The Daily Buzz For April 4

#TEAMEMPIRE: Serayah Covers ‘Rolling Out’! Speaks on all things Serayah and Tiana!
Serayah poses for the cover of rolling out‘s latest issue. The 20-year-old actress and singer, who takes on the role of Tiana Brown, on FOX’s hit show – Empire – opens up about hitting the studio since being back in L.A., her music, what her life was like before Empire, what it was like finding out Beyoncé watched the show and knew who she was and more.

Read highlights from her interview, and catch a few of her gorgeuos pics, below..

On spending time in studio, since returning to L.A from Chicago (filming Empire) – and on her music:
I am finally going to be able to work on my music, so I just want to be in the studio and nothing else…. I just got signed to Sony, and I’m super excited. But I’m also focused on working really hard because I want people to take my first project seriously, so I’m looking forward to really putting in the hours.

On what life was like for her before the show and how she told her job she was leaving:

Life was really hard. It was a struggle. To be honest, I didn’t even have a place to stay when I was auditioning for “Empire.” Literally, after we shot the first couple of episodes, I took my first check, and finally was able to rent an apartment. But that was my journey. I was going to school, and I was working at H&M, and it was a grind. But I truly feel that when you’re at your lowest, that’s when God can truly come in and bless you.

I wish I had that humility, but to be honest, I just never went back [to work]. After I got called back for that second audition, I said to myself that I was just going to step out on faith, and I didn’t go back to work.
On what was on her list of things to buy, after getting her first check:

Well, maybe a couple checks later is when I got a car, but that’s about it. I’ve really been focused on saving. I haven’t been making big purchases like that, and I still shop at H&M.

On the biggest celeb to reveal they watched her on the show:

I would have to say Beyoncé. When I found out that she watched the show, and knew who I was, I almost fell to the floor. It was at the Grammys, right after Taylor [Swift] won Album of the Year. And so, I was going backstage to meet her. As I’m walking, I notice Beyoncé passing me. I didn’t want to miss the moment, so I reached out to her and said, “Thank you so much for being such a great inspiration,” … and she was nice, and replied, “Thank you so much.” But as she was walking away, she stopped, turns back around, and says, “Hey, I just realized who you were; you are doing such a great job,” and she gave me a hug. I literally had tears in my eyes. It was such an amazing moment, and it provided me confirmation that I am on the right track.
Go over to rollingout for Serayah’s full interview!

#RHOA: Kandi Burruss Tucker Claims The Ladies Try To Make Kenya Moore Wrong In Every Situation Because They Don’t Like Her!
Although Kandi Burruss Tucker was not quite as involved in season 8 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta as usual, Andy Cohen made sure to make her a big part of the reunion. Kandi has been holding her peach for years, and her break from the drama was only because she was pregnant. Now that Kandi gave birth, and is looking better than ever; it’s time for the claws to come back out.

Andy knows that Kandi is a seasoned vet, holding her own in many reunions past. Andy made sure to ask Kandi her opinion on a lot of this seasons issues, and Kandi gave us exactly what we want; some shade!

This week in her Bravo Blog Kandi assures us that she doesn’t care if Phaedra takes her kids to visit Apollo or not, she is just sick of hearing about it; this is a way different stance than she took at the reunion, and with 7 years left to go for Apollo this subject is far from over. Kandi also took the time to defend Kenya (again), and says that in Miami Kenya was 100% right and there is no way the ladies can spin it any other way!

Bravotv.com: How do you feel about the discussion with Phaedra over the kids visiting Apollo?

Kandi Burruss: I don’t feel anything. I’m tired of being asked about it.

Bravotv.com: What inspired you to stick up for Kenya during the argument about Tammy’s nephew?
KB: I was sticking up for what’s right. People try to make Kenya wrong in every situation just because they don’t like her. It’s not OK for a man to physically attack a woman, and they can’t make it OK just because it’s Kenya. I’m shocked that they were taking up for him. Looking back at that Miami episode, you can clearly see he called all of us bitches and all kinds of names. He knocked his own aunt out trying to get to Kenya. There is no way they should be supporting that type of aggression towards women.

Bravotv.com: Would Ayden make a good reunion host?
KB: Ayden would make an awesome host!

Why do you think? Do you think the ladies always try to make Kenya wrong because they don’t like her?

The Shade Room captured the moment of sincerity and posted it onto their Instagram page. Yung Berg made a comment under the picture that he hopes the reunion inspires new music to which The Shade Room captured as well.
"Stop playing with us little boy," Bow Wow commented under The Shade Room's Instagram picture of Yung Berg's comment. "You saw what happened in Vegas when we hopped out on you. Trick I guess he aint learn from Detroit. Maino slapped the life out you, now watch when the fruitz get you."

New Couple Alert? Rocsi Diaz & Singer Joe Vacay'd in Bora Bora!
TV host Rocsi and "Big Rich Town" singer Joe have been keeping their relationship totally under wraps.  But we did catch them shopping it up together in L.A. last July, which made our eyes and ears perk up.
Now, we noticed that Rocsi is chillin' in Bora Bora on vacay.  When she shouted out a sailing company thanking them for the fabulous boatride, we noticed Joe thanked the same company...at the same time...in his Bora Bora vacay pics.
Looks like these two are living it up!

As for what she's up to these days: Blogging entertainment news (go figure) and traveling the world.  Dating Joe has its perks it seems.

Jay Z sues former Tidal owners over inflated subscriber numbers
Just over a year after buying struggling streaming service Tidal, rap mogul and titan of industry Jay Z suspects the former ownership group may have misstated the number of Tidal subscribers pre-acquisition.

In a letter sent to Tidal’s former owners, Jay Z’s legal team said:
“Panther has learned that the actual number of subscribers at that point in time was significantly lower and that the amount represented in the due diligence documents were greatly overstated.”

It’s a claim that was quickly rejected by the site’s former owners.
“We disagree with the accusations in the letter and any potential claims,” a Schibsted spokesman said. “The buyer also did a due diligence of the company. It is worth noting that this was more than one year ago.”
In March 2015, Jay Z purchased Tidal from a Norwegian media group, Schibsted ASA, for $56 million. Since then, the service has been blasted for non-payment of royalties, questionable decisions, general apathy from ownership and most recently, acquisition talks (although Samsung later denied its interest in acquiring Tidal).

Tidal representatives are said to have served legal notice to the parties involved that the March 2015 sale reported 540,000 users, while an internal audit revealed only 17,000 of those were subscribing directly to Tidal.
Another 391,000 had access to the service via partnership agreements with cellphone providers and TV subscription packages.

Sports News: NCAA Final Four: Villanova, UNC easily advance to title game
Heading into Final Four weekend, there were questions on how well teams could shoot in NRG Stadium in Houston, a 70,000-plus seat venue, primarily the home of the NFL’s Houston Texans.
Villanova had an emphatic answer Saturday in the first NCAA Final Four semifinal: No problem whatsoever.

Junior guard Josh Hart scored 23 points to lead a balanced attack, and the No. 2 seed Wildcats defeated No. 2 seed Oklahoma Sooners 95-51 to advance to the NCAA men’s basketball national championship game.
On Monday, Villanova (34-5) will face No. 1 seed North Carolina, which defeated No. 10 Syracuse 83-66 in the second semifinal.
Villanova head coach Jay Wright said “it simply was one of those nights.”
“I’m happy we had one of those games where we just make every shot,” Wright said. “We had end-of-shot-clock shots we just threw up and went in.”

As a team, Villanova shot an incredible 71.4% from the field and won by the biggest margin ever in a Final Four game. It was the second-best field goal percentage of the men’s Final Four, trailing only Villanova’s 78.6 percent effort (22 of 28) in the 1985 national championship game against No. 1 Georgetown on April 1, 1985.
“We got whipped in every way,” Oklahoma head coach Lon Kruger said.

As for Syracuse VS North Carolina…… The second game turned into another blowout, as North Carolina (33-6) outpaced Syracuse (23-14). UNC led 39-28 at halftime. Syracuse — which was trying to become the first double-digit seed to reach the national championship game — cut UNC’s lead to seven points with 9:51 remaining to make it 57-50, but the Tar Heels weren’t seriously challenged after that.

“The last four weeks we’ve been much, much better defensively,” UNC head coach Roy Williams said. “We had a brain lapse there for about three minutes in the second half, but other than that I thought we were really good defensively against a team that’s hard to guard.”
Johnson and sophomore guard/forward Justin Jackson each had 16 points. Junior forward Kennedy Meeks had 15 points, while senior guard Marcus Paige had 13 points. Sophomore guard Joel Berry II had eight points and 10 assists.
UNC and Syracuse are extremely familiar with each other, as both are from the Atlantic Coast Conference. This was the third time these teams faced each other this season, with UNC now winning all three games.

Despite its reputation as a title contender in previous years, Syracuse, with the up-and-down season it has had, was one of the most improbable Final Four teams in the tournament’s history.
Losing 13 games this season, including going 1-5 in its final six games before the NCAA tournament, Syracuse was in danger of missing the tournament altogether as a bubble team. Additionally, the Orange’s head coach, Jim Boeheim, was suspended for nine games earlier this season for what the NCAA said was failing to monitor his basketball program.

Senior guard Trevor Cooney had 22 points, while freshman forward Malachi Richardson and senior forward Michael Gbinije had 17 and 12 points, respectively.
Boeheim said he told his players he was more proud of this team then any team he has ever coached.
“Tonight we had a bad start,” he told a reporter. “We missed some free throws that we can’t miss. You can’t do that against North Carolina. They’re just too big and strong and good.”

Villanova and North Carolina will battle for CHAMPIONSHIP rights on Monday night!

“American Idol” Finalists Tour Cancelled
Every season the top finishers from “American Idol” embark on a nationwide tour to celebrate the successful run, but it turns out the Final Season won’t continue the tradition.

A rep from Core Media told Entertainment Tonight, “The American Idol Live tour has historically been an integral part of celebrating the seasons’ contestants and also garnering excitement for summer auditions for the upcoming season. Instead we will focus on making the two-night finale a memorable and meaningful experience.”

Slated to air on April 6th and 7th, the American Idol Final Season finale will feature Trent Harmon, Dalton Rapattoni and La’Porsha Ranae as they compete to become the very last American Idol champion.

So what’s the tea? Well the Tea is that this relationship isn’t new at all. In fact, both Carl and Badu have been tweeting each other for awhile, but it went unnoticed.
The real tea is they’ve been together for years. Their relationship actually ended his marriage.
We’re told that Carl and his then wife worked on animated series, Black Dynamite together. Our source claims that Badu came on the show to do voice-over work for the series and that’s when she met Carl. We hear that Carl immediately fell for Badu. We’re unsure if that’s what ended Carl’s marriage, but immediately thereafter, he and Badu allegedly began dating.

Carl is a producer and actor, known for The Boondocks (2005), Freaknik: The Musical (2010) and Black Dynamite (2011). Anywho — we love, love so congrats to them!
