The Daily Buzz For June 15

Chrissy Teigen for Marie Claire - July 2017 Talks About Her Sex Life with John, Expanding Her Family and More
Chrissy Teigen is one of the most honest stars in Hollywood. She’s openly told the world about everything from her painful battle with postpartum depression to getting liposuction on her armpits. But even Teigen’s over-sharing nature has its limits (sorta). She just revealed there’s one part of her body she prefers to keep to herself — even from husband of three years John Legend. (Warning: Her confession is totally TMI.)

“John and I had a double date, and we were joking around, and I go, ‘John’s never seen my butthole.’ And John says, ‘Are you kidding? Every time anyone does anything doggy style, you see a butthole. I see it every time.’ I was like, ‘We are never doing it doggy style again,'” Teigen told Marie Claire in her July 2017 cover story with the magazine.

Despite being loved by many for her tell-it-like-it-is attitude, Teigen told Marie Claire growing up, her honesty would sometimes backfire.
“I’m the person who had the fake ID in high school and college, and I would shout and be like, ‘I’m sorry; its fake,’ and run off,” she said. “I don’t know if it’s way too honest or way too anxious – maybe it’s a combo of both.”
The mom to 1-year-old daughter Luna also opens up about expanding her family in her interview with Marie Claire, saying she sees a lot of children in their future.
“I would definitely adopt or have foster children. But I loved being pregnant,” she shared. “Maybe I should be scared [of having PPD again], but I don’t know. It couldn’t be any worse than it was – could it?”

As for her fitness routine, the cookbook author reveals that she’s unlike most stars who spend hours hitting the gym and abiding by strict diet plans, she has a more low-key approach to exercise.
“I know I should exercise for mental reasons…I need to see Simone De La Rue; I always feel great after I see her,” she said. Her reason for not getting there as much as she should? Teigen blames the horrible Los Angeles traffic.

“In L.A., there’s never any f—ing parking. So for someone who doesn’t already love working out, nothing’s selling you on it,” she told the magazine.
But don’t expect to see her at any group dance workout classes anytime soon. Or Dancing with the Stars for that matter! “I can’t dance. I don’t take choreography very well,” Teigen said. “[But] I will twerk!”

#RHoA: YAWN! NeNe confirmsd she’s back for Season 10 of RHoA!
She’s baaack! NeNe Leakes confirmed via Twitter on Wednesday, June 14, that she’s returning to Real Housewives of Atlanta for the upcoming season 10.
“It's been a long process but we've finally reached an agreement! All hail the Queen for season 10 of #RHOA @bravotv #thethreatisback,” Leakes tweeted.

She will appear “in a majority of the season’s episodes,” quotes a source close to the show.
The reality star, 49, made a brief return during season 8 after Cynthia Bailey arranged a reunion to reunite with her pal, mending their strained relationship.

Leakes left the series after seven seasons in 2015 and has since made a name for herself off Bravo. Leakes has appeared in The New Normal, The Celebrity Apprentice and Dancing With the Stars season 8, where she was eliminated 5th after competing with pro partner Tony Dovolani. She also made a name for herself during her Broadway debut as Madame in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella in 2014, and in 2015 as Matron "Mama" Morton in Chicago.

Leakes’ former BFF turned nemesis Kim Zolciak is also set to return to the hit Bravo show for season 10. It’s unclear if Zolciak, who also appears on her own show Don’t Be Tardy, will sign on as a full-time housewife or just make appearances.

Bravo has yet to announce a premiere date.

#EMPIRE: How Doyle From 'Gilmore Girls' Came Up With The Idea For 'Empire'
"Empire" is easily one of the most progressive network shows on television. It's been a pioneer in bringing (almost all) black actors to lead roles while setting new standards in LGBT and mental health representation. So, when you imagine the face behind it, Doyle from "Gilmore Girls" (a.k.a. Danny Strong) is an unlikely image.
"He's the voice of black America," Amy Sherman-Palladino said sarcastically during the "Gilmore Girls" reunion at the ATX Television Festival on June 6. "The community finally found someone to speak for them: Danny Strong!"

Strong laughed politely from across the stage. Although, during an interview with The Huffington Post at the Roaring Fork restaurant in Austin, he bristled when asked about how he checks his privilege in crafting these characters.
"I write characters of every race, gender and sexual orientation. I write some characters that are animals. That's just my job," he said, grimacing as he looked up from his phone. "To me, writing 'Empire' is not more difficult than Sarah Palin [in 'Game Change']. ... I mean, I'm not a Republican from Alaska."

As a middle-aged white man from Manhattan Beach, Strong doesn't directly address any specific challenges of building authority or credibility in creating a series about aspects of the black experience, let alone writing the fictional roles that portray them. Instead, when he talks about the tasks of writing for "Empire," Strong mentions only transitioning mediums.
"It's difficult writing episode after episode, as opposed to a self-contained movie," Strong said. "I don't really know what was the most challenging. It's all the same process for me."

The reality is there are straight, white men behind the overwhelming majority of TV shows. Still, it's a bit unsettling to hear how Strong came up with "Empire." The show is so groundbreaking, series writer Wendy Calhoun said during ATX, that she was warned: "If ['Empire'] fails, they're not going to let another all-black show on television for 20 years." And yet the idea is credited to a white guy realizing he likes hip-hop.
"It's so random how it came about," Strong told moderator Jarett Wieselman during the "Empire" panel. "I was driving in a car in Los Angeles ... and there was a story on the radio about Puffy and some deal that he closed. I don't remember what the news story was, but hearing the news story, I thought, 'Hip-hop is so cool! I wanna do something with hip-hop!' That was literally my mind set."
Strong started writing when he was 25, after he'd spent some time as Jonathan Levinson on "Buffy" and before he landed the role of Paris Geller's boyfriend and budding journalist Doyle on "Gilmore Girls." Hoping for a lead role, he wrote a film for himself to star in. It was a dark comedy about two guys who try to kill an old man to get his rent-controlled apartment. Nothing came of it, but he liked the process so much he decided to pursue a career separate from acting.

His first actual writing job came with "Recount," a film which met detractors citing his roles on "Buffy" and "Gilmore Girls." "It was just what people used when they wanted to attack the movie," Strong said, clarifying that, for the most part, his primetime character acting has been a non-issue in finding writing jobs.

"In the writing community, if it's on the page they're into it," he added. "You have proof of your abilities, or lack of, with the script. So, having the acting background didn't hinder me at all."
Strong, who turned 41 the day of the "Gilmore Girls" reunion at ATX, has now gone on to work on several major projects including crafting the screenplay for both of the "Hunger Games: Mockingjay" movies and, more importantly, "The Butler," which led Strong to work with Lee Daniels and eventually partner with him on "Empire."

Strong explained that he originally thought of the show as a movie "with a father who was a Jay-Z-Puffy-esque hip-hop mogul" and then applied Shakespearian archetypes to the narrative. "The whole concept flooded into my head in about 30 seconds," he said.
He was in post-production on "The Butler" at the time and decided to pitch the idea to Daniels as a musical movie, noting he "had it mostly worked out" by the time Daniels was on board. Daniels liked the idea, but thought it would work better as a TV show.

"We instantly started talking about 'Dynasty' and 'Dallas,' and if we could do a black 'Dynasty,'" he said. "So the only thing that's pretty interesting about this is that literally 'Empire' was created from every single first idea that happened spontaneously. So, it was, 'We should do it as a TV show!' "Yeah, we like 'Dynasty'!' 'Yeah, that's what I was thinking, like, a black 'Dynasty'!'"

Strong mentioned that he had since "done research" to be able to represent the black community. But inevitably, there are certain things he must address when his perspective feels, at the very least, out of place.
One such example popped up during the aforementioned panel, when Strong addressed Terrence Howard's comments that "Empire" characters "don’t say n--" on the show. "It's not a documentary about hip-hop," he said. "It's a soap opera that takes place in the hip-hop world."

It's clear the saving grace comes is the writer's room, an area where Daniels has been proudly vocal about diversity (most recently pressuring his peers to consider the range of their staffs during a panel conducted by The Hollywood Reporter).

While Strong is a straight, white man, perhaps best known in the mainstream for running the Yale Daily News, his concept for such a powerful black show is brought to life by a diverse group of people behind the scenes. There is a wide range of voices working on each script. And, as Wieselman noted, with the exception of one (written and directed by Strong), every episode has been credited to a writer or director of color, sometimes both.

"Is it diversity when it's almost entirely African Americans?" Strong asked (to silence from the audience).
"It is mind-blowing," Calhoun chimed in. "You have to understand, for me, up until 'Empire' I was usually the only black writer in the room for the most part. So, for years, I was carrying that torch."

"It really sunk in for me, because I started to realize that we were really able to get into the nuance of our culture," she said. "We were no longer just talking about the surface of our culture that I think many people know and are familiar with, because that's kind of all they hear about. We were able to get really down into it, because we were so familiar with it."

#NEWMUSICVIDEO from Keke Palmer Feat. Quavo – Wind Up
The talented artist/actress has debuted the dance-heavy music video for her bouncy new single “Wind Up” featuring Quavo (of Migos).
Opening with a performance setting in front of an audience, Keke and her troupe deliver vicious choreographed moves, as she flexes some commanding lyrics about bossing up.

Palmer also addresses her own rise to success, letting any haters know they can leave that mess at the door.
“All the way to California in the caravan / It was me and my momma, my muthafuckin’ fam / From the gutta / So you mad that I came up?,” she raps. “Wind up / Tell them old bitches line up, line up / ‘Fore I put her in a grinder, grinder / All my boss bitches wind up, wind up.”
Quavo appears through a digitalized effect adding two verses on which he brags about his new girl. “She don’t do this often / But she know it’s poppin’ / I’m going to find her / Found her on an island / She looks like she’s from China / Her best friend’s a stylist,” he raps.

Last year, Palmer dropped her deeply personal EP Lauren. Now, she’s prepping her new album, along with more film projects.

“It’s like I’m at the studio with Michael,” he brags. “You can hear me dancing on the beat / Bam Bam ’bout to put a mansion on the beach.”

#WTF?!? John Singleton Wanted Tupac Jail Rape Scene In ‘All Eyez On Me’
Grab your Jesus Take the wheel prayer cloths and let us PRAY on this one!

All Eyez On Me producer L.T. Hutton finally gave the scoop on why John Singleton pulled out of the project.
Initially, they kept it cute and blamed it on “creative differences,” but we had no idea how serious those differences actually were.
During his “Breakfast Club” interview on Wednesday, L.T. said John wanted to open the film with Tupac pressuring a white woman to have anal sex.
But, wait! There’s more…L.T. said there was another scene where John wanted to show Pac getting raped in jail.
There’s still more…the icing on the cake was when L.T. Hutton said John Singleton also wanted a scene in the film with Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, engaged in a threesome!

I’m not even going to get into him having Tupac talking to his severed head….

All Eyez On Me hits theaters this Friday, June 16. Do you plan to go see it?

TERROR AT THE BASEBALL FIELD! GOP Whip Steve Scalise, Others Shot At Early Morning Baseball Practice
The shooter has died from his injuries, the president said.

WASHINGTON ― A lone gunman opened fire on a group of Republican lawmakers practicing for a congressional baseball game early Wednesday in Alexandria, Virginia.

Six people were injured in the attack, including two congressmen, two police officers, a congressional aide and a lobbyist. The assailant, who authorities have identified as 66-year-old James T. Hodgkinson of Belleville, Illinois, was shot by police and later died of his injuries at a local hospital.
House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) underwent surgery at MedStar Washington Hospital Center after being shot in the hip and remained in critical condition. Scalise was “in good spirits and spoke to his wife by phone” ahead of the surgery, his office said.
Crystal Griner and David Bailey, two U.S. Capitol Police officers who were injured, are in stable condition, according to Chief Matthew R. Verderosa.
Zachary Barth, a staffer for Rep. Roger Williams (R-Texas), was shot in the leg. He was transported to a local hospital and has since been released. Williams sustained a minor leg injury.
Matt Mika, director of government relations for Tyson Foods’ Washington, D.C., office, was also among those shot. “He has been taken to a local hospital and we’re awaiting word on his condition,” the company said in a statement.

The attack took place shortly after 7 a.m. at Eugene Simpson Stadium Park, less than 8 miles south of the White House. U.S. Capitol Police officers assigned to Scalise engaged Hodgkinson in gunfire, and Alexandria Police responded soon after. “At that point, we were able to calm the situation, and victims were transported to the hospital,” Verderosa said.
The FBI is actively investigating Hodgkinson and his potential motivations and the ATF is running a trace on two weapons, including a rifle and a handgun.

It’s too early to determine whether the attack was politically motivated, authorities said.

Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-Vt.) confirmed on Wednesday that Hodgkinson had volunteered for his presidential campaign. “Let me be as clear as I can be. Violence of any kind is unacceptable in our society and I condemn this action in the strongest possible terms,” Sanders said in a statement.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who was also at the practice, told MSNBC that Scalise crawled through the dirt, bleeding, to get away from the shooter. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) told reporters that he used his belt as a tourniquet to stop a staffer’s bleeding.

Paul said that a number of aides were lying down during the attack as the shooter fired bullets their way.
A broken window on a vehicle is seen outside Eugene Simpson Stadium Park, where the shooting took place.
Paul told CNN that “nobody would’ve survived” had Capitol Police not been there.
“It would’ve been a massacre without them,” he said.
Noah Nathan, 47, lives in a nearby apartment building and was at the dog park when the shooting took place. He said he heard at least 30 shots and got down on the ground, but couldn’t see the shooter. “There’s no place I could go,” he said.

The members were practicing for the Congressional Baseball Game, a Washington, D.C., tradition dating back to 1909. The event pits Republicans against Democrats and raises funds for area nonprofits, including the Washington Literacy Center, the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington and the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation. This year’s game is scheduled for Thursday night.
