And your new American Idol Judge is????? MARIAH!!

Mariah Carey will indeed be the newest face to hit the "American Idol" judges' table. It was confirmed by FOX network exec Kevin Reilly this morning at the TCA presentation. Deets inside...
"Idol" is making big moves $18 mill moves to be exact. The deal is final and Mariah is the newest judge to fill the vacancy of Jennifer Lopez & Steven Tyler. If the rumors of her waiting for a $18 mill payout are true, chick just got her wish. However, I think its too much money…But that’s me!
She tweeted: "It's gonna be so much fun working on @AmericanIdol. As a singer-songwriter, I'm excited to help find and nurture new talent. LYM!"
At FOX's TCA presentation, MiMi called in to tell the room thank you:

"Thank you! Yay! I'm so excited to be joining Idol," said Carey on the phone. "First of all, I wanted to be there today and I wish I could have been there today to tell you, but this just happened real quickly. I can't wait to get started in a couple months. Everybody have a great TCA and I will see you in January!"
In an official press release sent to Hollywood.com by Carey's rep, the musician adds:
"As a singer, songwriter and producer, it’s going to be fun and rewarding to help find new talent and give back with American Idol. I’m currently in the studio working on my new album and its first single, ‘Triumphant,’ which will be out early next month. I can’t wait to channel my creative energy as a part of this show which is a massive global phenomenon."
However, staying true to her ever-ready PR script, the ‘On The Floor’ singer showed no hard feelings. Speaking on Carey joining Idol, the 42 year old told E! News:
”I think (she’ll do well), yeah! Why not?” She’s a musician for a long time she has a lot of experience. And it’s that experience you offer them at the end of the day, the contestants just want to get better and grow through the process.”
Mariah, conversely, has never been J.Lo’s biggest endorser: But Pardon the cynicism, but is anyone else feeling this whole Mariah/Idol episode has been orchestrated for much longer than is being let on? After all, her manager is fellow judge Randy Jackson and she is now getting paid what Lopez was supposedly denied. All rather “convenient”, right?

Nicki Minaj rolled her Pink Friday Reloaded tour into Atlanta. And she made sure to bring out ATL's finest to hit the stage with her.

Is Common’s Chicago Condo going into Foreclosure?
A bit of bad news for rapper/actor Common (real name Lonnie Lynn) has been released. According to TMZ, Common’s Chicago is about to be placed in foreclosure by Bank of America. Reportedly, he bought the condo in 2008, with a monthly mortgage of $2,285. Earlier this year, Common (who got the spot with his manager), stopped making payments and the bank plans to sell the property, and recoup the amount of the mortgage, plus interest and penalties, which total $345,389. No response from Common’s camp yet. Common jokingly responded to claims that his Chicago pad is in foreclosure. He tweeted:

So there!

Chad Ochocinco Dead: Chad Johnson Lives … Again!
*Chad Ochocinco is dead! Long live Chad Johnson!
Yes, that wild and crazy football guy, now a Miami Dolphin wide receiver, has changed his name back to Chad Johnson.
Oh, you didn’t know? Well, SeƱor “Ochocinco,” er, Mr. Johnson legally changed his name Monday in an appearance at the Broward County Courthouse.
The change, announced via Twitter, follows his July Fourth marriage to Evelyn Lozada of TV’s “Basketball Wives” fame.

Johnson was known as “Ochocinco” for the past four seasons. The name was a playful reference to the No. 85 he wore on his jersey.
Johnson was a six-time Pro Bowl receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals. He signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins earlier this year after being cut by the New England Patriots.
For his NFL career, Johnson has 766 receptions for 11,059 yards and 67 touchdowns.

DAMN! Flo-Rida, Why so many Lawsuits?
A couple of months ago Flo-Rida lost an $80,000 lawsuit against an Australian concert promoter who claimed Flo blew off his scheduled appearance at their music festival [click here if you missed that].

Now, Flo is being sued by a Canadian promoter for the exact same thing...
From TMZ
Flo Rida screwed over the entire country of Canada by pulling the plug on a concert tour ... at least that's what the jilted promoter is claiming in a whopping $200k federal lawsuit.
The suit was filed this week in Florida (the state) by Spin Artist Agency which claims they had a signed contract for the rapper to perform 10 shows in the summer of 2011 ... but he never showed.
According to the suit, Flo was supposed to perform from July 3 to July 12 -- but just one day before that Flo's reps "wrongfully cancelled the Tour." SPAA is suing Flo Rida for breach of contract and claiming massive loses in ticket, concession and booze sales. They are demanding damages of at least $200,000.

G.O.O.D. Music Covers Complex Magazine September Issue
G.O.O.D. Music is featured on the new cover of Complex Magazine September issue.
Peep some of the interview: Many of you have done albums with other labels. What’s the difference when you put out a G.O.O.D. Music album?
Common: ’Ye’s perspective is “We’re going to make the purest music, and make it reach. There ain’t no limitations to where you can reach.” So, like he said, it’s about quality.
Sean: Ain’t nobody perfect, you know what I’m saying? But we’re probably the closest motherfuckers to it. [All laugh.]
I don't know how other people live, but I know right here we represent honesty and realness. —Kid Cudi

Pusha, you worked closely with Pharrell on those first two Clipse records. How has it been putting together your solo album with Kanye?
Pusha: ’Ye has always got a million things going on, so once I got a great body of work done, I flew out to London and I played it for him in the middle of his clothing sweatshop. [Laughs.] We played it for four days straight. He’s like, “Man, I love this. I don’t like that. I’m going to redo this beat....” It’s the best thing in the world, because he’s going to tear your shit all the way down, and then build it back up. It doesn’t get any better than that.
You’re all very talented, very different artists who make very different music.
Q-Tip: And the thing about ’Ye is he’s able to see the common thread through everybody. It’s good that niggas see that—niggas like us forming like this. Especially in rap music, you hear a lot of motherfuckers talk about getting their own shit, in an individual sense. But everybody needs somebody, and what we represent is community.

What does it mean to have Kanye West involved in the production of your album?
Cudi: He knows what he’s talking about. It’s crazy how insanely smart he is—it’s frustrating at times. When I’m playing him stuff, he usually likes it. [Laughs.] But I remember there was a time when I played him something, and he was like, “Turn it off. That was terrible.”
We were in Hawaii, working on 808s & Heartbreak. That was when I first got on board, and I was doing hooks, and I was just trying to find my place. One day, I got to the studio early, and I was like, “I’m going to make a beat.” Then he came in, and I was all excited to play it.... He made this face. I was like, “Oh my God. I want to make sure he never feels like that about anything that I ever make again.”

Common: He was the first producer that I had that was like, “Man, change that verse.” or “Nah, that line is weak. Hell nah.” [All laugh.]

Cudi: But that’s what it’s about, man. And I didn’t feel bad. I was like, “OK, back to the drawing board. I bet that nigga won’t say that again.” I don’t think he’s shot down any song I’ve played for him since.
Kanye tears your work down, then builds it back up. It doesn't get any better than that. —Pusha T

Kanye is well-known for his ruthless pursuit of quality. He doesn’t accept less than 100 percent from himself, and he certainly doesn’t from those around him. Do you feel pressure?
Tip: I don’t feel like that because, like you said, he understands what the talent is—it’s on par with his. One thing that we all have in common, Kanye included, is that we all want to be great. We all have that drive. Kanye channels it—he’s the nucleus. But at the same time, it’s collaborative. He’s open to whatever it is. If there’s pressure, it’s just to do outstanding shit. And that’s more of a drive than a pressure.

Cudi: Luckily, everybody has their own vision. No one is lost. A lot of artists get lost. They drop an album, and then they go fucking blank. But everybody here sees their career 10 years from now. I don’t think anybody is seeing their career year to year, like a motherfucker working check to check. Everyone has their own vision, so there’s no pressure.
John Legend: There have been plenty of artists signed to artists’ labels that haven’t had nearly the kind of success as the head of the label. Even with G.O.O.D. Music we have artists that have done very well, and we’ve had artists that haven’t. Being attached to Kanye is only going to get you so far. You’ve still got to have the records, the talent, and the artistry to carry it on your own.
Common: If you’re forming a business, you go get people that can do their jobs well, and you don’t have to micromanage them. Like Cudi was saying, we all have a vision of our creativity for years to come. This is going to sound crazy, but it’s something to think about—Big Sean might have been 2 years old when my first album came out.
Sean: Yeah. My homie put me on, though.

Tip: He wasn’t even born when my first album came out. [Laughs.] Damn.
