#RHoA: Phaedra Parks And Apollo Nida Divorce Do-Over May Be Messy!
Phaedra Parks thought she was done with Apollo Nida when she revealed during Season 9 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta that her divorce was finalized. Soon after, Apollo learned that he was divorced and disputed the filing putting the estranged RHOA couple back at square one. TMZ reported that Phaedra still believes Apollo won’t get any more money from her since they had an iron-clad prenup.

Apollo learned of the divorce through his friends who are still on the show and quickly contested Phaedra’s filing. To the surprise of everyone, a judge sided with Nida and declared the divorce a dud due to several filing mistakes, including Phaedra’s intentional misspelling of Apollo’s last name and the fact that he claimed he was never served paperwork in prison.
At the Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 9 reunion show, Phaedra Parks doubled down on her divorce claims and said that she did finalize the divorce. She also showed paperwork to prove it, but we all know that despite having the final decree in her hand, the judge still decided that her filing wasn’t correct and she still had to fix it. On top of that, Phaedra claimed to have already paid Apollo the $100,000 that she owed him after the divorce was final.

Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida both signed a prenup, but the kicker is that it was signed just nine days before the RHOA couple got married. In it, both Phaedra and Apollo waived their right to spousal support in the event that they were to divorce. Apparently, the prenup also dictates that both Phaedra and Apollo would leave the marriage with precisely what they brought into it.
Okay, so here’s where and why Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida’s actual divorce could get pretty messy and Apollo could actually end up with more money than Phaedra wanted to give up. For starters, when Phaedra and Apollo signed the prenup, they agreed to split their assets based on who had what at the time of their marriage. At that point, Phaedra was not an RHOA star yet. She joined the Bravo cast in 2010 and brought Apollo Nida along with her. While Phaedra was the peach holder, Apollo was still featured on the show and Phaedra wouldn’t have had a storyline without him.

In addition, Phaedra Parks could have a tough time enforcing the prenup because of the date that it was signed. It’s always advisable to get the prenup out of the way roughly 60 days ahead of the wedding. Due to the fact that it was signed just nine days before Phaedra and Apollo got married means that it could have been rushed. Apollo could actually claim that he was pressured to sign the paperwork and didn’t really understand what it said. If a judge sides with him on that, it could open Phaedra’s bank accounts up so that Apollo walks away with much more than $100,000.

Georgia, where Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida lived, is an “equitable distribution state.” That means if a judge throws out the prenup, everything that Phaedra and Apollo acquired during their marriage would be divided between them. Property that was brought into the marriage would be given back to the initial owner but anything they acquired together would be divided. Depending on the wording in the prenup, that still may be the case for Phaedra and Apollo.

#EMPIRE: Serayah Talks To Elle Magazine: Television Is So Much More Diverse Right Now
But that doesn't mean we can stop working on it.

In Empire, she's talented singer Tiana Brown—one of our favorites in the soapy record-label show. But, for Serayah, while the show is definitely a blast, it's about way more than just unpredictable family drama and her insane on-screen wardrobe. Empire—which also stars Bryshere Y. Gray as Tiana's on/off love Hakeem, Jussie Smollett as Hakeem's brother Jamal, and Taraji P. Henson as her manager Cookie—is relatable in important ways, despite its high-stakes glamour.

"It tells a lot of stories inside of the show that connect with people in regular everyday life," she told ELLE.com at the Wearable Art Gala in Los Angeles. "Whether you're married with kids, your son or daughter is gay, you live in the hood and there's drugs, or someone you know has been locked up for your whole life—things like that connect with people."

One of the factors that makes Empire so vital, Serayah thinks, is its African American cast and characters. And she's glad it's not alone on the small screen. "There's so much more diversity now," she said. "There are a lot more shows, like Black-ish, that are empowering African American casts as a whole. I feel like that's a great start. Honestly, I'm excited with where television and film is going." While that's not to say the industry can't do more, the actress said there's a lot to be hopeful about: "As much as we're in a world and an America that we do need to work on, there's a lot more people on the train of being good to each other, so that's what I'm excited about."

As Empire heads toward its third season finale, Serayah isn't giving away where it's going. "I don't know anything," she said, smiling. "Of course, there's drama." Meanwhile, she's putting out her own album this summer, title TBD. "Right now I'm thinking self-titled, but I don't know."

OOOPS TEA SPILLS? Kelly Ripa Did NOT Want To Hire Ryan Seacrest As Cohost
Maybe Michael Strahan was in such a rush to get away from Kelly Ripa, he didn’t realize how much extra money he was running from. Now, Kelly is laughing all the way to the bank!
Kelly Ripa shocked fans with her ecstatic announcement on Monday that Ryan Seacrest was signing on as the long-awaited cohost of her hit morning show, Live!

But according to RadarOnline.com they’ve reveal that the 46-year-old’s big smile was all a front, as the A-list host and producer, 42, was NOT her first choice.
The decision to hire Seacrest was “ultimately [ABC president] Ben Sherwood’s call,” a well-connected network insider revealed. Meanwhile, the difficult Ripa “preferred someone less well-known.”
“She wanted someone that she could boss around, and that isn’t Ryan,” the source continued. “He’s as big of a star as she is!”

As fans know, Ripa has been hosting the popular ABC show solo for about a year — since her former cohost, Michael Strahan, infamously quit last April and left the mother of three in a rage.

Jimmy Kimmel Reveals Newborn Son Underwent Heart Surgery in Emotional Monologue
Jimmy Kimmel revealed during his late-night monologue on Monday May 1, that his newborn son underwent open heart surgery shortly after he was born on April 21.
It was the first time Kimmel opened up about his baby boy, William "Billy" John Kimmel. Three hours after his birth, doctors noticed that he had a heart murmur and appeared purple in color. It was diagnosed as "tetralogy of fallot with pulmonary atresia," which is when the pulmonary valve is blocked and there is a hole in the heart wall.
"On Monday morning, Dr. Vaughn Starnes opened his chest and fixed one of the two defects in his heart. He went in there with a scalpel and did some kind of magic that I couldn't even begin to explain," Kimmel said. "He opened the valve, and the operation was a success. It was the longest three hours of my life."
This past weekend, Kimmel and his wife, writer Molly McNearney, were finally able to bring William home to his big sister, 2-year-old Jane.
"He's doing great. He's eating. He's sleeping. He peed on his mother today while she was changing his diaper," Kimmel added. "He's doing all the things that he's supposed to do. This is the best."

There's a DeBarge Biopic In the Works, “All This Love: The DeBarge Family Story”
A biopic about the DeBarge family is in the works. TV One is prepping the project, titled All This Love: The DeBarge Family Story. Set to air Fall 2018, the film will focus on the story the DeBarge family, one of the most popular family groups in American music history, as told by the family matriarch, Etterline Abney.

They stayed together for 21 years before divorcing in 1974. The children claimed that their father sexually abused several of them, which the father denied. We Knew this was coming! The Trump Administration Is Ending Michelle Obama’s ‘Let Girls Learn’ Education Program
Michelle Obama started the ‘Let Girls Learn’ education initiative to help facilitate educational opportunities for girls in developing countries in 2015.

Donald Trump and his administration is now ending it.

via Huffington Post: Michelle Obama launched “Let Girls Learn” in 2015 “to change the perception of the value of girls at the individual, community and institutional levels; foster an enabling environment for adolescent girls’ education; and engage and equip girls to make life decisions and important contributions to society,” the program website states.
Run primarily by the Peace Corps and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), “Let Girls Learn” drew on funding from the private and public sector to promote girls’ education in developing countries around the world. In its two years of existence, the program raised over $1 billion to help girls in over 50 countries.

CNN reported on Monday that it obtained an email which Peace Corps acting director Sheila Crowley sent this week to inform employees that “Let Girls Learn” would be ending, though some elements of the program will continue.

“Moving forward, we will not continue to use the ‘Let Girls Learn’ brand or maintain a stand-alone program,” read the email.

A Peace Corps spokesperson told CNN that the agency will continue to prioritize programming for girls. “Girls’ education and empowerment has been a hallmark of our work over the past 56 years, and we look forward to continuing those efforts with our interagency partners,” the spokesperson said. “We remain dedicated to the passionate work of our volunteers and staff to empower and educate girls in their communities.”

Still, many Twitter users were outraged at the news that “Let Girls Learn” would be no more. Several directed their comments toward the first daughter and assistant to the president, Ivanka Trump, who has maintained throughout her father’s campaign and presidency that he supports women’s empowerment wholeheartedly.
Obama’s former chief of staff, Tina Tchen, told CNN she believes “Let Girls Learn” generated the immense support and name-recognition needed to make a real difference.

“I think it’s unfortunate to not continue with the branded campaign,” she said. “We think that this is an issue that has bipartisan support, it’s really not a Republican or Democratic issue.”

Tchen also noted that President Barack Obama’s administration not only continued but expanded President George W. Bush’s global development program, The President’s Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).

The Obama administration also expanded the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI), which President Bush launched in 2005 to combat malaria in some of the hardest hit parts of the world. First Lady Laura Bush was an active supporter of PMI and PEPFAR and even made several solo trips to promote the global health initiatives.

What an IDIOT!
