POWERFUL PIECE: The Never Ending Racist Assault on Michelle Obama by Earl Ofari Hutchinson

*There are two relentless constants in the manic drive by GOP ultra conservatives, tea party leaders and followers, and unreconstructed bigots to make President Obama a one term president. One is their drumbeat, non-stop barrage of racist depictions, slurs, digs and vilification of Obama.

The other is their drumbeat, non-stop barrage of racist depictions, slurs, digs, and vilification of First Lady Michelle Obama. One of the latest is the outrageously racist depiction of Michelle on the right-wing website Gateway Pundit as a grotesquely muscular armed Marie Antoinette. The racist caricature was based on a 1775 portrait by 18th Century French painter Jean-Baptiste André Gautier-Dagoty. The painting hangs in the Palace of Versailles outside Paris.
The racist comparison of Michelle to Antoinette is another in the endless knocks that Michelle lives an imperious and luxury lifestyle all supposedly at taxpayer expense. This is code language for an African-American that’s “uppity.” And if that African-American happens to be the First Lady, the fury level soars and the slanders against her fly even hotter and heavier.

The racial assault on Michelle began virtually the instant that Obama declared his presidential candidacy in 2007. The first salvo was an out of context remark in which Michelle allegedly questioned her faith in America. This set off bells and whistles that she might be the perfect surrogate punching bag for then candidate Obama. The Obama campaign sensed the danger and tactfully made sure that Michelle’s would play the low keyed, support for her husband’s candidacy that presidential candidate’s wives traditionally play.

Once in the White House that quickly changed. She got pilloried for her push of the failed Chicago Olympic bid, and later for uttering a few words on health care reform. Her shopping excursions, her vacation in Spain, and her work-out routine all became fodder for political sniping, gossip and ridicule.

A viral email buzzed around the nets and blogs for a time that pounded her for her high-salaried and top-heavy staff. A British tabloid even engaged in malicious mischief when it claimed that Michelle’s undergraduate thesis written in 1985 with the hardly incendiary title of “Princeton-Educated Blacks and the Black Community” was an open call for black militancy.

That fizzled, but the jibes, taunts, and racist cartoons on the blogs and websites never stopped. The aim is to firmly link Michelle in the public’s mind as both a power behind the White House throne and to identify her with the alleged bad policies of Obama. The more honest GOP strategists even said as much when Michelle gave them even more fodder when she sent out an email to friends and supporters touting the selection of Charlotte for the 2012 Democratic Convention. Her carefully chosen words touting the city as “vibrant, diverse and full of opportunity” were about as Chamber of Commerce-safe and tame as could be. But that was more than enough for the GOP to spring back on the attack. After all, said one GOP critic, conventions are partisan and political and therefore for a First Lady to utter a word about the convention makes her by that logic fair game for attack for playing partisan politics.

The juvenile attacks on Michelle may turn out to be child’s play compared to what the big, nasty GOP hit machine is capable of steam rolling out. The avalanche of hit below the belt, name calling ads and attacks that the GOP presidential candidates have unloaded on each other give strong hint, if hint be needed, that the GOP will unleash its full arsenal of gossip, innuendo, rumor, slander and outright lies against Obama when the presidential campaign kicks into high gear later in the year.

Michelle almost certainly will figure into the GOP game plan. Obama’s GOP presidential opponent will stay above the fray. He will not utter a word about Obama, and will publicly renounce any racial innuendos about the Obamas by their official campaigns. Michelle for her part will also stay above the fray. She will continue to work hard to improve the health and welfare of children and families and give support to military families. But that won’t stop the attacks. The GOP will use its endless back door channel surrogates of bloggers, right wing talk show gabbers, and tea party operatives to slur and slander Michelle to sow even more doubt and discord about President Obama’s policies and, by extension, him.

In the past the rules of political engagement have been clear. Presidents were fair game for any and every type of fair or gutter attack. Their wives and families, though, were off limits. But as the wife of the most politically assailed president in modern times by racial bigots, the rules of the political game have been smashed. Michelle will continue to be an inviting target of racial slander simply because she is who she is. And that’s certainly not Marie Antoinette.

Loon Ordered To Remain In Belgian Prison For Drug Trafficking Charges

The former Bad Boy will remain behind bars for a case stemming from over three years ago.

Former Bad Boy Records artist and Harlem World member Loon has been arrested in Belgium. According to DDotOmen.com, the Harlem, New York emcee was reportedly arrested while trying to enter the European country after he had been indicted in May of this year for distributing heroin. The charges stem from over three years ago, in North Carolina.

Loon, now known as Amir Junaid Muhadith, will reportedly be extradited to the United States for trial.

Loon's music career has been quiet in the last five years. After his Bad Boy self-titled solo debut, Loon released several independent albums, most recently 2007's Bad Boys with another former Diddy protege, G-Dep. G-Dep is presently incarcerated for confessing to a 1993 New York robbery-murder.

In 2004, Loon was arrested for an attempted murder charge. He was never convicted.

UPDATE: According to an article published in Nieuwsblad.be, Loon has been ordered to remain behind bars in Brussels, Belgium His lawyer, Isa Gultaslar, said that a grand jury decided that he will stay in prison earlier today and will attempt to appeal the decision in Supreme Court. The U.S. is yet to send documents for his extradition.

Tyga Arrested In Las Vegas For Active Warrants

They saying Rapper Tyga got locked up in Las Vegas over the weekend after cops discovered the 22-year-old had an active warrant out for his arrest.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that Tyga who’s real name is Michael Stevenson was initially flagged on a routine traffic violation. During the stop, cops discovered the warrant stemming from 4 other traffic incidents.

According to KSNV in Nevada … Tyga‘s prior issues include driving without a license, registration violations and unlawful acts of financial responsibility.

The “Rack City” and “Coconut Juice” rapper was hauled to the Clark County Detention Center where he was booked and tossed behind bars. He was released the next day on his own recognizance.

Nick Cannon goes home to recuperate and Mariah tweets his prognosis and THANKS!

 He has been suffering from 'mild kidney failure' but Nick Cannon is now out of hospital and back home. 

The singer has been checked out of the medical facility and is now recovering with his wife Mariah Carey at their home in Los Angeles.
A spokesperson for the star confirmed today that Nick is: 'resting and recovering at home'.

Meanwhile Mariah, who has been by her husband's side throughout his ordeal has thanked fans on Twitter for their support and revealed that he is on the road to recovery.

Last night she tweeted: 'Up w/NC watching@BishopJakes -a true inspiration as always. Nick is getting better+we love+appreciate all the ongoing kind words!'
Nick is said to be returning to his live morning radio show 'Rollin' with Nick Cannon on January 17.

Mariah has been updating her fans on her husbands condition since he fell ill during their trip to Aspen, Colorado.
Last week Cannon, 31,was transferred from a medical facility in Aspen, Colorado, to one in the couple's hometown of Los Angeles.

Carey tweeted: 'Nick is in stable condition with a good prognosis, hopefully he'll be discharged within 2 days. As always he's laughing and in good spirits.'
Carey also posted a photo of herself kissing the America's Got Talent host as he reclined in his hospital bed, surrounded by balloons and flowers.

'Getting back to business,' he tweeted.

Nick was clearly in better spirits as he also posted a photo of him having a haircut in his hospital room and posted party plug for his friend (and Tom Cruise's son), DJ Connor Cruise.
It would appear that the some-time rapper was preparing for surgery as shortly afterwards he tweeted: 'Just left the operating table and I was awake during the whole procedure. # OUCH'

The cause of Cannon's kidney failure is still unknown but a doctor may have had to remove or bypass a blockage in the urinary tract.

Last week, superstar Carey revealed her husband's condition while on a skiing holiday in Aspen with twins Monroe and Moroccan.

“Please pray for Nick as he's fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure. #mybraveman” Carey posted on her Twitter account.
She then added a photo of herself and Cannon on the hospital bed and has been by Cannon’s side in Colorado the entire time.

Carey said that the medical personnel 'tried to kick me out of the hospital,' but that they failed in getting her to leave 'Mr. C’s' side.
Fortunately Mariah's mother, Patricia Carey lives in Aspen and so was on hand to help her daughter during the last week.

'We're trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful,' the singer wrote.
'We're doing OK but we're "straaaaaanded in Aspen". #DramaticDivaPlace (I know, we could be in a lot worse places),' continued Carey. 'But, the truth is as long as we're together, we're OK.'

Her last request to her fans was to 'keep us and our family in your prayers.'

Later that day, Cannon informed his fans via twitter that he was being transferred to a hospital in L.A. from Aspen and thanked his fans for all of their support.
'Thank you all for all your love, prayers and concern.You know me... I will be a'ight,' the comedian added.

Pilar Sanders Didn’t Cheat on Deion And I’ll prove it with A Lie Detector Test

Pilar Sanders wants everyone to know she’s NOT an adulterous floozie who cheated on Deion, and wants to take a lie detector test to prove it.

Sanders told TMZ she is still pissed about the allegations Deion’s daughter Deiondra made about her during an epic Twitter rant last month and I have to say Deiondra went in!!!! In the Tweets Deiondra claimed Pilar was a “gold digging h*e” who cheated on her father.

Now, Pilar’s attorney, Larry Friedman, tells TMZ …

“It is extremely unfortunate that, in addition to the mental distress caused by the unexpected and untimely filing of the divorce by Deion Sanders, he has not stopped his daughter Deiondra from falsely accusing my client, Pilar Sanders, of infidelity in order to cause her more pain and suffering and further damage her character and reputation.”
Friedman adds,
“This matter doesn’t require praying for Pilar as Deion has stated; it calls for telling the ‘truth’ — as well as a retraction of the false accusations made about Pilar and a public apology.”

“Perhaps it’s time for the parties to submit to and release the results of a polygraph examination to determine whether infidelity was committed during the marriage and to put an end to the speculation once and for all.”

Deion apologized for his daughter on a radio show last week — apparently, it wasn’t good enough.

Dwight Howard Reportedly Engaged

*Orlando Magic superstar Dwight Howard is reportedly engaged to his girlfriend Christine Vest, according to MediaTakeout.com.*

Vest was seen in a picture on this past New Year’s Eve with a glimmering rock of an engagement ring. She also allegedly commissioned a painting where she’s depicted with a wedding dress on and flowers.
What makes this even more interesting is that Vest is from Los Angeles — and we all know that the Lakers are pursuing Howard. Question is, will Dwight ever get traded to LA where his fiancee reportedly plans to stay for good.

If Christine has anything to say about it, we wouldn’t be surprised if it does happen.

Katy Perry's father pulled a Mel Gibson after going on an anti-Semitic rant during a church sermon.

Keith Hudson told hundreds of worshippers: "You know how to make the Jew jealous? Have some money, honey.
"You go to LA and they own all the Rolex and diamond places. Walk down a part of LA where we live and it is so rich it smells. You ever smell rich? They are all Jews, hallelujah. Amen."

His sick blast came in a sermon where he also spoke about pop singer Katy, 27.

He said: "People say 'How is it you have a daughter raised in the church and she sang 'I kissed a girl and liked it'? I say 'I don't know'."

Keith and wife Mary, both 63, gave their first services at Church on the Rise in Westlake, Ohio, since Katy and Russell Brand, 36, announced their divorce.
Later there was a collection for the Hudsons.

Keith added: "We live by the Gospel, not off anyone else, even though you may say 'You are the parents of Katy Perry, you must be rich.' No, she is, I am not, hallelujah."

‘Making The Band’ Rapper Chopper City Shot In Chicago

Things are getting crazy out here former Making the Band rapper Chopper City from New Orleans was reportedly shot in Chicago this weekend, according to MTO.

The rapper was in Chicago for a show when he was attacked by a gang of goons for a colorful gold chain he had on.

Pictures were taken by the rapper and obtained by Fake Shore Drive which show him in a wheelchair at a hospital. One of his friends is pushing him around in the wheelchair.

Chopper is expected to make a complete recovery.
