Patti LaBelle Pays $100K For Throwing Water & Obscenities At Child
What is going on with Miss Patti these days? I almost forgot about this case. In 2010, an alleged case came out that the legendary Patti LaBelle had cursed at an 18 month old child and the child’s mother, in her Upper West Side apartment building. So what exactly happened? Roseanna Monk (the mother of the 18 month old, Genevive) says that her daughter was playing near the lobby door apartment building where LaBelle was staying. Roseanna alleges that Ms. Patti became upset (because her daughter was playing in the lobby) shouted the F-word, called her (Roseanna)a “c–t,” and drenched her with bottled water. When Roseanna accused LaBelle of making the girl hysterical, she reportedly became enraged and had to be held back by her entourage and hustled into a waiting car. Court papers said the child, now 3 1/2, has suffered
“personality changes, sleep disorder” and “increased fear of strangers.”
What was the end result? LaBelle opted to settle the case before even being deposed and agreed to pay $100,000, to the plaintiff’s lawyer.
Child, this case was ALL ABOUT MONEY to begin with.... I read when this first happened, the mother was not looking after her child who was apparently LEFT UNATTENDED and playing by a dangerous door.....When Ms. Patti made a stink about it, the mother showed up and there was a life lesson that Mama Patti gave little Ms. Thing about being a mother and taking care of her child....then of course, Ms. Thing got upset and cursed Ms. Patti....Patti cursed her ass right back..and I don't know where the water came from but the child was not the target......

REALLY....that's a TRUMPED UP CHARGE to make it sound like more than what it really is..... $100,000 ain't no money when you have a lawyer to contend with who is probably getting 40% for taking the case PRO BONO...then after taxes, the heifer is only going to get about $35,000 after taxes...so the LAWYER is getting MORE THAN HER!! DAMN SHAME!!
Issues like this is a disgrace to both adults. Did u both forgot there was a minor in ur midst to be cursing or raging infront of?
ReplyDeleteAt first Patti, u are a public figure. U all sing beautiful songs abt kids n all nine yards.... How much it is to walk up to the unattended child n play mummy n distract the child just to calm him/her from causing noise? This was so simple.
As for u the mother, if Patti yelled at ur child, there is still what we called bury ur pride n ego and just either grab ur child n walk away, or ask n listen to the reason for the yelling. Two wrongs don't make a right. If one party refuse to respect the child's presence, Uuuuuu the mother shld have been an example. It's a shame for u both. Two adults who lost their manners infront of a child.
As for the money side, that's NONSENSE!!! Because u both are not smart, the lawyer is coz he is making money out of stupidity.
Celebrities always remember, ur NAME is your BRAND. Protect it, project it right, live according to it n reflect it. Don't let minor things make u loose ur credibility
