Gabrielle Union Strikes A Pose For ESSENCE Magazine’s November 2016 Issue
Gabrielle Union is ready to start her press rounds for the upcoming season of “Being Mary Jane” (set to premiere January 2017) and her upcoming family comedy Almost Christmas (hitting theaters November 11th). So, she’s kicking things into gear with some slayage.

The gorgeous actress is covering ESSENCE magazine’s November 2016, striking a pose in luxury designers Lanvin, Diane von Furstenberg and Michael Kors Collection for the cover.
Inside, the 42-year-old actress (who celebrates a birthday this month), opens up about her fears of being a stepmom to her husband Dwyane Wade’s teenage sons.
“Teens get teen-y,” she told ESSENCE. “It’s harder. I never understood that. ‘You won’t sleep.’ I always associated that phrase with babies. Crying, teething babies. No. Until they walk through the door, I’m terrified. Sometimes I just want to stay off my timeline, because it makes those waits until they walk through the door a thousand times worse. Just envisioning them as a hashtag…"
With everything going on across the nation with police officers killing black men, we totally understand.
As she continues to build her empire, Gabby also talked about dabbing more into producing projects to help shape the narrative where she see fit.
“I don’t just want to be a hired gun. I want to have a little bit more control over the narrative. The only way I can be empowered to do that is to be a producer. Now with as many projects that will have me, it’s part of the deal.”

Go Sis! You can read Gabby's full interview in the November 2016 issue of ESSENCE when it hits newsstands this Friday, October 14th.

#RHoA: Real Housewives Of Atlanta Season 9: Kim Zolciak In Cameo Appearance; Mansion Showdown Continues
Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 9 may welcome Kim Zolciak back after rumored reconciliation with Sheree Whitfield. Plus, the mansion showdown continues between Sheree and Kenya Moore.
Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 9 is still a month away from returning but drama is already in full swing. Original housewife and returning as a full cast member Sheree Whitfield started the ball rolling with her latest antics.

First, Whitfield reportedly defended rival and former housewife Kim Zolciak’s daughter Brielle Biermann from bashers. According to reports, Biermann has been a target of online haters after her lip surgery.
The news on Whitfield and Zolciak’s getting along well again sparked hopes on the two reuniting in Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 9. The hopes are backed up with NeNe Leakes teasing on the two housewives replacing her next season.
Wetpaint reported that Kim Zolciak did not, however, dismiss the idea of returning to the show. “I can’t say I won’t ever return,” the Kashmere mogul told the site.

The housewife also revealed her relationship with Leakes. Although the two housewives were at odds in the previous seasons, they are doing well off-camera.
Zolciak told the website “We do text every now and again — I see her on something, she looks great or vice versa. But I don’t know when the last time I saw her was.”
Meanwhile, Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 9 also teases on including a showdown drama between two peaches. Days ago, Whitfield shared updates on her Chateau Shereé to slam her haters.

Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 9 housewife Kenya Moore reportedly did not let returning Whitfield outshine her. Moore took down the development from her coming Moore Manor on Instagram.
Moore uploaded her luxurious and Gone with the Wind-inspired bathroom on her Instagram. Few weeks after the bathroom photo, Moore also shared a photo from her kitchen section and showing off her expensive counter tops.

Some think that the Moore Manor has been making quick improvements compared to Chateau Sheree. Fans may have to stick to the series if they want to see how the two will continue to compete with each other.

Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 9 premieres on November 6, 2016 on Bravo TV.

Taraji P. Henson Is that “Around The Way Girl”  On The Promo Trail, Stops By “GMA”
The “Empire” star is currently making media rounds to promote her recently released memoir Around The Way Girl. The 46-year-old stunna wowed on “Good Morning America” in a bold printed Bibhu Mohapatra dress. Lace, floral designs, and leather detailing and black knee high boots rounded out the look.
The Golden Globe winner chatted with “GMA” host Robin Roberts about how her dad inspired her Cookie Lyon’s persona on the FOX series. She said people think she pulled inspiration for Cookie from a woman, but in actuality she got her inspiration from her dad. He’s the “tell like it is” type and lives his true self. And she said if more people were living in their truth and being their authentic selves, the world would be a much better place.
The Image Award winner also talked up her highly anticipated movie Hidden Figures where she will play mathematician Katherine Johnson. She gave Katherine praise for her extraordinary work at NASA and made it crystal clear that “women put men in space and on the moon.”
Hidden Figures will hit theaters January 13, 2017.

New Music: Robin Thicke Feat. Nas – Deep
When they go low, we go high! Earlier than expected, Robin Thicke returns with his brand new song “Deep” featuring Nas. The God Son MC kicks off the smooth single with a socially conscious a cappella verse about police brutality and how it’s affecting us all.

Thicke then comes in with his silky vocals singing about relationship issues that just aren’t worth losing sleep over.
“In your eyes / I don’t want to see the pain you’re holdin’ / In your mind / I don’t want to serve a lifetime for it … Livin’ in a world I can’t explain,” he sings.

Thicke is in the studio working on his next album, the follow-up to 2014’s Paula. On Oct. 15, he will hit the stage for TIDAL X: 1015 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

New Hip Hop: French Montana Feat. Max B & Chinx – ‘Paid For’
After scrapping his album MC4, French Montana delivers an ode to Max B and Chinx with his latest release, “Paid For.”
“Nothing worse than when you love something death can touch,” raps Montana. “Sometimes life hurts more than death, homie / Locked up Max, took Chinx, I’m the last one left.”

In the middle of the medley produced by Harry Fraud, The Alchemist, and Masar, Max B’s mother offers a prayer for her son and French.
“Keep them safe as I know that you do each and every day, Lord God,” she says. “We ask you to give them wisdom to use in a good way, Lord God, that will help them in their future.”
Max and Chinx also make an appearance on the second half of the track, which is a collaboration with French that was slated for Mac & Cheese 4.
Although MC4 has been shelved, French has another project due this month. He promises that it will be “some of the best music you’ve ever heard.”

Michael Ealy Joins The Cast Of ‘Being Mary Jane’ Season 4
When Being Mary Jane makes its return in January, the city won’t be the only thing that’s new, there’s also some new eye candy on the way – with Michael Ealy joining the cast opposite of Gabrielle Union.

The actor will play Justin Talbot, the new producer of Great Day USA, who is the man who previously got Mary Jane fired from CNN. After arriving at Great Day USA, he remains a thorn in Mary Jane’s side, and she’s forced to learn to cleverly maneuver around his power plays.
According to Deadline, Michael had been considering multiple feature offers for next year, when he was approached directly by his friend, Gabrielle, with talks of considering the role.
“I had turned down several network offers, as I really was not interested in doing another show at the time, but because Gabrielle is a friend, I told her that I’d seriously think about and talk with my team,” he explained. “At the end of the day, I felt like we all have a social responsibility to help elevate material with people of color in any way that we can, and if there was an opportunity for me to help my friend and the cultural perceptions of our work, then I would do my part.”

BET shared a teaser for the show’s upcoming Season 4, last week – which showed that MJ is headed to a new city – that appears to be New York City – with a new attitude.

The show premieres January 2017.

Kim Kardashian sues Media Takeout after they claimed she ‘staged’ robbery
I only visit Media Takeout once in a while. I especially like their Beyonce conspiracies, but anyone who takes Media Takeout as gospel needs to review their relationship with celebrity gossip in general. Because I haven’t visited Media Takeout in so long, I had no idea that they were peddling some “theories” about Kim Kardashian’s robbery in Paris last week. Kim was held up by armed gunmen in the early morning hours last Monday (October 3). She thought she was going to die. She thought she was going to be raped. In the end, the armed assailants tied her up and stole millions of dollars’ worth of jewelry, then left the scene of the crime by bicycle. Within minutes/hours of the story of Kim’s robbery going public, some people began to question it and conspiracy-theory it. People couldn’t believe that Kim was the victim. She had to be behind it, they claimed. And Media Takeout spread those theories. And so now Kim is suing Media Takeout.

Kim Kardashian’s calling out a media outlet … Tom Cruise style … suing for published stories that accuse her of lying about the whole Paris robbery. Kim just filed a federal lawsuit against MediaTakeOut.com for 3 posts about her ordeal … one of which alleged there was evidence Kim “staged” the robbery. In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Kim says the site used random people off social media as its sources.
The site also posted a story about “French authorities” suspecting Kim had actually “let the robbers in” the apartment. The final indignity, according to the suit by her lawyers Marty Singer and Andrew Brettler, was a post about Kim’s insurance claim. She says MediaTakeOut reported, “If she faked the robbery … she just committed a FEDERAL CRIME.”
Kim says she immediately sicced her legal team on the site … demanding they retract the posts and apologize, but got no response. So now, she’ll see ‘em in court. MediaTakeOut had no comment.
[From TMZ]

I never really thought Kim would be the kind of person to sue media outlets when she gets unfavorable coverage, although I think this is a particularly unique situation for her. This isn’t “oh, she looks like sh-t in that dress.” She’s not suing over something stupid like that. She’s suing over very specific claims that she committed some kind of crime by “staging” a robbery that became something of an international incident, a robbery that by all accounts has left her traumatized and profoundly shaken. There are legal implications to the false reporting, so I think that’s why Kim is choosing to sue. It’s not about the money – and she probably won’t get much money, let’s be real – it’s about what really happened to her.

Wells Fargo CEO John Stumpf will receive ZERO severance pay after he retires effective immediately in wake of scandal over bank's sales practices
Wells Fargo's embattled CEO John Stumpf has resigned, effective immediately, as the nation's second-largest bank is roiled by a scandal over its sales practices.
The San Francisco bank said Wednesday that Stumpf will also relinquish his title as chairman.
Its chief operating officer, Tim Sloan, will succeed Stumpf as CEO.
A representative for Wells Fargo said that Stumpf will not receive any severance payment

Stumpf had led Wells Fargo since 2007.
He faced congressional hearings and consumer wrath after Wells Fargo was found to have opened millions of bank accounts without customers' permission.
Last month he was denied $41 million in compensation as punishment for the scandal.
Stephen Sanger, the bank's lead director, will serve as the board's non-executive chairman. Independent director Elizabeth Duke will serve as vice chair.
Wells Fargo is due to report third-quarter earnings on Friday.
Just last week fourteen senators called on the Justice Department to open a criminal investigation of Wells Fargo executives after the revelations that bank employees opened millions of fake bank and credit card accounts.
U.S. and California regulators have fined San Francisco-based Wells Fargo $185 million, saying bank employees trying to meet aggressive sales targets opened up to 2 million fake deposit and credit card accounts in customers' names.
Regulators said employees issued and activated debit cards and signed people up for online banking without permission.
The abuses are said to have gone on for years, unchecked by senior management.
In their letter, the senators urged Attorney General Loretta Lynch to hold Wells Fargo accountable as a corporation and also prosecute individual executives who may have broken the law.
