Prince Harry for Town & Country February 2017
Well, Prince Harry covers the February issue of Town & Country magazine. So far, only a few outlets have these photos. It looks like T&C just bought some of the photos from one of the royal-beat photographers, meaning Harry didn't really pose for a Town & Country editorial. The photos are from his summer trip to Malawi, where he volunteered with an organization called 500 Elephant. Nice.
#RHoA: THIS AGAIN? Porsha tried to OUT Kandi as a Lesbian?
These Girls! On the latest episode of RHoA Porsha and Sheree set up a lunch meeting with Kandi to confront her about their grievances (which, again, were basically that Kandi was sharing information Phaedra had told her back when they were friends). "I just felt like it should have stayed in that space," Porsha argued to Kandi, who said Phaedra was just "running" her mouth. "She throws the rock and then she hides," Kandi added.
Kandi then revealed that Phaedra had also told Porsha about the new man she was seeing before Apollo went to jail. But Porsha just played dumb, arguing she just wanted the "back and forth to be over." She did add, however, that she did not believe Phaedra had an affair before Apollo went to jail.
Kandi left but Sheree and Porsha hung out a while longer. Sheree made a reference to something about Kandi in a closet and Porsha jumped right on, saying, "She was in somebody's closet or still is in one! OK? That's none of my business."
Sheree paused and then asked the camera, "Did you just out Kandi for being a lesbian?" Sheree told Porsha she was just talking about Kandi "peeking through a keyhole" and Porsha said that was also what she meant. Right.
Tell Us: Do you think Porsha just outed Kandi as a lesbian?
Secrets About Star From Jude Demorest, Benjamin Bratt, Amiyah Scott, and Lee Daniels
(Via Glamour) If you haven't watched the sneak preview of Lee Daniels' new drama, Star, then I ask you this: What are you waiting for? The companion series to Daniels' other series—Empire—premiered to strong ratings earlier this month when FOX aired a special preview. And you know what other show debuted in a similar manner from Daniels, airing on FOX, and only continued its rise towards TV dominance? Yep, Empire.
Before Star returns for its official run next month, I paid a visit to the Atlanta set to uncover some fascinating stories behind the scenes. (Including this interview with Queen Latifah about her own journey to stardom.). As Daniels told me during our time together, "I don't think we're prepared for the price that fame pays." His cast—both veterans and newbies—might definitely have something to say about that. Here, 10 secrets we learned from set.
Creator Lee Daniels never calls the actors on his shows by their real name. "Never!" he says. "When I create the character, that's who they are. I [still] call Helen Mirren from Shadowboxer [by the name of her character] 'Rose.' The only person I don't call is Oprah [by the name] 'Gloria' [from The Butler]."
There's a reason why Daniels wanted to cast a "badass white chick" on the show. "Star is sort of a healing," he says. "For me, it was a healing process. She represents someone that can help heal the country in some sick way. I can’t explain it. She’s cool for black people, and she’s cool for white people, and like, how dare a white girl say, ‘You’re a racist, bitch?’ We’re flipping the script!"
How did Daniels know Jude Demorest was the girl to play Star? It all came from a feeling, he says. "[Jude] scared me," Daniels now admits. "She terrified me so much that I told her to her face, ‘I don’t like you.’ Poor thing! What comes out of my mouth during these auditions! It scared [me] that she jumped off the page. To write someone and for her to come in and be that person?! And to know that person as good as I know that person?! She thought I didn’t like her. She didn’t think she had the job. [Laughs] It was scary [for me] because it had never happened to me before."
Benjamin Bratt actually based his character, Jahil, on Lee Daniels. "The second thing Lee shared with me was this character—for as fucked up as he is and as dysfunctional as he might appear on the page—he’s an extension of [Lee]. He said, 'Jahil Rivera is partly drawn from who I am as a young man when I was a manager in Hollywood.' Lee is nothing if not fascinating—what compels him, what drives him, what motivates him. He’s a bit of a mad scientist, really. It can be frustrating working with him because he’s all over the place, but it’s never less than thrilling."
When Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny, and Brittany O'Grady met Bratt, the first thing they wanted to talk about was Miss Congeniality (Bratt played the colleague and love interest to Sandra Bullock's Gracie Hart in the film). "I remember the first time I met them," Bratt recalls. "They walked into the hair and makeup trailer just to say hi to everyone, and went, ‘Oh, cool! You’re the guy from Miss Congeniality!’ Which, of course, is funny, but an indication of the years of difference between us!"

Dick Clark Productions CLAPS Back at Mariah Carey, Calling her claims ‘ABSURD’
Dick Clark Productions has fired back at Mariah Carey, blasting the singer’s accusation that the production company was to blame for her performance problems on Saturday’s “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” telecast on ABC.
Carey spokeswoman Nicole Perna was quoted by Billboard magazine on Sunday saying that producers “set her up to fail.” She asserted that the singer complained of problems with her earpiece before she went live on the show. Carey has blamed technical issues and her inability to hear the music for her failure to complete a planned three-song set on the telecast.
Dick Clark Productions late Sunday issued a lengthy statement challenging Carey’s claims.
“As the premier producer of live television events for nearly 50 years, we pride ourselves on our reputation and long-standing relationships with artists. To suggest that DCP, as producer of music shows including the American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, New Year’s Rockin’ Eve and Academy of Country Music Awards, would ever intentionally compromise the success of any artist is defamatory, outrageous and frankly absurd,” the statement said.
“In very rare instances there are of course technical errors that can occur with live television, however, an initial investigation has indicated that (Dick Clark Productions) had no involvement in the challenges associated with Ms. Carey’s New Year’s Eve performance. We want to be clear that we have the utmost respect for Ms. Carey as an artist and acknowledge her tremendous accomplishments in the industry,” the statement said.
Carey’s awkward appearance on the telecast that drew more than 8 million viewers became a New Year’s Day viral video sensation. The incident fueled speculation that Carey had intended to lip-synch the performance, a claim that Perna told Billboard was “adding insult to injury.”
In a statement, Dick Clark Productions said Mariah’s claims of sabotage are “defamatory,” calling it “outrageous and “absurd.”
Sources are actually blaming Mariah for the bad performance. They told TMZ Mariah refused to do a sound check AND there was ample sound on stage for her to hear the music.
Using words like “defamatory” almost sounds like DCP could possibly be thinking about suing Mariah (and her team) for negative backlash against their brand. They haven’t announced any lawsuits, but this could all be the beginning of one big mess.
George Michael’s Boyfriend Says He Was Hacked Following Suicide Allegations
George Michael’s boyfriend, Fadi Fawaz, is denying claims that he said the late singer had committed suicide.
The hairstylist spoke out after shocking messages that alleged Michael had killed himself surfaced on his personal Twitter account. The tweets, which have since been removed, claimed that “the only thing George wanted is to DIE” and “he tried numbers [sic] of time to kill himself many times… and finally he managed…”
“I am shocked with what’s going on with the Twitter thing,” Fawaz told U.K. paper The Mirror. “My Twitter account has been hacked and closed.”
A a week ago, Fawaz used the social media account to reveal that he was the one who discovered Michael’s body. According to him, he found the 53-year-old dead in bed when he went over to Michael’s Oxfordshire home on Christmas Day.
As previously reported, an autopsy was performed on Michael just four days after his death. The results were deemed “inconclusive” and authorities said more tests are needed to determine the music icon’s official cause of death.
Arkansas Teacher Resigns After Calling Michelle Obama “First Chimp” in Facebook Post
HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED!
An Arkansas teacher was forced to resign after he referred to first lady Michelle Obama as “first chimp” in a Facebook post.
Malvern High School teacher Trent Bennett thought he was exercising his first amendment rights to free speech when he wrote “Michelle Obummer… America’s First Chimp” in a now-deleted Facebook post.
After a planned boycott by black parents and teachers was announced, the Malvern School District held an emergency board meeting Thursday where members voted 6-0 to accept the science teacher’s resignation.
In an apology letter to the media, Bennett noted that his words were “disrespectful and offensive.”.
“I am aware of the impact this has had, and though I negate that I have ever conducted myself in a less than professional manner in regard to my students, I have resigned my teaching position at Malvern High School,” he wrote.
Bennett also deleted his social media pages to avoid “future issues”.
In related news, Pamela Taylor, a former executive in city government in West Virginia, was fired after returning off suspension for calling Mrs. Obama an “ape in heels”.
Both Bennett and Taylor are Caucasian Donald Trump supporters.
Angie Stone attempting to sue Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars over ‘Uptown Funk’.
Angie does an interview with Sun Uk and talks seeking legal action against Bruno Mars and she spilled some tea.
Angie Stone has accused Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars of copying one of her old group’s tracks for their 2014 smash hit ‘Uptown Funk’.
The star believes the track borrows too heavily from The Sequence‘s 1979 tune ‘Funk You Up’. Speaking to The Sun, Stone said feels “robbed” by the similarities.
She said: “As far as I’m concerned the song belongs to us. We have been robbed, railroaded, overlooked and completely disrespected. Everyone got paid but my group.
“The truth of the matter is no one on that suit deserves it more than The Sequence because those lyrics are ours – ‘Funk You Up was ours’. We branded it in 1979. Their record was not recorded before ours and I think it is because we are women on the ballot and we are getting railroaded. The truth is we have been trying to sue them long before the record became Record of the Year [at the Grammys].”
Angie added the enormous fees and the power of Warner, the label that has signed Bruno, have so far prevented a suit being filed. But her lawyers have since reached out to the MARVIN GAYE estate lawyers — who won £6million in damages from ROBIN THICKE and PHARRELL WILLIAMS in the Blurred Lines lawsuit.
She added: “A lot of attorneys didn’t want to take the job because the industry is crazy because they don’t want to p*** off Bruno Mars.
No shade her money must be funny!
Istanbul: American Survivor Recalls Playing Dead After Being Shot During Horrifying Attack
Jake Raak who is from Greenville Delaware was enjoying his New Year’s Eve at Reina Nightclub in Istanbul when a gunman opened fire in a horrifying terrorist attack that left 39 people dead. After playing deas, the American tourist survived to become one of 60+ people left injured after the shooting, and his story of the terrifying evening is absolutely chilling.
“When he shot me, I didn’t move. I just let him shoot me,” Jake Raak, 35, an American victim of the Istanbul nightclub shooting on New Year’s Eve, told NBC News. “I was shot when I was already on the ground. He was shooting people that he had already shot.”
The 35-year-old recalled staying perfectly still and silent, despite being hit with a bullet in his hip, which traveled down to his knee. “You just have to stay as calm as you can,” he explained. Jake is in stable condition and is set to travel back to the U.S. sometime this week. However, 39 people, most of whom were foreigners visiting Turkey, have been confirmed dead in the horrific attack, with at least 60 more injured.
ISIS claimed responsibility for the deadly shooting on Jan. 2, and said the attack was carried out “in response to a call” from Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the terrorist group. It is not clear whether the call was made directly, or if the shooter was simply inspired by the call.
The shooter fled the scene after firing around 120 rounds in a matter of ten minutes, and authorities have engaged in an international manhunt to capture the suspect. Istanbul police released an image from security footage of who they believe to be the shooter. “Efforts to find the terrorist are continuing,” Turkey’s interior minister confirmed. “God willing, he will be caught in a short period of time. This was a massacre, a truly inhuman savagery.”
