The Daily Buzz For June 27

Angela Bassett To Launch New Skin Care Line For Darker Skin Tones In July
Angela Bassett has teamed with Dr. Barbara Sturm on a new skin care line called, Darker Skin Tones by Dr. Barbara Sturm.
After meeting the German doctor through a mutual friend a few of years ago, the American Horror Story star spoke to her about breakouts and irritations she was experiencing. The actress tried Dr. Sturm’s original line, and together they decided to collaborate on a line that would focus on darker skin tones.
It took two years of research to create a line of products that address issues like inflammation, hyper-pigmentation and uneven skin tone.
“Our main ingredient which goes through our whole line is purslane,” Sturm told WWD. “It’s also an herb, and it has such powerful properties in every direction. But what I like the most is actually is the youth enzyme, this telomerase activator. The telomerase activates an enzyme to keep those ends of the chromosomes long, which actually works against natural programmed cell death and that’s the key. So not only do we have anti-inflammation and the evening out of skin tone but also a big thing for antiaging.”
Angela said she wants people to become more aware of their skin. “And to see what is good for it and ingredients that are helpful — and not invasive or irritating. I like them to be pleased when they look in the mirror, to feel good about themselves and the condition of their complexion.”
The five-item line will include a 150-ml. foam cleanser; a 75-gram enzyme cleanser; a 50-ml. face cream; a 50-ml. face cream rich, and a 30-ml. hyaluronic serum. The cleanser will be available for $58, while the hyaluronic serum is priced at $335. It will be sold exclusively at Harrods in-store and online in July.

#RHOA: The Richest 'Real Housewives Of Atlanta' Star Is Definitely Not The Loudest About Her Wealth
If you ask me to think about money and the Real Housewives of Atlanta, my mind goes straight to NeNe Leakes even though she's not a full-time Real Housewife these days. Nevertheless, NeNe is still talking about her many trips to the bank and reciting her own famous quote about being "rich, b*tch." So it makes me wonder: Does NeNe really have the most money out of all the Atlanta ladies? Who is really the richest Real Housewives of Atlanta star?
It's hard to tell just from watching the show since it seems like they're all hustling hard these days. But sorry, NeNe, apparently it is not you. Even though NeNe is pretty much always bragging about her money, the wealthiest Atlanta Housewife is one who was actually a star before joining the show.
If you're scratching your head trying to figure it out, the RHOA lady with the most money is Kandi Burruss. Kandi has an estimated net worth of $35 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth, which might surprise fans since Kandi is the most low-key when it comes to bragging about money in comparison to the other Housewives. GoNetWorth and The Examiner also report $35 million when it comes to Kandi's net worth.
So how did Kandi get to that number? Well, aside from appearing as a Real Housewife, Kandi has had two different Bravo spin-off shows: Kandi's Wedding and Kandi's Ski Trip. It's obvious that Kandi is very in demand and has a loyal audience, so I'm sure that she is earning a pretty penny for all of those reality TV shows. Outside of her reality TV career, Kandi has written some of the biggest R&B songs of all time, including "No Scrubs" by TLC and "Bills Bills Bills" by Destiny's Child. She also has her own line of sex toys called Bedroom Kandi. Kandi really does it all.

But the other ladies work hard, too, of course. But still WERK KANDI!

Was the BREXIT the reason for Rihanna’s London show not selling OUT?
Did Rihanna Navy go AWOL for her concert at Wembley Stadium in London. The Navy Queen who has been selling out her ANTO World Tour here in the states looks like she hit a temporary block at her show in the UK the other night.
This could have also been due to the BREXIT vote that has thrown the UK into chaos. Instagram user Marboomusic shared some videos look below.

The Weekend Box Office! Dory still rules and Independence Day FLOPS!
Twenty six weeks into 2016 and Disney's year continues to impress as the studio has the #1 film at the weekend box office for the twelfth time. Finding Dory topped the weekend chart with one of the ten best second weekends of all-time as the animated feature has now grossed over $286 million domestically and nearly $400 million worldwide. As for the weekend's new wide releases, the results weren't quite as pretty as three out of the four struggled in a competitive marketplace. Independence Day: Resurgence was unable to match the opening weekend of its 20-year-old predecessor, Free State of Jones didn't capture the attention of its target audience and The Neon Demon wasn't able to come close to expectations. The only bright spot among the weekend's new wide releases was the "terror in the water" thriller The Shallows, which scored well with audiences and critics, all on a meager budget.
Taking the number one spot for a second weekend in a row is Disney's Finding Dory with an estimated $73.2 million, only a 45.8% drop from the film's record breaking opening weekend. This also marks the largest second weekend for an animated film and the eighth largest second weekend of all-time, ahead of the $72.6 million brought in by Captain America: Civil War earlier this year.

Dory is now up to $286.5 million domestically, already making it the 13th highest grossing animated release of all-time after just ten days in release.
Taking second was Fox's Independence Day: Resurgence, which carries a reported budget of $165 million and opened with an estimated $41.6 million. Coupled with negative reviews and a so-so "B" CinemaScore this one may have a tough time doing anything more than $100-110 million domestically. Demographically, Resurgence played to an audience that was 58% male vs 42% female, with 64% over the age of 25.
Similar to Universal's Warcraft, another $160+ million production that has struggled domestically, Resurgence will now be looking to international territories to sop up some of the red ink on the balance sheets. That said, the film did get off to a strong start this weekend, pulling in an estimated $101.4 million from 57 international markets for a $143 million global opening. China led the way with $37.3 million from 6,047 screens followed by Korea ($7.4m), UK ($7.3m), Mexico ($6.8m), Taiwan ($3.7m) and India ($3.5m).

The one film among this weekend's new releases that managed to impress was Sony's shark thriller The Shallows. Taking advantage of heavy buzz on social media and scoring the best reviews of the weekend's new releases, the Blake Lively starrer finished fourth with an estimated $16.7 million this weekend, nearly matching the film's reported $17 million budget. The audience breakdown was 46% male vs 54% female, with 50% under the age of 25. With opening day audiences awarding the film a "B+" CinemaScore, it could push toward a $42-45 million domestic run if not more.
Then we move to STX's Free State of Jones, a historical epic starring Matthew McConaughey carrying a reported budget of $50 million. The studio was looking for an opening in the low teens, but all the film was able to muster was an estimated $7.7 million from 2,815 theaters. For McConaughey this is the worst wide release opening he's seen since 2006's We Are Marshall, which opened with $6.1 million, but is a bit of a tough comparison given its Christmas weekend opening.

Box Office is as follows!
1 1 Finding Dory $73,234,746
2 N Independence Day: Resurgence $41,600,000
3 2 Central Intelligence $18,370,000
4 N The Shallows $16,700,000
5 N Free State of Jones $7,772,000
6 3 The Conjuring 2  $7,705,000
7 4 Now You See Me 2 $5,650,000
8 6 X-Men: Apocalypse $2,475,000
9 7 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows $2,400,000
10 8 Alice Through the Looking Glass $2,147,144

Auction of Whitney Houston memorabilia earns $500,000
An auction of Whitney Houston's memorabilia has earned more than $500,000 despite a judge blocking the sale of an Emmy Award won by the late singer.
Heritage Auctions says the top bid in Friday's auction was $20,000 for a pair of Nike Air Jordan sneakers given to Houston by NBA great Michael Jordan. A Dolce & Gabbana fur coat worn by Houston on stage sold for more than $16,000.
The auction featured several costumes worn by Houston, as well gold records and other items the Grammy-winning singer accumulated before her death in 2012 at age 48.
A federal judge on Thursday blocked Heritage Auctions from selling Houston's 1986 Emmy trophy, which she won for a Grammy performance. The company returned the trophy to Houston's family.

Britons Express Serious #Regrexit As Reality Of Brexit Becomes Clear
Some voters wish they could turn back time.
As global stock markets tumbled and the value of the pound plummeted to a 30-year low following the United Kingdom’s vote to leave the European Union, it appears that some people are now having serious regrets.
The #REGREXIT hashtag began trending on Twitter on Saturday morning, just as a petition calling for the country to hold a second referendum on its membership in the European Union passed 2.5 million signatures. The total now stands at 3 million.
Tweeters vented their anger on a variety of themes. Some of those who voted “leave” said they now felt betrayed and wish they could turn back time and opt to remain. Others called out those same “leave” voters for choosing to exit the EU without having done the proper research:
Multiple people have reportedly admitted they didn’t actually understand what they’d been voting for, either believing they were registering a protest vote against the government or just presuming that the “leave” campaign would never win.
A whole host of other people who voted to leave the EU have also come forward to express their regret with the result. (Watch their stories by clicking here.)
The campaign to leave won 51.9 percent of the vote in Thursday’s referendum, compared to 48.1 percent on the “remain” side. It’s prompted the resignation of Prime Minister David Cameron and sparked fears that other European nations could follow suit in leaving the union.

The 2016 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards brought Out Black Star Power!
Music’s elite gathered at the Beverly Wilshire for the 29th annual ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards in L.A. to honor the songwriters and publishers of the most performed ASCAP songs on the 2015 R&B, hip-hop, rap and gospel charts.
R&B crooner Ne-Yo rolled up on the red carpet at the invitation-only event.
R&B singer Tank, who recently celebrated 20 years in the music biz, was all smiles on the carpet.
“Power” star and singer Rotimi was in the mix to recognize the honorees of the evening.
Former Miss Teen USA Kamie Crawford, who will star on the new BET series "F In Fabulous," kept it white hot in a summer ready jumpsuit.
Actor/singer Keith Robinson, who’s starring in the Tupac biopic All Eyez On Me, kept it dapper in a suit.
Gospel artist Erica Campbell, 1/2 of Mary Mary, flossed her curves in a black and gold studded dress. She's in the running for the Best Gospel/Inspirational BET Award. And her husband/record producer Warryn Campbell escorted his wife for the festivities.
Rapper/actor Andre 3000 was tapped to present legendary hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest the ASCAP Golden Note Award.

Backstage, 3 Stacks snapped it up with the honorees, including Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Jarobi White. The Golden Note Award presentation also paid special tribute to band member Malik “Phife Dawg” Taylor, who recently passed away.

Looks like Ne-Yo copped an award for his 2015 hits.
He later joined Nicole George-Middleton, Senior Vice President of ASCAP Rhythm & Soul, on stage.
Congrats to All!

R.I.P: Bill Cunningham Dies: The New York Times Fashion Photographer Was 87
Bill Cunningham, the New York Times‘ ubiquitous man-on-the-street photographer whose life and work was the subject of Richard Press’ acclaimed 2010 documentary Bill Cunningham New York, died Saturday in New York at 87. His death was confirmed by the Times, which disclosed that he’d recently been hospitalized following a stroke.
Though technically a fashion photographer, Cunningham’s tireless work for the newspaper’s Style section was noted – and loved – for its social documentation as much for any depiction of the latest attire. The Times‘ obit called him “an unlikely cultural anthropologist,” as good a description as any to those who followed his work Sunday after Sunday.
According to the Times, he worked at the paper for nearly 40 years.
“His company was sought after by the fashion world’s rich and powerful, yet he remained one of the kindest, most gentle and humble people I have ever met,” said Arthur Ochs Sulzberger Jr., the Times’ publisher and chairman. “We have lost a legend, and I am personally heartbroken to have lost a friend.”
