The death of WorldStarHipHop founder Lee “Q” O’Denat hit the hip-hop world hard. Whether you viewed Q in a positive or negative light, he was undoubtedly one of the pioneers of hip-hop coverage in the digital age. Q founded WorldStarHipHop in 2005, and the site left an indelible mark over the last decade.
Q and WorldStarHipHop were controversial to say the least. Artists could get widespread exposure by having their mixtapes, songs and music videos posted there. However, much of the traffic and appeal came from WorldStarHipHop’s more crude post and viral videos. Q liked to refer to his creation as the “CNN of the ghetto.”
The site was often criticized for being exploitative, particularly when it came to posting videos of fights. In fact, WorldStarHipHop became so synonymous with brawls that it became a common phrase to yell when filming any altercation.
The promotion and proliferation of certain content made WorldStarHipHop a lightning rod, but there was no denying its popularity. Even though its more controversial videos brought in many visitors, the site never stopped hosting hip-hop content. Artists regularly gauged the popularity of their new releases by the numbers it did on the site. And to this day, WorlStarHipHop’s YouTube channel remains a major hub for exclusive audio and video premieres.
The death of Q struck a chord with many of the biggest names in hip-hop. May he rest in Peace!
Kenya Moore’s Ex-Boyfriend Matt Accuses Her Of Cheating With Married Man
Kenya Moore and Matt Jordan’s toxic relationship may be over – but the drama isn’t! After Moore slammed her ex-boyfriend for vandalizing her Moore Manor, he fired back by accusing her of being with a married man.
The drama kicked off when Moore discussed Jordan’s on-camera violence on The B. Scott Show.
“It’s just one of the things that I’ve been dealing with regarding his anger and his emotional outbursts,” she said. “Before, in Mexico, you know he admitted to kicking in the door and having that outburst. That was the first time I saw him get like that since we had been dating — for over a year.”
Moore denied claims that Jordan’s explosive behavior isn’t a result of drug use or excessive drinking.
“I can’t say [his anger] is from steroids because I don’t have any proof of that,” she explained. “But, I was concerned with the behavior and at some point I did question it.”
Jordan responded to her interview by apologizing for destroying her glass garage door, garage door, outdoor security camera and Range Rover in the August 15th incident.
“I should have never damaged anyone’s property,” he wrote. “I admit guilt. I admit fault.”
But Jordan then ripped Moore for “disrespecting” him!
“I sat in the hospital waiting room for 5 hours wondering what was wrong with shorty,” he wrote. “I sat and watched her hold hands with another man while I sat back and watched (yes we were already seeing each other.) I had to find out from some third party person that she was dealing with some married men in Nigeria for money, and that one of them cut her off because she talked about the relationship that was supposed to be private. How you think that made me feel? She claimed she loved me?”
He continued, “Then tell my mother he is a investor you use him to fund your hair line. You are evil! You saying he used to date your friend? Who Kenya? Then why you letting him call you baby sweetie hunnie? Yeah I have my own issues and I’m angry so when I went to the hospital last year because of depression just say why… why Kenya? Because you were in L.A. doing God knows what!”
Moore and Jordan ended their tumultuous relationship in November. She’s denied his allegations.

Taraji P. Henson’s Fans Furious Over Oscar’s “Hidden Figures” Snub
Taraji P. Henson’s fans are furious she missed out on an Oscar nomination for “Hidden Figures.”
Not long after the 2017 Academy Awards nominations were revealed today (January 24), the “Empire” star’s name began trending on Twitter.
But far from people flocking to congratulate Taraji, fans were venting their anger over her lack of recognition for her role as real life NASA mathematician Katherine G. Johnson, who helped to launch the first successful space missions.
“Taraji P Henson snubbed and another ho hum Meryl Streep nomination,” one user fumed.
“Really Academy??? @TherealTaraji should have been nominated for Best Actress in a leading role – she was AMAZING in “Hidden Figures!” #Robbed,” another added.
And it seems Amy Adams also not being nominated has irked moviegoers. Amy received rave reviews for her role in sci-fi flick “Arrival,” about a linguistics professor asked to interpret the language of alien visitors.
“Amy Adams snub would have been less painful with Taraji P. Henson in over Ruth Negga or Meryl Streep #OscarNoms,” a Twitter user posted, while someone else simply stated: “I love Amy Adams and she was great in nocturnal animals/arrival but if anyone was robbed of a lead actress nom it was Taraji P. Henson (sic).”
Amy’s part in “Arrival” earned her a Golden Globe and BAFTA nomination, and she was even mistakenly listed on the Oscars website.
Taraji is yet to be nominated for her role in “Hidden Figures,” however, the movie itself did land Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay nods and her co-star Octavia Spencer is up for Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars.
The Oscars take place on February 26.
New Music: Bell Biv Devoe – I’m Betta
Legendary trio Bell Biv DeVoe is readying the release of their anticipated comeback album, Three Stripes, due out on Friday (Jan. 27).
To continue building the hype, the group have released their 3rd track off the project, the instant grat track “I’m Betta,” which fans can receive when they pre-order the album on iTunes.
“You don’t gots to cry no more, baby / You don’t gots to hurt no more / Cause treat you baby way betta / Do the things that he’ll neva / Just face it baby I’m betta,” they sing.
The upbeat song was produced by hitmaker Kay Gee of ’90s rap group Naughty by Nature, and follows the surprise duet “Finally” with SWV, and the album’s first single “Run.”

The Lox Announces ‘Filthy America… It’s Beautiful Tour’
The Lox is heading out on tour in support of the group’s latest album, Filthy America… It’s Beautiful.
Jadakiss, Styles P, and Sheek Louch made the announcement on Tuesday (Jan. 24), noting that the trek will begin on Feb. 25 in Reading, Pennsylvania, where Lil’ Kim, Remy Ma, and Cardi B are also set to perform.
From there, the “Filthy America… It’s Beautiful Tour” is set to continue (sans Kim, Remy, and Cardi) through Silver Springs, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Detroit, among other cities. The run comes to a close April 8 in Baltimore, Maryland, as per Rolling Stone.
The Roc Nation trio’s third official album and their first in 16 years, Filthy America… It’s Beautiful, was released in December. Prior to that, they joined Diddy, Lil’ Kim, and Ma$e on the “Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour.”
At the time of the album’s release, Styles P noted that it was a throwback nod to the group’s early days. “I would say [this project is] more for our core fan base but with a newer feel,” he said. “Same vibe, music, but we didn’t go with old school-sounding beats. We not trying to sell you the ’90s. We just selling you good rap.”

Chrisette Michelle Says She Didn’t Get To Meet Trump And Her Family Disowned Her In Billboard Interview.
WOW….After Chrisette Michelle drop her recent song ‘No Political Genus’ yesterday and still feeling the backlash for performing for Donald Trump.
Chrisette tells Billboard her family disowned her and she didn’t get a chance to meet Trump. She also address the rumors that she accepted a $750,000 fee for her performance.
Speaking with Billboard, Michele said that she accepted the offer to perform immediately, with “no hesitation”:
I didn’t even think to say no. It didn’t cross my mind. The first thing I thought was that I have an opportunity to get in front of these people who don’t seem to understand who they’re talking to and show them what we look like. I felt automatically committed to making sure that I stood up for the women who’ve felt disrespected and the minorities who felt disrespected, communities that felt that they weren’t being heard or understood. I thought that it was almost my responsibility to not just say yes but to say yes with purpose, so that was my reasoning. And no, I didn’t think twice about it.
Michele also addressed rumors that she accepted a $750,000 fee for her performance:
I recently spoke at Harvard University about how we can use art for change. I sat with a lot of different folks in politics to see what can happen. So when I got the offer [to sing at the Inaugural Ball], the only thing I thought of was what I could do to fix this. We sent in an offer for how much we charge and they said, ‘Well we don’t have that,’ and the first thing I thought then was how I sang for Barack Obama and Michelle Obama free of charge. This is not a money thing.
When asked by Billboard, “Did you perform at the ball for free?,” she replied “No, I didn’t perform for free. One, it wasn’t $750,000, but my manager did negotiate my contract.”
Michele also revealed her frustration at not getting to meet Trump himself:
Originally I was supposed to perform directly after his first speech, and I had done that with Barack Obama before, so I was used to that kind of experience. And the woman who organized the event came and told me, “Now you’re going to go first and he’s going to go after you.” I looked her in the eye and said, “My family has disowned me. If you decide to Google me, you’ll see that America is writing about me in their newspapers. I’m the black poster child for discord right now, and he’s not going to shake my hand?” So no, I didn’t get to meet him… I know he has a lot of other things going on. I don’t know if, like Barack and Michelle, he’s listening to my album or that I’ll be on his summer playlist, so I don’t want to take it that way. I’d rather be optimistic and think that they’ll come another chance where I can talk to him. But I definitely did take the time enough to meet as many of the 60,000 people in the room as I could that night and begin to exchange information. And there were a lot of people who are excited to sit down and talk, who worked on his campaign.

Tracy Morgan ordered to hand over financial documents in Walmart crash settlement.
Walmart’s insurance company is reportedly fighting the settlement the retail giant agreed to pay Tracy Morgan as a result of a 2014 crash on the New Jersey Turnpike that seriously injured the comedian and killed another man.
Back in September 2015, Tracy Morgan received a $90 million payout from Wal-Mart after he was seriously injured in a crash on the New Jersey Turnpike last year.
According to reports, Tracy Morgan must hand over six years of tax returns and other highly personal information in an ongoing dispute over his megabucks crash settlement with Walmart.
A federal magistrate judge in New Jersey gave the comedian 20 days to cough up the documents sought by Walmart insurers in a ruling last week.
In the underlying dispute, Ohio Casualty Insurance Company and Liberty Insurance Underwriters are fighting their obligation to the “exorbitant” cash windfalls promised to Morgan and fellow comedian Ardie Fuqua by the retail behemoth.
Morgan and Fuqua both received confidential settlements from Walmart after the deadly July 7, 2014, crash on the New JerseyTurnpike that killed their friend James McNair.

In the ranking of old-timey TV families, it’s hard to put any one fam higher than the Ricardos. Lucy, Ricky and Little Ricky are staples in our minds to this day (anyone can close their eyes and see the trio), which is why we stopped in our tracks when we saw “Little Ricky” from I Love Lucy all grown up. For some reason, pics of stars we last heard of as kids is at once rewarding, fascinating and totally bizarre. They’re big like us, but should have somehow remained small, defying the laws of time and physics and life in general. The twins who played Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz’ s TV son are 64 now! What we’d give for a stroll through those memory banks!
The Little Rickys are now Big Rickys, and it’s kind of a lot to handle.
The search for Little Ricky began after Lucy was seen pregnant in real life on episodes of the show. Lucy and Ricky preferred not to use their own son in the role on TV, so the search began, and ultimately ended, for 15-month-old Joe and Mike Mayer.
“In 1953, Arnaz realized one way to deal with limited camera time was to use identical twins,” mentions the Idaho Press-Tribune, who ran a story on the present day Mayer twins. Arnaz’ instinct to use two babies instead of one would become the industry norm for many, including the Olsen twins on Full House and Dylan and Cole Sprouse in Big Daddy in 1999.
“Neither Joe nor Mike’s names are listed on any of the episode credits; presumably to keep the illusion the child was Arnaz and Ball’s actual child.” says the article.
Can you believe it? While it still feels unnatural (we like to believe maybe the Ricardos are still out there in their 30s with a young son, Pleasantville-style), it’s nice to know the stars of something as huge as I Love Lucy are out there keeping the legacy alive. Erin Andrews Reveals Cervical Cancer Battle
Erin Andrews reveals that she was diagnosed with cervical cancer last year
During week three of the NFL season in 2016, the 38-year-old FOX sideline reporter was told she had cancer.
The surgery was scheduled for Tuesday, October 11. Erin told her doctor (via MMQB), “I’m not watching any football games at home. This is [Fox’s] Super Bowl year, and I’m not missing the Super Bowl.” Two days after surgery, Erin took a plane to Green Bay for the football game that week.
“Should I have been standing for a full game five days after surgery? Let’s just say the doctor didn’t recommend that,” Erin said. “But just as I felt during my trial, sports were my escape. I needed to be with my crew.”
“Throughout my career, all I’ve ever wanted is to just fit in,” Erin added. “That I had this extra baggage with the scandal, I didn’t want to be any different. I felt that way about being sick too. I don’t want players or coaches to look at me differently.”
“After the trial everyone kept telling me, ‘You’re so strong, for going through all of this, for holding down a job in football, for being the only woman on the crew,’ ” Erin continued. “Finally I got to the point where I believed it too. ‘Hey, I have cancer, but dammit, I am strong, and I can do this.’”
After a second procedure, Erin was in the clear and cancer-free.
If you didn’t know, Erin also went through a major trial in 2016 after a stalker filmed footage of her in her hotel room. She was awarded $55 million in a civil lawsuit.
