The Daily Buzz For Feb 3

Seattle Seahawks stomp Broncos for Super Bowl win
The Seahawks are Super Bowl champions for the first time after whacking the Broncos 43-8 Sunday night. Coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Schneider spent the last four years building the toughest, deepest, most versatile defense in football. Their vision was fully realized for the world to see on the game's biggest stage. (Not bad for a coach that was fired twice in his NFL career.)

"We're not sleeping tonight," an elated Carroll told the media. "We're staying up all night because this party's gonna get started as soon as you guys let me go."
For so long, we thought the weather would be a factor in the first outdoor Super Bowl in the Northeast. Peyton Manning and the Broncos got perfect conditions -- it was 49 degrees at kickoff -- but the worst possible opponent.
Seattle pushed Denver's offense around at every level of the defense. Pass rushers Chris Clemons and Cliff Avril consistently beat Denver's tackles and made Manning uncomfortable. (Avril helped force two interceptions.) When Manning did have time to throw, he couldn't find receivers open quickly. Safety Kam Chancellor made a few huge hits and picked off Manning to set the game's tone. Richard Sherman and Byron Maxwell did an incredible job on the outside against Denver's outside receivers. Linebackers K.J. Wright and Bobby Wagner were all over the field. (And I haven't even mentioned linebacker Malcolm Smith, who miraculously won the game's MVP award.)
We're mentioning so many names because this Seahawks' defense is about more than just the star players and the Legion of Boom secondary. It's a true team that is excellent at all the little things. They hit. They don't allow yards after the catch. And they force game-changing turnovers, like Smith's 69-yard interception return.
The Seahawks' defense made Manning and company look like a collection of also-rans. Manning was forced to move in pocket on nearly every throw. Denver's running game was stymied. Every first down was a struggle.
Russell Wilson was terrific on third downs and did his part, but the Seahawks' offense was practically an afterthought for much of the game. (Like much of the season.) The score was 29-0 after Percy Harvin returned a kickoff for a touchdown to start the second half. At that point in the game, the Seahawks' offense just had 13 points. And seven of those points came on a short field after a turnover!
It was almost hard to believe what we were watching Sunday night. The Broncos' offense, the picture of efficiency all season, looked completely overwhelmed. They weren't ready for the moment; Seattle was.

This was the Seahawks' time. This team, constructed from the ground up, built toward this game for the last four seasons. Now, it will be mentioned as one of the greatest defenses in NFL history

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom Sell Their House
Looks like Khloe Kardashian, and ex-hubby Lamar Odom as reportedly sold their house for more than the asking price.
The house has been on the market since the end of December and according to  reports, the California mansion was snapped up by another famous couple.
The sale of the house was first reported by TMZ, who stated that the 7-bedroom home sold for $5.49 million, more that  $1.5 mil. than what they bought it for and a just under $1.5 mil. of the asking price. The 8,000 sq. ft. Tarzana home was bought by the couple  back in 2009 for $3.95 mil. and was lived in by the once married couple  until their relationship began to crumble last year, owing largely to  Lamar’s well documented downward spiral into drugs.
The “Big Bang Theory” star and newlywed Kaley Cuoco has reportedly purchased the seven-bedroom mansion.
While the 29-year-old reality star and the NBA player are ending their four-year marriage, Cuoco is just beginning hers with tennis pro husband Ryan Sweeting.

Gabby Union Debuts Her New 'Vanilla Puddin' Chardonnay' Wine On "Chelsea Lately"
Gabrielle Union has officially tapped into the wine market.  And she's created her own vanilla wine...that literally tastes like vanilla pudding.  Check out what she had to say about it on "Chelsea Lately recently
In between talking about how she's the "older woman" out of the Miami Heat ballers and WAGS, setting a wedding date, and how she's 9 years older than her fiance Dwyane Wade, Gabby Union chopped it up with Chelsea Handler last night about her brand new wine venture.

She's teamed up with a wine distributor to create a Chardonnay that "tastes good", as she put it.  She didn't want a cork because she wants to "be able to get to the liquor quickly".  And she wanted it to have a sweet taste...so she went with vanilla.
And if you want to know more about Gabby's wine...
According to the Vanilla Puddin Wine Facebook page:
Fun, elegant, stylish and approachable are just a few words to describe the 2012 Vanilla Puddin' Chardonnay from Napa Valley, California. Created in conjunction with Gabrielle Union and JaM Cellars, Vanilla Puddin' Chardonnay has characteristics of pears, light French oak, and white chocolate with dollops of vanilla. It's the perfect wine to make any day a special occasion.

The 2012 Vanilla Puddin Wine will be released on February 12th.  Who's ready to sip on this?
BONUS: Gabby told People magazine about the type of support she's been getting since announcing her engagement, and that she's letting Dwyane do all the heavy lifting:
"For everyone who's kind of given up, and is maybe a little older and it's the second time around, I think everyone kind of feels like it's their wedding and we're all in this together," she explained.

“Alone Yet Not Alone” Axed From Best Original Song Oscar Nominees
It’s a beautiful anthem of faith and hope, but “Alone Yet Not Alone” will no longer be considered for the Best Original Song Oscar at the 86th Academy Awards.
Composer Bruce Broughton is actually a former governor of the AMPAS music division, and he’s been accused of improperly influencing the voters to listen to his modern-day hymn, sung by quadriplegic author/radio host Joni Eareckson Tada.

Fearful that the Academy members would simply overlook the song, given the fact that it’s from a Christian film, Broughton sent out emails to draw attention to it.
He explained, "So, yeah, I wrote some people and said, 'Could you just take a look?' That was literally the extent of the campaigning. I received in the mail songs from other films that were pressed and recorded CDs. We didn’t do anything like that at all."
But Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs called foul- "No matter how well-intentioned the communication, using one's position as a former governor and current executive committee member to personally promote one’s own Oscar submission creates the appearance of an unfair advantage.”

Following the decision, a “devastated” Bruce noted, "I indulged in the simplest grass-roots campaign and it went against me when the song started getting attention. I got taken down by competition that has months of promotion and advertising behind them."

McDonald's Worker Accused Of Slanging Heroin In Happy Meals
It's a well-documented fact that most McDonald workers are unhappy with their compensation but one Golden Arch employee's alleged undercover hustle may have her spending more time behind bars than the pennies she's earned.
Police are saying 26-year-old Shania Dennis was selling baggies of heroin out of the drive-thru window with a clever code phrase being used for her fiends to obtain their Super-Sized smack.
Well not really, actually.
Via The Grio:
Investigators said customers looking for heroin were told to go through the drive-through and say “I'd like to order a toy.”
The customer would then be told to drive to the first window, where they'd hand over their money and get a Happy Meal box containing heroin in exchange.
The customer, who just paid $82, would then leave without stopping at the second window, according to Mike Manko, a spokesman for Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappal.
"Surprises the hell out of me that you can come to McDonald's and get a Happy Meal, some fries and a bag of dope man, c'mon!" said Hackee Everett, a nearby customer. "You got fast food and dope--what a gift!"
The only man not surprised by this fast food struggle would probably be Toronto mayor Rob Ford.

Rihanna Attends MAC’s Viva Glam Launch In NYC
I swear MAC releases a new collection every other week! I can’t keep up! Anyway, with a fresh Grammy under her belt, Rihanna is making her rounds this week. Her recent stop was in NYC to attend MAC’s launch of their new Viva Glam collection.

This is Rihanna’s fourth project with MAC, with the first three collections selling completely out just over a few hours last year. With 100% of the proceeds going to Mac AIDS Fund, Rihanna wants us to know that she very much interested in playing more of a Philanthropist role this year. The AIDS fund helps people living with the disease and according to John Demsey, group president of Estee Lauder, which owns Mac, Rihanna is taking her role with the brand quite seriously right now. Nice to see her doing something positive. At the rate Rihanna is going, she is going to be a music and style icon well into her 40′s and 50′s. MAC is a great look for her.

Six Year Old Niece of Leonardo Dicaprio Missing, Being Held For Ransom
This is truly sad, family members and friends are frantically searching for the niece of Leonardo Dicaprio, whose whereabouts have  been declared unknown Normadie Farrar, the daughter of DiCaprio’s jailed step-brother Adam Farrar, was last seen on July 25, last year, according to law enforcement authorities in California.
Farrar, was detained by police in Collin County on two Class A Misdemeanors last Friday for possession of a dangerous drug, theft and a further charge of harassment. Normadie’s mother, 38-year-old Charity Moore, was arrested five days earlier and slugged with a slew of offenses, including three counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a dangerous drug, theft of property under $500 and a Class C Misdemeanor of a parent contributing to the child’s nonattendance at school.

One family friend told Radaronline: “Adam and Charity have been hiding with Normadie in Texas, desperately avoiding the Department of Justice.

“It’s now very worrying. With both of them locked up in jail, no-one in the DiCaprio family is sure where Normadie is, at this time. They didn’t even know that Adam and Charity had been arrested.”

Even Nancy Grace is speaking about it on Headline News and stating that members of his own family are trying to get a ransom, for the little girls return. Clearly they are going through a very bitter family battle. The two brothers haven’t spoken in years. Hopefully they find her safe and sound… This is so messed up
