Fifty Shades of Grey takes Command of the Weekend Box Office
Though it’s a AWFUL FILM! Fifty Shades of Grey is the weekend’s dominant movie. It earned the number one spot at the box office over the three-day weekend with $81.7 million—over $45 million more than Kingsman: The Secret Service, which took the number two spot with $35.6 million.
Erotic drama Fifty Shades likely got some help from Valentine’s Day crowds, and a lot of help from fans of the book series who’ve been waiting to see Anastasia and Christian on the big screen. Those factors came together to help the film reach a few milestones: According to Rentrak, Fifty Shades had the second biggest Februrary debut ever (first place belongs to 2004’s The Passion of the Christ, which debuted with $83.9 million). And it takes the crown for biggest Valentine’s Day debut, beating out Valentine’s Day’s $56.3 million in 2010.
As for Kingsman, the Matthew Vaughn-directed action movie is well on its way to outperforming predictions, which anticipated the film would make somewhere in the mid 30s over the four-day weekend. With Presidents Day tomorrow, Kingsman—and everything else in theaters—still has a whole day to bring in big numbers.
The SpongeBob Movie took the third spot, following in the exact footsteps of the previous SpongeBob film: That one dropped 44 percent between its first and second weekends in 2004, and this one also dropped 44 percent between its debut and second weekend.
American Sniper also continued its strong run, dropping just 29 percent between last weekend and this one. It beat out the Wachowskis’ Jupiter Ascending, which brought in $9.4 million—about 50 percent less than last weekend’s $18.4 million debut.

NBA All Star Game Recap The West Beats The East 163-158!
Mixing Broadway and basketball, this NBA All-Star Game was a West Side Story.
Russell Westbrook scored 41 points, one shy of the All-Star record, and the Western Conference beat the East 163-158 on Sunday night in the highest-scoring All-Star Game ever.
The Oklahoma City speedster had a record 27 points by halftime and closed out the scoring with two free throws, falling one point shy of Wilt Chamberlain's 42 points in the 1962 game. He was voted the game's MVP at Madison Square Garden.

Chicago's Jimmy Butler, who scored six points in nine minutes, enjoyed his first All-Star Game.
The NBA's return to New York showed off everything about the Big Apple, and by the time Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York" played after the game, it was clear Westbrook was king of the hill.
"It's amazing. It's a blessing to be here in New York City," Westbrook said during the MVP ceremony.
James Harden added 29 points, eight rebounds and eight assists for the West, which built a 20-point lead in the first half and then pulled away after it was tied at 148 with a little more than four minutes remaining.
The combined 321 points surpassed the 318 scored last season, and the 48 3-pointers smashed last year's record of 30.
LeBron James finished with 30 points but couldn't lead the East to the victory in his favorite NBA arena.
"Don't get no better, man. You play in the Garden in front of these fans," James said.
Harden's 3-pointer snapped the final tie with 4:02 to play and Chris Paul followed with consecutive baskets. Westbrook's fifth 3-pointer put it away at 158-149 with 2:22 to go.
Russell Westbrook's 2015 All-Star performance nearly set a scoring record for the game. He finished one point shy of Wilt Chamberlain's 53-year-old record of 42 points.
"We just talk about having fun all game long, and then, at a certain point in the fourth quarter, it's time to win," Paul said.
Atlanta's Kyle Korver made seven 3-pointers and scored 21 points for the East, while Washington's John Wall had 19.
But right from the start, the players were sharing the stage.
Christina Aguilera appeared from behind a giant big apple and belted out some New York-inspired numbers to start the show, joined by the Rockettes.
Entertainment's elite were all over the arena, with players hobnobbing with Jay Z and Floyd Mayweather near their courtside seats at halftime. But the biggest roar came for a star from another sport -- politics.
President Bill Clinton, who had a big night of his own at Madison Square Garden when he was nominated here during the 1992 Democratic National Convention, got a pair of loud ovations when he was shown during Queen Latifah's performance of the national anthem.
Players were quizzed during comedic skits on New York talk and terms, and fuhgeddaboudit, Pau Gasol had no idea what a stoop was. (Stephen Curry knew it was a porch in the front of a building).
Pau won the jump ball against little brother Marc to begin the first All-Star Game featuring two sibling starters, but for a while it looked as if that would be the East's only win of the night.
The West shot out to a 20-point lead, but the East chipped away and cut it to 83-82 before pop star Ariana Grande's halftime performance.
It was New York's first time hosting the weekend since 1998 and a rare journey to the north for the NBA, which has preferred to stage the festivities in the warmth of the South and West.
Even some of the NBA's most fashionable had to choose bundling up over dressing up, a concession to the frigid temperatures they faced during the weekend. But next year might be worse, when the game heads north of the border to Toronto.
Carmelo Anthony struggled to 14 points on 6-of-20 shooting for the East in what may have been his final game of the season. The Knicks star has been battling a sore knee for much of the season and may opt for surgery with the team owning the NBA's worst record.
But even the Knicks' misery couldn't dampen the spirits for this basketball-rich city. Players on the floor were surrounded by some of New York's hoops royalty, such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Julius Erving. There was even time to celebrate the Knicks: Willis Reed, Walt Frazier, Bill Bradley, Phil Jackson, Earl Monroe and Bernard King were honored during a break in the action.
Tim Duncan had one basket in his 15th All-Star Game, second only to Abdul-Jabbar's 18. Duncan's first was here in 1998, as was Kobe Bryant's.
Bryant had to sit out along with Anthony Davis and Blake Griffin, leaving the West without three elected starters. But they had more than enough talent left, not surprising in another season where the West is the more powerful conference from top to bottom.
East coach Mike Budenholzer played his four Atlanta Hawks together in the first quarter, Al Horford joining Jeff Teague, Paul Millsap and Korver.
"I thought we would all be out there together quite a bit. We were kind of hand signaling to run a few plays, but you weren't really running plays," Korver said. "It was just up and down. But it was great for the Hawks and for the city of Atlanta. It was really cool."

It seems she’s spilling all the tea about that little friendship! What makes it even for more interesting is the Carter’s have began distancing themselves away from West right around the time he wifed up reality star Kim Kardashian. Makes you wonder if it is just the rants that they don’t agree with?

Karlie Kloss & Taylor Swift’s BFF Vogue cover: adorable or cloying?
Taylor Swift and Karlie Kloss are doing the twinsies thing on the March cover of Vogue. The shoot is by Mikael Jansson – you can see the full slideshow here. The theme is “best friends’ roadtrip” and the photos are really good. Like, this is one of the best editorials I’ve seen from Vogue in a while (possibly because Mario Testino and Annie Leibovitz had nothing to do with it?). As for the BFFs interview… it’s very girly. It’s very cutesy. Maybe it’s because I’m too old for Swifty’s charms, but I found much of the cover story to be, in a word, cloying. I also had a clique of really close girlfriends in my late teens and early 20s – many girls do. It’s a college thing for a lot of young women. But I feel pretty strongly that this is just Swifty’s latest phase, and she will outgrow it like so many other women before her. But for now, these friendships are the most magical thing EVER!! Some highlights:
Why Swifty started developing a group of girlfriends: “To the way people were overreacting to my life. I was really irritated by the whole serial-dater play that people tried to make about me. I just decided I wasn’t willing to provide them that kind of entertainment anymore. I wasn’t going to go out on dates and have them be allowed to take pictures and say whatever they wanted about our body language. I wasn’t going to sit next to somebody and flirt with them for five minutes, because I know the next day he’ll be rumored to be my boyfriend. I just kind of took the narrative back. Taking the year off from dating: “This last year has felt very different than any other year of my life. I’ve felt more settled and unapologetic about who I am and what I stand for. Swifty also talks a lot about her clique’s diversity, like she’s hanging with brain surgeons or something. Like, she’s BFFs with Lena Dunham and Karlie and Selena Gomez and she also hangs with Jaime King and Lily Aldridge and Kylie Jenner. Which actually doesn’t sound all that diverse, you know? Swifty’s BFFs are almost exclusively models or entertainers and the crowd is 98% white and rich.
Reports: Bobbi Kristina’s Condition Deteriorates, Organs Shutting Down
Bobby Kristina’s organs are shutting down and reliable family sources say at this point it doesn’t matter if Bobby Brown withdraws life support … she’s dying.
According to TMZ… When Bobbi Kristina was taken to the hospital 2 weeks ago her brain activity was minimal. A few days later she showed an improvement in brain function but we’re told her condition has since deteriorated.
We’re told several organs are already shutting down and the family now fully understands.
Bobby Brown is holding strong to his religious view and is saying he will do what it takes to keep his daughter alive, even if it’s just on life support with no long-term hope.
Some members of Bobby’s family disagree with his decision but will respect it. I’m telling you sending prayers up.
The Miseducation of North West;s Tantrums at New York Fashion Week!
Kim Kardashian, North West and Kanye West spent their Valentine's Day at the Alexander Wang Fashion Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2015 Show at Pier 94 in NYC Saturday. And for the second time, baby North cut up on that front row. Not sure if she wanted a snack, or a nap, or just to be out of the loud and boisterous environment....but her parents seemed to be A-Ok with her remaining propped up for the fashion world to see.
Papa Kanye tried to calm her down with a little whisper...then Nicki Minaj tried to get some playtime in:
Cute.
And it looks like those snacks helped too.
So Future Tries To Come For Ciara via Instagram?
Pop star Ciara is busy in New York for Fashion Week to walk in a few fashion shows, meanwhile her baby daddy rapper Future is watching from the sidelines hating.
Last week Future uploaded a picture of Ciara’s arch enemy Rihanna on Instagam in a messy attempt to get under CiCi’s skin.
Then last night Future posted a picture of himself with the caption ‘How you gon’ upgrade an upgrada?’ and obvious clap back at Cici for the lyrics from her latest single ‘Bet You’ where she sings “You actin’ like you upgrading me, I upgraded you…”

OOOPS! SI: Swim models dish & laugh about Leonardo DiCaprio’s reputation
As I was giggling over this story, Leonardo DiCaprio sidetracked me with his Instagram page. Have you ever checked out Leo’s photo collection? It’s amazing — a vast collection of wildlife photos interspersed with Leo posing alongside world diplomats at environmental conferences. He’s working so hard to make up for his carbon footprint that will see him partying with a bevy of models on gaz-guzzling yachts several times a year.
Nowhere on Leo’s Instagram page will you find evidence of his modelizing ways. But he’s so reknowned for his party boy rep that the Academy doesn’t take him seriously, and he’s the subject of supermodel vadge jokes at the Globes. Cosmopolitan cornered nine different models at NYC’s SI: Swim event last week. The magazine asked for their opinion on Leo’s modelizing reputation. The results were hilarious:
Sara Sampaio: “If you’re in NYC, you always see him around. He likes blondes.”
Ashley Smith: “When I was at the Cannes Film Festival, I saw him at a party. And he literally showed up, like, the most dressed down [person]. He was in a baseball cap. Everyone else was in tuxedos, he came in a baseball cap, he was there for five minutes, found a girl, and left.”
Lily Aldridge: [Starts laughing. Shakes her head. No comment.]
Nina Agdal: “Leonardo just goes out with the same group of people as everybody. So I hate that people, like, start stirring stuff up, because he’s just in the same area. That happens a lot. But that’s gossip, right?”
Chanel Iman: “I’m not going to say. I can’t comment about it. You’re going to get me in trouble!”
Chrissy Teigen: “That’s so funny, because I have never run into him. I’m almost offended [laughs]. Everyone talks about him and models, and the thing is, in this industry, that’s kind of who you’re around the most. John and I used to joke about it many years ago when we first met. We always wondered why models are with musicians. You date your coworkers, and in a way, we were coworkers. I never thought anything of that stuff. Good for all of them. Good for the girls, good for Leo.”

For what it’s worth, Leo has hooked up with at least one of these ladies. I do agree with Chrissy’s last statement. Leo gets what he wants out of these girls, but they know the drill. Most of them realize Leo’s not looking for marriage. The models gain exposure and don’t go away empty handed. If they end up being Leo’s one-and-only girl for any period of time, he’ll usually gift them a Prius. That’s a better (and more environmentally sound) deal than the infamous Derek Jeter swag bag.

NY FASHION WEEK RECAP: Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade, Kanye West, Naomi Campbell, Ciara & More Hit Up Events
NY Fashion Week is now in full swing. And some of your favorite celebs are on the scene taking in all of the latest runway fashions at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week F/W 2015.
“Being Mary Jane” star Gabrielle Union and hubby/Miami Heat baller Dwyane Wade made it a date night as they attended the private viewing of Prada The Iconoclast. Above, they snapped a pic with actress Meghan Markle upon entering the venue.
It may be in the teens in NYC, but that didn’t stop Gabby from rocking a Prada crop top, baring her midriff, with a pleated navy blue skirt. She finished her look with black Loeffler Randall ‘Reina’ kitten heels and Vale jewelry.
Fashion lover Tracee Ellis Ross is continuing her rounds hitting up events for her love of fashion. And she’s keeping her fashion foot forward dressed in her mink coat and fedora to top off her look.
The “blackish” star and Essence magazine cover girl hit up the Rachel Comey fashion show dressed as her alter ego Madame Hiver. And her “look” was quite funny.
Before heading out, “T-Murda” snapped a flick before the night’s festivities with the caption, “Heading out for a night of fashion!!!”
British Formula One racecar driver Lewis Hamilton (this hair?), who recently split from Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, was solo for the night. He has also been making his rounds at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.
Socialite Genevieve Jones was also in attendance, snapping it up with Gabby.

Elsewhere....Heavy on the NY Fashion Week scene, Kanye West hit up yet another event. The "FourFiveSeconds" rapper attented the John Elliott & CO fashion show at Skylight Clarkson SQ.
And at first, it looked like Ye was back to his "not smiling makes me smile" self.
But....That all changed quickly after sharing a few laughs with designer John Elliott (above) and others:

Enjoying the off-season, NY Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz spotted on the front row.
At another event....
"Real Housewives of Atlanta" star and former runway model Cynthia Bailey trekked it from Atlanta to NYC for the fashion festivities.
She took notes on her smartphone as she sat front row at the Mark And Estel fashion show at The Salon inside the Lincoln Center.
And another ATL reality star was on the scene. "Love & Hip Hop Atlanta" star Mimi Faust was backstage at the Nina Athanasiou Show with a friend.
