A Good Night!

THE GRAMMY’S 2013 RED CARPET
Celebs brought out all types of trends at The 2013 GRAMMY Awards Red Carpet!  From spring white to revealing sheer panels to extra high slits to bold prints....the folks are bringing it.
Check out all the looks from the red carpet
Beyonce played it safe (and we wished she wouldn't have) in a chic black & white Osman number with fitted pants.

We're not too mad because chick's body looks amazing in it.  She knows what works for her.  But we wanted a bit more "umph" from Queen Bey.  She could have saved this for one of those many office visits she makes in the middle of Manhattan.

Chris Brown didn't walk the carpet with his boo Rihanna (who showed up a bit later), but he definitely stood out in his stark spring white Lanvin suit.  Men in white suits are almost always a win.  And we gotta hand it to Chris...he looks clean, polished and tailored.

When Ryan Seacrest asked him about his recent car accident, Chris (whose rep just announced he is suing the paparazzi who caused it) brushed it off saying, "It's all good. Paparazzi get a little out of hand sometimes."

Chris sat with girlfriend Rihanna...who looked pretty comfy in the audience together.

And were loving Rihanna's breath of fresh red.  Her dress--with slight sheer paneling and her signature nippleage--is a custom creation by Alaia.  She paired it with Manolo Blahnik heels.

Gorge.
Let's take a moment for Kelly Rowland's Georges Chakra dress please:

Perfection.  She said f**k the CBS/GRAMMY dress code memo and did her in this black and sheer paneled revealing dress.  And did it well, complimented by Lorraine Schwartz jewels and RGB nail polish.  Easily one of our fave looks of the night.
Jennifer Lopez came to PLAY in this Anthony Vaccarello ridiculously sexy dress.  The 43-year-old tossed the strict GRAMMY/CBS dress code to the wind and had a slit up to her hooha...and sexy gold plated ankle cuff sandals to match.  One of our fave looks of the night.

WORK Jenny.  Yeah we see you too Casper.  Oh, and if you care, she revealed on the red carept that she's working on new music again.

Alicia Keys rocked a sexy Azzedine Alaia black criss-cross semi-bare midriff mermaid dress as she posed it up on the carpet with her husband Swizz Beatz.

Aww. Love the snakeskin top and this is a fabulous look on her. Solange Knowles rocked the trendy color of the season--emerald green:

We always love curly wiggery, but we're torn on the dress itself.  It's rare we're not a fan of her bold color choices, but it's a toss up.  Love the pink studded Louboutin pumps she used to complete her look.

Estelle surprised us with one of our fave looks of the night once again.  And she designed it herself with Love Collins.  The two piece midriff baring fitted look was covered in an orange and white print.  And she paired the fun yet sexy look with a simple gold necklace by Royal Asscher.

Ashanti hit the carpet in a black chiffon cut-out-bust dress.  And it was covered in stars and prints.  Even with the slit, it felt a bit young for her.  Like her little sister wore this to prom last year or something.  And we're not loving it.

But that makeup was on point as usual.
As for the bigest baby bump of the night--Amber Rose in Donna Karan.  And can you believe she still has another THREE WEEKS to go?!

The mom to be was beaming as she told Guiliana Rancic on the carpet that she and fiance Wiz Khalifa, who's set to perform tonight and is also nominated, are preparing for a home birth.
Good luck with that!  Wiz rocked our fave Tom Ford white dinner jacket look.  And the twosome looked extra happy and in love.  Very cute.

New Grammy winner Frank Ocean hit the carpet alongside Nas.

Nas rocked a custom tailored look from Brioni.

Drake made his way to red carpet looking dapper after winning Best Rap Album in the pre-show

.
Elle Varner, who's nominated tonight, skipped over to the CLEAR Ultra Shea suite in a gorgeous black & white strapless gown by Emil Couture.  It's the first time we've seen her hair straightened.  And we're loving this look as well.

Tamia surprised us all in a dark gold Michael Costello dress and vintage turban with Jimmy Choo shoes.  Are we feelin' it?

Erica Campbell of Mary Mary kept it sexy in this simple black curve hugging dress and leopard strappy heels.

Rocsi stayed on the white trend with a pretty pantsuit from 5th & Mercer and simple gold necklaces, tousled hair and a pop of pink on the lips.  Perfect L.A. look.

Sean Paul and his new mohawk hit the carpet with his Versace chain.

Ok Sway. Suited up in the Easter Sunday 3 piece suit.  Gotta love it.  And the pink shoelaces.  Details.

The gospel artist favorites Fred Hammond and Marvin Sapp hit the carpet.

Shaun Robinson rocked her usual look of a long flowing brightly colored gown.
Questlove of the Roots had his Grammy tickets ready as he entered with his mom as his date.  Sweet!

Janelle Monae said she had input on the creation of her look for tonight.  No cape, but still her signature tailored black and white elaborate pants suit.  And the CoverGirl spokeswoman rocked CoverGirl nail polish for her manicure.

Host LL Cool J brought his wife Simone on the carpet of course.

Frank Ocean and his injured fingers after that Chris Brown altercation hit the red carpet.  He revealed he's nervous as hell about performing tonight.
John Legend and fiance Chrissy hit the carpet.  Chrissy's two piece dress was pretty sexy...and probably barely made that dress code cut.

Fun Times!

What better way to kick-start the morning than with sexy pics of Idris Elba.

The Ladies hit THE RUNWAY For The 2013 Heart Truth Red Dress Fashion Show
It's that time again.  New York Fashion Week kicked off and the show that sets things off is the Red Dress fashion show, which reminds women that everyone has a role to play in the fight against heart disease.
Like every year, The Heart Truth campaign, sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute hit the Hammerstein Ballroom to showcase the 2013 Red Dress Collection via some of our fave celebs.

A run down of the celeb ladies--spotted above on the catwalk after the big show--who donned fab gowns for a cause: Brenda Strong, Cindy Parsons, Gabrielle Douglas, Jamie Chung, Jillian Michaels, Kelly Osbourne, Kendall Jenner, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Minka Kelly, Nastia Liukin, Roselyn Sánchez, Savannah Guthrie, Soledad O'Brien, Toni Braxton, Torah Bright, and Wendy Williams.

Toni Braxton kept it sexy in a two-toned red Herve L. Leroux cut-out dress and strutted down the runway to her own epic, “Unbreak My Heart.”  About her dress, she said, "I love it because of the built-in Spanx!" Work.  The wig is a bit wiggy, but it works.
Talk show maven Wendy Williams looked great in a Normal Kamali Kulture one shoulder dress with her nude studded Louboutin pumps.
She strutted down the catwalk in true Wendy style--to Diana Ross' "I'm Coming Out."

Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas popped up backstage and on the runway in a Pamella Roland hi-lo gown.
And with a glossy red lip, the teen revealed that Beyonce's Superbowl performance is where she got her inspiration for her big walk.  “She is incredible, and she made it look so easy!”
And before walking the runway to "Girl On Fire," she said, "I'm going for Gabby! I just want to be myself and my own look. "I'm just going to go out there and have fun!"

And actress Roselyn Sanchez salsa'd her way down the runway to Gloria Estefan's "Conga" in one of our fave dresses--a lace illusion paneled Tadashi Shoji gown.

Uncle Luke Campbell to Rick Ross. End the Beef Before you meet THE GRAVE!
Fans aren’t the only ones outside of Rick Ross’ (real name William Leonard Roberts II) circle concerned about his recent violent run-in outside a restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale. O.G. Uncle Luke has penned an open-letter in the Miami Herald, warning the 37-year-old rapper to take death threats and his behavior serious. He wrote:

Dear Rick Ross: As someone who survived several rap beefs, I’m going to give you some advice. You need to seriously address the threats and attempts on your life. You have worked hard to become a big name in hip-hop. You’ve paid your dues and you’ve grown lyrically since the release of your debut album, Port of Miami, in 2006. You’ve arrived, buddy.
But all this gangster bullshit is jeopardizing your career. No club or arena is going to risk people getting shot. You can forget about doing any tours or CD signings. And if you can’t make money, watch how fast Warner Bros. Records turns on you. I know from experience how venues and the music industry would like to black ball you.

You have the Gangster Disciples breathing down your neck because you’ve named-dropped Larry Hoover, the gang’s founder, in your music. Unlike the record and book publishing industries, these bad dudes don’t understand the concept of public domain. They see you getting rich forever by rapping about their leader, and they don’t like it. That’s why they’re on YouTube talking about how you need to go see them and cut a check.
It’s a shame you can’t enjoy life without spending part of your earnings on heavy security or risking your freedom by purchasing an arsenal. Remember, that’s what landed T.I. and Lil Wayne in prison. You don’t want that to happen to you. However, those are the consequences of rapping about being something you’re not.

Hip-hop has a rich history of college guys who never committed a crime rapping about moving kilos of cocaine and taking out snitches. Every gangster rapper takes on the role of a real hood legend to build up street cred. But I don’t want you to fall into the trap of believing you are really a gangster.

Trust me, you don’t want to go out like Biggie Smalls or Tupac. It’s time you squash your beefs.

Take heed Rick before its too late!

Alicia Keys Headlines 2013 NBA All-Star Game Halftime Show

The 32-year-old star will perform a selection of her chart-topping hits as part of the All-Star Game “Entertainment Series presented by Sean John at Macy’s.” Also performing will be the likes of Ne-Yo - who has been tapped to welcome the players to the court with some of his hits – and John Legend, who’ll sing the national anthem. Nick Cannon will host State Farm All-Star Saturday Night, airing live at 7 p.m (Feb 16).
The game will air live at 8 p.m. ET on TNT.

New York Giants Cut Ahmad Bradshaw and Chris Canty
The New York Giants have cut both Bradshaw and defensive tackle Chris Canty. Both saw their production decline in 2012, as the team bringing in younger talent to push them on the depth chart.

Bradshaw rushed for 1,000 yards for the second time in three seasons in 2012. However, his chronic foot issues have kept him out of six games over the last two seasons. Bradshaw was an integral aspect of two Super Bowl championships with the Giants and he will undoubtedly be remembered in a positive light for his six-year stint in Blue. It's still possible the team offers him a short term deal at below market value to return. However, Bradshaw is still a productive No.2 running back in the NFL and will likely find a team wiling to pay him more than the Giants.

Head coach Tom Coughlin recognized Bradshaw for all he brought to the team throughout his career in an interview with Giants.com.
"Ahmad Bradshaw was drafted 250th in a class of 255 and to excel and to perform the way that he has, and to accomplish what he has, is a great tribute to him,” coach Tom Coughlin said. “He is not only an exceptional football player, but he is the epitome of line up and play. Regardless of the circumstances, he’s going to give you everything he’s got. If you give the ball to him, he’s going to get every inch of what is there – and sometimes when it’s not blocked, he still gets it.”

Canty signed with the Giants in 2009 after playing his first four seasons as a member of the Dallas Cowboys. In his first three seasons with the Giants, Canty was a consistent presence in the middle who was able to create a pass rush from the interior. In 2011, he mustered up four sacks and 47 tackles, both career highs. However, after missing the first six games of the season due to a back injury, Canty was unable to stay productive in 2012.

Canty, who recently received the Thurman Munson award for outstanding philanthropic service, was spoken highly of by general manager Jerry Reese.

"Chris Canty is a pro’s pro, a true team player and competitor,” Reese said. “He helped us get to the top in 2011 and it was a pleasure having him here during his time with the New York Giants.”
The Giants save $10 million of salary cap room by cutting Bradshaw and Canty. The team is now a projected $8.6 million under the salary cap for next season, with more restructures and cuts sure to come. Some of that money is going to be allocated to signing draft picks, but most of it is going help solve some major issues that held this team out of the playoffs in 2013.

The team also released defensive tackle Martin Parker. Parker was placed on the injured reserve during the preseason with a herniated disk in his back. The injury required surgery, which is usually a bad omen for linemen.

Michelle Williams Responds To Haters
Michelle Williams issued a classy response today to the critics of her performance during the Superbowl halftime show. As I previously reported, Keyshia Cole took to Twitter to blast Michelle Williams for “f**kin up the groove” of the Destiny’s Child reunion performance. And yeah, she may have been slightly stiff since it’s been a while since she’s danced it out on stage. But today, she posted to her Facebook page the above post-performance pic with her “sisters” Beyonce & Kelly, and urged ladies to “stick together & support each other.”

It was an honor to share the stage with my sisters Kelly Rowland and Beyoncé on Sunday night. To all my ladies, we must learn to stick together and support each other. The incredible Alicia Keys and Jennifer Hudson did an amazing job too! Thank you to my sister Beyonce for sharing your moment with Destiny’s Child. Love you!

Doubt Keyshia Cole will respond…or even care. But on the upside of things: Record sales for Destiny’s Child shot up by 600% right after Sunday’s on-stage reunion. So Keyshia Take that!

ON THE SET: Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker & Jennifer Hudson FILMING "Black Nativity" In NYC
Angela Bassett was spotted getting her lip gloss touched up on the set of her latest film Black Nativity in New York City.  Angela stars alongside Forest Whitaker in the "retelling" of the Bible's Nativity Story (based on a gospel musical originally written by Langston Hughes).   And it's a Holiday musical that's sure to be interesting with an ensemble cast.  According to blackfilm.com,
"‘Black Nativity’ follows Langston (JACOB LATIMORE), a street-wise teen from Baltimore raised by a single mother, as he journeys to New York City to spend the Christmas holiday with his estranged relatives Reverend Cornell and Aretha Cobbs (FOREST WHITAKER and ANGELA BASSETT). Unwilling to live by the imposing Reverend Cobbs’ rules, a frustrated Langston is determined to return home to his mother, Naima (JENNIFER HUDSON). Langston embarks on a surprising and inspirational journey and along with new friends, and a little divine intervention, he discovers the true meaning of faith, healing, and family."
Jennifer Hudson, who nows stars on NBC series "Smash" and is fresh off her Superbowl perfomance, was also on set where she was snapped walking through Times Square.
Kasi Lemmons (who also directed the film Eve's Bayou) is writing and directing the updated reworking of the Hughes musical and spoke abut the project saying, “This is a universal story of faith and family, a marker of our times, and an endearing Christmas tale, infused with music from hip-hop to R&B to gospel.”
And fans can expect to hear a fabulous musical score with original lyrics and arrangements from record producer Raphael Saadiq.  And with Mary J.Bige, Nas, Tyrese, Luke James and more also announced among the castmembers, we're sure there will be some power songs through the film.

T.J. Jackson 'needs more money' to look after Michael Jackson's children Paris, Prince and Blanket
T.J. Jackson needs more money to look after Michael Jackson's children.
Executors for the late King of Pop's estate have requested a judge provide his nephew a reasonable monthly income to provide care for the famous offspring, reports TMZ.com.
T.J was granted co-guardianship of the late singer's three children, Prince, Paris and Blanket, along with their grandmother Katherine Jackson in July 2012.

According to court documents filed by the executors, while the 34-year-old singer has been devoted to looking after the children for 40 hours per week, he is experiencing hardship as he hasn't received any financial support since taking on the role of surrogate father.
It is proposed that Michael's estate pays T.J. - who is married with three children of his own - $9,000 per month to adequately look after Prince, 15, Paris, 14, and Blanket, 10, with the amount backdated to the start of his guardianship last summer.
The former 3T singer, whose father is Michael's brother Tito, has been sharing custody of the Thriller star's children with Katherine since July when the family matriarch allegedly went missing and hadn't been in contact with her grandchildren for days.
The change in guardianship came amidst a messy family dispute in which five of Michael's siblings - Janet, Jermaine, Randy, Rebbie and Tito Jackson - claimed Katherine was being misled by the executors of the estate and ill-advised by her manager and lawyer.
A plan was hashed out last year where responsibility for managing staff and security at their California home would shift to TJ.
Katherine Jackson's lawyer Perry Sanders told a court she would keep control of a family allowance worth tens of thousands of dollars a month.
He added in a statement last July: 'Mrs. Jackson is extremely pleased with the prospect of enjoying the pleasure of raising Michael's children without the day-to-day tedium of items such as managing the large staff that goes with such a high-profile family, and focus her attention on being a grandmother and raising Michael's children.'

King and Shabazz Family Disappointed with Lifetime Movie
The Lifeitme original movie 'Betty and Coretta' starring Angela Bassett and Mary J. Blige as Corretta Scott-King and Dr. Betty Shabazz, the widows of Dr. Martin Luther King and Malcolm X, did not go over well with the surviving children...
Ilyasah Shabazz and Rev. Bernice King are extremely upset that the children were not consulted and that the film contained many inaccuracies.

Ilyasha tells The Washington Post,
“My mother was not a weak, timid, insecure woman as portrayed. She was regal, compassionate, strong, loving, beautiful, resilient and highly educated.”
Among the King family gripes that it was implied that Mrs. King believed her husband had been unfaithful based on tapes sent to their home from the FBI that allegedly captured Dr. King with a lover.

The King family has long insisted the actual tape sent by the FBI contained no sex sounds as was reported by the media, just people at a social gathering telling dirty jokes accompanied with a note that Dr. King was about to be exposed and should commit suicide to save face.
