Empire’s Taraji P. Henson Dishes On How She Turned $700 Into Hollywood Stardom
Taraji P. Henson, aka Cookie Lyon from FOX’s new hit show Empire, recently chatted it up with PEOPLE about how she got her start in Hollywood – with only $700 in her pocket.
“People thought I was crazy,” says Taraji, who decided to leave her lucrative job back home in Washington, D.C., to take a shot at making it big in Hollywood, told PEOPLE.
“My dad knew that acting was my calling,” she said. “One day, he looked at me and said, ‘How do you expect to catch fish on dry land?’ So I moved out here with my son with $700 in our pocket.”
She also admits that success didn’t come easily: “You just have to stay the course and not getting distracted or compare yourself to others,” she explains. “You have to really stay focused and stay grounded.”
And when sharing how her son Marcel feels about her success, she said:
He’s been with me through this whole process, so he’s known my struggle. He’s very proud because he knows what I’ve been working so hard for. He’s like, ‘Mom, you’re finally getting what you’ve always wanted.’

Laura Govan SUFFERED A MISCARRIAGE with her 5th CHILD.
Laura Govan has taken to Instagram, opening up about a very touchy topic. The former Basketball Wives LA star reveals that she’s been privately dealing with a miscarriage. In her personal post, she admits that the experience has left her exhausted, but thanks to a support system, she’s prepared to move forward. She writes:
I wanted to share something with U guys and why I’ve been out of the loop, well #NRealLife for the past three months I’ve been sick, and extremely exhausted and about a month ago I found out that I was pregnant with my 5th baby, which I thought was impossible. Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage. When it happened I didn’t want to talk about or deal with it, but now I’m ready to get my life back on track!
She continues: I gained a good 15 pounds during this rough time in my life. I want you to rock with me as I take this journey of losing the weight and getting ME back …. because this is something REAL that happens every day to women like you and me and it’s real easy to feel alone, confused and unsure about how to handle or deal with the struggle. Thank God for my REAL friends and family who allowed me to do me and take some time away to get back to focus.

While we haven't heard a word from Chris Brown (officially) about his new status Fans...and trolls...took to Instagram and Twitter to blast the "No Bullsh*t" singer for not acknowledging the story about his daughter, 9-month old Royalty. His response..."I don't owe you nosey muhfuckahs a damn thing".
You might have missed that statement in his comments on one of his recent posts, but he's pretty clear. He's not ready to talk about it...and that goes for baby momma Nia Guzman too. By the way, she was previously reportedly married and that is why her last name is currently Guzman.
According to sources at TMZ, part of Chris' super secret child support deal with Nia was that she remain silent about the baby. In fact, they say she's getting A LOT of money now, actually more than she would get if paperwork was involved. But that could all change....
Chris' legal team believes Nia has leaked stories about their relationship, so now, they're preparing legal docs to put a formal child support order in place. Whereas paperwork would be a good thing for most side chicks, Royalty and Nia are expected to get LESS money once a judge grants a formal order.
SMH....this is one case where Nia would stand to gain financially for staying out of the court system and keeping her mouth shut. Oh wells....maybe this is part of a grand scheme for fame?

Click, flash! Nia Guzman Amey doesn't understand the concept of being of low-key. A few days ago we learned about the existence of her 9-month old daughter with alleged father Chris Brown, and today, we've got pics from last year's baby shower! Is Nia walking us through her "celebrity" pregnancy, though the steps are out of order?
You'll recall that Nia was allegedly initially given a large amount of hush money child support until Chris could make a formal announcement about Royalty, but that all went out of the window once someone (likely Nia) leaked news about Royalty.
In the meantime, pics from Nia's baby shower (held in Houston in 2014) have "leaked" too. Nia was feted by about 40 friends who gifted her with baby Gucci boots, a pair of baby Converse and other mommy essentials. There was also a crown-topped cake and a diaper changing contest. Store Owner’s “White History Month” Celebration Sparks Outrage
Come on, son. A New Jersey deli owner found it appropriate to publicly celebrate “white history month,” as if there would be no pushback.
via CBS New York: A sign in a store window stirred up racial tension in Flemington, New Jersey this week.
The sign in the window of Jimbo’s Deli on Main Street says “Celebrate your white heritage in March. White History Month,” as first reported by the Hunterdon County Democrat,
“The ‘white’ had a cross. It was a cross ‘t,’ which is used by the Ku Klux Klan as a symbol, right,” said Bhakti Curtis.
Curtis, a bi-racial neighbor, said he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He confronted the owner, Jim Boggess. “He didn’t have a clue why I was offended and then why other people would be upset about it neither,” he said.
WCBS 880 couldn’t reach Boggess for comment, but he told the Hunterdon County Democrat, “No matter what you are — Muslim, Jewish, black, white, gay, straight — you should be proud of what you are. I shouldn’t have to feel bad about being white. I just want to be included. Why is this such a big deal? I don’t get it.”
However, the sign has been taken down and Boggess has apologized to Curtis, NJ.com reported Thursday.
The issue was resolved, but not without locals picking sides in the dispute. “I never meant it to be a black/white thing. I only meant it to be a white thing,” Boggess told NJ.com. How he was so optimistic is beyond us.
RZA Fires Back At Method Man & XXL For Once Upon A Time In Shaolin Misinformation
Method Man sent shockwaves through the Wu-Tang Clan temple yesterday when he coldly flipped the middle finger towards the group’s long ballyhooed album, Once Upon A Time In Shaolin. XXL magazine informed the veteran MC that the RZA was planning to release the album in 2103–88 years from now–in concurrence to widespread reports.
While The Abbott let those initial reports go, he took a great exception to Mr. Meth saying “f*ck that album,” and made a very rare Twitter public service announcement.
“I normally wouldn’t respond,” RZA told a follower. “But how much could I possibly make that would compensate The work. We can’t buy back time.” Then he directed his thoughts to XXL and his Wu-Tang brethren saying, “Let us clarify for you. A 88 year “non commercialization”clause. Means corporations can’t buy it & mass produce it for sell.”

The lone copy of Once Upon A Time In Shaolin has generated enough press to get its own biographical novel. It was recently seized at JFK International airport and ran through TSA’s “rarely used highest-strength scanner.” It’s also being sold for a reported seven-figure bid.
Teddy Riley Demands $1.9 Million Lawsuit Accusing Him of Fraud Be Thrown Out!
Teddy Riley is firing back at allegations he screwed over investors out of $330K and is blasting the company suing him for $1.9 million, saying he never committed fraud. The Receivables Exchange – filed a federal lawsuit against the singer/music producer, accusing him of conspiracy and fraud.
The company explained that they are an electronic marketplace where sellers can auction off eligible receivables for sale to investors – which essentially is a company selling off debt owed to them, and then the buyer can legally collect on the money owed by the debtor
TRE says that back in 2013, Riley agreed to sell certain receivables owed to him via his TR Music Company
The company says that Riley created fake accounts receivables to sell on the marketplace — which would never be paid by the account debtor TR Music, and instead would collect the money from the sale and spread it out to the co-conspirators involved in the fraud and deceit. TRE claims Riley screwed out buyers a total of $326,480, which was paid to him in exchange for fraudulent accounts receivables. They say because of Riley’s actions, they have suffered cruel and unjust hardship due to buyers on their website being screwed over. They filed suit demanding $1.9 million dollars from Riley.
On March 4th, Riley fired back at the allegations he committed fraud and screwed out investors.
The music producer claimed the investment website has NO proof that they were harmed by any of his sales through their site. Further, he says that everything he did on the marketplace was legal and no fraud was committed on his part at all. Riley says all the investment moves he made were seen by the company and nothing was hidden and no conspiracy occurred. He says they cannot sue him especially since they lost no money out of the deals but that would be the people who invested with him.
He is demanding the $1.9 million lawsuit be dismissed and the company awarded nothing.

Last year rock star Prince staged a 'Hit and Run' tour across Europe with a series of impromptu concerts at clubs across the UK.
Now Prince is pulling a hit and run across the U.S…. Over the weekend it was announced that the first of the North American Hit and Run concerts would kick off in Louisville, KY on March 14th.

Awwwww, Boris Kodjoe PENS Birthday Letter To 10-Year Old Daughter Sophie, Praises Courageous Battle With Spina Bifida
Actor Boris Kodjoe and his wife Nicole Ari Parker celebrated the birthday of their daughter Sophie Tei Naaki Lee Kodjoe, who just turned 10-years old.
You'll recall that Sophie lives with spina bifida, a neural birth defect that can cause leg, bladder and bowel damage. Boris opened up about the disease and Sophie's struggles during a previous interview saying,
"We were blessed with a miracle child and spared of the more severe symptoms, but Sophie’s spastic bladder still forces us to catheterize her every three hours, day and night, to avoid pressure build up in her bladder and urine backflow into her kidneys. ,"
On Facebook, the Addicted star penned an open letter praising Sophie for her battle, highlighting her strength and courage.

Ciara Joins Cast Of Upcoming NBC Variety Show “I Can Do That”
Ciara will soon be hitting the small screen with a spot on NBC’s unconventional variety show, I Can Do That.
Variety reports: The series, based on an Israeli concept from Armoza Formats, will be hosted by Marlo Wayans. The six regulars set for the competition are “Dancing With the Stars” alum Cheryl Burke; singers Joe Jonas, Nicole Scherzinger and Ciara; comedian Jeff Dye; and actor Alan Ritchson.
Each week, the regulars will work in pairs to put on an act with the help of guest stars who work in other fields, such as magicians, acrobats and stunt performers. At the end of the six episodes, one of the regulars will be crowned “the ultimate entertainer.”
“The cast is amazing,” said Marlon. It’s going to be a lot of fun to work with people whose work I admire and to see them in a different light. Who wouldn’t want to work with Ciara, Nicole Scherzinger and Cheryl Burke? And my daughter said if I don’t do a show with a Jonas brother, don’t come home.”
I Can Do That is eyeing a summer debut.

Kim Kardashian isn’t the only one showing off questionable platinum locks in Paris, Jared Leto chopped off his ponytail and lamented the loss of his beard on Instagram. Thank goodness. The ombre mane was getting out of hand. Plenty of girls would love to run their fingers through Jared’s formerly long locks.
Jared’s firing up for the role of The Joker in Suicide Squad, and this hair is the start of his grand transformation. Jared talked about gaining significant weight too, but I don’t think that’s happening. It doesn’t need to happen.
Anyway. Jared showed up at the Balmain show looking like a younger version of Karl Lagerfeld. Between the hair, the clothes, and the glasses, the resemblance is uncanny. This is actually an in-between stage for Jared. His hair has simply been stripped of its color and will eventually be neon green for the role. Director David Ayer (Fury) reveals that Jared’s take on the role shall be “majestic.” Does that sound promising? This is Jared’s official followup to his Oscar win. He could score another nomination as The Joker if everything goes well. I’m betting his performance will be the best thing about this movie.

OOOH, Lady Gaga’s Bodyguard Chokes Fan In Paris
Wherever she goes she attracts quite a crowd, and Lady Gaga had a security issue while out and about in Paris, France this week.
The “Just Dance” songstress exited her hotel during Paris Fashion Week when an overzealous fan got a little too close and wound up in what some news outlets are calling a “chokehold” courtesy of one of Mother Monster’s beefy bodyguards.
