The Daily Buzz For Feb 20

Kevin Durant and James HARDING take over GQ and Sports Illustrated Magazines!

Kevin Durant is GQ’s March 2015 cover story. The 26-year-old five-time NBA All-Star player speaks candidly about his life off the court, sharing why his engagement ended (Durant was engaged to WNBA player Monica Wright); being a self-described a**hole on the court; folk poking fun of his MVP speech seeing death at such an early age.

Splitting from his fiancee, Monica Wright, who was his high school sweetheart:
"I had a fiancée, but…I really didn’t know how to, like, love her, you know what I’m saying? We just went our separate ways. We was just hanging out, chilling. And I felt the energy. I felt, I need to do this right now. And I just did it. I was like…We’re engaged right now? We’re about to get married? So I was just like, cool! I love this girl. But I didn’t love her the right way."
Fearing that love may not be in the cards for him:
"I go to sleep at night, like, ‘Am I gonna be alone forever?’ I feel like there’s no hope. But I still gotta have faith."
Being emotional growing up and crying as a man:
"I watched this video about this guy, his son got killed in front of a nightclub in Miami. And he was shouting at his son’s murderer and just crying. I just started bawling. And I was just like, man, I’ve been so emotional since I’ve grown up. As a kid you’re taught not to be emotional. And I feel like I’m starting to let it all out. Every little thing now. So I cried today. And I felt good about it, though. I felt compassionate. I felt, like, loving and caring. I felt good….I think, as a nation, we need to cry with each other. As a world, we need to cry with each other. That shows we care."
Folk making fun of his MVP speech:

Meanwhile in Houston, there’s a former Thunder superstar who’s getting his own cover love this week in James Harden. The Rockets guard is a full-fledged MVP candidate and he’s on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Midseason Report issue, his trademark beard up close and personal next to a headline which reads “The Unlikely MVP.”
You can read te full Harden piece here. Here's an excerpt from Lee Jenkins’ piece on Harden entitled “In His Own Sweet Time”:

James Harden, the definition of the modern player and once the third wheel on the running-and-gunning Thunder, now commands the Houston Rockets amongst the West's best. In 2012 the Thunder traded away their "sixth-man of the year" walk away over a $6 million dispute. The next day Harden was on a plane to Houston with more questions than answers and more doubt than he would like to admit. However, the insecurity didn't last long. Harden leads the league in scoring, has transformed himself into a defensive cornerstone and has basketball mathematicians scratching their heads when questioned about his efficiency. Houston GM Daryl Morey knew he made the right bet when he acquired Harden and his gut-feeling has definitely paid off. Harden has the Rockets set for a top seed in the playoffs and has OKC wondering what could have been.

Nick Gordon Releases a Public Statement Saying PLEASE LET ME See Bobbi Kristina!
Nick Gordon has released a statement through his attorney publicly pleading with the Houston family to let him see Bobbi Kristina.

“Nick has been trying, privately, to do everything he can to see Bobbi Kristina cooperatively. He has respected the family’s wishes and for that reason alone has not returned to the hospital and risked a public confrontation,” Randall Kessler, Nick‘s lawyer, told Gossip Cop, adding, that Nick “desperately wants to be with the one he loves and continues to hope that his request will be granted.”

His statement comes a few days after the Houston family claimed that he hasn’t even tried to visit Bobbi Kristina since she’s been in the hospital. Also Nick Gordon has been told he's no longer welcome in the family home of Bobbi Kristina Brown.

The self-proclaimed 'husband' of Bobbi, 21, has been banned from visiting the TV star - the daughter of the late Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown - in the Atlanta hospital where she's attached to a life support machine, and has also been kicked out of the townhouse he once shared with her.

An insider revealed: ''Nick has been told the townhouse is no longer available for him to live in and to find other living accommodations.''
What's more, precautions have been taken in the event Nick tries to re-enter the property.
The source told RadarOnline.com: ''The locks have been changed, and since it's a gated community, security has been notified to not let Nick anywhere on the premises.

''If Nick is spotted anywhere in the complex or near the residence, there have been strict instructions to call the police immediately so he can be cited for trespassing.''

Viola Davis explains how to get away with being awesome FOR Entertainment Weekly!

Ask Viola Davis to reveal the strangest part about becoming TV’s latest “it” gal, and she’ll say that’s easy: getting photographed going to Target.

The two-time Oscar nominee never had to worry about marauding paparazzi until she stepped into the heels of Annalise Keating, an intimidating criminal-law professor who mentors a group of hyper-ambitious students in ABC’s breakout hit How to Get Away with Murder. Now, Davis’ shopping habits seem to be a source of fascination for certain prying eyes.

“I literally rolled out of bed and rolled into a Target with [my daughter] Genesis, and the paparazzi caught me,” harrumphs Davis. “I wore a wool hat and my Jimmy Kimmel sweat jacket. I was just not looking great. But it’s not a big idea. Those are princess problems. In the grand scheme of life, that’s very minuscule to complain about.”

Before she came to ABC, Davis was “doing eight days here, five days here” of work in film, despite having generated her second Oscar nomination for playing Aibileen Clark in The Help. Like most Hollywood actresses her age (and with her skin color), Davis realized that it didn’t matter if critics or award shows liked her work if there were studio executives who didn’t think she could ever open a film. “There’s the reality of being an actor, especially after two Academy Award nominations, and there’s the fantasy,” Davis explains. “People oversimplify it by saying, start a production company, get your own stuff going on … as if it’s that easy. I’ve had a production company for years. We have great projects coming up, but it’s been a battle, okay? At the same time, you have to stay relevant because you have to be bankable to the foreign market. So when How to Get Away with Murder came along, I had my a-ha moment. I knew it would have a great time slot, and I would be a lead in a TV show. I’d get to play a role that’s sexualized, messy, all those of things I never get to play. And at the same time, I can be relevant.”
In anticipation of Murder’s first season finale, EW caught up with Davis in Kauai, where she was vacationing with her husband Julius and their daughter Genesis. The actress not only talked how far she’s come in her career but also addressed what it’s like playing such a highly sexualized role like Annalise. She even addresses those steamy scenes with Billy Brown (Nate Lahey), who “loves to take his shirt off”: “It was nerve-wracking, but I went for it,” she said of doing the hibity onscreen—a career first. “Anyone should be nervous doing very personal and private scenes. If you are not nervous, then something is wrong with you.”

Chris Brown & Karrueche ROCK Matching Furs At NYFW, SLAMMED By PETA
After rocking the stage at the Barclays Center on his “BTS” tour, Chris Brown and his girlfriend Karrueche headed to the Lincoln Center for the NY Fashion Week festivities yesterday.
Chris & Kae walked in rocking matching fur coats as they made their way to the front row to check out
Kae's bestie Christina Milian was also in attendance sitting next to her homie. And the two had a good time sharing laughs throughout the night:
Ha!
But you know once a celeb is spotted rocking animal fur, PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) will come out to bash them! The non-profit organization released a statement to Gossip Cop slamming Breezy for rocking the furs, calling it "ugly violence. The statement reads,
“There are few things more out of touch than draping yourself in the skins of animals who were beaten, electrocuted, and even skinned alive for their fur. Pink’s New York Fashion Week PETA billboard shows that true beauty comes from kindness — Chris Brown’s furs are just more of the same from him: ugly violence.”
Yikes.

Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late Reportedly Counts Towards Cash Money Obligation
It’s being heavy speculated that Drake is ready to wash his hands of Cash Money Records and the latest report from DatPiff.com owner KP is only fueling the rumors.
Coming off the heels of his wildly successful “mixtape,” If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, KP is telling HipHopDX that the new offering actually works in his favor towards his contractual obligation with the label.

“Originally we were in talks to release it for free…and have DJ Drama host and even make it an official Gangsta Grillz…however the label was not in favor of that and they struck an agreement to release the project the retail route and it would count towards one of his albums,” KP tells HipHopDX. Early speculation buzzed with the notion that If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late was Drake’s last project with the label, but reps for the Canadian megastar debunked that rumor.
“It was a mutual decision since he wanted to give it away. They [the label] said, ‘Hell no,’ not in those words, so they ‘agreed’ to do it this way as a middle ground and it would count towards his Cash Money deal album total,” KP continues. “The label had zero input or creative control over If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.”

KP goes on to reveal how the decision to make the release retail happened “about two to three weeks ago when the release plans and label decision was up in the air.”
Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late is already halfway towards platinum status just a week after its February 12 release with 541,585 digital downloads (including streams) sold.
If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late is currently available on iTunes and Spotify.

Vandals Deface Lincoln University Sign With N-Word
Officials at Lincoln University were forced to send a message to the student body after vandals spray painted the n-word on a sign at the school’s entrance.
The act of vandalism, which read “Lincoln N*gger University” with the added text, was discovered at 1:50 AM on Thursday (Feb. 19), and was removed later in the morning.
“This incident is a sober reminder that our forebearers persevered in the face of hatred and intimidation, yet achieved and maintained standards for excellence which Lincoln University has become known,” acting president Valerie I. Harrison told the university community.
Said “forebearers” are of an important lineage, as Lincoln University, founded in 1854, was the nation’s first historically Black college or university.
Harrison continued, “Let’s not allow the cowardly acts of others distract us from our commitment to maintaining this legacy or cause us to act in a manner that is inconsistent with our greatness.”

The university’s student government association chimed in, telling students to focus their efforts on excelling in school and servicing their communities to show detractors “what it truly means to be the educated youth of a prestigious and dynamic heritage.”

“We retaliate,” the association continued, “by understanding that we are not inferior nor defined by the same name they tried to break our ancestors with hundreds of years ago.”

Kristen Stewart Gets Punky For Interview Magazine March 2015 Cover!
She’s had a crazy career of ups and downs, and Kristen Stewart is thankful for all the good and bad she’s experienced thus far.
The “Still Alice” actress is featured on the front of the March 2015 issue of Interview magazine, pulling off a punk vibe while famed photographer Steven Klein manned the camera.
And though the “Twilight Saga” films weren’t exactly Oscar-worthy, Kristen still stands by her work- “Anybody who wants to talk sh*t about Twilight, I completely get it, but there’s something there that I’m endlessly, and to this day, f*cking proud of. My memory of it felt—still feels—really good.”

Khloe Kardashian is Reportedly Seeing Both Exes French Montana AND Lamar Odom
Getting back with your ex rarely ever works out, but Khloe Kardashian seems to be willing to take that chance — with both ex-boyfriend French Montana AND ex-husband Lamar Odom.

According to Us Weekly,An insider reveals in the new issue of Us Weekly  the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has been out publicly — and behind closed doors — juggling both men over the past few months.
Kardashian, 30, has more recently been spending time with Montana, from whom she split for the second time this past December. The former lovebirds didn’t hide their affection for each other at Hot 97’s Ciroc-sponsored NYC concert on Thursday, Feb. 12.

“Khloe was wrapping her arms around French’s neck,” an onlooker tells Us. Two days later, she Instagrammed a photo of the pair spending time with her half-sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner. “Mob,” she wrote. As if that weren’t enough, she fueled even more reconciliation rumors when she posted a bouquet of roses she received on Valentine’s Day. She gushed: “#LuckyLady.”
Another ex Kardashian seemingly can’t let go of is Odom. As exclusively reported back in December, Kardashian split from Montana, 30, because she “wasn’t ready” for a new relationship after Odom.
Kardashian filed for divorce from the former NBA player, 35, in December 2013 after four years of marriage following his struggles with substance abuse. But one source tells Us that the two have moved on from their messy split — and even hooked up earlier this month.
“They are talking and texting,” the insider says. “Khloe doesn’t know what to do. She can’t say no to either of them.”

Whatever’s going on with Khloe, she needs to figure out what she’s doing ASAP. This won’t end well.
