GLAAD DEMANDS ROLAND MARTIN BE FIRED!
Roland Martin, a commentator for CNN, sent out a controversial tweet during the Super Bowl that resulted in GLAAD (Gay Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) demanding his removal from the news network. It all started with a tweet Roland sent after David Beckham’s H&M commercial aired during the Super Bowl: “If a dude at your Super Bowl party is hyped about David Beckham’s H&M underwear ad, smack the ish out of him!”
The tweet caused GLAAD to respond by writing to Roland: “Advocates of gay bashing have no place at CNN.” Roland’s response: On Twitter, Martin wrote, "Fam, let me address the issue that some in the LGBT community have raised regarding some of my Super Bowl tweets yesterday. I made several cracks about soccer as I do all the time. I was not referring to sexuality directly or indirectly regarding the David Beckham ad, and I'm sorry folks took it otherwise. It was meant to be a deliberately over the top and sarcastic crack about soccer; I do not advocate violence of any kind against anyone gay, or not. As anyone who follows me on Twitter knows, anytime soccer comes up during football season it's another chance for me to take a playful shot at soccer, nothing more. he wrote.
The exchange hasn’t satisfied GLAAD, which sent a statement to the Hollywood Reporter stating, “Martin has a history of anti-LGBT views. GLAAD is calling on him to be fired, joining many other LGBT activists and bloggers.”
GLAAD has a right to stand up and I commend them for their fight, however For him to be without a job. Not necessarily in this case.
On the other hand, I don’t appreciate the way Roland Martin tried to weasel out of his statement, claiming he was referring to the “game of soccer.” Roland, I must give you the “side-eye-of-the-week” for that one.

OH DAMN! GET OVER IT!! I don't think his comments was even THAT serious enough to bring about such an OUTCRY to have him fired!! With ALL of the excitement of the SUPERBOWL, to be THAT excited over an UNDERWEAR commercial would have been a bit MUCH when you consider the amounts of money that was at stake! Roland Sebastian Martin is an ALLY to the LGBT community an most importantly the BLACK LGBT......so this is a farce!! a COMPLETE FARCE!! I really believe that some of these damn SISSIES need to get a grip and MAN THE FUCK UP......we have become SO SENSITIVE to EVERY LITTLE THING that we don't know what to
