Kobe Bryant Out For Season Due To Knee Injury
Unfortunately, Kobe Bryant's 2013-2104 NBA season is over. The future Hall of Famer's knee injury is not healing fast enough to hit the hardwood for the Lakers.
Reports the Associated Press:
The Lakers said Bryant was examined Wednesday by team physician Dr. Steve Lombardo, who determined that the injury that has kept Bryant out of the lineup still hasn't healed. Bryant is recovering from a fractured lateral tibial plateau of his left knee.
Bryant issued a statement through the team saying that this has been a disappointing and frustrating season. He added, "But I appreciate all the support I've received from the Lakers and the fans, and look forward to being back and ready for the start of training camp."
Sadly, Bryant injured his knee after a borderline miraculous return from a torn Achilles tendon the previous season.
Bean signed a 2-year contract extension with Lakers late last year. But the question will now be inevitably be asked; should the five time NBA champion retire? Let us know what you think in the comments.
Chipotle Says They Never Received Frank Ocean’s ‘F**k Off’ Check
Frank Ocean has found himself in the middle of a lawsuit with Chipotle and it seems to come down to a war on pride.
Last week, TMZ reported that the mexican food chain was suing the Channel Orange singer for backing out of their commercial. They paid him an advance of 212.5k to remake the song “Pure Imagination” however, he was displeased that they refused to remove their logo at the end of their ad so he bailed.
According to a rep from Frank’s camp, he was allotted final say of the ad yet they refused to follow his orders; this is where the plot thickens. According to numerous reports, Frank responded by writing a check to the company for the exact amount of his advance (which is what they were asking) but wrote “F*CK OFF” literally one line of the check.
And while a picture of the intended check floats around the internet, a Chipotle rep claims: We’ve seen the photo, but haven’t received a check.
So where is the check? The company rep told the paparrazi-heavy website that despite not receiving the check their glad he ponied up. Stay tuned for updates on this food vs. man dilemma.
ESPN Anchor Stuart Scott Faces 3rd Battle With Cancer
ESPN's Stuart Scott has been one of the most reliable on-air personalities for the cable sports and media network. However, Scott is currently facing a series of challenges related to his ongoing battle with cancer although he's fighting the disease with admirable tenacity.
The New York Times profiled Scott,48, in an informative piece about the host's battle with appendiceal cancer, a rare form of the disease. Scott is unwavering in the face of his condition, using mixed martial arts to supplement his traditional medical treatment. Looking gaunt but extremely fit, Scott is bravely taking on the challenge of defeating cancer.

Scott's fight continues. He has had 58 infusions of chemotherapy. He recently switched to a pill. But the drugs have not fully arrested the cancer that struck first in 2007, when his appendix was removed. It returned four years later. And it came back again last year. Each recurrence seems more dire, and yet after each, Scott has returned to his high-profile work at ESPN, ensuring that his private fight has become a public one.
Friends, family, colleagues and strangers ask how he is faring. Yet Scott, 48, says he does not want to know his prognosis.
“I never ask what stage I'm in,” he said recently over lunch. “I haven't wanted to know. It won't change anything to me. All I know is that it would cause more worry and a higher degree of freakout. Stage 1, 2 or 8, it doesn't matter. I'm trying to fight it the best I can.”
The entire piece is worth a read, which details how Scott turns a reluctant eye on his prognosis while trying his best to remain normal as possible. Scott, the father of two teenage daughters, has the name of his children on his mouthpiece when he's performing his martial arts workouts.
It also apparent in the piece he's determined to live for his children and other loved ones as well as can be expected for a man in his condition.

"Atlanta Exes" star Monyetta Shaw (shown above Keshia Knight Pulliam) teamed with The Evan Grace Group, Mercedes Benz and Malibu Red to present "The Heels of Greatness Dinner", an event honoring 25 Women of Influence during Women's History Month.
Monyetta's event focused on Atlanta influencers and was held at Mercedes Benz of Buckhead.
"RHOA" star Kandi Burruss came out to support Monyetta.
Monyetta's "Atlanta Exes" co-stars Tameka Foster Raymond and Torrei Hart also attended the event. Our sources revealed that the event was filmed for an upcoming episode.

RHOA’s Porsha Williams Walks Away Empty-Handed From Kordell Stewart Divorce
Now that the dust has settled (somewhat) between RHOA’s Porsha Willliams and former NFL baller Kordell Stewart and the divorce is final we’ve learned who’s walked away with what. According to legal documents obtained by TMZ,
Porsha gets NO alimony, NO house, NO NFL retirement money, NO cash-out, NO health insurance. She even has to pay her own credit card balances.
Ouch! The pair were married two years and split last year. The former couple battled it out very publicly with various accusations flying from both sides. Porsha keeps the Mercedes she had prior to the marriage, all of her personal items including clothes and jewelry, the engagement ring and $19,000 for attorney’s fees. Kordell retains two houses and plots of land, a 2013 Mercedes and a 2010 Porsche, his full retirement benefits and 100% interest in his companies. During the last episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kordell mentioned in a conversation with Peter Thomas there was no pre-nup and other financial issues explaining,

Louisiana Man Freed After 26 Years On Death Row
The state of Louisiana must have sparked a chain reaction in the prison system following Lil Boosie's release.
At least, that appears to be the case as 64-year-old Glenn Ford has just been freed from the maximum security prison that he has called home since 1988. He was wrongfully convicted in 1984 for killing 56-year-old Isadore Rozeman, a Shreveport jeweler and watchmaker, who was a frequent employer of Ford.
Reports WAFB:
A judge ordered Ford be set free after the Caddo Parish District Attorney's office filed a motion to vacate his conviction for the 1983 murder of Isadore Rozeman, a jeweler in Shreveport. The prosecution citing recently obtained credible evidence that proves Ford was neither present, nor took part in Rozeman's murder.
"Words can't really express it but it's a wonderful day and we've been working on this for decades literally so we hope that it will be the first day for Glenn to start a new life," said Ford's Attorney Gary Clements.
For its part Rozeman's family says the news of Ford's overturned conviction brings back painful memories. Rozeman's nephew Dr. Phillip Rozeman is optimistic the prosecution's credible evidence will soon lead to another arrest.
"We are very pleased to see Glenn Ford finally exonerated, and we are particularly grateful that the prosecution and the court moved ahead so decisively to set Mr. Ford free," said a statement from Gary Clements and Aaron Novod, the attorneys for Ford from the Capital Post Conviction Project of Louisiana.
When asked if he felt some kind of way about seeing 30 years of his life wasted behind prison bars, Ford honestly answered, "Yeah, because I was locked up almost 30 years for something I didn't do. It's resentment, not feeling bitter."
Naturally it will take a bit of time before Ford is transitioned back into the real world but his first act of civility to "get something to eat" seems like a step in the right direction.
Hopefully it's a million dollar steak. According to the news report, the state of Louisiana pays $25K for each year a wrongfully convicted inmate spends in prison, with a cap of $250K plus $80K for "lost of life opportunities."
Queen Latifah Produces New Romantic Comedy ‘November Rule’
Kali Hawk (New Girl), Macy Gray, DJ Qualls (Hustle & Flow), Tatyana Ali (Love That Girl!), La La Anthony (Think Like A Man) and Sons of Anarchy‘s Mo McCrae are among the list of cast members of the new upcoming romantic comedy, November Rule . The comedy will be executive produced by Queen Latifah under her production company Flavor Unit Entertainment and produced by Mike Elliott (The Devil Rejects).
The new flick, described as a romantic comedy, focuses on a man who makes a “November rule” to avoid the big C, even if he’s in a relationship when each November comes around. So he routinely ends relationships in November (if he’s involved), or keeps his distance from women (if he’s not involved), until the right one comes along and while still obeying his “November rule,” loses her, and then has to do everything he can to get her back.
No word yet on who will be fulfilling the lead roles or a release date.

Rachel Roy's Fashion Line DISCONTINUED
Many of Rachel's super cute frocks will be disappearing from racks.
Despite celebrating their 10th anniversary and mounting an impressive showing at New York's Fashion week last month, Jones Group has decided to cease production of the Rachel Roy Collection. A rep for Jones Group said "RRC", which is sold in high end stores like Nieman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdale's, is not in line with Jones’s overall strategy.
Rachel showed her Fall/Winter 2014 collection at NY Fashion Week, but it won't be purchased and distributed....as of right now.
Jones, which has held a 50 percent stake in Rachel Roy’s business since 2008, said it will “continue to support” of her contemporary label Rachel Rachel Roy, which is sold exclusively at Macy’s. Rachel's designs have been spotted recently on fab ladies like Gabrielle Union and FLOTUS Michele Obama.
Never fear....designer Rachel Roy is not throwing in the towel yet. She told WWD that she plans to produce the collection somehow herself and is looking for a business partner. Too bad she can't turn to cash-strapped ex-husband Damon Dash in her time of need.
AMC Releases "Mad Men" Season Seven Teaser Images!
Building up the hype surrounding the premiere of "Mad Men's" seventh season, three new teaser images featuring characters Don Draper, Peggy Olsen, Megan Draper and Roger Sterling waiting patiently at an airport have just been released by AMC. Check out the images
The images themselves tell us very little about what we can look forward to in the seventh and final season of AMC's fantastic drama, and that's just the way series creator, Matthew Weiner wants to keep it.
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Weiner simply said, "If these images answer any questions, that’s an accident."
Jon Hamm and Jessica Pare will take to the screen one last time to reprise their roles as Don Draper and Peggy Olsen, and the final season of "Mad Men" premieres on AMC on April 13th!
Mary Mary’s Tina Campbell Blames Herself For Husband Cheating: ‘I assume full responsibility’.
Instead of pointing the finger at her husband, gospel singer/reality star Tina Campbell is taking ownership for her part in her troubled marriage. If you’re fans of the popular gospel group, Mary Mary, it’s highly likely that you heard the alarming news, when Tina shared that her husband, Teddy, had been unfaithful in their marriage. She’s talked about it in her explosive EBONY magazine interview, along with the group’s reality show.
And now that the smoke has cleared, she’s giving more insight. In an interview with CNikky she says:
“I Tina assume full responsibility for the issues that I contributed to the relationship. I was controlling, talked too much. And you can never be heard over me because when I wanna talk I got the floor and ain’t nobody gonna get it from me until I give it up. Real talk. That was the way it was and I have to work on myself. You know what I mean? I was selfish. When we started having children it’s like, I forget that I have a responsibility as a wife. And I’m questioning you like, ‘Really, what you want me to do? I gotta baby!’
She adds that she didn’t realize it at the time, but she made her spouse feel small. She shares:
Even though that’s sometimes what you’re faced with, that ain’t the right spirit to do it in. And what happens is, you’re going on and you’re busy and you’ve got children and you’ve got work. And what happens is your husband is last and you don’t realize that he’s last. And if he has a problem with being last you’re like,’Well, what am I supposed to do? You know that I’ve got a career? You know that I’ve got these babies, you’re the one that got me pregnant!’ You want your husband to be the man and to take his place, but because ‘I’m a strong woman, I’m a this woman and I’m a that woman’ we busy stepping on our man. Making him feel small. And you know what? I did that. And I take responsibility for that.
