Chicago Bulls Baller ‘Derrick Rose’ Involved in Car Accident

Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose was involved in a minor fender, on the Kennedy Expressway in Chicago, his 2011 Bentley was struck from behind by a 2002 Saturn. The Bulls say Rose was not injured. Police cited the driver of the Saturn, Charles Tratwein, for failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash. The accident occurred on the same day Rose was fined $25,000 by the NBA for criticizing the officiating.

Lyfe Jennings Released From Prison, Joins Carl Thomas In Studio
"Cops Up" singer Lyfe Jennings has been released from prison. Making his first public appearance last week, Jennings joined Carl Thomas for an impromptu video.
"It's going to feel real good to the fans for you to put your next project out," Carl Thomas said in the short video, calling Jennings "back in action".

While Lyfe did not have much to say in the video, Thomas expressed plans to collaborate on a few things.

"I’m looking forward to you actually getting back to the studio because I have some things planned that I would like to do," said Carl Thomas.

As previously reported, Jennings was given three years behind bars for a 2008 altercation with the mother of his child but was released early.

His last album, "I Still Believe," was released in 2010.

Jermaine Jones Gets the Boot from ‘American Idol’

The info that “American Idol” contestant Jermaine Jones held back from producers is coming back to bite him in the butt, according to TMZ.
Jones was kicked off “American Idol” Wednesday night, after producers learned he concealed the fact that he was arrested twice last year and has outstanding warrants.

As reported, producers discovered Tuesday that Jermaine had lied about his criminal history and that triggered the decision to confront him on camera Tuesday afternoon.

We’re told one of the incidents involved violence, which was particularly troublesome to producers. He also lied to cops by giving them fake names both times he was arrested.

Over the last few days, we’ve been reporting that Jermaine told producers his father abandoned him 10 years ago, but his dad called TMZ and called B.S. on his son, saying they see each other regularly.
Jermaine began tweeting that he never told producers about his dad abandoning him. We’re told the producers — who knew Jermaine had made the statement — became generally suspicious and began looking more closely at his background, and that’s what led to the revelation of his criminal history.

Oh well.

Nicolette Sheridan's Battery Charge Gets Dismissed

After hearing the disappointing news that her battery claim has been dismissed, Nicollette Sheridan was spotted leaving the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Los Angeles, California on Tuesday afteroon (March 13).
In her best professional attire, the former "Desperate Housewives" actress walked out of the legal building hand-in-hand with lawyer Marc Baute after being rocked by the news that the judge dropped her lawsuit against “Desperate Housewives” creator Marc Cherry and ABC.

Sheridan claimed Cherry hit her over the head back in 2008, but Judge Elizabeth Allen White ruled that the prosecution did not have enough proof to charge for battery.

Now, Cherry, who admitted to hitting the actress while saying that it was just a “tap,” is no longer a defendant in the case.
Sheridan’s wrongful termination claims will now be the center of the closing arguments.

Ashanti is a time traveler who seeks refuge from her broken heart in her latest music video for her newest single “The Woman You Love”.

The song features Busta Rhymes, and is the lead single from Ashanti’s next studio installment “Braveheart”. The video also features the former star of “All My Children”, Marcus Patrick, playing her former flame.

Tamia: Those Basketball Wives are really NOT!

WERK! Gorgeous singer Tamia recently chatted with HuffPost Black Voices about her new album Beautiful Surprise, her marriage to baller Grant Hill and what she thinks about "Basketball Wives." Here are the highlights:

Since you're married to an athlete, what are your thoughts on the perception of the "Basketball Wives" franchise?

Well, I think the perception is definitely not a reality. I think, to be fair, a lot of those women [on the show] aren't wives. And I'm good friends with Shaunie. And as far as business is concerned, I applaud her, but I think that it's definitely very misleading in terms of what our lives are about. I do have a lot of friends who are married to athletes, and a lot of these women are involved in charities, doing all kinds of things behind the scenes and are supportive wives, and -- believe it or not -- have supportive husbands who are really great guys. I think not only for the women, but I think it just paints a really bad picture about the men as well. I think for athletes in general, people are like, "Why would you want to marry an athlete?" And that goes back to what I was saying to you: what works in one person's marriage, may not work in the next. So keep your eyes focused on yours! I guess it's interesting TV, but it's definitely not reality.

I'm hearing that Grant [Hill] is also featured in your upcoming video for "Beautiful Surprise." What was it like to work with him on the set?

Yeah, after 15 years. He's like, "I finally made it in the video!" Now, he'll tell you that I choose him because he was cheap! [Laughs] But we had a lot of fun. And it was interesting just seeing him in that mode. Obviously he's done lots of commercials and bouncing basketballs in sweatpants. But this was a totally different thing.

What are some things that you guys do to help keep your marriage thriving?

I always say, "What works in one marriage may not work in the next. So definitely keep your eyes focused on your own relationship." I think it's important to understand that you guys are going to grow. Obviously, I'm not the same person that I was at 24, and he's not the same person that he was. But we also together allowed each other to grow as well and stay connected at the same time. And I think that's important. And obviously, communication is super important. And at the end of the day we just love being with each other and being really good friends.

Eddie Murphy’s New Film ‘A Thousand Words’ Did AWFUL At The Box-Office

Eddie Murphy’s new comedy A Thousands Words was the laughing stock of the U.S. Box Office this weekend – only ranking in sixth place and taking just $6.4m. Meanwhile, Dr. Seuss’ the Lorax easily beat Edgar Rice Burroughs’ ‘John Carter’ at the weekend box office. Studio estimates on Sunday put Universal Pictures’ The Lorax’ at No. 1 for the second-straight weekend as the animated adventure based on the children’s book took in $39.1 million. That raised its 10-day domestic total to $122 million, making ‘The Lorax’ the top-grossing movie released this year.

John Carter, based on Tarzan creator Burroughs’ tales of the interplanetary adventurer, opened in second-place with $30.6 million.

Eddie may need to go back to his roots and bring us some stand up.

Suge Knight Gets New Court Date in Las Vegas

*A lawyer for fallen rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight is working on a plea deal with a Las Vegas city prosecutor on unpaid tickets that led to Knight’s arrest last month on traffic warrants.

On Monday, Knight, 46, didn’t appear in Las Vegas Municipal Court. However, his attorney, Richard Schonfeld, got a new court date of March 19.
Knight was arrested Feb. 8 in Las Vegas on warrants issued after police say he failed to appear on tickets issued in November 2008.
Knight also was accused of possessing less than one ounce of a controlled substance on a report that marijuana was found in the car.
No charge was immediately filed in the marijuana case which is scheduled for June in another court.

Leah Remini CLAIMS Sharon Osbourne Got Her & Holly Robinson FIRED

New York-bred spitfire Leah Remini is speaking out (glad somebody FINALLY is) about her and Holly Robinson Peete getting fired from "The Talk." And she says co-host Sharon Osbourne is the reason!
Actress Leah Remini took to her Twitter account yesterday and held back very little while explaining why she and actress Holly Robinson Peete were fired from CBS' chatfest "The Talk." Everyone on the show has remained mum on what went down.

The co-hosts still there have still not even addressed their exit. Instead, CBS simply replaced them with comediennes Sheryl Underwood and Aisha Tyler.

Leah tweeted, "Sharon thought me and Holly were 'Ghetto', (her words) we were not funny, awkward and didn't know ourselves... She had us fired."

How does Leah know this for sure? She tweeted,

@ownit3 yes. That's what she revealed on Howard Stern. Quite sad to find out that way

Then added,
@Forever_Cate This kind of foolishness doesn't usually happen between actors. which she is not. Different kind of ppl.

And for those of you who are wondering how you replace two so-called "ghetto" actresses with Sheryl Underwood, a fan tweeted Leah,
@LeahRemini if so then it looks like Sheryl is the next to go cause Sharon looks like "shut up bitch" when Sheryl is talking

And Leah responded,

"That's who she is. she did that to me everyday. I feel for them. She has the power that was given to her. And yes, you are also right"

Last we checked the only person who had power to get anybody on that show fired is the woman who is literally in bed with CBS President Les Moonves--his wife and main co-host of "The Talk," Julie Chen.
This is all very messy. So far, we haven't had a response from Holly Robinson Peete (and we don't expect one). Holly took the high road and would not directly address the issue when she appeared on "Wendy" a few weeks ago.

Bobbi Kristina Brown: Dating "Adopted Brother" Nick Gordon

Just one month after Whitney Houston's death, her daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown is looking to her family for comfort, but in a different way than you might expect.

The singing icon's only child and her adopted "big brudder", Nick Gordon, announced their relationship via Twitter last weekend (March 9) and there are a lot of mixed emotions flying on both of their social media pages from fans and followers.
In a report put out by E! News, a source close to Miss Brown explains that Gordon is a great person and friend and has always been supportive of the 19 year-old beauty. 

The insider also dished that the pair first met when they were younger, where Gordon explained to Bobbi Kristina that he wanted to enlist in the army after high school due to family problems - but, to avoid this from happening, Houston stepped in to take him in as her own son.
Since the "How Do I Live" songstress fostered Gordon, he has been the man of the house, and by the looks of his recent tweets, he feels the same way about this relationship.

Since the release of their photo together, there have been many controversial tweets and Gordon is firing back, ass he wrote, "All the haters that dont know us or th real story can't un follow me. I don't give a f**k," he tweeted. Also adding, "Some ppl have no lives so they gotta be in ours."
Houston's adopted son also made his place in the family known, stating, "She called me her me " God Son" I swear some ppl in this world act like they don't have a brain..."
Nick closed out his defensive remarks by writing, "I've proved my loyalty to her and the Houston family. I don't owe any of you anything. Ha I don't even know y'all haters."

Grammy winner Melanie Fiona has penned several songs of heartbreak for her new album, “The MF Life,” and fans are speculating that the lost love-themed tracks are about her ex-boyfriend, “CSI:Miami” heart-throb Adam Rodriguez.
Sources tell us Rodriguez and Fiona, who’s signed to Jay-Z’s label Roc Nation, quietly but seriously dated for three years and lived together in Los Angeles. But the couple recently split, and Fiona — who won two Grammys this year for her song with Cee Lo Green, “Fool for You” — moved to New York from LA shortly after.

“They kept their relationship under wraps. They’d avoided attending events together or even being photographed when possible,” said a source.
But a rep for Rodriguez, who just filmed the Steven Soderbergh comedy “Magic Mike,” says he didn’t cause the anguish detailed in the songs and adds, “Adam knows about all of those songs, but they were written months ago — they were very happy together.”
His rep confirms they broke up in the past month, but the split was “very nice” and they’re still friends. “Adam still cares about her,” the rep told us.

Proving that they are comfortable with bold wardrobe choices, the women could not be missed on the basketball court as their dayglo hues stood out from their royal blue surroundings.

The fashion-forward couple put different spins on the wardrobe faithful of smart, tailored trousers on the first of their official engagements on the short relationship-strengthening trip.
Mobama played tennis with a group of children, holding her own among the young, enthusiastic sports players.

Despite wearing kitten heels as part of her smart outfit, the 5' 11" keen sportswoman threw herself into the activity with gusto and cheered as she hit the ball.

Pleasure P Tackled by Crazy Fan : Man Shot Dead & Five Wounded After Pleasure P Concert

One man was left dead following a Pleasure P concert in Kansas. WOW people what is really going on HiphopDX reports Wichita, Kansas Police are investigating a shootout in which officers returned fire and one person died following a Pleasure P concert .

The Wichita Eagle reports that a fight broke out around 2:00 AM after the P concert at Doc Howard’s Lounge. Someone then started firing a gun. According to Wichita police Lt. Scott Heimerman, officers chased a man armed with a gun into the parking garage, where they exchanged gunfire.

Police Lt. Randy Reynolds confirmed one casualty, but did not elaborate on any details.

Doc Howard’s owner Bryan Shapiro spoke on the matter, expressing his surprise that the shooting was linked to his club. “It happened in the middle of the street in the most neutral part of Old Town. They just happened to run in our direction.”
“We’re an easy target [for blame],” said Shapiro, who pointed out that several other clubs in Old Town were closing at about the same time.
“We’re the biggest boy on the block, and the biggest boy sometimes takes most of the blame.”

Drake Covers April 2012 GQ Magazine

GQ Magazine selected Drake as one of the cover subjects of it April 20123 cover issue, called the ‘Style Bible.’ The other two covers belong to actors Dave Franco (James Franco‘s little brother) and John Slattery.

Drake spoke to the magazine about cutting down on sleeping with so many women, saying:

“There’s just a time where it was like, just getting pu**y. Where I was in that sort of ‘I’m young, I’m going to disconnect from my emotions and just do what everyone else tells me I should do and just be a rapper and have my fun.’ And for me as a person, it just doesn’t work. Nicki Minaj put on her best cotton candy-like pink wig for the April 2012 cover of ALLURE. The cover has been floating arond for weeks in a blurry low-res format, but now the higher quality pic has been released.

He earned a fortune after his album Don't Be Cruel became one of the biggest hits of the 80s.
But it appears Bobby Brown has fallen on hard times, as he was forced to use an airport shuttle bus in Los Angeles
The RnB singer, also had to push his own luggage when he touched down at LAX airport with his current squeeze Alicia Etheridge.

It would be no surprise if the 43-year-old former hitmaker, who looked decidedly grumpy when he climbed on the bus, is struggling financially.

For it was revealed earlier this week he had claimed in court that possession he owned, which were kept in a storage facility her shared with Whitney, had to be auctioned off because they could not afford the bill.

In a sworn declaration submitted during their contentious divorce in 2007, he said the former couple had mounting cash worries.
