The Daily Buzz For June 13

James Corden wins Man of the Year at the 2017Glamour Awards
He was presented with the award by Liam Payne, who revealed some very funny stories about his long-time friend.
During his acceptance speech, James thanked GLAMOUR for being the first magazine to interview him and publish his work. The 2010 GLAMOUR Awards was also his first ever presenting gig - the start of an incredible career move which has seen him crack America as the host of The Late Late Show.

"I was thinking today that when I hosted this thing, it was the first thing I'd ever hosted in my life. And I remember thinking afterwards, 'I rather enjoyed that', and now that is part of my life and I'm very, very honoured to be back here."
He went on to thank a huge list of women including his wife Julia Carey, his daughter, mum, sister and Gavin & Stacey's Ruth Jones.
James also spoke about wearing Dior's iconic feminist t-shirt on the cover of GLAMOUR's July 2017 issue.

"The truth is, wearing that t-shirt on that magazine, it didn't even occur to me that it would be anything that would even be considered as brave, because I don't think it should be. I long for the day when it isn't a time where we talk about women's rights or equality or any of those things, and it would just be a matter of fact of the world that we're living in."

#RHoA: Oh? Star Jones sees her Feud with NeNe Leakes a little differently
NeNe Leakes and Star Jones famously have huge personalities. So when these two ended up on The Celebrity Apprentice together in 2011, they found themselves in one of the fiercest feuds we've ever seen on TV.

Fast-forward six years, and we still haven't forgotten about this celeb drama. But have NeNe and Star? Well, when Star was asked if NeNe had ever apologized to her for what went down on The Celebrity Apprentice during Sunday night's Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen After Show, she made it seem like the hatchet had been buried long ago with The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum. "Well, we were in competition. She didn't need to apologize to me," Star told Andy Cohen her take on their beef. "I mean, it was television. We were working to try to win money for a charity. I won $175,000 for the American Heart Association. Not a big deal."

In fact, NeNe expressed that there were no hard feelings between her and Star back in 2011. “I don’t hate her, I don’t know anybody that I hate,” she told ESSENCE.com. “Star is Star. I wish her all the best.”

Star Jones: NeNe isn't on my Level. But Star can't say the same for Lisa Rinna, who also appeared on The Celebrity Apprentice with Star and NeNe. Andy mentioned to Star that she and Lisa "were not exactly BFs, either," to which she replied, "I need the tea cup," reaching for a swig of tea. If that's not shade, we don't know what is.

NeNe's showdown with Star wasn't the first time she came at odds with a former co-host of The View. The RHOA alum experienced an awkward visit to the daytime talk show with some visible tension between her and Joy Behar and Raven-Symoné. Raven later apologized for any shady behavior NeNe may have felt.

#EMPIRE: ‘Empire’s’ Trai Byers and Grace Gealey show off wedding photos
More than a year after their nuptials, “Empire” co-stars Trai Byers and wife Grace Gealey finally released their wedding photos from April 2016.
The couple, who met and fell in love on the set of the blockbuster drama series, got married in the glitzy Caribbean island of Grand Cayman. Some of the cast members were among the wedding party of about 50 people.

Byers, 33, plays Andre Lyon, the eldest son and assumed heir apparent to the Lyons musical empire headed by patriarch Lucious Lyons (played by Terrence Howard). But like Fredo Corleone of The Godfather, however, Andre Lyon was passed over to take the reins of the musical company in favor of the younger son, Jamal (played by Jussie Smollett). Ever since, Byers’ character has plotted against his father to take control of the empire.
Gracey Gealey, 32, portrays Anika Calhoun, who has had sexual relations with Lucious Lyons and is inextricably intertwined within the intrigue and drama of “Empire.”

The show is currently in its third season and is averaging a 2.8 and 7.8 million viewers per episode.
Byers and Gealey are all smiles in the snapshot he posted along with the caption, “We’re married! God is so good. To all who have extended congrats and well wishes, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Love, Mr. & Mrs. Byers.”

The caption under the above photo reads: “Not our anniversary (it was last month) but it IS the official launch of our wedding photos! We are so honored to grace the very first cover of the brand new ‘Cayman Vows’ magazine and to finally share snippets of our special day. All moments were captured by the incomparable local talents of @dgp345 and @rebeccadavidsonphotography. Out on stands this week in Grand Cayman and next month in Canada + the USA! ❤️”

It remains to be seen if the couple’s work will impact their marriage and vice versa as Byers’ and Gealey’s characters are involved with other characters on the show (even romantically). But so far, so good, and fans wish the couple the best.

#NEWMUSICVIDEO from The Weeknd – Secrets
The Weeknd takes viewers into a world of wonder in his artistic new video for “Secrets.”
The eerie Pedro Martin-Calero-directed visuals highlight each angle as the Canadian singer is filmed in an architectural masterpiece of a hotel.  Riding a rounded elevator, walking through the lobby, split through glass reflections, the pop superstar appears almost invisible.

A woman, who stars as his love interest, in seen writhing over a transforming white bed as some spooky men look on. Abel has his own moments of creepy staring, while the woman is seen with another man, but is it supposed to be him? Or is he projecting his fantasies of being with her?
The video leaves you wondering if there are multiple underlining plots and scenarios. But, keeping in line with his previous visuals, the Starboy cross appears at the end. Abel walks through the snow outside peering up at the giant floating crucifix and the screen goes dark.

The Weeknd will close out the U.S. leg of his “Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour” on June 17 in Dover, Delaware, and then take the trek back to Europe.

#HIPHOPNEWS: Remy Ma Unites Female Rappers, Disses Nicki Minaj At Summer Jam
(Via Rap-UP) Remy Ma brought “U.N.I.T.Y.” and “shETHER” to Hot 97’s annual Summer Jam.
In the middle of her hit-filled set at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium on Sunday (June 11), the Bronx rapper delivered one of the event’s most powerful moments, when she unified generations of female MCs on stage.

Remy started by bringing Cardi B out for an amped-up rendition of “Foreva.” Young M.A. (“OOOUUU”) and Lil’ Kim (“Quiet Storm (Remix)”) soon followed with show-stopping performances of their own.

As if that wasn’t enough, Reminisce brought MC Lyte, Monie Love, Rah Digga, and The Lady of Rage to the stage before Queen Latifah performed her classic “U.N.I.T.Y.” single.
But the peace and love of that moment was quickly followed by a war-ready Remy. After her fellow MCs left the stage, the Bronx bomber unleashed “shETHER,” her scathing Nicki Minaj diss track, with her nemesis on the now-infamous Summer Jam screen.
During the performance, Remy stopped the “Ether” instrumental to emphasize her Nicki barbs. “Some real motherfuckin’ queens just came out here,” she said. “To be the queen of rap, you gotta actually rap / The whole industry know, bitch, your shit is a wrap.” Following her closing line, Remy left the stage with an emphatic mic drop.

WATCH HERE

As usual, Summer Jam was a star-studded event. It also featured performances by Chris Brown, DJ Khaled, French Montana, Trey Songz, A$AP Rocky, Juelz Santana, 2 Chainz, Quavo, DMX, and Fat Joe. Jidenna, Desiigner, Joey Bada$$, Tory Lanez, Dave East, Lil Yachty, and many more also made appearances.

The night closed with a special tribute to The Notorious B.I.G., who died 20 years ago. The performance was led by his widow Faith Evans, and featured appearances by Lil’ Cease, Total, 112, Ma$e, The Lox, Lil’ Kim, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony.

Nick Gordon Appears In Court In Domestic Violence Case
Nick Gordon’s life continues in a fiery downward spiral. Gordon, who was recently found responsible for the death of the late Bobbi Kristina, appeared in court over the weekend after allegedly beating up his girlfriend, Laura Leal.
Leal and Gordon got into an altercation in Florida on Saturday and according to the police report, Leal claims he “unlawfully committed domestic battery by hitting and punching her in the face and the back of the head with a closed fist.”
Per the report, “Gordon stated that he never hit his girlfriend because really cares for her. Gordon also advised that he is the one that was abused and punished. Gordon stated that Laura Leal hit and punched him repeatedly. Gordon stated that Laura Leal is not telling the truth and wishes to press charges on her.”

After taking Gordon into custody, a judge set his bail for $15,500 and ordered him to wear a GPS monitor and to stay far away from Leal. Nick is due back in court in August.

According to the documents, the pair got into an argument after watching the Game 4 of the NBA finals on Friday night. “Leal advised that Gordon was upset because he thought she was trying to hook up with one of his friends,” the report stated. “Leal stated that she would never give Gordon a reason to be suspicious or jealous about being with another man. Leal stated her feelings for Gordon are real but added that the relationship was toxic. Leal says that Gordon wanted her to be honest about wanting to hook up with his friend, but Leal advised when she told Gordon she would never do that to him, he didn’t believe her.”
The report continued, “Leal says that Gordon gave her an option to leave, but advised that when she tried to exercise that option, Gordon became upset and violent punching and hitting her and refused to let her leave. Leal stated that while attempting to leave and communicate with her sister on the computer via Facebook, Gordon took the lap top computer preventing her from communicating with her sister. Leal advised that a few weeks ago Gordon smashed her phone so she had no phone, and says that Gordon then hid his personal cell phone in order to further prevent communication for help.”

That’s when Laura apparently ran to Gordon’s mother, who advised her to get out. After reaching out to her sister for assistance, police were called and Nick was arrested.
Nick, who was officially ordered to pay $36 million to the family for the death of Bobbi Kristina, could have had a much different life.
Gordon was brought in by Whitney Houston when he was just a young boy and was considered a son to the late singer. He grew close with the family and had resources right at the tip of his fingers.
So where did things go wrong? How could a man with ample opportunity become responsible for killing his sister, rather at the time, alleged wife, and now, accused of beating up his girlfriend?

Is Gordon done for good? Will the man, who has admitted to being addicted to drugs, ever live a live of love and compassion?

The REAL Xscape Reality Show will be Headed to Bravo.

Xscape slams TV One’s biopic and will be working with Mona Scott Young on an official biopic.

“We are excited to join forces with Mona Scott-Young and Monami Entertainment to bring the real Xscape story to the world,” said Xscape in a statement. “This partnership will allow us to tell our story about our lives the way we lived it. It’s our truth about the rise, the fall, and the return of Xscape. We feel the recent announcement of an unauthorized biopic on our lives is disrespectful and disappointing. We are not, in any way, participating in that project and it will never ‘represent’ our true story.”

According to reports the ladies are currently filming their doc-u-series that will air on Bravo in November following the premier of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Mona Scott-Young will serve as executive producer

Steve Harvey Wife demands that he has no women on his staff in LA?
Last month news leaked that Steve Harvey fired his entire Chicago talk show crew before making the jump to L.A.
Did Steve's wife make him get rid of all the women on his staff...?

“Steve only wants men to work closely with him because Marjorie (his wife) gets super jealous and rightfully so,” an ex–staffer tells Straight Shuter.
“Steve had a women executive producer for his show in Chicago and now he has fired her and hired a man to be in charge of the new show in LA. It’s a boys club.”

Colton Haynes Lost His Virginity at 13
Colton Haynes sat down for an interview with Andy Cohen for his SiriusXM radio show and talked about when he lost his virginity.

“I lost my virginity at 13 to a girl and a guy,” the 28-year-old Arrow star said. He later indicated that it was not a threesome, and that the encounters were separate. “I’ve never said that before. The girl was two years older than me, and the guy was, I would say, around 16. … Everyone participated. It was a real first time. It was exciting.”
Andy also questioned if he had ever had a threesome, to which he responded, “We’ve all had them, but it wasn’t that time.”

Colton also revealed he had slept with both men and women throughout high school and has slept with a total of four women in his life.
Colton came out in May of 2016 and is now engaged to Jeff Leatham. Colton was told when he moved to Hollywood, “[I] was literally told from the day that I moved to Los Angeles that I could not be gay because I wouldn’t get work.”
