R.I.P Three Six Mafia’s Lord Infamous Dies!

Three Six Mafia’s Lord Infamous Dies!
The hip-hop community is mourning the death of founding Three Six Mafia rapper Lord Infamous.  Born Ricky Dunigan, the 40-year-old emcee passed away Friday night at his mother’s house in Memphis, Tennessee.  While an official cause of death hasn’t been determined, Dunigan’s Three Six Mafia groupmate, DJ Paul, reports that Lord Infamous “had a heart attack in his sleep” and that his mother found him dead early Saturday morning.
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Lord Infamous first teamed up with DJ Paul and Juicy J in the early 1990s to start the group “The Backyard Posse.”  As the group added members, they changed the name to Three Six Mafia before releasing their debut album “Mystic Stylez” in 1995.  The group has released nine albums, including the 2008 record “Last 2 Walk.”  Lord Infamous was recently working with four other members of Three Six Mafia on a project for their spinoff group, Da Mafia 6ix [[ six ]].
On Twitter, Three Six Mafia rapper Juicy J writes that he’s “very hurt” by Dunigan’s passing and that he “can’t believe it’s true.”  Juicy also thanked fans for their prayers.  Gangsta Boo says her “heart is in pieces” and that she’ll “never forget the shows we rocked together.”
Among the other artists who have voiced their condolences are Bun B, Lupe Fiasco, Space Ghost Purrp and Lil Wyte R.I.P!
