The Daily Buzz for Feb 27

WATCH: Beyonce – “Partition” (Full Clip)
Beyoncé has rolled out the full visual to her song “Partition,” from her self-titled album that she dropped late last year.

The video, which features her hubby Jay Z as her love interest, opens with a robe and lingerie-clad Yoncé sitting at the breakfast table eying her man. She then finds herself daydreaming about the two of them getting up close and personal with some backseat intimacy, and she hits the stage in some skimpy attire to tease him with a dance.
In video commentary to the album, Beyoncé talked inspiration for the clip saying:
The day that I got engaged was my husband’s birthday and I took him to Crazy Horse. And I remember thinking, ‘Damn, these girls are fly.’ I just thought it was the ultimate sexy show I’ve ever seen. And I was like, ‘I wish I was up there, I wish I could perform that for my man…’ So that’s what I did for the video.

MC Lyte: ‘Never say never’ about an openly gay mainstream rapper
MC Lyte is a pioneer and legend within the hip hop community. The “Light As A Feather” emcee is also an active philanthropist. In honor of Black History Month, Lyte’s teamed with AT&T  28 Days campaign, which encourages children to give.
She sat down with The website theGrio talk about poetry, who is she currently listening to, and if there can ever be a successful openly gay mainstream rapper.

theGrio: MC Lyte, thank you for sitting down with us.
MC Lyte: Absolutely, thank you. Thank you very much for the platform.

Tell me about the 28 Days campaign. You’ve been tapped to lead a team and help a nonprofit organization with your charity efforts.

Absolutely, I’m honored to be a participant even at the level of a coach for the 28 days, but it’s all about taking a look at history but also being able to step out in the forefront and make history. That is what I like so much about this campaign. We can also further that mission and with the team that I have, physically we’re helping out an organization called “Write Girls.” This is completed up my alley. They have these workshops to empower young girls to write out what it is they are feeling, to use their imagination or to just open up.

How has poetry impacted your life and how you can give that knowledge and experience to your team?

As a kid, my mother had me write everything. I had to write an essay for everything that I wanted to do that was extracurricular based. So if you wanted to go roller skating, play hand ball, it was always an essay. It was short but none the less you had to be able to write and convince her that I needed to be outside of the house.  I used to think hip-hop was that but the mainstream has sort of had its way with it.

Now a lot of the focus is put on being at the top of the charts, being more popular so that you can be on the cover of someone’s magazine. Whereas poetry stays true to the community, true to the people who wrote it. Because mainstream is not trying to get a hold of it to make money, it’s been able to keep its purity, which I completely respect and honor.

Your career continues to have longevity. You worked with BET Hip-Hop awards, you’ve been an announcer, and your voice is known. A lot of people don’t understand that there other ways to parlay hip-hop into other careers. You, Queen Latifah, and LL Cool J are some of the few that seem to have made the transition.

Before I wanted to rap I heard people on the radio. I heard celebrities talking on WBLS NYC. I was going to Norfolk State University to be a communications major so that I could eventually be a radio personality. I know that I had something to say; I’m able to use my voice in all sorts of ways.

My manager said something to me very early on my career that was we were going to build my career so it wasn’t dependent upon a hit record. Once we sat down and figured out all of the things I wanted to do prior to rapping which [were] acting, voice, being a voice-over talent and provide artist support and development to other artists.

I feel like there’s a certain element missing especially when it comes to women in hip-hop. It feels like the media will only let one top woman be at the top, right. Are you listening to anyone in hip-hop in this generation?

I enjoy Macklemore. I don’t just like his music. I like him as a person. There are some emcees, I may like a song or a line they said. I might like a body of work. To say I like him as a person, I didn’t know him personally but what he’s able to convey in his music, not just the music, he gets up and accepts an award, talks about Trayvon Martin in his speech, I like that guy. He uses his time wisely, he never lets a movement be wasted and he’s very purposeful and meaningful. That’s what I like about him.

Nicki Minaj has a song [which] she claims is women empowerment, called “Looking A** Ni**a.” When she posted a photo from her Instagram account and the artwork for the single, it was an iconic image of Malcolm X holding a rifle and looking out the window. She claimed, “I’m just trying to convey a message, Malcolm X was trying to make sure he defending from all these ni**as.” She later apologized, but I would assume someone who is from an older generation of emcees would be offended by it.

I’m a little closer to the generation impacted and was directly affected by what would cause that great leader to stand by his window with that piece of machinery, artillery. Was I here for what he did or the passing of him? No. That happened prior to my existence; however I am still of aware of not only what he did for me but what he’s done for us and the world over. Why is it that I cannot tap into what would cause that is because my mind is filled with what really caused that [sic].

Two years ago R&B singer Frank Ocean said that he has been in love with a man at one point in time in his life. And just this year NFL prospect Michael Sam came out of the closet. Do you think we would ever see the day where there is an openly gay mainstream rapper?

I will never say never. Kudos is such a corny word but Kudos to all of the people that you just mentioned for being able to live their lives out loud. If that’s what they needed to do in order to feel free, so be it. With [Michael Sam], I don’t know this story but thank you. You’re actually updating me on news. That’s great for him. I’m sure his life will not be the same. But then, who expects it to be?.

REALLY? Spike Lee CONFIRMS "School Daze" Sequel, Script Completed
After 25 years , director/writer Spike Lee has confirmed that a script for the sequel to "School Daze" has been completed. "School Daze" was loosely based on Spike Lee's experiences at Atlanta's Morehouse College, Spelman College and Clark Atlanta University.  And it set the landscape for what every one who watched the movie expected to experience once they got to college.
The story follows a clash between fraternity and sorority members at a historically black college during homecoming weekend. The movie also touched on issues within the African-American community, such as intra-racism related to skin tone and hair quality.

Spike Lee revealed to Black&Sexy TV:
“I had the script for ‘School Daze.  But, what people have to understand is that it’s a contemporary version. So it’s the same school, Mission College, 25 years later,” explained Lee. “Hopefully I can get Laurence Fishburne to play Dap. He’ll be the president now of the school. And we would deal with issues around Historically Black Colleges today.”
Spike says the sequel will examine the same issues young college students faced in the late 80s and will also touch on new issues students face in college today, such as homophia and pledging a fraternity/sorority.
We are only here for this if they keep it REAL for the most part about college like they did in the first one. But...your thoughts?

"Hollywood Exes" Nicole Murphy Flosses Her KILLER Bod On The Beach In Maui With Hot Castmates, Andrea Kelly Busts Those Splits!
The "Hollywood Exes" cast is living it up in Maui as they film for their third season. The ladies hit the beach for paddle board lessons and beach yoga.  You know, the activities that make them look pretty damn hot over 40.
Andrea Kelly (R. Kelly's ex-wife), Sheree Fletcher (Will Smith's ex-wife), Mayte Garcia (Prince's ex-wife), Nicole Murphy (Eddie Murphy's ex-wife), Shamicka Lawrence (Martin Lawrence's ex-wife) and newest cast memeber Shanna Moakler (ex-wife of Travis Barker) were all smiles filiming their segment.

Sidebar: Did anybody else watch "Meet The Barkers" in 2005-2006 when Shanna was married to Travis Barker?  Loved it!
46-year-old Nicole Murphy looked SUPER hot in her mini royal blue bikini showing off her toned long legs and washboard abs. She accessorized, like any beach babe would, with big gold hoop earrings, gold body chain and gold bangels.
This woman's body is sick. One can only WISH to look like this at 46 years old.  or any age...
We're assuming she's been working even harder than usual to get ready for her wedding to retired NFL player Michael Strahan (who's currently hosts Live With Kelly And Michael).
Not sure what else they're waiting on....Probably much harder than it looks.

Andrea showed off her flexibility doing splits on the beach.  Get it...
While Shamicka got cute posing in the sand.
Fun times.
"Hollywood Exes"premieres Wednesday, April 30th at 9:00 PM ET/ PT on VH1.

Mario Snaps A Pic In His Boxers
If folks don’t start supporting our R&B artists and their music soon, EVERYBODY is gonna be naked!
And we are not complaining one bit!

Last week, Trey Songz had his fans all hot and bothered after he posted a pic of him shirtless rocking his new Calvin Klein boxers, and now Mario has jumped on the boxer-brief selfie bandwagon.
In some sort of unofficial R&B boxer face-off, Mario posted a pic of himself in his undies over the weekend with the caption:
Ladies only | I had a dream that I would play in the next spartan movie so I woke up like this | God.

Mario laid a thirst trap, and the women came a running!

Kanye West Yeezus Tour Ticket Prices Slashed Due To Poor Sales
The second half of Kanye West's Yeezus tour wasn't as popular as he surely hoped. Due to poor sales, the prices of tickets to recent NYC area shows were slashed with some even given away for free.99.
Reports Page Six:
Ticket sales for the second half of Kanye West's “Yeezus” tour were so dismal, prices were slashed and freebies were given out at the last minute for shows in New Jersey and New York.
We're told several brokers were offering massively discounted tickets — and even free ones — for shows at the Prudential Center last week and for Sunday's Nassau Coliseum gig, after only half of tickets for the Prudential Center show were sold, while just a third of the tickets were sold for Sunday's Nassau show.
This shouldn't be too much of a shock since Yeezy already performed four times in NYC during the first half of the tour, which also had low ticket tales in certain cities, too.
Nevertheless, the nine additional shows managed to include their share of new Kanye West rants.

Spotted: Kerry Washington Hits The Set Of “Scandal”
Kerry Washington was spotted on the Pasadena set of Scandal on Monday. With her hair pinned in curls, the 36-year-old actress kept it comfy in maternity denims, a black top and UGGs, as she prepped for her role as D.C. fixer, Olivia Pope.

When news of Kerry’s pregnancy first began to circulate, there was the question of whether it would be written into the show. At the time, an insider stated that it was unlikely Olivia Pope would get pregnant, as “It would slow Olivia and the show down.” It was said that the most likely scenario is that Kerry’s pregnancy will be hidden and the production schedule will be slightly altered if needed.
She made her way to a trailer for finishing touches to hair, makeup, and wardrobe - and later appeared looking fab in a black and white ensemble.
Kerry took home the Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series award for the ABC smash hit drama, at the 45th Annual NAACP Images Awards

OOOOPS: Fabolous Tries To Be Sneaky On Instagram Telling Model To "Hit Me"
Lately, rapper Fabolous and long time girlfriend, former "Love & Hip Hop" star Emily B have been displaying their love publicly by popping up in pictures together left and right. But that hasn’t stopped Fab from hitting up model chicks on Instagram. Check out Fab’s pimp game
Fabolous and Emily B just celebrated Fab’s 36th birthday back in November with a “Great Gatsby” themed party at Jazz Room at The General in New York City. The couple also celebrated Em's birthday earlier this month at PYNK Magazine's NYFW dinner.

But NOW, Fab is using his free time to brush up on his pimp game. The rapper was caught commenting under model (we’re using that term loosely), Alyssa Sorto’s Instagram photo telling her to “hit me” after she tagged his Instagram handle under her picture.  And after she called him "Smooth".
Really Fab? SMH...
Emily B. hasn’t said anything about Fab hitting up this chick and neither has he. We wonder if she even knows he’s doing this. Well, she does now. What do you think Fab was telling Alyssa to hit him up for?

Questions that need answers...
By the way, we perused her pics and noticed she's a true selfie-lover. But by time of publication, she changed her IG account to private.  Looks like someone possibly re-thought some things...

AND FINALLY FROM “THE CRAZY PEOPLE SHOPPING AT WALMART” FILES
‘KIDS CUTS’
Ohhh children, they do the darndest things. Obviously it’s not the kid’s fault, if you let them do whatever they want they’ll run a muck. I’m just curious which haircut you parents out there would allow your kid to rock?

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!
