto-immune system is fighting against itself,” he said. “The reality is that I’m sick all the time. I don’t really like to talk about because I’m not looking for anybody’s sympathy.”

The full interview hasn’t been released yet, nor has a date been announced for his new album, but the singer is expected to hit the road on his “Don’t Matter Tour,” kicking off July 27 in San Antonio, TX.

Gucci Rips off Legendary Black Harlem Designer Dapper Dan!
We’re all aware that cultural appropriation is alive and well.  Borrowing from Black art, music and culture is a faux pas committed by many, from Miley Cyrus to Justin Bieber.

So fashionistas everywhere were quick to point out that Gucci’s new Resort/Cruise 2018 collection includes some pieces that are incredibly similar to Harlem based designer Daniel Day, better known as Dapper Dan.
It’s particularly upsetting given that Gucci was praised for their celebration of diversity, featuring all Black models and dancers in their pre-Fall 2017 campaign.
It’s hard to deny the photographic evidence as fashion editor, Lindsay R. Peoples posted side by side pics on her Instagram account.
Dapper Dan was huge in the 80’s and 90’s and anyone familiar with his work would immediately recognize the fur bomber jacket with enormous logo printed puffed sleeves as a total rip off. Dan used the Louis Vuitton logo and Gucci replaced it with their own.
When creative director, Alessandro Michele was asked about the Resort/Cruise 2018 line inspiration he listed the Mediterranean, Greek and Roman cultures and Los Angeles as influences.  But oddly enough, no mention of Dapper Dan.
Dan has dressed A-listers in the Hip Hop game for years, including LL Cool J, Sean P. Diddy Combs and Busta Rhymes in his unique, logo laden creations.
Due to his unlawful use of major fashion house logos, Dapper Dan was targeted for copyright infringement, and his shop was shut down in 1992.

Dan still designs for private clients and even Louis Vuitton listed him as an inspiration behind a collaboration they did with popular shoe brand Supreme.  If only Gucci had done the same then we’d be Gucci.

LeBron James Responds To Being Victim Of a Hate Crime
Lebron James just had his home in Los Angeles defaced with N-word Graffiti.  According to USA Today, multiple LAPD units responded this morning when neighbors saw the word scrawled on the outer gate. It was covered up until it can be properly cleaned off.

The NBA star bought the house back in 2015, but does not live there on a regular basis.  He was not home when his house was targeted.
Lebron responded during a press conference saying “No matter how much money you have no matter how famous you are, no matter how many people admire you, being black in America is tough.”
He also referenced the Mother of Emmitt Till. Emmitt was a 14 year old black teen brutally murdered as a result of a hate crime back in 1955. Stating that this experience reminded him of why she held an open casket funeral- to remind everyone of what he son went through as a victim of a hate crime.

Full Statement:
“On my behalf and my family’s behalf, I look at it like this: if this is going to shed a light and continue the conversation … then I’m OK with it,” James said. “My family is safe … and that’s the most important. Just goes to show that racism will always be a part of the world, a part of America. Hate in America for African-Americans is living every day, even though it’s concealed most of the time.”
“And I think back to Emmett Till’s mom, actually,” James said of the African-American teenager who was lynched in Mississippi in the 1950s. “One of the things I thought of, one of the reasons she had an open casket, was because she wanted to show the world what her son went through as far as a hate crime, being black in America.”

“No matter how much money you have, no matter how famous you are, no matter how many people admire you, being black in America is tough,” he said. “We got a long way to go, for us as a society, and for us as African-Americans, until we feel equal in America.”

LAPD detectives are investigating and going over security cameras in the neighborhood. We hope they catch these sickos.

#OMG: Noose Found Inside Smithsonian’s African-American Museum
#Roommates, we as a society have got to do better! A noose was found Wednesday in the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C.
To make matters worse, the noose was found in the segregation section of the history galleries, according to CBS News.

NMAAHC Founding Director Lonnie Bunch released a statement saying:
“The noose has long represented a deplorable act of cowardice and depravity—a symbol of extreme violence for African Americans. Today’s incident is a painful reminder of the challenges that African Americans continue to face.”
He continued,
“Our museum is a place of learning and solace, a place to remember, to reflect and to engage in important discussions that help change America. This was a horrible act, but it is a stark reminder of why our work is so important."
This is still an ongoing investigation we will keep you posted.
