The Daily Buzz For March 3

Going to a Bruno Mars Concert? Good, Because He Wants It to Change Your Life
We already know that Bruno Mars is sexy as hell, but it never hurts to be reminded of that fact over and over again. The "24K Magic" singer graces the cover of WSJ magazine's men's fashion issue, and it will make you want to put your Versace (or, you know, your H&M dress) on the floor. In addition to looking so good in the photos, Bruno, who recently wowed the world with his Prince tribute at the Grammys, opens up about everything from his upcoming world tour to his epic Carpool Karaoke session with James Corden.

See his best quotes below.
•On his style: "The style stuff all comes from watching my dad — the pinkie rings, the pompadour, everything. My dad would take me to school in some big, busted-up Cadillac, and he'd be wearing a rhinestone jacket and have his hair all whipped and greased up, flashy glasses, and I was like, 'My dad's not like the other dads at school!' I'd try to get out of the car, zoom out. And now I'm the one driving the busted Cadillac, wearing some gaudy sh*t, and it's what makes me happy."

•On his upcoming world tour: "I want the show to be powerful, because people spent some money on a ticket. I've seen Prince and Michael Jackson; those are nights I will remember forever. I'm not doing my job unless I leave a piece of me everywhere I go — if you do the right show, it will stay with people and they'll tell their kids about it. I hope people can see what I was feeling when I made the records. Then I want to go beyond their expectations and fly."
•On growing up with musical parents: "If you took your kid to school with you every day, and you were studying rocket science, he'd probably be a rocket scientist. So that's just it — my dad and mom took me to work every single day, and I got to see what it's like to entertain an audience. I got to entertain everybody who came to Hawaii — a roomful of people that didn't speak English, from around the world — and to see what music can do, and how it can bring the world together."

•On "24K Magic": "We were trying really hard to tap into the '90s R&B music that we grew up with, and it's a very fine line — it can get tribute-y, it can sound forced. But that New Jack Swing sound brought me so much joy as a kid, so we took that on and did our best to try to get that feeling, that effortless fun. If '24K Magic' is supposed to sound like I'm having the time of my life, you gotta hear me smiling on the record."

•On his Carpool Karaoke session with James Corden: "My biggest memory of that day was that the second it ended, I got a little depressed. Like the last day of vacation, where you're on the plane home and feel sad that it's over. It was so euphoric, I just wanted to do it again. There's a moment at the end of 'Uptown Funk' where we're just sitting there and breathing heavily, and that was real. His commitment was everything — we left it all in the car. I think he's 100 percent on his way to being one of the greats. He has this unquantifiable energy, where you want to watch it and be a part of it somehow."

•On not endorsing random products like other celebrities do: "I just don't want to feel gross. It's as simple as that. I don't want to feel gross, I don't want to regret any decisions. Even if I turn down a sweet check because I don't want to be on that billboard, hawking some shit to the world — I just don't need to do that. Because you get one shot at this. I'm not a model. I'm not an ice skater. I'm not a chef. I'm here to do music. And I want to be able to look back and say, 'Yeah, I did it the way I wanted to do it.' Whether it triumphs or fails, I can live with that."

And so can We!

#RHoA: Porsha Williams Is Filming A Movie In London
Porsha shared the news that she is currently filming a movie in London on her social media accounts. She put up a selfie on Twitter of her getting hair done – and I guess “getting into character.” Porsha seemed pretty pumped, writing, “Morning! In hair and makeup !! Let’s get this movie started!” along with a video camera emoji and a raised hands emoji.

Porsha also posted a video on Instagram she recorded outside of Buckingham palace. She captioned it: “Buckingham Palace. So blessed to be here working on a movie!! I can’t wait to share which film very soon!! #TeamPorsha #Actress”

I guess that hashtag #Actress at the end makes it official, right? I ask as I cannot control my eye roll.

I have no idea what movie Porsha‘s in or what it’s about since she’s pretty much only updated her followers by posting pictures of herself with video camera emojis. But I guess it is working since I am genuinely intrigued.
In the selfie above, Porsha posted herself in full-on glam with the caption: “In London, love and scandal are considered the best sweeteners of tea.”

Now I’m just hoping that Porsha is playing a British character because I would love to see hear her trying to get that accent down. I hate to admit it, but I really am interested in what Porsha is working on. Her social media hints definitely pulled me in and I want the tea. I am eagerly anticipating some clips of Porsha Williams “The Actress.”

DO YOU THINK PORSHA WILL BE A GOOD ACTRESS?....LOL!

#EMPIRE: FAB OR FORGET IT?: Serayah At Vanity Fair’s Toast To Young Hollywood Soiree
Empire actress Serayah has been having a year. From being labeled Generation Noir to showing up dressed to impressed at multiple events, she’s quickly becoming a young star whose style is still developing. Serayah decided to don a little black dress for the Vanity Fair party pairing strappy sandals with her look.

She donned a smoky golden eye and a pink lip. Her nails were in neutral colors of pink and gray. I’m loving the glimmering broaches she donned to jazz up the black midi dress.
She looks elegant; however, for someone her age, I would expect a more fun look. However,Tell us,is Serayah looking FAB or FORGET IT?

Hip Hop News: DMX, Swizz Beatz, Eve, & The LOX Announce Ruff Ryders Reunion Show
Stop! Drop! The Ruff Ryders are about to shut ’em down and open up shop with a special reunion concert and a possible subsequent tour.

DMX, Swizz Beatz, Eve, The LOX, and Drag-On have signed on for the official Double R reunion show, set for April 21 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, celebrating the imprint’s 20th anniversary.
According to The FADER, “a full-blown reunion tour may not be far behind.” If that’s the case, it would be similar to what Diddy pulled off with last year’s “Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour,” which started as a one-night-only celebration for Notorious B.I.G. and continued as a tour with The LOX, Ma$e, Faith Evans, and Lil’ Kim.

DMX was also part of the Bad Boy trek, joining the tour in September of 2016 after making a cameo on opening night. The run eventually led to X’s latest comeback track, “Bane Is Back,” which dropped in January with a little help from Swizz Beatz. Over the weekend, Swizzy also premiered a collaboration with X, Jay Z, Jadakiss, and Nas.

Tickets for the Ruff Ryders reunion show go on sale March 3.

Janet Jackson’s siblings dish on her ‘beautiful’ son ‘Eissa’
Janet Jackson’s siblings are all about the singer’s “beautiful” new son, Eissa.

On Tuesday, Feb. 28, brothers Tito and Jackie appeared on “Good Morning Britain,” where they gave an update on sister Janet and her sweet baby boy. “Janet had a beautiful baby boy. It’s all good,” said Jackie. “Everyone’s fine. Everyone’s great.”

The duo also provided a little insight into how the next generation of Jackson’s may be impacted by their parents’ musical legacy. “I guess it’s in their blood,” continued Jackie, who will be joined by brothers Jermaine and Marlon for a 50th anniversary show in June. “They watched us growing up when they were young. They love the business. If that’s what they want to do, go ahead and do it.”

Previously reported, Jackson and her husband, billionaire and businessman Wissam Al Mana, welcomed their first child, a son Eissa on Tuesday, Jan. 3. 2017. “Janet Jackson and husband Wissam Al Mana are thrilled to welcome their new son Eissa Al Mana into the world,” her rep said in a statement a the time. “Janet had a stress free, healthy delivery and is resting comfortably. No further details are available at this time.”

Considering that in September sources close to Jackson had voiced their concerns over weight gain, which placed the pop icon at risk of developing gestational diabetes — a condition that increases the risk of pre-eclampsia, depression, and possible Caesarean section — a “healthy delivery” was the perfect way to kick off the new year.

Of course, it wasn’t long before loved ones took to social media to celebrate the expansion of the Jackson family dynasty. “How exciting! Jan and Wissam just gave birth to a beautiful baby boy!!! Congratulations!!!,” sister LaToya Jackson tweeted.

“Congrats Auntie!! So so happy for you & Wissam. Enjoy every minute with your greatest hit, Eissa. #parenthoodisthebest,” TJ Jackson penned in a special message of his own via Twitter.

Georgia racists harshly sentenced for terrorizing Black family’s birthday party
Racism is a product of hate; expressing it can now in Georgia be considered a crime.
In Douglas County, Georgia couple Jose Ismael Torres, 26, was sentenced to 20 years (13 to serve in prison) while Kayla Rae Norton, 25, was sentenced to 15 years (six to serve in prison) on Monday, February 27, 2016 for their roles in disrupting a birthday party for an eight-year-old Black boy. They terrorized the family using racial slurs, with Confederate flags and long handle guns in July 2015.

When handing down the sentences, Superior Court Judge William McClain called this a hate crime. “Their actions were motivated by racial hatred.”
Torres and Norton, who have three children together, were among the group of 15 perpetrating the crime that violate Georgia street gang act when they went on a drunken intimidation spree through Douglas and Paulding counties on July 24 and July 25, 2015, in pickup trucks tricked out with Confederate battle flags – a common sight in Georgia’s metro areas.

Georgia’s Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act is defined in part “any organization, association, or group of three or more persons associated in fact, whether formal or informal, which engages in criminal gang activity… “Criminal gang activity” means the commission, attempted commission, conspiracy to commit, or solicitation, coercion, or intimidation of another person to commit any of the following offenses on or after July 1, 2006.”
Torres and Norton were among the gang,  that referred to themselves as “Respect the Flag,” who rode past an eight-year-old’s birthday party in trucks carrying flags, screaming expletives and racial slurs, while threatening to kill them – adults and children. The savage ruse happened the next month after the Charleston church massacre, when Dylann Roof killed nine Christians, a pastor and his parishioners at Mother Emanuel AME Church.
Torres pointed a gun at the famiy. Norton yelled demands and threats. They shouted that they would “kill y’all n––s” while waving the flags.

“I do accept responsibility for what I’ve done,” Norton said tearfully in court to the family. “What happened to you is absolutely awful. From mother to mother, I cannot imagine having to explain what that word means. The worst decision I’ve ever made in my life was to not walk away when I had the chance.”
Norton’s victim, Hyesha Bryant, 34, who attended the party said in court, “I forgive all of you. I don’t have any hate in my heart. Life is too short for that.”
Norton was sentenced on one count of violating Georgia’s street gang act and one count of making terroristic threats.

Torres was sentenced on three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, one count of terroristic threats and one count of violating the street gang act.
Four people were charged with felonies in total. Thomas Charles Summers and Lacey Paul Henderson II, had pleaded guilty to terroristic threat and battery charges, after taking a plea deal. Summers is serving four years in prison and Henderson is serving two.

Douglas County district attorney, Brian Fortner, a white Republican won the indictment of the 15 in October 2015. It marks the first time the Georgia street gang act was used to prosecute a Confederate heritage group in the Deep South.

‘Popping The Question’
Can’t say I’d rank Walmart anywhere near the top of the list of “ideal proposal places”, but perhaps that Rollback sign has sentimental value. L’chaim!
