Denzel Washington COVERS The October 2012 Issue of "GQ" AND Dishes On His LEGENDARY Roles And LIFE MANTRA
In his 42nd flim, 2 Guns, actor Denzel Washington stars with Mark Wahlberg where they play a DEA agent and an undercover Naval Intelligence officer who've both set up by the mob.  Filmed in New Orleans, the role is sure to become another legendary mark on the fab actors' career. And while dishing on a few of his fab roles, the actor donned a few dapper suits for the latest issue of GQ. Inside the mag, he dished on getting his start in the business, some of his legendary roles and the mantra he lives by in life.  Here are the highlights:

On his first memory of being onstage
I was around 7, 8, whatever I was. We did a talent show at the Boys Club. Me and another guy, Wayne Bridges—God rest his soul—he's the father of Chris Bridges, Ludacris. We decided to be the Beatles. So we went to John's Bargain Store and bought fake guitars and wigs and did "I Want to Hold Your Hand."

On his first gigs:
I remember something to do with Fruit of the Loom, but I don't think I got that. I did a Mrs. Paul's fish sticks. And I did a Burger King with Jeff Daniels. Or was it Mrs. Paul's fish sticks with Jeff Daniels? That was '77.
On his mantra:
I read from the Bible every day, and I read my Daily Word. I read something great yesterday. It said, "Don't aspire to make a living. Aspire to make a difference."

On meeting Frank Lucas for American Gangster:
I found a guy who can knock people off. How do you act that? When we were working on Man on Fire, [director] Tony Scott* sent me a tape about the Iceman, the guy that killed all of those people. Later I saw this footage of a young girl getting shot. She didn't do anything but drop. It's morbid fascination, but that's what I'm looking for. That's what I did in Training Day. After I get shot, there's no last speech. I want that reality.

On creating his "infamous" Training Day line:
A lot of credit goes to Antoine Fuqua, the director. He brought the gangster aspect into it. The script was more like a 2000 version of a Lethal Weapon kind of guy. That line "King Kong ain't got nothin' on me"—I made that up. The character's ego, he just did not think he could lose. That was his problem.
On feeling the Holy Spirit:
That was thirty years ago, at the church I still attend. The minister was preaching, "Just let it go." I said, "I'm going to go with it." And I had this tremendous physical and spiritual experience. It did frighten me. I was slobbering, crying, sweating. My cheeks blew up. I was purging. It was too intense. It almost drove me away. I called my mother, and she said I was being filled with the Holy Spirit. I was like, "Does that mean I can never have wine again?"

Steph Jones Opens Up On Difficult Past : “I Had Nowhere To Live”
If you’re anything like us, you’d know that we’ve got a little thing for Steph Jones.
If it’s not that beautiful voice….it’s his new found healthy living, responsible for that body.
However, in a recent interview with our sisters at Vibe Vixen, he’s revealed that life wasn’t always as beautiful as it is today. So difficult, he found himself homeless and without money, forced to live in his car up until last year.

He explained:
“When I moved to LA I became Steph Jones. I didn’t understand the concept of uniqueness and individuality. I didn’t allow that part of me to grow up. When I actively changed my name everything in my life changed in a constant magnetic flow of greatness.
I was living from check to check sometimes my phone had to get cut off . Sometimes I had to decide between putting gas in my car or food in my mouth.Years past and I would make money here and there but just enough to get by. Eventually the bills were piling up and I had no money coming in. The lease was up on my apartment so I started staying at different friends houses. Then I felt like I was wearing out my welcome. Then I was like, I got my car.
I was so numb with emotions I would just figure it out. Somedays I went without eating and somedays I would just cry myself to sleep in my jeep. Nobody knew that cause I had so much pride that i was willing to play the game of what people thought I was on the blogs.
The more I felt separated from who I really was the more I was dying mentally. It was so hard to bounce back because I was so laser focused on music and me being talented  in so many areas of my life that I didn’t even fathom the idea of entertaining anything else.”

When asked if his then lover Jordin Sparks, he explained:
“We didn’t live in the same state. I mean my mom didn’t even know. If my mom didn’t know and she knows everything, I could hide it from anybody.”

On how his life changed for the better:
“August 15th, 2011 at 3:47 am, I was at the post office outside of my PO box. I spoke to God like i’ve never spoken to him. Tears ran out of my body to where my body was cold and I said I had had enough. I wanna be around nothing but positive people but the industry is not a positive environment. There are positive people in it, but its a very cold place. A lot of my friends who are platinum selling artists hate there lives.I wanna be healthy and wanna make money but want the money to represent something that I believe in. Everything I asked for made its way into my life a week and a half later.
I did not quit music. I will write and sing in the comforts of my own home until I can build financial freedom where I can do it my way and I don’t have to conform to anybody else’s ideas. When I come back, I‘ll come back on my own terms. Now I have a place to live and I don’t have to sleep in my jeep anymore. I have financial freedom now and that represents fulfillment and happiness. People don’t realize this is what i’ve always wanted to do; help people and change lives.
I spoke up because you never know what people are going through on the inside and I didn’t want for someone whose going through what I went through to feel like they have no options. Change your mindset change your life.”

Just when we thought we couldn’t respect him anymore.
Like, it’s honesty like this that makes tough times seem a little easier to handle, proving that there is always light at the end of every tunnel.
Steph, we love, respect, admire you and can’t wait to watch the next phase of your growth

SERIOUSLY!?! McDonald’s In China Introduces The Black & White Burger
McDonald’s has launched a new burger in China the black or white buns, “they’re a play on a Chinese phrase ‘heibai liangdao tongchi,’ which describes people who are so well-connected with both the government (that’s the white side) and organized crime (‘black society’, as it’s called in Chinese) that they can ‘eat from both sides’.”
Inside the black burger packs a beef patty with chopped onions, black pepper sauce and a “black” bun topped with white sesame seeds. The white burger contains a chicken patty with sweet and spicy sauce and a white bun with black sesame seeds.
Chinese blog Beijing Cream gave the burger meal a scathing review, however, writing:
This meal offends everyone. I would sooner eat a century egg bathed in stinky tofu with a chicken-foot garnish than order this again.

I’m sure it won’t hit the USA.

Congrats to the couple.

Tyler Perry Racial Profiling Charges Dropped
The charges against the officers that were accused of racially profiling Tyler Perry were dropped
Creator of Diary Of A Mad Black Woman, Tyler Perry recently charged the Atlanta Police department for what he believed was racial profiling against him.  Perry explained that he was coming from an Atlanta studio and heading to the airport when he was stopped by two white police officers for making an illegal turn.  As stated on rhymeswithsnitch.com he said that he made the turn to ensure he wasn’t being followed, when the officers allegedly turned hostile, repeatedly badgered him and refused to let him go.

As stated on TMZ this is how the police said the incident unfolded:
Tyler Perry accused two cops of racially profiling him during a “hostile” traffic stop earlier this year — when they pulled Perry over in his $110,000 Porsche for making an illegal left turn.
Perry claimed he was eventually let go without receiving a ticket — because a black officer showed up to the scene and informed the two white officers that Perry was famous. The cops claim they believed Perry was driving a stolen car at the time — because it matched a description of a stolen vehicle — and that’s the primary reason he was pulled over.

According to the report, there was no dashboard camera in either patrol car to back up the cops’ testimony.
Following the investigation, an internal affairs officers stated, “I would submit the evidence shows the actions of both officers with the regard to the traffic stop of Mr. Perry were justified, lawful and proper.”
Luckily they harassed Tyler and not Medea or she might have sawed that police car in half!

Kimora must think her sh*t don’t stink?
Somebody should explain to Kimora Lee Simmons that when you have a larger than life celebrity persona any little thing you do can end up in the media so you should try really hard not to be a bitch in public...'
From NY Daily News
Is there such a thing as fashionably angry? While walking into the Empire Hotel right outside Lincoln Center with her children in tow the other day, Kimora Lee Simmons was overheard shouting at an assistant, “Don’t try to hold my hand unless you’re my child!” A short time later, she started yelling at someone else in her entourage “for making her late,” complaining she “should have been in the car already.”

Wiz Khalifa COVERS October/November 2012 COMPLEX Magazine,
Engaged Papa-To-Be Wiz Khalifa talks about balancing being an artist and making money in the latest issue of COMPLEX Magazine.
Behind the glitz and glamour of record label marketing machines, "Work Hard, Play Hard" rapper Wiz Khalifa has proven that it's still possible to go from "local star to indie signee to Internet celebrity to major-label superstar." And all the while, he stay true to "his" vision. In the latest issue of COMPLEX, Wiz dishes on this balancing act that artists go through (e.g. Lupe Fiasco). Here are the highlights:
On pushing O.N.I.F.C. back
“Atlantic likes O.N.I.F.C.,” says Wiz. “But they want more obvious singles because that’s what sells it for them. My belief in the record is what sells it to me. It’s not a conflict. You just have to communicate so everybody understands it.”

On walking the fine line between being an artist and making Atlantic happy
“When you’re working with other people, you figure out how much you do for them and how much you do for yourself.  You can’t just be an artist fighting for your opinion and that’s it. The label has to understand artists. I wanted to make Rolling Papers when I made Rolling Papers, now it’s time for O.N.I.F.C. Now we’re going to do it exactly how I want to do it to see how that works. It can’t be one-sided.”

On his father's best advice:
“My dad made me write down goals every couple of months.  “He’d say, ‘What are your goals for the next couple months?’ I’d tell him, ‘To get this, to do this, and have enough money to buy this.’”
Check out Wiz's photoshoot below:

 Cool photoshoot Wiz!

Chris Brown’s ‘Fortune’ Vandalized In London
Despite watching the LP and its lead single rocket to #1 in the country, Chris Brown‘s ‘Fortune‘ has come under attack in the city of London this week.
For, as you can see in the snap above, copies of the critically acclaimed release have been vandalized with stickers which read ‘Do Not Buy This Album / This Man Beats Women’.
This, despite the Grammy winner overcoming his run in with the law back in 2009, following a physical altercation involving Pop singer Rihanna. Their pair have since made amends.

Gigwise reports:
The stickers have appeared in HMV stores in London, and are thought to be the work of anti-domestic violence campaigners. The stickers read: ‘Warning – Do not buy this album! This man beats women.
Chris Brown has successfully overcome the domestic violence stigma after beating Rihanna into a bloody pulp in 2009 as the pair were en route to the Grammy Awards. He has recently been attempting to make up for his actions by visiting victims of domestic violence.
Speaking of his recent work with a US charity, the ‘Turn Up The Music’ star said: “It’s in my heart to show my fans, my friends and family and the families at Jenesse who stood by me they were right to give me another chance. I’m working hard to make them proud.”
While this will be sure to irk Brown and his camp, here’s hoping he rises about petty acts like these and continues on in this undeniably successful era.
Clearly, despite apologizing and lending his support to numerous organizations set up to fight domestic violence, he’s become an easy target for some sects who seem to take a little too much pleasure in bashing him.

I’d say, following his well publicized commercial success worldwide and his obvious growth as a person, attacks like these send a damning message to men in his predicament.
A message, which seems to revel in mistakes made by men like Chris instead of applauding them for learning from and overcoming them.

Juvenile Pleads Not Guilty To Hotel Fight

As first reported by TMZ, Terius Gray otherwise known as rapper, Juvenile, has just pled “not guilty” to disorderly conduct. He has plead this after an arrest last month in a Miami fight.

He was arrested last month for an alleged involvement in a brawl that had begun inside LIV nightclub in Miami which led to the front of Miami Beach’s Fontainebleau Hotel. Security for the hotel told police the people who were involved in the fight were “creating a threat to life and property as well as the overall safety of the patrons inside.”
During this time Juvenile had squashed beef with Lil Wayne, but says that Wayne was not involved in the incident.

It's true...

The new season of Hollywood Exes premiers in 2013.

Teyana Taylor lets VIBE Vixen Know It’s All G.O.O.D.
Dawned in all black garb, thick gold chains, and a signature fitted cap, Teyana Taylor is not here for your perceptions on her personal style.

The first lady of Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music group posed for the cover of VIBE Vixen’s Premier Fashion Issue, while noting that although her current “tomboyishly femme” style was birthed years ago (by the likes of R&B legends Aaliyah and TLC), she is largely responsible for its recent resurfacing.
“Do I think I created this style? No. Did I bring it back? Yes! I branded snapbacks and sneakers. I made it sexy again…I do feel like I influenced [the style]. I made it okay for female artists to be comfortable in their skin, to be comfortable in street wear, to not always be glamorous 24/7. I would like to think I inspired a lot of artists,” the former Star Trak protégé explains.

In a moment of transparency, she also acknowledges her failed 2006 debut single, “Google Me,” which failed to kick start her musically; however, she notes that her “urban chic” fashion sense did garner her attention among hip-hop royals, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, who encourage her to “keep pushing.”
Now, with the support of the Chicago rapper’s G.O.O.D team, things are fairing much brighter for the 21-year-old socialite, who has not only garnered two features on the upcoming “Cruel Summer” release, but found herself as the assistant fashion designer for his Paris Fashion Week line.
With things definitely looking up for Ms. Taylor, we’d agree with her in hoping her second time around the musical block is indeed a charm. What are your thoughts on Teyana’s cover story?

DMX Disses Drake For ‘Dishonoring’ Aaliyah’s Legacy
WOW….and the gloves are off!
‘Headlines’ hitmaker Drake has certainly seen his name atop headlines as of late for his fascination with late R&B songstress Aaliyah.  Going so far as tattooing her image on his body and promising revamped unreleased tunes from the ‘Rock the Boat’ beauty – much to the displeasure of fans.
And while Aaliyah’s family and close friends have all voiced their distaste for Drake’s dealings, none more than her ‘Back In One Piece’ co-star DMX.

The former hit rapper may have barked back at Drizzy in the past (even comparing his sound to a washing machine in an MTV interview), but none match this fiery speech shared with our friends at AllHipHop.  Needless to say, the censors were nowhere to be found:

The rapper also consulted MTV to share his thoughts on the Torontoian hitmaker:

Wow. I’m sure we have not seen the end of this. As Missy prepares to release her project, she will undoubtedly be quizzed on her thoughts about Drake & Blackground Records’ intention.  And, if her previous outspokenness lends any clue, she will not hold back on how she feels.

Even with all of the backlash, Blackground has expressed all intention on moving full speed ahead with the project.  How it will fare….only time will tell.
Tidbit:  While we can appreciate X’s honesty and even agree in parts…umm…Jesus take the wheel and drive him right into an episode of A&E’s ‘Intervention’.

Alicia Keys Reveals Recording Sessions W/ Jay-Z For VH1 "Storytellers"
Alicia Keys recorded her VH1 "Storytellers" episode last night at the Metropolis Studios in NYC.  Check out what the "Girl On Fire" singer said about Jay-Z demanding a re-record on their track inside...

In a black sleeveless top and shiny silver pants with her sky high black Louboutins (pictured above in between takes), Ms. Keys took that stage last night to record her upcoming episode of VH1 "Storytellers."
Alicia revealed just how the new New York Anthem, "Empire State of Mind," came about.
Her longtime New York homie Jay-Z called her up and said he had a song for her to hear.  And after she recorded her verses the first time while congested, the perfectionist Mr. Carter told her it was good, but could be better.  Jay demanded a re-record, and Alicia semi-jokingly revealed she "felt some kind of way."  And after she went back and hit the sing hard, a new classic was born.

The mom of almost-2-year-old Egypt also dished on her baby boy's fave song of mommy's, working with Kanye West & John Legend before they blew up, and more.
Alicia's "Storytellers" airs Monday, November 12th at 11pm ET/PT on VH1.

Transgender woman sues for 20 Million after being Humilated and ATTACKED in jail!
A female impersonator has launched a $20million lawsuit for damages after he was jailed in a prison for women.
Carla Brenner said his life became a living hell once the other prisoners realized he was a man.
The 52-year-old drag queen said he was assaulted and abused by the other prisoners when they realized he had still had male anatomy. Brenner, who wears women's clothing and refers to himself as a 'she,' says he did not undergone a sex change and has not intention of becoming a woman

Despite dressing like a woman Brenner maintains that he was still a man and has not undergone a sex change.
He claims he was examined by two sets of doctors - but because he looked like a woman was sent to a female facility.
‘The big hair, the makeup - I am an entertainer, a drag queen,’she said.
‘That basically means a man who enjoys dressing as a woman. It's not a woman. I have no intention on being a woman - never, ever have.’
Brenner's problems began when he was convicted of felony theft in 2011 and jailed for three months in Nashville, Tennessee.
Brenner said he was examined by the Metro Health Department in Nashville and he said it was obvious that he was a man.
How can you not tell a vagina from a penis? They had two doctors - someone from the board of health and a Metro administrator come to the jail.
‘And they had me get on the table and examined me and everything. They also said I was female. I don't understand that,’ Brenner said.
Brenner, who is also known as Lamonda Fuller, claimed officials deliberately said he was a woman.
After being sent to the female prison run by the Corrections Corporation of America he said he was abused by the other women.
‘I was strip searched, completely naked, with the women. I was showered with the women. I was sexually assaulted on two separate occasions in the shower by women,’ said Brenner.
Brenner claimed his stay for several months was so traumatic he contemplated suicide.
‘I survived it through the grace of God, because it was hell. I had contemplated suicide. It was horrible,’ Brenner said.
His lawyer, Jim Roberts, claimed authorities deliberately placed him in the female prison.
‘Metro's decision was, “Let's do it the easy way. She looks female on the outside. We will lie to everybody and say she's a female,” even though they knew she was a male the entire time,’ Roberts said.
‘When Metro takes shortcuts like that people get hurt, people get killed and people's rights get violated,’ he added.
Officials with both CCA and Metro Health said they cannot comment on the lawsuit or any medical information on a specific inmate.
But officials told WSMV-TV that Brenner ticked a box on an admission form saying he was a woman.
His $20million lawsuit is against the city of Nashville and the Corrections Corporation of America.
A spokesman for CCA said: ‘Our goal is always to house inmates in the safest environment possible. This includes a professional, individual assessment of both the risk factors of their own unique circumstances and the safety needs of those around them.’

T.I. Covers JET Magazine
Grand Hustle rapper T.I. covers the September 17th issue of Jet Magazine which is on news stands now.
Check out what T.I. had to say:
Anyone who has followed the decade-plus years that rapper, actor and multi-business owner T.I. has spent in public view would agree there isn’t much contrast between his career and a cat’s mythical life count. The 31-year-old Georgia native, born Clifford “Tip” Harris, hasn’t needed nine professional revivals per se. He has, though, consistently resuscitated his brand by repeatedly climbing out of darkness that would’ve become a grave for lesser celebrities. Remarkably, with each walk through fire, the self-proclaimed “King of the South” rose from the ashes a wiser and richer man — a broader and brighter star. “I didn’t design my tragedy, but I work hard to make sure negativity doesn’t win over positivity,” he tells JET.

Chicago Bulls Baller Derrick Rose Reveals New 'D Rose 3' Shoe, Apparel & PIZZA Investment
Derrick Rose was on hand in Chicago to unveil his newest shoe--The D Rose 3 Signature Collection.  The baller says it's his most personal shoe to date as he's has to rebuild his body and mindset to make this quick of a recovery, so he re-designed his logo as well.
He broke down into tears at his press conference talking about the love for his city and the people in it, and despite all the struggles of violence and strikes the city is going through, they still support D Rose through it all.

"The D Rose 3 signature collection is special to me because I worked side-by-side with adidas on everything from materials to fit to colors to make it the best we've done yet," said Rose. "I love the new logo that calls out the most important things to me: my family, basketball and the city of Chicago."

Check out some promo pics of Derrick below:

Not only does he have a new shoe (dropping October 4th) and apparel, but he just invested his time and image into Chicago's yummy pizza chain magnate Giordano's.  The baller is a new equity partner and will be doing non-Bulls related ad campaigns for the company, location visits, and will even mix up his own namesake pizza:
"I've always been a big fan of their stuffed pizzas," said Rose. "I'm working right now on my own signature pizza that we plan to introduce very soon. I'm actually pretty good in the kitchen."

AND FINALLY FROM “THE CRAZY PEOPLE SHOPPING AT WALMART” FILES
‘I’m In Love With Mary Jane’
Ohhhh you’re a “pothead” I get it. Oh hot damn that’s good stuff right there! I guess that’s shorter than cutting “can’t find anyone to hire me” into your head.

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYBODY!!!
