In an exclusive interview with Sister2Sister Magazine, Apollo Nida, husband of "RHOA" star Phaedra Parks opened up (for the first time) about his legal drama and his marriage to Phaedra. Here are the highlights:
On his upbringing:
“My mom OD’d on heroin, actually in front of me when I was about 7”
On turning to religion while in prison (he was locked up for 6 years for racketeering)
“I studied three religions when I was down: Buddhism, Islam and Christianity. I also led a ministry when I was in there, like a congregation.”
On falling for Phaedra:
“I really admired everything that she did as a woman. I think that we have lost sight of the true picture, which is that we did take an oath to God and we did build a family and a brand. Whatever has come of this reality fiasco, we have had two beautiful children, and at the end of the day, I only wish her the best.”
WIll their marriage last:
“I can’t say if it’s going to last. But I hope that it does…I definitely love her.I’ve grown to love her more.”
Is he nervous about facing serious charges of bank fraud and identity theft:
“I don’treally get nervous. And this is not just boasting or bragging. Phaedra – I’m sure she’s nervous because at the end of the day, I’m putting my career in jeopardy.”
Carol’s Daughter Files For Bankruptcy
Carol’s Daughter has hit a financial set back after being in the game for 21 years that companies associated with Carol’s Daughter filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Manhattan on Thursday. How did they end up filing bankruptcy when they charge damn near $25 dollars for some damn shea butter with fragrance? I’m just saying!
CD Stores LLC filed its Chapter 11 petition yesterday in bankruptcy court, reporting debts and assets ranging from $1 million to $10 million. CD Stores, formerly known as Carol’s Daughter Stores LLC, is completely owned by Carol’s Daughter Holdings LLC. The parent company did not file for bankruptcy, so the brand will continue putting out products.
Founded in 1993 by Lisa Price, Carol’s daughter is a natural beauty brand that was endorsed by celebrities such as Jada Pinkett-Smith, Mary J Blige, Selita Ebanks and Solange Knowles. Lisa’s line includes products for hair and skin as well as a few fragrances.
Consumer’s shouldn’t be worried, they won’t completely disappear from the shelves
Goods from the company will still be sold at larger retailers (like Sephora) across the country. Their products will also still be available through the brand’s official website and they will still be sold on HSN.
Carol’s Daughter Chief Executive Richard Dantas said in statement released Thursday, “Today’s filing in no way reflects the parent company’s healthy financial situation, and is a part of its plan to grow the brand through national retail outlets.”
Former Redskins’ Josh Morgan Accused of Punching Valet Outside Cities
Josh Morgan may have signed with the Chicago Bears last week, but he’s still getting into trouble in Washington. The former Redskins wide receiver is accused of punching a valet attendant outside of Cities Lounge (919 19th Street NW).
Kenneth Johnson said Morgan punched him on Sunday at 1 a.m. when he was getting out of a large SUV with two women. Johnson believes he was punched because he was looking at the ladies.
“I was just standing there and I looked up, and in the blink of an eye he just punched me right in the mouth,” Johnson told NBC Washington. “Instantly my mouth is bleeding profusely, just blood coming out all over my jacket and stuff. I was scared. I didn’t know what to do.”
Still, Morgan denied the claim. “I’m not worried about nothing,” Morgan told NBC. “I know I didn’t do anything wrong.”
Morgan was taken into police custody inside the nightclub and later charged him with simple assault. If convicted, Morgan faces six months in jail or a $1,000 fine.

-She lives in a $1.8 million duplex near the Beverly Center.
- V. and Donald met during the 2010 Super Bowl in Miami.
- Last month, Donald’s wife, Rochelle Sterling, sued V. Reportedly, she wants the return of the duplex as well as a Ferrari, two Bentleys and a Range Rover, all of which were purchased by Donald. The lawsuit notes V was given $240,000 for living expenses.
- Socially, V. is a friend/associate with Karrine Steffans. The two have posed at Clippers games together.

Tina Campbell Stands By Decision to Split from Husband, Who Wants To Come Home
*It looks like it will take more than begging to earn Tina Campbell’s forgiveness.
During the latest episode of “Mary Mary,” Tina’s husband Teddy tried to get the singer to welcome him back home despite her not getting over news about his string of extramarital affairs.
After telling Tina, “I want to come home,” Tina looked to be very conflicted about the having her husband in their house again.
“Deep down in my heart, I’d like to say yes. But the truth is, it wasn’t working when you was at home,” she admitted during a confessional. “Let’s keep some space between each other.”
Although she hoped a little more time apart would give her whatever it is she needed emotionally to welcome Teddy home, Tina’s resolve seemed to have hardened with the distance between them .
“I wanted to deep down inside change and feel like I could trust again, but this is too great and I just can’t do this,” the entertainer told Teddy during one phone call.
Tina isn’t the only Mary Mary member experiencing hardship. The singer’s sister, Erica, learned that she had bleeding around her vocal chord.

Terry Richardson Sex Scandal Proven to Be a Hoax
Terry Richardson cleared after Facebook page that proposition model for sex in exchange for Vogue cover shoot proven to be fake.
Fashion photographer Terry Richardson has again been accused of bad behavior involving a young model — but it was a hoax, according to a web expert.
On Sunday, UK model Emma Appleton claimed she received a Facebook message from Richardson saying, “If i can [bleep] you i will book you in ny for a shoot for Vogue.”
After she posted the message on Twitter, Vogue weighed in, saying it has “no plans” to work with him. But sources told us Facebook found the account from which the message was sent in violation of standards of authenticity, and not from a verified Richardson account.
Online forensic expert, Theo Yedinsky, said Facebook had removed the fake account, which he discovered was set up two weeks ago from “some random Gmail account.”
A source close to Richardson said, “The whole thing is defamatory and possibly illegal. Appleton’s agent was informed about the fake account . . . but refused to acknowledge the truth and continued to grandstand.”
Appleton has deleted her Twitter profile, saying, “If the account is fake, then it needs to be removed. If it is real, then he is a hideous human.”
Richardson has previously been accused in the press of sexual misconduct with models. No charges were ever filed.

Mariah Carey Not Planning ‘Beyoncé’ Strategy for New Album; Never Was
Billboard ran Mariah Carey’s cover story for their latest issue, citing that Mariah would take a Beyoncé-esque approach in releasing her new album.
That’s simply not true, nor was that ever the plan.
Mariah explained to the mag that she wanted her fans to hear the album “as a body of work” and experience it “as if they were listening to it with me for the first time.” Specifically, she wanted to be the one to announce the album’s title, which takes its name “from a personal possession of mine that’s part of an entity I’ve had almost all of my life.”
As per Billboard, she never stated the album would be a surprise release. We already knew an album was on the way. There’s no surprise there and it would be foolish to pretend as if there was.
Interviews with sources familiar with the album confirmed that a digital-first, everything-at-once strategy was in the works — however, it was Jermaine Dupri who initially misled fans by comparing the idea of releasing all the songs and letting fans choose the single to what Beyoncé did with her record-breaking self-titled album.
He’s quoted as saying,
“The challenge with Mariah has always been if I like one record and she likes another, you can never pick a single that satisfies everybody,” he said. “If you just did what Beyoncé did, she just gave you 17 singles and you picked which record you like.”
According to Laura Swanson, the Def Jam exec of VP-media, the album will, in fact, be preceded by a traditional strategy leading up to a “late May” simultaneous digital/physical street date.
“Mariah will announce the date and title in advance of the on-sale date,” she said, noting that the cover and confirmed tracklist will all be included.
As to why the album has taken longer than expected, Mariah says it’s because she’s taken more control over the music this time around and she wants to be 100% satisfied with the project.
“People don’t understand, it could be one word, the way I pronounce something, or a keyboard level I want to be raised up in the mix,” Carey explained of the prolonged album-tweaking process. “I gave the directive it wasn’t done, and that’s the way I am. I can’t help it because in the past, I had to leave things that bothered me or point certain things out to other people. You would think I would be all about the singles-driven situation, and I am in a way, but with this particular album I want my fans to hear it as a body of work.”

Shaquille O'Neal accused of bullying DISABLED fan after removing an Instagram shot of himself mocking man's 'selfie'•NBA legend's 'offensive' photo caused outrage and was later deleted
NBA legend Shaquille 'Shaq' O'Neal has prompted outrage by apparently posting an Instagram photo which mocked a man with a rare genetic condition.
Jahmel Binion, whose ectodermal dysplasia hinders his ability to grow teeth and hair, was dumbfounded when thousands of internet users imitated and mocked a selfie he took.
They included Shaq, who has now apparently deleted the Instagram photo - which said 'SMILE TODAY' - and uploaded one comparing himself to the cartoon ogre Shrek.
But the move was too late to stop a storm of comments from many of Shaq's 500,000 followers on Instagram and 8.3million on Twitter.
The controversy comes after criticism of another top figure in basketball, billionaire LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling, who is embroiled in a racial discrimination row.
Many Instagram and Twitter users today demanded Shaq apologised for the photo.
And instead of hiding away, 23-year-old Mr Binion has used the publicity to start a campaign to raise awareness of his condition.
Called Hug Don't Judge, a Facebook page for his campaign has gained more than 3,500 fans and been flooded with photos by parents whose children have the same disorder.
The description reads: 'This page is to support my anti-bulling and cyber bullying organization.
'Please be respectful, be positive and share this with the world. Time to make a difference.'
Mr Binion, 23, told My Fox Detroit: 'I've been getting teased since I was yea tall - people laugh at me, stare at me.
'I was kinda hurt because I look up to him and I watch Shaq play basketball so I was like, why is he making fun of me when he's supposed to be this role model?'
'I can't let it get to me, then I get hurt and depressed, so I keep my mind positive.'
The storm prompted the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias to write an open letter to the NBA legend.
Executive director Mary Fete said there were more than 180 forms of the condition and many left sufferers with missing teeth and unable to sweat.
She wrote: 'You might want to consider making something positive come from this. Consider giving Jahmel Binion the gift of a smile, one that others would not make fun of.
'Give him a smile that would give him confidence and pride.'
So far Shaq has not responded publicly to the row.
Some users rushed to the 7ft 1in four-time NBA champion's support, saying people were too easily offended and Shaq may not have known Mr Binion had a disibility.
The controversy comes after another top figure in the NBA, billionaire LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling, made headlines when a tape of an alleged racist rant was leaked to TMZ.
He is allegedly heard telling his girlfriend she can 'sleep with black people' but not bring them to matches.
'You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want,' the voice on the tape says. 'The little I ask you is not to promote it on that... and not to bring them to my games.
'It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people. Do you have to?
'I’m just saying, in your lousy f******* Instagrams, you don’t have to have yourself with, walking with black people.
'Don't put him (Magic Johnson) on an Instagram for the world to have to see so they have to call me. And don't bring him to my games.'
In 2009 Sterling agreed to a $2.76 million settlement over claims he discriminated against African American and Latinos tenants at apartments he owned. He did not admit any liability.

All of us at the National Foundation for Ectodermal Dysplasias (NFED) are terribly disappointed by the hurtful image that you and others recently posted on social media about a member of our family, Jahmel Binion, who is affected by ectodermal dysplasia.
Individuals affected by these rare, genetic conditions often face a lifetime of bullying and negative remarks because of their appearance, which others may consider “different.” Bullying is never acceptable and we, as a nation, have had some devastating consequences as a result of bullying. However, to be called out on a celebrity’s social media and made fun of is especially reprehensible. We applaud Jahmel for reacting to this cyberbullying by establishing a positive social media campaign called “Hug Don’t Judge.”
Mr. O’Neal, we welcome this opportunity to enlighten you about the ectodermal dysplasias and how we could work together for positive change.
The ectodermal dysplasias are rare genetic conditions that affect the development of hair, teeth, skin, glands and nails in men, women and children of all races and ethnic groups. Of the more than 180 different syndromes, x-linked hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia (XLHED) is the most common and features multiple malformed and missing teeth, the inability to perspire, sparse hair and recurring respiratory infections. Symptoms can range from mild to severe, but in all cases present a variety of challenges.
We invite you to attend our NFED National Family Conference, July 23-26 in Columbus, Ohio, and meet families from around the world who, like Jahmel, are affected by ectodermal dysplasias. You will meet some extraordinary people who are accomplishing profound acts despite the harsh social stigmas, daunting physical challenges, and financially draining dental procedures they’re up against.
