Actor Brandon T. Jackson Allegedly Called N-Word & Kicked Off US Airways Flight
African American comedic actor Brandon T. Jackson is claiming an alleged and unfortunate incident took place on a recent domestic US Airways fight. According to the 29-year-old (whose credits include 8 Mile, Roll Bounce, Tropic Thunder, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, etc), one of the flight attendants called him the N-word and after some type of verbal exchange (we’re assuming this part), he was escorted off the plane. He claims that later he was not allowed to catch his connecting flight on US Airways, after being questioned by police. During the incident, he shared his story on Twitter, asking media to share the story with the public. He wrote:

US AIRWAYS their so racist they said “i don”t care if your Obama son get in your seat!!” Flight 629 flight attendant “DEE” please help !!!! blogs please help me pick this up they called me the N-word and said i don’t care if your Obama son us airways flight 629 attendant dee … i wish this racist generation just hurry up and die off… im tired of this … they want to escort me off the plane for her saying racial stuff i have witness … somebody please tweet about this this is insane … Dear #USAIRWAYS your staff is racist they said i dont care if your obama son get in your seat!!! @rolandsmartin I’m Actor not a thug … the problem is they want to escort me off the plane for her racial slurs … GUYS i need you help i am not going to jail for be called racial slurs please…We are about to land i have to turn my computer off if your a real fan you will help me rally … i cant go to jail for rascism against me…The cops are questioning me this is ridiculous … Please help…I was released from question and stranded in phx they will not let me fly anymore I don’t want to .. God bless guys thanks for the support …guys

So what’s US Airways side of the story? TMZ reports that the airlines alleges that Brandon was obnoxiously playing loud music and was intoxicated. The rep told the outlet:

The disruptive behavior started with loud music being played by Mr. Jackson at his seat.  He was asked several times to turn down the music.  Additional erratic behavior was observed and that is when the crew made the decision to stop serving [alcohol to Brandon].

Crew members adamantly deny using the N-word, despite the actor’s allegations. When Jackson’s flight landed in Phoenix (where he was supposed to catch a connecting flight to Burbank) he was escorted off the plane and interviewed by the Phoenix police department.  Cops determined no crime was committed and he was allowed to leave — but US Airways banned him from getting on the plane to BUR. What are your thoughts and whose version of events do you believe?

ABC News' Elizabeth Vargas Checks Into Alcohol Rehab
Taking control of the situation before hitting rock bottom, Elizabeth Vargas checked herself into an alcohol treatment facility a few weeks ago.

In a statement, the "20/20" co-anchor shared, "Like so many people, I am dealing with addiction. I realized I was becoming increasingly dependent on alcohol. I am in treatment and am so thankful for the love and support of my family, friends and colleagues at ABC News. Like so many others, I will deal with this challenge a day at a time. If coming forward today gives one other person the courage to seek help, I’m grateful.”
Supporting their valued employee, the network also released a statement, saying, "We are proud of the steps Elizabeth has taken and are pulling for her recovery. We look forward to having her back home at ABC News where she has done so much distinguished work over the years. Elizabeth is a member of our family and we will support her in every way we can.”

Reportedly, the 51-year-old journalist will spend another few weeks at the facility and her return date to ABC News has not yet been set.

Super Soaker Creator Awarded $72.9M From Toymaker Hasbro [PHOTOS]
You may not think it takes a rocket scientist to create a water gun but your assumption would be inaccurate.
Lonnie Johnson is the founder of Johnson Research and Development Co., an Atlanta-based company and creators of the Super Soaker and other Nerf toy guns. He holds nearly 100 patents for his inventions and his background includes serving in the Air Force and working as a nuclear engineer for NASA.
Brilliance as you may know, has the habit of being challenged.
After toymaker giant, Hasbro purchased all licensing for the historic water gun, contractal disputes arouse. It was alleged that Hasbro skimmed out on royalty payments for five years, ranging between 2007-2012.
A resolution has been drawn with Johnson & Co coming out as the victor.
Reports AJC:
The arbitration agreement resolves a 2001 inventors dispute in which Hasbro agreed to pay Johnson royalties for products covered by his Nerf line of toys, specifically the N-Strike and Dart Tag brands, King & Spalding attorney Ben Easterlin said.
In a separate breach of contract suit filed in U.S. District Court in Atlanta in February, Johnson accuses Hasbro of violating a 1996 agreement to pay him Super Soaker royalties of 2 percent for “three-dimensional products” based on the appearance of the toy and 1 percent for “two-dimensional visual representations.”
The suit says Hasbro sold water guns that were “visually similar and based upon the appearance of Super Soaker water guns that incorporate Johnson's technology.” Johnson also wanted the court to force Hasbro to open its books to determine sales of Super Soaker products from 2006 to 2012.
History shows us that even the greatest of minds can get shorted on what's rightfully their's so it's good to see Mr. Johnson and his team come out on top.

Say What! The History Channel Remaking “Roots”

“Roots” is getting a reboot.
The History Channel will be remaking the 1977 miniseries after nabbing the rights to the original from Mark Wolper, son of late “Roots” exec producer David L. Wolper, along with the rights to the 1976 novel “Roots: The Saga of an American Family.”
Roots movie
“Roots” will be transformed into an eight-hour miniseries for History, with Mark Wolper exec producing. The project is said to draw from the book and 1977 mini, while offering a contemporary perspective.
“Roots” debuted on ABC in January 1977, and earned dozens of Emmy noms, along with nine wins. The finale of the original “Roots” mini still ranks as the third highest-rated TV broadcast, per Nielsen ratings, with 100 million viewers.

Why mess with a classic…they bet not mess it up!

The Celebs come for The "Best Man Holiday" Hollywood Premiere
The cast of Best Man Holiday and more put on their red carpet best for the big Hollywood premiere.
Sanaa Lathan & Taye Diggs took their chemistry off camera to pose it up together at the premiere of Universal Pictures' The Best Man Holiday at the Chinese Theatre in L.A.
In a hot wine & black strapless asymmetrical peplum dress by Donna Karan, Sanaa looked stunning as usual.
And it was so effortless.  Flawless look.

And speaking of flawless...
Even while fixing her Michael Costello dress on the carpet, Nia Long looked gorge in the color of the season and black peep toe pumps.  Perfect statement jewelry, hair and makeup completed her look.
And she posed it up with director Malcolm Lee.
Hottie Morris Chestnut had his wife of almost 18 years, Pam, on his arm for his big night.
Pretty lady Regina Hall rocked a red lace Lorena Sarbu jumpsuit.  Loves it.
Monica Calhoun posed it up with her co-star Nia in this sparkly silver number.
And we're wondering if she's hiding a baby bump under this frock...
The fabulous Melissa de Sousa hit the carpet in this dramatic strapless blue Pamella Roland sparkling gown complete with a sheer black train.
Actress Rochelle Aytes donned a holiday red look for the occasion.
Terrence Howard put on his pinstripes for his big night.
And his co-star Taye Diggs posed it up with one of the child stars from the movie, Linden Liles McCurdy.
And rounding out the male cast members, Harold Perrineau was there with his wife Brittany.
Singer Michelle Williams was on the carpet supporting her celeb friends.  And she rocked a figure hugging Michael Costello dress.
The carpet was all about the sparkles and Holiday inspirations apparently.  "The TLC Story" actress Lil Mama rocked this silver gown with her green short bob.  And, somehow, it worked for her.
Daphne Wayans was on hand to support the big Holiday movie.
Even Mario, who appears on the movie's soundtrack, came out to support.
And so did crooner Ne-Yo who also appears on the soundtrack.
Over at the afterparty at the Roosevelt Hotel:
The cast partied it up and rightfully so as they have much to celebrate.  We got to see a screening of the film, and it's totally worth your time and money to catch it yourself.  It's an emotional rollercoaster and a MUST SEE.  Trust us.

Best Man Holiday hits theaters November 15th

Chief Keef Returns To Jail, Again
Chief Keef, released from incarceration just two weeks ago for good behavior, will make his not-so-triumphant return to Cook County jail after a court appearance today. No, this is not a joke.
As reported by Chicago Sun-Times, Keef appeared before a judge at 1:30 pm today because of a traffic charge. Soon after, the rapper born Keith Cozart posted a photo on Instagram that's captioned, "In court Finna go to Jail Judge Wants to send me," with matching emojis to boot.
At the moment, it's unclear why Keef was detained, but the fact of the matter is that he's looks to have violated his probation for whatever reason and is heading back to the big house.
In October, Keef was sentenced to 20 days after testing positive for marijuana. And this follows an array of arrests in 2013 alone.
Come on, bro.
Here's to hoping Chief Keef will get his act together.
