The Daily Buzz For Nov 11

Karrueche Tran Covers KONTROL Magazine, Says She’s Not Mentally Ready For Dating After Chris Brown Breakup
In addition to Sanaa Lathan, Karrueche Tran is also rockin’  for KONTROL magazine’s November/December “Indulge in Fashion” issue.

The 27-year-old model ended her relationship with Chris Brown in March, after discovering he had fathered a child (now 1-year-old daughter Royalty) with another woman – and she tells the publication that she hasn’t been on the dating scene since their breakup.
“I haven’t really explored dating yet and I’m not sure if I’m mentally there just because of all the stuff that I’ve been through,” she says. “It’s a lot to open up to somebody. I think people are intimidated by the drama [from my past relationship] and not wanting to deal with it because it’s an ongoing story. I’m very guarded and very to myself.”
She also reveals that when she first started dating Chris, she used to try to keep a low-profile so there wouldn’t be so much attention on her – but admits that she has kind of gotten used to it now: “In the beginning of my relationship, I used to shy away from it but you can’t really control it. I wasn’t used to it. I would be in the way back or go way ahead. Now I’m kind of used to it…  “Social Media is like an open book” she notes, “anybody can say anything at anytime”
Karrueche adds that ultimately, experience has been her best teacher: “I learn through experiences and from my mistakes. [Even] my mom never gave me relationship advice. She told me just keep yourself happy.”

On her role as Vanessa Ivy in the StyleHaul produced web series Vanity – she expresses that although she just started acting, it has been therapeutic. “My character is the b*tch on the show, which is fun to play because I’m not a b*tch!” she says. “I just started [acting] but it is therapeutic. I’m so bottled up and I don’t like to express myself or show my emotions so being able to let that out through characters without feeling like I’m exposing myself too much is pretty cool.”

#RHoA: Todd Tucker Calls Phaedra Parks Shiesty
Last year Phaedra Parks went to court to defend her reputation after her former friend Angela Stanton accused Phaedra of being the criminal mastermind behind a stolen car ring.

Will Phaedra sue Kandi Burruss' husband Todd Tucker next…?
On the season 8 premier of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Kandi opened up about her strained relationship with Phaedra explaining,
"Back when Phaedra was pregnant with Mr. President, she wanted to do a workout video, and Todd told her we can do it for you for a fraction of the price. Phaedra didn't release her video. I mean, I guess there was so much stressful things that the DVD went on the back burner for her. Todd doesn't care about the DVD being released, he just wants his final payment."

Todd was even more blunt pointing out,
“I don't f--k with you because you shady…shiesty...You didn't pay me my money and you're talking s--t and in my face smiling like it's all good. If you're doing that to us, there's no telling what you'd do to anybody else.”

Allen Toussaint, Iconic New Orleans Songwriter and Producer, Dead at 77
Allen Toussaint, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame songwriter, producer, pianist, performer and New Orleans legend, passed away Monday night while on tour in Spain. He was 77. Toussaint suffered a heart attack at his hotel after performing at Madrid's Teatro Lara earlier in the night; after being resuscitated, he suffered a second, fatal heart attack en route to the hospital, the BBC reports.

The Grammy-winning Toussaint was one of the Big Easy's most influential, beloved and iconic musicians, having penned oft-covered songs like "Working in the Coal Mine," "Mother-in-Law," "Fortune Teller," "Southern Nights," "Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley," "Get Out of My Life, Woman" and countless more. Toussaint's songs were recorded by the likes of Jerry Garcia, Ringo Starr, Little Feat, Robert Palmer, the Yardbirds, Glen Campbell, Bonnie Raitt, the Band, Warren Zevon, the Rolling Stones and many more.
Born in 1938 in New Orleans, Toussaint began playing piano at age seven and broke into the music industry by his teens when he was recruited to sit in for a recording session that fellow New Orleans great Fats Domino couldn't attend. By 1960, Toussaint was serving as chief songwriter at Minit Records, where he penned Ernie K-Doe's chart-topping "Mother-in-Law." After a stint in the military, Toussaint returned to form the production company Sansu with Marshall Sehorn, which resulted in the Lee Dorsey hits "Ride Your Pony," "Working in the Coal Mine" and "Holy Cow."

Toussaint also played a pivotal role of formulating a unique style of soul, funk and R&B that became emblematic of New Orleans. Toussaint served as producer for the Meters, who got their start as Toussaint's backing band on Sansu before becoming one of the greatest funk acts of their era. Toussaint and Sehorn also built their Sea-Saint Studio in New Orleans, which became a go-to for local musicians like Dr. John and the Neville Brothers as well as superstars like Paul McCartney – who recorded portions of Wings' 1975 LP Venus and Mars with Toussaint on piano at the studio – and Paul Simon, New Orleans' WWL writes. Labelle also recorded the Toussaint-produced "Lady Marmalade" at the studio.
For all his contributions to New Orleans' musical legacy, a life-size bronze statue of Toussaint was placed in a park off the city's Bourbon Street, making him the eighth musician honored by the city. However, Hurricane Katrina ravaged Toussaint's home and studio in 2005, forcing the musician to take a more prominent role in the spotlight as opposed to just songwriting; he toured frequently in the years following Katrina and collaborated on an album with Elvis Costello in 2006 titled The River in Reverse.
Toussaint was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 and is similarly enshrined in the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame and the Blues Hall of Fame. In 2013, Toussaint was awarded a National Medal of the Arts. "After his hometown was battered by Katrina and Allen was forced to evacuate, he did something even more important for his city — he went back," President Barack Obama said at the award ceremony. "And since then, Allen has devoted his musical talent to lifting up and building up a city. And today, he's taking the stage all over the world, with all kinds of incredible talent, doing everything he can to revive the legendary soul of the Big Easy."
"Watching Allen changed me forever. He was the link from our past to the future of New Orleans music," Preservation Jazz Hall Band's Ben Jaffe tells Rolling Stone. "He touched me in ways he'll never know. About this time last year, we joined Mr. Toussaint on tour. There was a moment every night Mr. Toussaint would remain onstage, all by himself, and perform and sing and play and tell stories. Every night, I was glued to the stage. His legacy will live on through all of us."

At the time of his death, Toussaint was scheduled to perform with friend Paul Simon at a December 8th benefit for New Orleans Artists Against Hunger and Homelessness, a charity Toussaint helped found.

Also Caitlyn Jenner Named Transgender Champion at Glamour Women of the Year Awards
Caitlyn Jenner accepted the Transgender Champion award at Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards ceremony.

She accepted her award in a custom Moschino gown……via E!
Recalling her long transition, Jenner explained that she spent many nights wondering what she should do about her life, and confessing that she spent a lot of time isolating herself and lying to the world. But finally, a time came when she had to open up to those who mean the most—her kids.

“So I sat down with each one of my ten children and it was the big secret in the family that no one could talk about because I was getting destroyed in the tabloids every week, walking through the grocery line looking at the headlines and so were my children and it was hurtful. So I sat each of them down and said, this is my story. This is who I am.”

Caitlyn added that she also had conversations with God, and ultimately came to the conclusion that maybe being her authentic life is her purpose on this Earth, so she could make a difference in the world. “What a great opportunity in life to have, so few of us ever get the opportunity,” she said.

And then, the 66-year-old revealed one of the biggest personal milestones she recently achieved.
“Over the last six months, it has been the most eye-opening experience of my life. For years and years, I never felt like I fit in anywhere. I always felt as an outsider. I never felt good on the male side and I wasn’t obviously on the female side. I was kind of stuck in the middle, but all of a sudden, after making this decision and coming out, it was by far the best thing I ever did, because for so many years, I lost my enthusiasm for life. I literally would be standing in my house for almost six years because I never wanted to come out, just to go to work, that’s about it. Now, actually, I like going out and I like being myself.

“To Glamour magazine, I got to tell you a story quickly. I haven’t been on the airlines for over a year. Why? Because I haven’t had an authentic ID. Finally, last week I got my driver’s license and gender marker F. It’s always the little things in life. I am sitting on the plane for the first time reading Glamour magazine and not having to fold over the cover so no one can see what I was actually reading, and I had it opened up beautifully and just reading through Glamour magazine was absolutely great. So thank you, Glamour magazine for honoring me tonight. I never in a million years thought I’d be here and I am sure you didn’t either.”

Congrats Caitlyn!

Come Take a look Inside Ben Carson's eccentric Maryland Mansion
This home is complete with a shrine to himself, gold leaf columns and a portrait WITH Jesus embracing him! Pictures of Carson's 48-acre mansion in Upperco, Maryland, reveal insight into the mind of retired neurosurgeon
Carson bought the eight-bedroom, 12-bathroom, property in Baltimore County, with his wife Lacena in 2001
The family room features a massive wall dedicated to Carson's career with countless awards, pictures and diplomas
He’s a celebrated neurosurgeon who denies evolution. He is also a devout Christian facing claims he has lied about certain aspects of his life story.
And these pictures of Ben Carson’s Maryland mansion reveal a further insight into the eccentric mind of the embattled Republican presidential candidate.

A marble engraving on a wall proclaims: ‘By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches and honor and life – poverbs 22:4'. Unfortunately, Proverbs is misspelt.
Above that, is a portrait of Carson in his surgeon’s coat. Over in the hallway, is another striking portrait of Carson… with Jesus. Carson is again, wearing a surgeon’s coat over scrubs, and Jesus has an arm on his shoulder.
And in the family room, is a spectacular shrine to the 64-year-old - with almost every inch of the wall covered in his awards, plaques and diplomas.
Also on display is a signed photograph with then-president George W. Bush and his wife Laura Bush, taken at the White House in 2008 when Carson received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor
Also on display are pictures from the movie about Carson’s life – Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story.
The film, based on his autobiography, aired on network TNT in February 2009, with Oscar-winning actor Cuba Gooding Jr. playing Carson.
Magazine articles about Carson, who found fame after becoming the first surgeon to successfully separate twins joined at the head in 1987, also feature on his wall.
Carson and his wife, who have three sons, bought the 48-acre property in Upperco, Baltimore County, in 2001 and lived there with Carson’s mother Sonya before moving to Florida.
The palatial property, boasts eight bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. It’s decorated in the Georgian style but with Corinthian columns featuring gold-leaf capitals.
These photographs, taken in 2014, are a far cry from Carson’s oft-repeated life story - beginning with a childhood living in poverty in Detroit, where his mother Sonya single-handedly raised her sons by working several jobs after their father left.
‘There’s no question I loved the idea of space,’ Carson said, of the luxurious home, in 2009.
‘Having grown up in places that were not very spacious with lots of people around, I like the idea of having your own space, and the idea of being so secluded really appealed to us.’
But in recent days, questions surrounding the accuracy of Carson’s autobiography – Gifted Hands – have dominated his presidential campaign.
It tells the story of Carson's rise from a childhood in inner-city Detroit to becoming the youngest chief of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore at 33.
As Carson is relatively new to politics, much of his career and published works are being scrutinized for the first time.
