The Daily Buzz For Feb 25

Monica Rocks The Cover Of ‘Sheen’ Magazine’s March/April 2016 Issue
Monica is a burgundy bombshell on the cover of Sheen magazine’s March/April issue. The “Code Red” singer poses in a white, lacy two piece set – and rocks a dark lip that matches her wavy tresses.
“Holding the spotlight for over 20 years as an R&B megastar, it’s no surprise that MONICA is the Cover Girl of the March/April 2016 Social Media Mania issue,” writes Sheen. “MONICA’s elegant demeanor and sultry music has garnered love from admirers worldwide and her intimate Q&A Twitter sessions only further fans adoration.”
Meanwhile, she tells the magazine that what she talks about and shares the most “is what is important to me, that being first and foremost my faith and next to my faith is my family.”

#RHOA: Phaedra Does Not Think Kenya Moore’s Apology Was Sincere To Kim or Cynthia
Phaedra Parks attended her first couple’s trip as a single woman, and she had a great time in Jamaica on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Phaedra managed to stay out of the drama and enjoy herself, which left a lot of time for laughing and impressions. Phaedra and Nene performed a sketch of how Kim should approach Kenya, and from her past experience Phaedra had a lot of material to work with. Phaedra had fans laughing out loud this week, and its great to see how far she’s come since her fallout with Apollo. This week in her Bravo Blog Phaedra weighs in on Kenya’s apologies and dishes on her favorite RHOA cast trips!

Bravotv.com: How do you feel about the possibility of Sheree and Bob getting back together?

Phaedra Parks: I’ve known Sheree and Bob for years. I have a great deal of respect and admiration for both of them. Bob is super smart and extremely witty. Sheree is a great mother and a tough cookie! I’ve always felt that the true measure of a man is not based on the mistakes he has made, but how he evolves from those mistakes and becomes a better person. Bob seems to genuinely care about Sheree and is working on bettering himself for the sake of a possible future together. It’s very easy to throw the past in someone’s face, but I think it is more important for people to work towards the future. Everybody knows that every saint has a past and every sinner has a future.

Bravotv.com: Do you think Kenya was sincere in her apologies to Kim and Cynthia?
PP: No, but that is not my story to tell. Time will tell whether or not the apology was sincere. Actions always speak louder than words.

Bravotv.com: Among all of the trips you’ve taken with these ladies, where does this one fall on the list in terms of your favorites?
PP: I would rate this trip in the top three. My all-time favorite trip was when I took the ladies to Africa. My second favorite trip was to the Million Man March in Washington, D.C. Our Jamaica trip is in a close tie with the Philippines. I enjoy our trips most when there is a philanthropic element and we are able to truly appreciate the culture.

Xoxo,
Phaedra

Thoughts on Phaedra’s blog? Did you enjoy her on the RHOA cast trip? Do you think Sheree and Bob should get back together? What about Kenya’s apologies; do you think either of them were sincere?

America's Next Top Model Is Coming Back—Without Tyra Banks
Well, that didn't take long!  It's only been four months since Tyra Banks announced the end of America's Next Top Model, and the reality modeling competition is already getting a revival. VH1 announced that it is reinventing the show and bringing it back to New York City for a 14-episode season.

And no, Tyra herself will not be continuing on in the hopes of becoming America's Next Top Model. Not as host, at least. The creator is still serving as executive producer, but she'll stay involved behind the scenes for the new installment.

"After creating an incredible, global brand, I am beyond excited to have the show reborn," Banks said in a statement. "I will continue as executive producer, but must turn my attention to new business endeavors, so I want to find a new host.  I'm pumped to identify that person and bring back the show. Top Model fans, you demanded that the show come back, and VH1 answered the call. Get ready for a fierce-a-fied rebirth!"
Banks announced her landmark series would end after Cycle 22, which saw Nyle DiMarco crowned winner—the first deaf winner and second male winner in ANTM history.

"We're thrilled to bring America's Next Top Model back to VH1 and partner with CBS Television Distribution and Tyra Banks to reinvent this franchise for a whole new generation," Chris McCarthy, General Manager of VH1, said in a statement announcing the news. "This is a homecoming for the series, as VH1 helped catapult the show to cultural icon status as the first cable network to air the show after it launched."

A new host, cast and premiere date will be announced in the coming months.

Nike Plans To Retro Every Kobe Bryant Signature Sneaker This Year
If you missed out on the Nike Kobe 1 through 10, you're in luck.
Kobe Bryant has been having what is probably the ideal finale season, at least in terms of the respect he’s getting. His on-court play hasn’t been anything to write home about, but he’s exhibited poise as every team pays homage to the legendary Los Angeles Laker, most recently getting a personal video tribute from his former teammate Pau Gasol during a trip to Chicago. Kobe has also been giving out his sneakers left and right to younger players, but now Nike wants to give fans a chance to get in on the Kobe Bryant Farewell Tour™.

Nike’s Kobe sneaker line has been extremely successful for the brand, and to commemorate the shoe’s namesake, they’re going to release a retro of every Nike Kobe sneaker that’s released since the line’s inception. Nike has been listening to fans, because they’re also including the Nike Zoom Huarache 2k4, not part of the signature sneaker line, but widely considered to be his first “unofficial” signature sneaker.

Called the “Fade to Black” collection, each sneaker will be priced at $200. The colors look like they will start off pure white with the Nike Zoom Huarache 2k4 and then will slowly transition to darker colors until the Kobe 11, which will be all black. It’s a great motif. Jordin Sparks’ Relationship With Sage The Gemini: All For Show?!
Tinseltown romance is always tricky, and it sounds like Sage the Gemini only dated Jordin Sparks to help boost his album sales.
On Monday (February 22) Sage’s ex-fiancée Curium Hurley leaked a phone conversation she had with her former man- "Everything was f--kin' horrible,” says Gemini. “That s--t was f--king dumb. She got on my nerves. I wanted to stab her. All of that s--t. Don't get me wrong, she's cool, she's level-headed, whatever, but she's not no regular person . . . Everybody on the outside looking in [thinks] it's hella perfect."

Sage also explained how he was scolded for removing a photo of Sparks from his social media accounts- "My manager was like, 'No, bring it back. How the hell are you going to sell the album?'" However, last week, Gemini posted a message via Instagram in an effort to patch things up with Jordin- "I miss you too much. To watch you look so amazing at the [Clive] Davis [pre-Grammys] party and not be able to call you and express how much I appreciated the look because you won’t answer nor text back. The feeling is horrible." So far, Sparks has remained silent.

Chanel Iman Talks ‘Sports Illustrated,’ Being An African American Woman In The Modeling Industry & Beyoncé With ESSENCE
Chanel Iman stuns on the pages of Sports Illustrated’s newest swimsuit issue. The gorgeous 25-year-old model poses with pythons in one photo, and is also snapped alongside Maasai warriors in another.
ESSENCE recently caught up with Chanel to talk everything from being an African American woman in the modeling industry to why Beyoncé is so special to her.

“I feel very blessed to be one of the Sports Illustrated girls this year,” she says of her feature in the issue. “Sports Illustrated gives us models a voice and the opportunity to venture out and do our own thing. It’s just one of those things that you pray that you get and when it comes you’re very grateful for it.”
On being an African American woman in the industry, she says she feels a sense of responsibility:
I’m proud of being an African-American woman and I just feel like I represent our people and I just want to do my best and show the world that Black is beautiful as well. There are a lot of struggles that I have to deal with but that’s a part of it. For all of us. We have to fight so much harder but I think that’s what’s so amazing is that when we achieve something it’s that much more empowering to others.

On Beyonce coming to mind when she thinks of the magic of black women:
Beyoncé is always a significant moment for me. For her to have me in the ‘Yoncé’ video, I didn’t think that was possible. I was just a little girl listening to her music, pretending i was her, making up dance routines at a sleepover. I never knew that I would meet her, let alone be in her music video. And have her be a woman that supports me. She’s so special to me.
“Everything that she drops I get goosebumps,” Chanel says when talking Bey’s “Formation.” “I’m definitely in the Beyhive.” Well I’m not! LOL!

AND FINALLY FROM “THE CRAZY PEOPLE SHOPPING AT WALMART” FILES
‘ALONG FOR THE RIDE
This is like the climactic chase scene in every shoot-em-up movie. I’m just waiting for this kid to make his move and go in for the kill.

HAVE A GREAT DAY ALL!!!
