The Daily Buzz For Dec 28

Instagram Reverses Course on Policy Changes
The uproar over Instagram's proposed terms of service update has prompted the photo-sharing service to abandon advertising-related changes and stick with the status quo.
"It became clear that we failed to fulfill what I consider one of our most important responsibilities – to communicate our intentions clearly. I am sorry for that, and I am focused on making it right," Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom wrote in a blog post.
As a result, the changes - which were set to go into effect on Jan. 16 - are on hold for now. "Because of the feedback we have heard from you, we are reverting this advertising section to the original version that has been in effect since we launched the service in October 2010," Systrom wrote.
Though Instagram initially characterized the updates to its privacy policy and terms of service as "a little dry," one particular provision suggested that the service might have permission to sell its users' photos.
Under the "Rights" section of its updated Terms of Use, Instagram said that by posting photos to its service, "you agree that a business or other entity may pay us to display your username, likeness, photos (along with any associated metadata), and/or actions you take, in connection with paid or sponsored content or promotions, without any compensation to you."
The news prompted swift backlash, with celebrities and the Instagram faithful threatening to shut down their accounts. Systrom took to the blog to insist that Instagram was not going to sell its users' photos, and apologized for any confusion.
Going forward, Systrom said Instagram will not introduce over-arching policy changes related to advertising products that are still in the planning stages. "We are going to take the time to complete our plans, and then come back to our users and explain how we would like for our advertising business to work," he wrote.
Systrom also reiterated that peoples' content is their own. "I want to be really clear: Instagram has no intention of selling your photos, and we never did. We don't own your photos – you do," he wrote.
Instagram did make a "small change" to its terms to highlight that the distribution of your photos "is governed by our privacy policy, and always has been." All changes will now go into effect on Jan. 19.

SERIOUSLY? Rapper Shawty Lo Lands Reality Show Called ‘All My Babies’ Mamas’
I betcha didn’t know that Atlanta rapper Shawty Lo (real name Carlos Walker) has 11 kids, with 10 baby mamas. I also betcha didn’t know that initially, he was casted for Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, but wasn’t allowed to participate because of his criminal record.

But lucky him, his chance at reality TV fame is not over. Deadline reports that a new reality show on Oxygen, called ‘All My Babies’ Mamas’, has been ordered. The site reports:
Oxygen Media has greenlighted for production All My Babies’ Mamas (working title), a one-hour unscripted special from former top MTV executives-turned-producersTony DiSanto and Liz Gateley.
Check out the rumored trailer below and chime in on whether you’ll tune in:

Slated to premiere next spring, the special chronicles the complicated lives of one man, his children’s mamas, and their army of children, capturing the highs and lows of this extreme ‘blended family’ as they navigate their financially and emotionally connected lives. All My Babies’ Mamas, which in success will likely serve as a backdoor pilot, will be produced by DiSanto and Gateley’s company DiGa Vision.
So who’s the leading baby daddy? Indie Wire confirms that the show will feature 36-year-old Shawty Lo.

Allen Iverson's Reebok- "Black/Gold" Out Dec. 29
Even if Allen Iverson himself were to never play a game of basketball again, his Reebok Question sneakers would get plenty of run. A.I.'s debut signature shoe will dropping in this very ill, in a good way, black and gold colorway on Saturday, December 29.
These retros originally released in 2006, to mark the 10th anniversary of one of Reebok's best selling sneakers ever. The irony is that while killing it in the Big East, Bubba Chuck rocked Nikes, particularly the Air Jordan XI Concords that still sell out in minutes. Nevertheless, once he wen't pro, Reebok signed the VA native to a lifetime deal that is still reaping rewards for both. Considering Iverson's recent money woes, those Reebok checks are coming in handy.
Check out photos of the Reebok Question Mid "Black/Gold" in the gallery.

With Swizz Beatz doing his best to elevate the OG brand's recognition in the sneaker market, bringing this colorway back was an easy decision. The shoe is mostly black with a leather upper, patent leather toebox and gold accents throughout including the logo on the heel and tongue tab. Hexalite cushioning also makes for a smooth ride.
The shoes will be available at Foot Locker, as well as Finish Line, Jimmy Jazz and Reebok.com for $125.

WHITNEY HOUSTON WAS MURDERED????
Private investigator claims he has video proving singer was killed by drug dealers
Whitney Houston was murdered by drug dealers and a new surveillance video proves it, a Hollywood private investigator is claiming
Paul Huebl says he has turned over evidence to the FBI that shows the 48-year-old singer was killed over a drug debt in February.
The medical examiner ruled that she drowned in her bathtub at the Beverley Hilton hotel after taking a cocktail of cocaine, marijuana and several legal drugs.
The National Enquirer is reporting that Huebl believes the troubled star was targeted by several 'high powered drug dealers who sent thugs to collect a huge debt she owed for drugs.'
She owed $1.5million to dealers, according to some reports.
However, Huebl told Sources that he doesn't know for certain that Houston was killed - only that evidence he collected could point in that direction.
He says that the star received a delivery of cocaine to her room the day before her death and could be heard saying 'I'm tired of this sh*t.'
He says the Houston had previously been subjected to harassment dealers trying to collect on her debt.
Huebl says he obtained surveillance video that shows two unknown men who repeatedly went to the Beverly Hilton and integrated themselves into Houston's entourage.
The private investigator claims these are the men who slipped into Houston's hotel room and killed her.
He also disagrees with the Los Angeles County Coroner's ruling that the star's death was 'accidental.'
'Whitney’s body shows classic defense wounds that would have occurred while she was battling for her life,' he told the Enquirer.
However, Huebl conceded that the marks on her hands and fingernails could have been obtained in some other ways and that they were only 'suspected' defensive wounds.
The private investigator said he also has evidence that Houston's hotel room was ransacked, showing further hints of a violent struggle.
Huebl says he gave his evidence to the Chicago field office of the FBI in the hopes that the agency will open a criminal investigation.
'I think that if you put all these things together, they do kind of spell homicide, with a big red capital "H,"' he told Sources.
The FBI did not immediately respond to requests for comment. A message left with Beverley Hills police was not immediately returned.
Heubl, a former Chicago police officer who became an actor after he retired, says he conducted the investigation after being hired by a client who did not believe the official reports on Houston's death.
Huebl believes Beverley Hills police did not fully investigate Houston's death because they did not want to bring the negative attention to Beverly Hills or to the Beverly Hilton.
Huebl would not say who hired him. And I don’t believe him AT ALL!

"Django Unchained" CASHES OUT With $15.5M In Box Office Sales, LANDS At #2
In wake of the Sandy Hook tragedy and the nation's public outcry against violence and guns, Django Unchained managed to weather the storm and overperform at the box office on Christmas day, taking in $15.5 Million in sales.
Guess he's not a fan of Tarantino's out-of-the-ordinary visions he always has for his films.

Despite protests from Spike and other critics, many of whom took issue with the liberal use of the "n-word" and what some thought was a mockery of slavery, the movie was expected to gross about $14M.  But it exceeded expectations and set a Christmas Day box office record for an R-rated movie.

18-Year-Old Aspiring Chicago Rapper Joshua Davis Killed For Wearing "Lil JoJo" Hoodie
The weather is getting cold in Chicago but that doesn't look like it's going to slow down the city's shooting epidemic. Aspiring rapper Joshua “JayLoud” Davis was shot and killed on Christmas Day following a dispute with several men, allegedly over his decision to wear a hoodie donning the name of Joseph “Lil JoJo” Coleman, who was gunned down over the summer.
Coleman was killed following an altercation with Chief Keef's people. His mother believes that Keef paid someone to kill her son.

Davis got into an argument with several men at around 11:30 p.m. Christmas night, on the 2000 block of West 69th Street, when one of the men pulled out a gun and opened fire. The 18-year-old was shot several times in the torso, as well as once in the ear. He was transported to Advocate Christ Hospital where he was pronounced dead one hour later. “It was my little brother,” Davis' older brother told local news station, Fox 32. “It was like the other half of my heart, and he gone now.”
The shooting was one of two that occurred blocks apart, the first of which involved a man shooting at his stepfather before police were called.
Authorities have yet to arrest anyone involved in Davis' death.
