Victor Cruz, Russell Westbrook & Von Miller Cover SI’s Fashionable 50 Issue
The editors of Sports Illustrated teamed up with sports and fashion experts to select the world's 50 most stylish athletes. And they gave a few of the fashionable athletes their own SI cover.
Coming in at the No. 1 spot, New York Giants baller Victor Cruz takes the crown as the most stylish baller this year. And it’s no surprise. When he’s not making plays on the gridiron, Victor is a regular at almost every Fashion Week event. He was recently tapped as an ambassador for New York Fashion Week: Men’s.
The wide receiver is upping his standing in the fashion industry as he models for fashion houses like Givenchy and sports apparel brand Nike. He also has the title “designer” under his belt as he has been working on his own clothing line and he recently released a collection with Denim Brand 3x1.
So what does fashion mean to Victor?
“Fashion is what you make of it,” said Victor. “If you’re comfortable in it and you own it, there’s no box you can put it in. That’s the beauty of fashion. Football gave me a platform to show the world how I dress. Even on the field, I make sure I’m always cleaned up, my jersey’s never un-tucked, my socks are always pulled up and my spikes always look well kept, neat and new. I make sure the way I look on the field is the same way I look off the field as well. I think my clothes show that I pay attention to detail, take time to get dressed and think about outfits well in advance, which is all very true. And there’s a little bit of pressure. You want to go out there and step it up to make sure you look as good as the Cam Newtons and Odell Beckhams of the world because they go out there and they have custom pieces every week. I haven’t been out there in a little bit, so this year I have to bring it.”
Victor is about this fashion life. Not mad.

NBA superstar and fashion innovator Russell Westbrook is also really into fashion as well. The OKC Thunder baller has created several different collections with luxury brand retailer Barneys New York and he’s the creative force behind True Religion’s Spring 2015 campaign.
Not only that, Russell always takes risks showing off his fashion flair with his pre-and-post game outfits.
For his cover shot, the NBA guard rocks a cheetah print 3.1 Phillip Lim jacket, a John Elliott shirt, True Religion jeans (from his collection) and Bottega Veneta shoes.
“A lot of people may like to wear nice clothes, but some do not really understand where fashion comes from,” said Russell. “I took the time to do my research and learn about the fashion world before I was able to get in to it. I had the pleasure of sitting down with Anna Wintour and Andre Leon Talley to pick their brains about the origins of fashion and how it all began. Now, I have my own brand with Barney’s and True Religion. I’ve been able to create this space for myself as a designer while still playing basketball.”
Super Bowl MVP Von Miller is another baller who loves to play with his fashion selections. While he may refer to himself as a self-proclaimed nerd, he loves to dabble in fashion putting together different looks that reflect his personality.
“Fashion is my individuality,” said Von. “With the Denver Broncos, we have the most stylish team in the NFL and I think I’m right up there with the leaders of the pack. But it just didn’t start over night. One guy started dressing really nice and then the next guy and it just kind of caught fire after that. My favorite accessory would be my glasses but I wouldn’t even call it an accessory because it’s something I need every day. When you think of Von you think of glasses and I took off with it and embraced the geek and the dork in me. Hats are huge in my wardrobe as well—cowboy hats, fur hats. I’m a Texan through and through. I’m a country boy. When I go to the city I see shiny new stuff and I get it. When I get to the country, I combine both of the styles and put the glasses on there and you’ve got Von Miller.”

Celebs stepped out to party it up at Sports Illustrated's Fashionable 50 NYC Event held at Vandal last night. Of course, Victor was in the building to celebrate being the top fashionable athlete in the game.

#RHOA: Kenya Moore Shares Photo of Nearly Finished Moore Manor
The race between Kenya Moore’s Moore Manor and Sheree Whitfield’s Chateau Sheree is nearly over, at least according to a new photo from Kenya.
On April 12, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star shared a photo of her nearly completed abode, which we must admit looks absolutely stunning.
Gone is the ditch Kenya’s incomplete residence once rested in — which Sheree will not let her forget — and in its place is a paved driveway and some light landscaping off to the side. Kenya’s got plants, y’all.
The house, though only partially visible in this snap, looks exactly like the modern home RHoA’s resident drama queen dreamed of. The large windows and sleek lines give the mansion a contemporary feel, while the wood paneling makes it cozy and inviting — the perfect place to raise a family!

As Kenya explains in the caption, she’s really down to the nitty gritty now, waiting on people to put in the quartz she ordered for her kitchen and bathroom.
“They flew in their best installer from Italy just to make sure my kitchen and master bathroom is perfect,” the 45-year-old explains. “I'm so excited!”
When Andy Cohen asked Kenya about her house during the RHoA Season 8 Reunion, the former Miss USA mentioned her boyfriend, Matt Jordan, would likely be moving into Moore Manor when it’s finished.
So it looks like 2016 is shaping up to be a big year for Kenya!
#TEAMEMPIRE: ‘Empire’ Cable Rights Acquired By TV One
TV One has acquired the exclusive cable rights to Fox’s mega hit drama series Empire. The deal with Twentieth Television was announced by TV One president Brad Siegel ahead of the network’s upfront presentation. Empire will debut on TV One, which caters to African American audiences, in May with marathons of the second season leading up to second season finale on Fox. Episodes from both the first and second seasons of the series will begin airing on TV One on a weekly basis this summer.
The traditional off-network model has broadcast drama series debutting on cable networks no earlier than the fall when the TVOne_Logo_TAG_Smallshows enter their fourth season. But that model has been overhauled dramatically in the era of online streaming. Dramas, especially serialized ones, have been harder to sell in cable but have found a bourgeoning second window on streaming platforms, which have become a viable off-network alternative for serialized dramas. The deal setup for Empire on TV One resembles binge viewing, with the Season 2 marathon helping viewers to catch up so they can tune into the finale on Fox. Last spring, Empire’s exclusive streaming rights were acquired by Hulu.
Starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson, Empire centers on the head of a music empire whose three sons and ex-wife battle for his throne.
“We are ecstatic to partner with 20th Television and Imagine in showcasing one of the biggest hits in television history,” said Siegel.
From Imagine Television in association with 20th Century Fox Television, the series was created by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong, and is executive produced by Daniels, Strong, Academy Award and Emmy Award-winning producer Brian Grazer, Ilene Chaiken, Francie Calfo and Sanaa Hamri.

J Dilla’s long lost vocal album The Diary is almost here. After teasing the LP with “Gangsta Boogie” and a live premiere of “The Sickness,” the late great artist’s estate has unleashed the latter cut off the project, which is set to drop Friday (Apr. 15).

The previously unreleased track mashes Nas with the legendary beatsmith over Madlib’s head-knocking production. While Dilla boasts about his one-of-a-kind nature, the Mass Appeal boss brags about his many business ventures. It’s a special song too because it’s set to be one of two exclusive iTunes bonus cuts.
There is a Rihanna Documentary in the Works
A Rihanna documentary is on the way. As the superstar shatters Billboard records and travels the globe on her “ANTI World Tour,” Film 45 has announced that it will produce a new documentary on the “Work” songstress.
Deadline calls the doc a “contemporary take on the 1967 Bob Dylan rock doc Don’t Look Back.” According to the report, the film will give fans an “unfiltered look into Rihanna’s life and how she’s ascended to become a global icon.”
There is no release date or timetable at the moment.
Peter Berg, who runs Film 45 and who gave Rihanna her first acting break in 2012’s Battleship, is set to direct. Berg also runs the movie and TV production company Film 44. He recently launched the company to focus on non-scripted entertainment and the Rihanna doc is one of its first projects.
The announcement comes as Rihanna’s “Work”—her 14th No. 1—remains at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for an eighth consecutive week, tying her with The Beatles for the second-most total weeks at No. 1.
Kevin Hart Talks His Pricey Upcoming Wedding, Reveals Why He Wasn’t Allowed to Star in ‘Baywatch’
Apparently nude beaches are frowned upon in Baywatch! Comedian Kevin Hart may be starring alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the upcoming film, Central Intelligence, but he couldn’t score a spot in The Rock’s upcoming Baywatch reboot.
“You know what, I try but they wouldn’t let me go nude,” Hart quipped to ET’s Cameron Mathison at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. “I said ‘Look man.’ I said ‘My trunks got to come off, if I’m gonna be in there. I’m trying to do a different type of slow-mo run.’ They said, ‘No. No, Kevin, you can’t have it.’”
Joking aside, Hart was incredibly complimentary of Johnson’s work ethic and talent.
“He’s a guy who understands the business,” Hart said. “He understands the importance of putting in 110 percent effort into himself and to his brand. That dedication pays off and it shows. So I’m lucky to have a guy to be by my side that I can feel I’m protected by when we’re shooting.”
Hart doesn’t quite have the same protection when it comes to his upcoming wedding to fiancée Eniko Parrish.
“I’m looking at numbers, everything she says to me, I’m like ‘Yeah, that’s great. It’s gonna be nice. How much?’” he joked.
So how far does Hart need to delve into his wallet for his big day?
“You know, we there. We there,” he said. “We’re in some crazy places right now, but it’s all worth it. You know why? Because this is the woman that I love. And I want my woman to have a perfect day. That’s what any man should want.
“See how I just turned that around? Ladies just melted.”

Rihanna helped a brave young fan admit to his friends that he’s gay. She talked him through the whole process, responded to his fears and gave him huge support towards making the bold move. And the only reason we even know about her amazing act of kindness is the fan himself has let the world know how much she helped him!
RiRi responded after the fan direct messaged her on Twitter and said,”I just wanna live as the person I really am, not a liar,” and be prepared for her MIND BLOWINGLY INCREDIBLE response:
“Baby it’s okay to be scared but it’s more important to be who you are. You don’t have a choice really! That’s not a decision to be made! You are who you are and as hard as it may seem, the best sh*t ever is freedom and peace within yourself! Your family may not understand, but luckily you live in a generation that does. And not to mention the community among us, we will hold you down boo!” WOW….she is giving inspiration to her fans!
But her amazing piece of advice didn’t stop with that one message. She actually kept in touch with her fan – who wishes to remain anonymous – to check in on his progress. Atlanta’s own “King of the South” T.I. hosted a special VIP screening of the new film KEANU at Regal Cinemas Atlantic Station. The hilarious movie has some of the greatest stars from comedy and hip hop.
Check out the details Hundreds packed the theater for a chance to preview the highly-anticipated comedy “Keanu”. Cast members Jordan Peele, Keegan-Michael Key, Method Man and Jason Mitchell were on hand to thank the crowd for their support.
