‘Noah’ Is No. 1 Despite Complaints from Christian Groups!
Viewers went to “Noah,” many in pairs, like the creatures in Genesis; but they quickly erupted in disagreement over the film’s action-packed, modernist rendering of the biblical flood.

With an estimated $44 million in domestic ticket sales, including $6.2 million from giant Imax screens, “Noah” (Paramount Pictures) surpassed Lionsgate’s “Divergent,” with $26.5 million, and Walt Disney’s “Muppets Most Wanted, with $11.4 million, to lead the weekend box office. But “Noah” had a soft rating of C by Cinemascore, which gauges audience reaction. That happened as a majority of viewers — 63 percent, according to Paramount executives — gave the movie a positive score of A or B, even while a significant minority judged the film as low as D or F.

“People are getting their arms around, are they comfortable with it?” said Rob Moore, Paramount’s vice chairman. “There’s a small, vocal minority who are not.”
Professional film critics scored the movie with a respectable 68, according to Metacritic.com, which tracks reviews. “This is a Noah for the 21st century, one of the most dazzling and unforgettable biblical epics ever put on film,” Richard Roeper, one of the fans, wrote for The Chicago Sun-Times.

Other viewers were harshly opposed. “If you are looking for a biblical movie, this is definitely not it,” said Glenn Beck, one of many detractors, on his radio show, as noted by Gospelherald.com.

Much controversy centered on the director Darren Aronofsky’s environmental messaging — his Noah appears not to be a meat eater and reprimands his son for picking a flower — and on action sequences that involve Transformer-like exiled angels encased in rock.
While Paramount eased religious leaders into early screenings and landed some cautious endorsements, it never received the kind of support that found church groups buying blocks of tickets to “Son of God,” which became a surprise hit for 20th Century Fox after opening last month.

Mr. Moore said the split-level Cinemascore for “Noah” and the polarized audience reaction were similar to what the studio experienced with Martin Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street.” That film has had about $116.9 million in domestic ticket sales since its release in December.
“Noah” was banned in Indonesia and in a number of Middle Eastern countries, where it was held to violate Islamic law, but it has played well in Mexico, which has a large Roman Catholic population. To date, the film, which cost about $125 million to make, has taken in about $51.1 million from international markets, Paramount said.
Through the weekend, the debate around “Noah” was still drawing attention from competitors.

On Saturday morning, Mr. Aronofsky was warding off the backlash to some of his own comments. Asked on “CBS This Morning” about having called his film “the least biblical, biblical movie ever made,” he said he was simply distinguishing his approach from that of much older films, like Cecil B. DeMille’s “The Ten Commandments.”
Responding to reports that identified Mr. Aronofsky as a self-professed atheist, Leslee Dart, a spokeswoman for him, said she did not believe that he would directly challenge the characterization.

“I believe he would say: ‘It doesn’t really matter what I believe. The movie believes in God,’ ” Ms. Dart said.

Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White Honors March Madness Bet, Gives Fan Super Bowl Tickets
This year's March Madness turned everybody's bracket into toilet paper and unexpected bets are being cashed in. Possibly the most high-profile wager was one made by Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White through his unfiltered Twitter account.
Nobody really gave Mercer a fighting chance to best Coach K's always tournament-ready Duke Blue Devils except for diehard sports fan Dylan Hoyt. White thought nothing of it when he made a lopsided bet with one of his admirers.
So when Mercer pulled off the upset--complete with a Nae Nae-dancing-benchwarmer, all eyes were on Roddy to man up. Meaning nearly all of his 200K Twitter followers.
Via Bleacher Report:
White had originally tweeted that he would give the follower season tickets on the 50-yard line, but he later said that he would give the fan two tickets to the Falcons' game against the Chicago Bears.
Some people felt that White—who signed a six-year, $50 million deal back in 2009—should honor the original bet, which left the receiver shaking his head.
Y'all people are crazy on twitter you want me to man up and pay a bet to a person that had nothing to lose in the bet #soundsridicules, he screamed on his Twitter but he was silently humbling up behind the scenes. The grand prize was an ultimate fan's dream that would make Visa or MasterCard green with envy.
"2 season tickets, 2 SB tix, pregame sideline passes to game and a day at camp as my guest. How does that sound," White asked Hoyt much to his delight, who had become a local celebrity doing interviews in his Georgia area.
It's always nice to see the pros use their power for the greater good of the people's experience, even if the league is always finding new ways to suck the fun out of it.

Is Peter Thomas Getting His Own Spin-Off Reality Show??
Real Housewives Of Atlanta star Peter Thomas and his buddies have already begun filming the spin-off, although it has not actually been picked up by the network.

Apparently, Peter, Todd Tucker and Gregg Leakes ”had all the windows blocked off because it was daytime and the shoot was supposed to be at night.”

While he’s not an actual cast mate (the husband’s don’t receive a paycheck from the network), he may have aspin-off show strictly about his Atlanta business. Radar Online reports that the show may be similar to Lisa Vanderpump’s spin-off, ‘Vanderpump Rules’. Lisa’s show, follows her and her employees at their popular Beverly Hills restaurant, SUR Lounge. As you may know, Lisa started off (and remains) on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Thomas believes a spinoff show that features the husbands and boyfriends of the “RHOA” cast would be successful.

Kobe Bryant’s Trayvon Martin Comments Draw Rage On Twitter (Tweets)
Kobe Bryant shared his feelings on the Trayvon Martin case for the March 31 issue of The New Yorker, and was quoted saying he didn’t support the teen because he was made to feel like he was “supposed to, because I’m an African-American. That argument doesn’t make any sense to me.”

Reports Vlad:
He was also asked how he felt about the Miami Heat posing in hoodies in support of Trayvon, but Kobe said he didn’t see how the uniformity showed “progress.”

“So we want to advance as a society and a culture, but, say, if something happens to an African-American we immediately come to his defense? Yet you want to talk about how far we’ve progressed as a society? Well, we’ve progressed as a society, then don’t jump to somebody’s defense just because they’re African-American. You sit and you listen to the facts just like you would in any other situation, right? So I won’t assert myself.”

His comments left Twitter users split, with some airing their disappointment of the star athlete, while others defended their idol.

And now…Twitter reacts.
KOBE Is you have nothing decent to say don’t say a anything! I guess the next time he rapes somebody he's on his own.

Porsha Williams is getting FIRED for attacking Kenya Moore?
An alleged brawl took place on Thursday (March 27th) while the Real Housewives of Atlanta cast filmed their reunion. Tempers flared and things got ugly between Kenya Moore and Porsha Stewart. An insider tells us exclusively that Kenya was verbally taunting Porsha, poking fun of her marriage to her now ex-husband, Kordell Stewart. We’re told that after calling Porsha Kordell’s ‘Beard‘ a few times, things got physical with Porsha attacking Kenya.

So what’s the latest? According to a number of outlets, the alleged fight may have resulted in a pink slip. According to TMZ, Porsha was already on the ‘outs’ of not returning, as her storyline was categorized as being uninteresting. Allegedly, some of the producers feel like the ‘Flatline’ singer is now more trouble than she’s worth.

Meanwhile, a source tells Radar Online that Porsha’s employment on the hit show hasn’t been determined one way or the other.

She has not been fired. Obviously it’s not good what she did. It’s not the sort of thing that any parties want. The women were embarrassed. No one wants this sort of thing to happen, but the thing is with the reunions, they’re not going to make a decision today.
The source added:
At the end of every season, everyone’s getting evaluated on [if] they go forward for next season. Was she fired? No. Would she potentially be? Who knows? Anything is possible right now, clearly. They wouldn’t make a rash decision like that. They just shot the reunion. A lot of conversations have to happen, so no decisions have been made yet.

Reportedly, the fight wasn’t a long-drawn out sort of situation. Sources report that the fight was broken up quickly and Porsha was ‘very remorseful’ after it happened. Porsha was not escorted offset, as some reports initially suggested.

To date, cast members have remained pretty tight-lipped.
Friday afternoon, Kenya tweeted

#Teamtwirl one thing u will NEVER see me do is fight. Your brain and tongue are your most powerful weapons.

Only time will tell who will or will not return. But what are YOUR thoughts? If Porsha initiated the physical fight, should she be fired or is Kenya ultimately responsible?

The Affordable Care Act is Struggling to Enroll African Americans in California Ahead of Deadline
*California, we’ve got a problem!
The deadline for getting The Affordable Care Act coverage is today and the  Golden State, California, very few African Americans have signed up statewide, and there’s not much time to address the lackluster turnout.
According to an LA Times report, on Wednesday, state officials reiterated that Monday remains the deadline for open enrollment. But the state will give Californians until April 15 to finish their application if they start it before midnight Monday.

Thus far, fewer than 3% of health plan enrollees identify themselves as African American, and that number hasn’t budged in weeks. About 17% of African Americans in California are uninsured, and overall they constitute about 7% of the state’s population.
But the state’s struggles at reaching uninsured Latinos have drawn far more attention and criticism among lawmakers and health law supporters. The pace of Latino sign-ups has picked up in recent weeks amid a multimillion-dollar marketing blitz. Overall, consumer interest is running high ahead of the deadline, with nearly 40,000 people enrolling Monday and Tuesday, the state said.
There is more of this story at LA Times.
