The Daily Buzz For May 4

Rebel Wilson Is Sequin Sexy On Entertainment Weekly Cover!
Her new film “Pitch Perfect” is slated to hit theaters on May 15th, and Rebel Wilson is already hard at work on the promotional trail.
The hilarious Australian actress appears on the front of the May 8th issue of Entertainment Weekly, explaining one of the crazy stunts she performs in the flick.

Rebel ended up having to hang upside down during one of the Barden Bellas gigs, a feat she wasn’t all that thrilled about- “They tested me to see whether I had the ability to do it. I had to hang upside down for at least 30 seconds by my thighs. I was really, really scared. But Fat Amy is super confident. So I was like, ‘Here’s what I’m going to do: I’ll do it three times—that’s it. I won’t look scared in the takes and I’ll crush it.’ I was proud that I pulled it off, and it’s such a good opening.”

LOVES REBEL!

So Kenya Moore PARTIES In Vegas while showing us this MYSTERIOUS Ring!
Kenya Moore was among the celebs who descended on Las Vegas to watch boxer Floyd Mayweather defeat Manny Pacquiao during Saturday night's Fight of the Century (see our coverage here).  While we can't confirm if Kenya had "actual" fight tickets (she didn't post any ringside photos), we do know that she rocked an Azzedine Alaia dress and shoes from Yves Saint Laurent (above) for a pre-fight party at Vanity.   She also went to Nicki Minaj's post-fight party at Chateau inside the Paris Las Vegas hotel (below).

While in Vegas, Kenya posted a photo of a "ring" on Facebook that sent her fans into a tizzy.
Did Kenya run off to Vegas to get engaged? We doubt it. The ring (above) does not look like an "engagement" ring and we noticed that Kenya promptly deleted the pic from Instagram (but not off Facebook) after her fans began asking questions.
Was the ring photo simply a cry for attention? Some of her commenters are calling it it that (not us) but Kenya does enjoy inciting conversation. We've seen that first hand on "RHOA."

Now....here's a conversation we'd like to engage in: Janet Hubert is publicly claiming Kenya hasn't paid her for her work on "Life Twirls On."

In case you missed it, Janet (most famously known as the first "Aunt Viv" from the classic "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" series) is accusing Kenya and her production company of failing to pay her for shooting Kenya's "Life Twirls On" project. Now, Janet has revealed (via Facebook) that she is pursuing criminal charges against Kenya. She posted,
Criminal fraud charges for falsifying official time sheets? Identity theft?  Theses are Janet's public allegations....not ours.

While both issues would provide Kenya with another "RHOA" storyline, we all know how Ms. Hubert feels about reality tv.  She's not here for it!
It seems that Janet was further peeved once Kenya posted the "Life Twirls On" trailer on Youtube.

EYE CANDY! Chippendales Welcomes Tyson Beckford in Las Vegas
Chippendales Welcomes New Guest Star Tyson Beckford at Chippendales Theater in Las Vegas on May 1, 2015
In an interview with Las Vegas Magazine he explains what motivated him to guest host:

It helps promote my new show coming out, Chocolate City, where I play a male stripper. It also kills the stigma of male revues being raunchy and distasteful. It’s not bad. It’s really like you’re bringing happiness to a room full of women and men. I came to see it and I was just like, I felt like I was on the set of Chocolate City again. Imagine if Chocolate City and Magic Mike all got together and did one movie where one strip club battles the other strip club. It would be amazing. This is the summer of male strippers.
You’ve got Chocolate City (opening out May 22) and (Magic Mike) coming out Fourth of July weekend. It’s going to be very educating for the women. The men, of course, better get themselves in the gym because they’ve got a lot to compete against. A lot of times when the girls get done watching the show, they’ll come back to the Flirt Lounge and do a meet-and-greet. They shoot out of here so quickly. They’re going home or they’re going to go meet that guy or look for that guy.

WATCH HIM IN ACTION:

Chocolate City hits theaters May 22.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is #1 for the weekend Box Office
The film's 2012 predecessor, The Avengers, still holds the top spot
Marvel and Disney’s Avengers: Age of Ultron pulled in a whopping $187.7 million at North American theaters over the weekend, scoring the second biggest in domestic box office history.
The Joss Whedon film has amassed $627 million globally in 12 days, Variety reports, and the new tally from box office tracker Rentrak means the superhero film’s predecessor, The Avengers (2012), still holds onto the top domestic opening weekend of $207.4 million.

Even though Age of Ultron seemed on track to claim the title—it had edged out the original film with an opening day gross of $84.5 million—potential moviegoers might’ve instead tuned into the Kentucky Derby, NBA playoffs or the Mayweather-Pacquiao boxing match.

But it’s a victory nonetheless for Marvel Studios, which now lays claim to the top three biggest domestic opening weekends in history. Marvel’s Iron Man 3 (2013) rounds out the top three at $174.1 million, with Warner Bros. Pictures’ Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2011) in fourth at $169.2 million.

This weekends remaining top 5 included The Age Of Adaline ($6.25 million), Furious 7 ($6.11 million), Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 ($5.55 million) and Home ($3.3 million.)

BLOOP! Matt Barnes Calls Colin Kaepernick “A Hoe”!
There is one person we now know is definitely not a Colin Kaepernick fan: Matt Barnes.
The LA Clippers player took to Twitter on Friday morning to congratulate Sacramento native and Oregon defensive tackle, Arik Armstead on being drafted to the San Francisco 49ers. But he also managed to throw in a snide remark about Kaepernick.

“Congrats to my young boy #ErikArmstead proud of you fam. Ur QB a hoe tho!! #SacTownStandUp,” he wrote.
It is unclear when exactly the beef started, but word on the street is that Colin hooked up with Matt’s estranged wife, Gloria Govan a while back.
Colin has yet to respond, but something tells us this could end up being a fun little social media feud to keep us entertained until tomorrow’s big Maywweather versus Pacquiao fight.

MC Lyte On Unrest In Baltimore: “We Just Need Mutual Respect”
MC Lyte is speaking out about the recent unrest in Baltimore and the death of Freddie Gray.
Although citizens across the nation are rightfully angered by rising tensions, Lyte is suggesting that there needs to be “mutual respect” across the board.

“There has to be a better way for police to do what they do and for us as people, as citizens,” Lyte told HipHollywood exclusively. “There needs to be a retraining or something that puts in respect. We just need mutual respect in how it is we are spoken to and how it is that we speak to them [police].”

The 44-year-old continued, “There is so much anger that lives within, at times we are speaking ill mannered to others and when it snaps back on us it’s like we are shocked … I just think that we need a grounds by which everyone is equal but yet we understand the purpose of police and we try to make their jobs easy without giving them the slightest bit of a reason to pull out a gun.”

Gray died on April 19 of spinal injuries, one week after being taken into police custody. On Friday morning, prosecutors confirmed that six officers were charged in the death of Freddie.

SPEAKING OF BALTIMORE…………
Baltimore mayor lifts curfew 6 days after riots
Six days after the death of Freddie Gray sparked riots in Baltimore, the city's mayor lifted a citywide curfew on Sunday morning, signaling an end to the extraordinary measures taken to ensure public safety amid an outcry over police practices.
The order for residents to stay home between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. had been in place since Tuesday, and officials had planned to maintain it through Monday morning. Protests since Monday's riots have been peaceful, and Friday's announcement of charges against six officers involved in Gray's arrest eased tensions.
Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake said in a statement that she didn't want the curfew to continue any longer than necessary.
"My number one priority in instituting a curfew was to ensure the public peace, safety, health and welfare of Baltimore citizens," the Democratic mayor said. "It was not an easy decision, but one I felt was necessary to help our city restore calm."

A$AP ROCKY: I’M A LSD/METH HEAD!
As he preps his second album A.L.L.A. for a May 12th release and his new movie DOPE out June 19th, controversial rapper ASAP Rocky sat with BILLBOARD for a shockingly candid interview about drug use, death and the Baltimore uprising.
A$AP told that magazine that the death of his mentor A$AP Yams hit him pretty hard, and he's been using LSD to cope with life all together.

He also opens up about Freddie Gray and the Baltimore uprising, revealing that he's indifferent to social issues and does not plan to get involved.

SMH......and the children are our future.  Peep the highlights:

On the loss of A$AP Yams:
"But he showed me that there are people who can be born from another woman and another man but be as loyal to you as a blood brother, if not more. He had my back, man. Me and him had the same vision, and he knew how to help me reach it.”

On the recent police killings in Ferguson, NYC, etc:
"All it does is make me cringe. There's not really much I could do, because I ain't about to shoot no cop in the head, blow his f---ing head off, right now. So I just sit back and pray for the best. If I'm not going to Ferguson or any of these places, protesting or contributing, I should shut the f--- up. So that's exactly what I'm going to do. It ain't my place to speak on it."

On the roll LSD plays in his recording process:
"It helps me cope with life," he says. "I've been doing this stuff since I got into the industry. People are scared to talk about it." He says he likes psychedelics because his life is psychedelic. "It's trippy. My art, my visuals. Very trippy."

Read the full cover story here and don't forget that A$AP Rocky stars in the new indie-comedy Dope with Tony Revolori (“The Grand Budapest Hotel”), Kiersey Clemons (Amazon’s “Transparent”), Blake Anderson (“Workaholics”), Zoe Kravitz and Chanel Iman. DOPE opens on June 19th.

Hopefully, someone steps in and school ASAP about his drug use.  Because we dont see it ending well....

Beyoncé the Record Executive? She Signs Teen Singers
Jay Z isn’t the only manager in the Carter household. Beyoncé has signed three teens to her management company, Parkwood Entertainment.
There has yet to be a formal announcement of the signings, but the news was discovered via court docs.

Reports the New York Post: The superstar is asking a Manhattan judge to approve the five-year deals, a requirement because the girls are minors, The Post’s Julia Marsh reports.
The first contract covers LA-based sisters Chloe Bailey, 17, and Halle Bailey, 15. Beyoncé’s manager came across a YouTube video of the duo belting out “Pretty Hurts,” a song from Beyoncé’s last album. The video has over 10 million views.

Their father, Douglas, gushes in court papers, “We cannot think of a better person to help guide the girls,” adding his daughters “worship” Bey. Their $1 million contract provides for up to six albums over five years. It awards Beyoncé 15 percent of the sisters’ gross earnings.
Beyoncé also signed a third singer, 14-year-old Sophie Beem of New York, to her Parkwood Entertainment company.
Beem inked a $560,000 deal after she wowed Parkwood executives. Beem finished in the top 40 contestants on “The X Factor” in 2012.

Beyoncé the record exec? Why not?

Lil’ Kim’s Ex-Boyfriend Guilty Of Ordering 6 Murders
Lil’ Kim‘s ex-boyfriend served up over a handful of hits, but we’re not talking music. Damion “World” Hardy was found guilty of ordering six murders in Brooklyn.
Reports the New York Post:
A schizophrenic former drug kingpin – who once dated rapper Lil’ Kim – was found guilty in Brooklyn federal court Wednesday of ordering six murders.
Damion “World” Hardy, who led a drug crew that terrorized the Lafayette Gardens projects in Bedford-Stuyvesant during the late 1990s, was also convicted of drug dealing, attempted murder and kidnapping.
He faces a mandatory life term.

Hardy, who once feuded with former heavyweight champ Mike Tyson over the death of the boxer’s pal, was expressionless as the verdict was read.
He was heavily medicated during the trial to subdue his taste for courtroom rants.
The defense tried to for years to convince a judge that Hardy—who once schemed on robbing rappers—was not fit to stand trial due to his schizophrenia. However, the judge felt he was just sane enough.
Ultimately, Hardy was done in thanks to people from his own crew snitching on him in court.
The struggle is very real.
